This is the 3rd time I ve taken my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Aardvark. I can t recommend them highly enough. They are the only automotive shop I will use !!! If you need it fixed they will get it done right. Very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable from their front office to the their great mechanics. They will deliver your vehicle cleaner than it went in. They washed and vacuumed my Jeep before I picked it up. Great job once again guys!!!!!

I can't recommend Aardvark Automotive highly enough. I brought my aging but beloved Yukon in with a tricky electrical issue that no shop had ever been able to properly diagnose and fix over the years. Jason and his expert team were up for the challenge. From the moment I arrived, Jason and his staff were kind, attentive, and clearly communicated every step of the process. They were determined to finally get to the bottom of the issue. Their persistence and automotive knowledge paid off - they correctly identified and fixed the wiring problem!Jason runs an honest, fair, family-oriented shop. They never tried to upsell or overcharge. The final cost was very reasonable for the time and expertise they invested. They truly went above and beyond to take care of me and my old Yukon.I'm so grateful to have found a shop I can trust for all my family's automotive needs. The excellent customer service and technical expertise at Aardvark Automotive is hard to find. This is hands-down the best auto shop in town.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Vehicle Inspection, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Auto maintenance

Recently, I submitted my sister in law for the "Wheels to Prosper" program. Week before last we were notified that she was a selectee. Words cannot and will not express how elated she was when given the news by the Aardvark Automotive staff. Upon arrival at the Aardvark Automotive repair center that day, the professionalism, courtesy and care given was insurmountable. Kindness is a word seldom used today. However, when kindness is coupled with graciousness, it sums up the Aardvark Automotive Repair Service. Thank you, and may continued blessings be upon you and your organization.

Wow I was floored by the outstanding service we received from Aardvark. We had some RV problems while on our roadtrip across country (right before Aardvark was closing for the night), Jason and Donna had us booked in for the very first appointment the next morning. When we arrived that evening, we received a grand welcome by the staff, I was just blown away by the hospitality we received, just as I stepped out of our RV, Danny had a long extension cord pulled out for us to plug in our AC and offered us water and whatever they could help us with to make our stay more comfortable until they opened the next morning. Brandon, another one of the mechanics introduced himself to us (on his own time after the shop had already closed up) to let us know where we could find food and other amenities we may need during our evening stay. The next morning, the owner, Brandon, personally came to greet us and reassure us that they would take care of us. And they did exactly that! We felt like VIP's as they took us in first thing in the morning and had us back on the road by 10:30am! I would definitely recommend Aardvark for any mechanical needs. They are honest, knowledgeable and genuinely very caring people.

Save your money!!!! Go somewhere else!!! I took my Jeep to this place two years in a row to fix the air conditioner first time it was $600 by next season it wasn't working anymore they told me to take it back as some of it Is still under warranty took it back and they did not fix anything and charged me $350 just to run tests and quatoed me $2600 to fix everything .... Took it to a family friend after paying almost a thousand dollars to them for an air conditioner that still doesn't work, family friend charged 150 and it worked beautifully he just replaced somw valves and recharged the compressor. Save your time and money!!!!!! Go somewhere else I will NEVER be taken advantage like this again.

I am thoroughly impressed with the service provided by this Automotive business. I can't say enough how welcome I felt walking in. Most impressive to me was dropping off my car to get an oil change, then picking it up with the pleasant surprise of a Vacuumed, dusted and washed vehicle. And to keep you free of needing to keep track of your next service they put a small sticker on your windshield as a personalized friendly reminder.

