Mejia Part 1I was stranded out on Hwy 281 in the middle of no man's land. Transmission gave out. I am by far nowhere near being a transmission mechanic. AAA arranged for my tow into the closest GMC/Buick dealership which was in Edinburg, TX. The service person at the desk pretty much told me since I wasn't from there I was not going to get any attention until the locals got serviced first. His exact words were, "we have people from here that have been waiting for 2 weeks... we won't get to you for 3 weeks". Is this the attitude I'm going to be running into down here? Well, first of all I "was" born in the RGV. I live in Texas City, TX. The tow driver said take it to Lino's. He's the best around. By this time... I am exhausted and about ready to scream at the first stray dog that came walking by... I called Lino's... I explained my situation... Albert said, bring it in. I can't assess it until tomorrow... Well, he didn't call me the next day, he called me that "same" day and told me what the problem was, how much and how long it would take. I know they could tell I was stressed out when I first walked in. He said we'll get you back on the road as soon as we can. They got right on it... I said Ok boys... do your thing...so far, I'm feeling very confident. Stay tuned for "Mejia Part 2", the final outcome...Arturo MejiaTexas City, TXMejia Part 2Having to leave my truck in an unknown area made me feel very uneasy to say the least... but I had to trust Lino and his crew. At first Albert was telling me it would be a week before he could have it back... by the time it was all said and done, Lino's crew had my truck ready in 1.5 days from the time they removed, rebuilt and replaced my transmission. I flew in Tuesday morning. By 3:30 that same afternoon I was getting a call from Albert saying my transmission has been installed, tested and is ready to be picked up... Wednesday morning I left McAllen and was heading to Texas City. I had "0" problems. It ran smoothly and transmission oil temperature stayed well within the given guidelines. I was just beside myself on how Lino's crew treated an out of towner with respect, dignity and compassion. they are number 1 in my books. Unlike the GMC dealer in Edinburg. All my possessions were right where I left them in my truck. I am so grateful to Lino's. For my check up on my transmission, I will make the trip to McAllen. I highly recommend Lino's to anybody.

I had an exceptional experience at Lino's Transmission Shop! From the moment I walked in, their friendly and knowledgeable staff put me at ease. I've been having issues with my car, some shaking, no one ever got it right to what it is, spent alot of money on it before coming to them. Been very stressed about it, it's my only car, I'm a single mother so yea. Brought my vehicle to get checked and they quickly let me know the issue and was not charged for the check up. God has been hearing my prayers. I was very surprised, I literally left in tears of joy. May God bless you all and thank you so much! You don't know how much help you all were to me. They are highly recommended by many. Have been there a few times and the service price and quality of job were great. Had a rebuild and was great. Does my maintenance on trucks too. Remember you get treated the way you treat people. Anywhere you go it should be like that. These people have put in the work to have an established business. They tell you like it is. Took my Nissan Rogue and he did a diagnostic and puns out it was a step motor part that we needed to change. So I ended paying an Excellent and fair price, I thank Mr. Lino for his honesty and professionalism at this industry. Lino is great. Super honest guy. Just look in their service lot to know: State Trooper and Border Patrol vehicles, which means Lino s had their contract. That s all I needed to know. Brought one of my trucks here, but Lino couldn t find anything wrong. Not only did he not charge me, but he drove it to the next shop himself. Do yourself a favor and just take your vehicle here.Service: Transmission

Lino and his son tried their best to figure out what was wrong with my car, but no matter what they did it just didn't work. I appreciate their efforts, and they are very good people. My family has been taking our vehicles here to Lino for years. We don't trust anyone else to look under the hood. They'll give it to you straight, and have the job done in a timely manner. Don't look elsewhere! Best of the best work.

As a woman I m always cautious of repair shops. I took my car 1st to Bert Ogden Nissan dealership and was given the usual take advantage of a woman dance. Quoted about 2 thousand in repairs. I asked Lino s for a second look. Apparently none of the issues from BO Nissan quoted were real and my original issue was only going to cost me $125.00 at Lino s and they evaluated & fixed my vehicle in less than 24hours. Sent somebody to my home when my wife's truck wouldn't start (I work in Houston) even tough it was unrelated they helped out free of charge, they back up their work and will go beyond to make sure their customers are taken care of.

I got a transmission fluid change here and I couldn't be more satisfied. The workers here treat your vehicle like one of their own. Workers are very knowledgeable and the price is just right. They've been around for 32 years and Lino knows his stuff. Like any transmission fluid change, it took about 1-2 hours to get the service done. He only schedules transmission fluid changes on Saturday mornings. Anyway, friendly staff and affordable. Will be doing my next change here for sure.

Great service, very honest about what services your vehicle needs and they don t try to upsell you on stuff your vehicle doesn t need. Other places love to sell you services you don t need while Linos is blunt about what yours needs.Fast turnaround, honest and reasonable prices. Avoid chains like National Lube Express and take your vehicle to Lino s.

Very courteous. Very quick with my car and I recommend this place it's a little difficult to get to just read the sign and it lets you know where you can enter as far as coming into the business but other than that great place great service I give it five stars very very good place to take your car/truck or vehicle. Highly recommend.

Really horrible experience with this place. I went to get my inspection done and I asked if i could go with him (I wasn t gonna drive he was) because my car is too low and I didn t want him to scratch the bottom and he gave me an attitude and when he was leaving to check the car he floored it Infront of me. Then he told me that my perfectly car failed the inspection because of the wipers.. my wipers were perfectly good condition and he just tried to find any excuse to fail my car so I could waste more money. There was a car before me not to be rude but the car looked super old and he didn t even check Anything on it and on mine he went under the car and check anything he could possible find. Really bad experience if you asked me. Not recommend at all..Services: Transmission, Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Oil change

Took truck in due to constant shudder which I thought was my torque converter. It was taken out for a test drive and afterwards I was told that it did not appear to be the torque converter. The problem with my truck was much simpler than what we originally thought and they were able to fix the problem. They were dead on with the issue and fixed it for a much less price than what it would have cost for a torque converter. I appreciate the honesty which is really hard to find now a days. The service mechanic which I didn't get a first name, but got his last name (Dominguez) was really great and patient with me at explaining what was going on. As of this post my problems with the truck have not repeated themselves so a big thanks to Lino's team.Service: Transmission

What a wonderful experience...at first glance...looks like a discombobulated organization because of the amount if work they have....but i was in and out in 1 hour...Very knowledgeable..very professional...your superb hometown small business doing customers RIGHT!!PRICE was also on point!!Highly highly recommend!! I took my Audi TT into Lino's b/c auto lost first gear on a manual transmission. The professionals at Lino's fixed the issue in a couple days for only $125. When other mechanics were afraid to tackle the problem, this team took it on and excelled in every regard. I would highly recommend these guys for their excellent customer service, quality of work and honest, trustworthy integrity. 5 STARS!

I have used Lino s a few times over the years. I drives over 2 hours to bring my transmission problems to him. He stands behind his work with honesty and integrity. He is worth the travel to know that you are getting a good job.

Called them friday and was told I could not drop off my car until monday morning. I let know that Monday morning wasn't possible . Asked if Monday afternoon was possible. I was told yes. I get there about 13:05 and they immediately tell me they can't take it in until the next day. I mentioned fridays phone call and it didn't seem to matter. I also explained that the transmission was barely working , and that didn't matter. I finally tell them that if they don't take it in , I'll take it some place else. The boss man tells me " take it somewhere else". Best part is they sit there watching me have to push the car because it won't go into reverse. Anyway , that was some good advise. Take it somewhere else. Thanks.

21 Jan 2020.Excellent diagnostic service, competent technicians and a true concern to provide quality service at a very honest and reasonable price. My Class C RV was severely underpowered, did not shift properly and had a severe transmission oil leak. The initial diagnosis was a plugged up catalytic converter restricting the motors performance to the point of preventing proper rpm for normal shifts. Once that work was done at a recommended muffler shop, Lino Transmission completed an exhaustive transmission diagnostic and fixed the transmission oil leak caused by a sub standard gasket torqued to the point of ondulations the mounting points for the transmission oil pan. The pan was straightened a proper gasket installed and the leak solved..Many garages would not have bothered to repair as most garages are in the parts replacement business.. Bravo to Lino and staff for keeping honesty, craft and responsible workmanship alive.highly recommended - Alain Th�berge 5star

This place was referred to me from a co-worker. I needed a motor, without getting more than one professional diagnosis you're pretty much at the mercy of the shop that you bring your vehicle too. I paid 2500. For a motor and transmission they found in a junkyard, they wouldn't give me more than a thirty day warranty, no information on the parts that where installed. I waited around one month to get my equinox back.

Fixed my truck the first time around. Yet with all their work, it took longer than expected. Nonetheless, i would still recommend them. Good workmanship!!