Reply to aardvarks reply: Like I said, I took it to a trusted family mechanic of over 30 years and he fixed my problems. Personally showed me everything wrong with it and shared his plan on how he would fix everything. Found a couple things aardvark didn t and I didn t have to pay before figuring out what s all wrong with my van like aardvark did. Wasn t told about or notified of everything wrong with my vehicle until I was charged $240 at aardvark. As mentioned in my first review, the ac didn t work but did when I first brought it in. I got my vehicle back without working ac and several things not placed back properly. I m not the only customer to have experienced getting their vehicle back in worse condition. 4.6 star service returns vehicles with working ac. I clearly didn t receive that service.Edit: after a month with no contact or explanation from aardvark, I took it to a trusted family mechanic and he confirmed my suspicions.Original: Brought my ford econoline van in because it was running rich and check engine light was on. Had them do a full diagnostic on it. Supposedly, all that was wrong was disconnected vacuum lines. They fixed the problem in a day but the day after, check engine light came back on. It had been cold outside so I didn t have to turn on the ac until today. I go to turn it on and it s stuck on defrost. A common problem with econolines that I fixed awhile ago and involves rearranging some vacuum lines. Seems like all they did was undo this fix. After going through, repairing my ac again and seeing what they actually did, I feel robbed. Charged me $240 to switch one vacuum line (took me 2 minutes to do on my own) and returned it to me in worse condition. They made a mess out of one of the battery terminal and wires. Not properly clipped back into place and folded some of the wires. They didn t put the protective plastic cover back over the vacuum line they adjusted. They left one vacuum line just out loose in the engine bay. Also didn t bother to put the rubber grommet back into the firewall that holds a vacuum line. If they were careless with all that, I imagine they were careless with everything. Including the full engine diagnostics I was charged almost $200 for that probably should have found more than a vacuum problem.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Came in to find a coolant leak. It ended up being the 2 heater hoses. Jason was the guy I communicated with and he s so nice and helpful. They fixed my car in 2 days and it runs great. I was provided with a ride home when I dropped off the car and they picked me back up. I recommend this place for any kind of auto repair. I found my place that I will continue to go to.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

It brings me no pleasure to write a negative review, but my customer service experience at Aardvark Automotive was so exceptionally awful that I am compelled to warn others about them. Our son was home from school for winter break and we thought it would be a good idea to have his 2014 Chevy Cruze checked for any mechanical issues. In particular, the engine was making a peculiar whirling sound that varied depending on the speed. After reading various reviews for Amarillo automotive repair shops, we decided to call Aardvark Automotive. I called on Tuesday, December 27, and spoke with Jason. I told him I wanted a detailed diagnostic of the vehicle. Jason told me the fee would be $75 and the first available appointment was Friday, December 30. We dropped off the car on Thursday, December 29, at 5PM. Jason met us at the front counter and I reiterated my diagnostic request including identifying the source of the whirling sound. As an afterthought, I asked him to also change the oil. After not hearing from Aardvark Automotive all day on Friday, I called them at 5PM to get an update. Jason told me they hadn't gotten to our vehicle and that they'd need to keep it until Monday. This was disappointing to hear because we had made an appointment 3 days prior. It was also frustrating because he never bothered to call us with an update. Jason apologized and assured me they'd get to it on Monday.Monday morning rolls around and I get the following text from Jason, "The completed inspection of vehicle and oil service. Vehicle is in great shape. He did not make any further recommendations for service at this time. It is complete and ready for pick up at your convenience." There was no mention of the whirling sound that I specifically asked him to diagnose. I called Jason and asked him about the whirling sound and he said their mechanic hadn't detected anything. The sound is obvious when you drive the vehicle so I can only conclude they didn't bother to road test it. I asked Jason if it would be possible to have a mechanic take a drive with our son in order to identify the source of the whirling sound and he agreed. When we arrived at Aardvark Automotive after 1PM, we noticed our car was still elevated on a lift inside the garage. I asked the woman at the front counter if I could speak with Jason. She said he was out to lunch and wasn't there. I then asked the woman if there was anyone else I could talk with about the vehicle and she said, "I don't know. Everyone is out to lunch." She went back to the garage and returned with a mechanic. I asked the mechanic if he would be willing to take a drive with our son and that's when he asked, "Is this about the noise?" I said yes and he explained the noise was coming from the transmission. That was good to know, but when were they planning to share this information with us? What happened to the detailed diagnostic promised by Jason?Things got even worse when it was time to pay the final bill. The total came to $155.95. There was no mention of the $75 diagnostic fee as quoted by Jason. The amount was for the oil change only. So they had the car for more than a day and the only thing we got in return was an overpriced oil change service. The paperwork didn't mention anything about the transmission noise. The paperwork didn't even specify the type of synthetic oil used. But my harshest criticism of Aardvark Automotive is about the woman at the front counter. She was defensive and argumentative. She essentially said the misunderstanding about the detailed diagnostic was my fault. She's a terrible communicator and doesn't know the first thing about placating customer concerns. The fact that she's the public face of Aardvark Automotive says a lot about the management.Aardvark Automotive is an absolute disaster and should be a case study on how not to run a business. Jason's folksy manner is no substitute for good communication and good customer service. Aardvark Automotive should be avoided at all costs, unless you enjoy being misled and jerked around.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance

UPDATE, Donna in the front is friendly. called and spoke with Brandon who was extremely apologetic for the diagnosis that was done. He offered me a full refund taking accountability and continued to explain some parts of the diagnosis. overall my experience here was great in terms of this shop doing everything they can to make things right. If I have troubles down the road I would feel confident giving Aardvark another try. :)

While on a road trip across the country, my van developed a noticeable gas leak. The many places I tried along the way were unable to look at it for at least a week or more. Aardvark promptly fit me in and completed the repair (replaced the gas filler tube). Wonderful people!

On a road trip from Houston to Colorado, our 2003 Saab transmission decided to start slipping forty miles south of Amarillo on a Sunday night. With the help of Google, we found Aardvark, called, left a message with the hopes of getting in the next morning. Our call was returned Monday morning and we were there at opening. We knew it wasn't going to be an easy assessment or fix but by noon we had a rental car and were on our way to resume our trip while leaving our Saab with Aardvark to do a transmission rebuild. Aardvark kept us informed of the status of parts ordered and received and of the transmission rebuild throughout our vacation. We never had to wonder what was going on and always felt 100% comfortable with the situation. The only negative was that, after putting the car back together, we had a traction control light that couldn't be coded to clear. We drove home to Houston. Brandon insisted we follow up with him on that issue. Our Saab shop was able to locate a cable that didn't get connected, and Brandon reimbursed us for that charge. I highly recommend Aardvark. Everyone there was pleasant, communicative, honest, and treated us with the utmost respect. Aardvark has put Amarillo on the map for us!

My only regret is not doing my review sooner! I had by far one of the best experiences ever at aardvark automotive. They really know how to take care of their customers. I took my car to them to get my window regulator and motor fixed. The thing that stood out the most was their customer service. While my car needed to be left at the shop they offered me a ride back to work and back to the shop once it was ready for pick up. They really made it easy for me to get to work while my car was being worked on which was amazing. They kept me updated with any issues and got the job done when they said they would! I also liked how they followed up with me to see how things where going and then they even sent me a holiday card a few days later which really showed how much they value their customers. I will continue to refer friends and family and I am happy to have a place where I feel comfortable to leave my Nismo 350z to be worked at.

I had my heater core replaced, which was quiet extensive. They had to remove my dash to replace the heater core. Brandon kept me updated the entire time and was very professional. When I got my car back, it was clean and the heater worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend getting your car repaired at Aardvark.

We were traveling through Amarillo when we had an issue with our car, Googled for a European car specialist shop. In the am we took the car .to Aardvark Automotive, the service manager got us right in. The Technicion performed a full scan of the computers, performed a road test, and cleared the codes. Although the scan didn't reveal the issue, the technician suggested the issue was just a hickup between the performance throttle body and the computer. He then assured us the car was performing as it should, and we could finish our trip without any issues. He was correct. The staff was polite, kind, and very knowledgeable. Money well spent for the peace of mind. Many thanks to Aardvark Automotive.Update.Come to find out, the fuel pump tube was broken, so when the fuel level dropped below half, the pump was unable to pull fuel. Therefore, we were running out of gas even though we had a half tank.

I'm a traveler and had engine trouble passing through Texas. I was worried about how long a repair would take. Since my engine is a Mercedes, she usually needs special ordered parts in order to get work done on her. Since I live in my vehicle, getting in and out of the shop asap is even more crucial.I cannot commend and thank Aardvark Automotive enough for the top-of-the-line, above-and-beyond hospitality and service. I called the day I thought we were gonna hit Amarillo to make sure there was a mechanic who was able to work on my vehicle and blew a tire on the way. Due to delay, we ended up making it the next day, a Thursday. Every person at that shop did the most to get us on the road. Kim called several parts places to make sure they got the resonator I needed overnighted and they had me fixed up and ready to go by the end of the next business day, Friday. They kindly accommodated us in our Sprinter RV so we wouldn't have to figure out where to put ourselves and our pups while we were stuck.A million thanks!!! :)

Donna and Jason are honestly the best! Everytime I call I say hi, it s Juli with the red mini but honestly I think they d know me by just Juli. They are genuine and always willing to help when something goes wrong with my car. I ll always go to them for my car troubles and send everyone I know there as well! I met Andrew once and one of the techs (sorry I didn t get your name) and they were just as awesome to me! Great overall experience everytime!

I have a European car that I had towed here for service. Even though I had a diagnostic from another place that was one day old, they insisted on me having another one. I knew I needed a serpentine belt and an alternator and communicated this to them. I also told them I had found an new alternator at AutoZone for $400 and as they would not let me buy and supply my own parts, I asked them to provide the least expensive one as I am on a budget and it is expensive to repair my vehicle. They called me after the diagnostic and said that I needed $6,000 in repairs. I told them I only wanted to get the car running and just repair what I asked. I signed an estimate of $900. Before they finished the repair, they told me I needed a tensioner pulley and had to put one on. All told, my bill was well over 1,300 with the alternator being almost double what I priced. They snuck in no warranty on parts even though the owner and I discussed that "eventually" the belt would fail again. I picked up the vehicle at 5pm, drove it less than 5 miles home and parked in the garage for the evening and night. Then the following morning, I drove one mile to WalMart and it froze up on me. I had to have it towed and it has been sitting in my garage ever since. It has been almost a month. I called that same morning and receptionist quoted a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty which is their standard. The owner called me back and said he was NOT going to even look at it or repair it unless I gave him 6,000 or 7,000. And said he did not give me a warranty. This is a bogus outfit. They need to scam single women to get ahead. They don't honor their word and they overinflate their parts and don't honor there estimate or warranty. They do ineffective work that does not last for even 6 miles of driving . They are rude and arrogant. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE THESE BUSINESS. MONEY HUNGRY. They give the automotive business a very bad name. My sister also sent a review and the owner's response included lies .. He said, I was teary-eyed and begged him to help me... Please .. what a joker and I Did NOT buy it from a junkyard. Wow what a bogus company. I told you what I wanted done and was not going to bend to the pressure you were trying to put on me. I was going to take it to an auction but you did not even get it running long enough to do that. I have read the reviews and Not one time is it ever their fault. It is always the consumers fault. Go figure. Be wise people. Take your business to an honest shop.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection

I called a few places before and was quoted pretty much the same prices. Aardvark quoted about $50 cheaper but more importantly gave me a couple options that might get the repairs paid for. It didnt work out and I had to pay out of pocket, but no one else tried to save me money. The work performed was timely and I got my car back CLEAN. Like they actually washed it inside and out. It's been two weeks and my brake booster is working perfect. I'm now a loyal aardvark customer!Service: Brakes

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. So you have a Mercedes and you want it fixed properly? then you'll want to go here. IF you choose a shop unfamiliar with the brand you're playing with straight fire. This is the only place in town I will take my Mercedes from now on. I use to use them when I drove Mercedes years ago and for some reason didn't when I got another one, resulting in spent a ton unnecessarily replacing parts with another shop. There is not a better shop than Aardvark when it comes to Mercedes and probably other brands. They might as well be the dealer, that's how good the quality and service is here. I can't say enough about how happy I am. They are fast, friendly, and the best trained techs I have encountered in the area.
