Very pleased with the service provided by Joe and his crew. It took just a little less than a week from start to finish but we are back on the road. Olga was very kind and helped us secure financing through Synchrony with a special rate of 0% for 6 months.I highly recommend them if you need transmission work.

I called them ahead and they said they'd let me know when the tow truck got there and they never called. I tried calling repeatedly just to confirm that it even made it there. It wasn't until I managed to bum a ride 2 days after just to drive by in order to confirm that they even got it. Afterwards I spent the next week non-stop calling only to go to voicemail and when I reached someone get blown off. Meanwhile I made sure to be patient but the only time I manged to hear from them was when they decided to call and tell me that I needed to move my vehicle because I left it there too long. All the meanwhile after 18 days they had already done a diagnostic and refused to get back to me after numerous phone calls. In the end it's a huge slap in the face to show patience just to be told I'm taking too long to remove my vehicle after desperately trying to know if they even got it in the first place. Having a very dynamic schedule with me and my wife being military/nurse made everything extremely difficult. Bottom line that's just bad business, just tell me y'all are too busy in the first place.

About two weeks ago my 2002 Ram pickup had a massive driveshaft failure and subsequent transfer case disaster while driving across Texas, 30 miles outside of Abilene. The wife and I were stranded in Abilene, with the mishap occurring on Thursday evening. Vehicle was towed to Dodge dealer, their solution was to buy a new truck. Finally on Monday morning I got in touch with Joe from Big Country. He said he could take care of my truck. Within one week he got the new drive line and transfer case and my truck was up and running again for a very reasonable price( way cheaper than a new truck). Thanks to Joe and his mechanics for all their help. There s a place in heaven for good transmission/driveshaft guys!!

What a wonderful experience!Joe and his crew are 1st class!Called me set up the appointment, took my truck in and diagnostic. Set an estimate stuck with it in an incredible fast time as promised, delivered on time and in perfect condition.Can't say enough about Big Country Transmission!!Thank you for you Joe!

I come in with transmission issues dropped off they worked with my extended warranty company and communicated with me through the entire process. The repair to rebuild my transmission was very quick. Joe is a nice, honest guy. He explained codes to me and why certain codes were reading. And he suggested checking for warranties, to save me money at the dealership. I appreciate his knowledge and kindness.

The best experience during the most trying of times. Joe even encouraged a second opinion. Went to a local dealership and found Joe was spot on and gave him my business for less. My car is better than when I purchased it last year. He is quick, efficient, and an honest family man. Thanks Joe!!!

Had my transmission rebuilt by them few months back and since then I have had to take it back twice for repairs (once for pan leaking fluid and second time for solenoid replacement). Transmission was still under warranty thank goodness. Very disappointed with our experience. This most recent time they had our vehicle for over a week, we called for update and receptionist stated she would have the mechanic call us back. Never got a call back and after a few days we finally got a answer from them. They had stated that the wrong part was sent and it would be a few more days. Now we are going on 3 weeks with no vehicle. We have called numerous times to get updates and they keep telling us it will be a few more days. Finally my husband had to go up there today and talk to the owner. He couldn t give us an answer why it has taken almost 3 weeks to replace the solenoid, and that he guarantees it will be done tomorrow. My husband expressed our frustration that we have not received any updates and that since it is warranty work they have just been putting it on the back burner. We will NEVER take our vehicle back to them after everything we have experienced. I don t doubt that we will have more issues after they rebuilt the so called transmission and have had to take it back twice now.Update: We have had nothing but problems since the rebuilt. Have had to take it back a total of three times for repairs. Fast toward 10 months later, after (second opinions from three different shops) we have to get a new transmission once again due to poor prior rebuild So here goes another 3k down the drain! Do not take any vehicle to them or you will be in the same position.

Just needed my linkage adjusted. Kept my truck for 2wks and fed me lies about my radiator. I will not used them again. I could say alot more about the work they did and what they charge me,but God don't like ugly.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Outstanding customer service. Polite, knowledgeable and explained issues so that anyone could understand what was going on. Extremely fast compared to other shops estimated time frames. They fixed my transmission right the first time with no issues. and have a great warranty just in case anything arises. I highly recommend them for any transmission issues, hands down the best IMO.Thanks for the great work guys, deeply appreciated!

These guys had my pickup tied up for 3 weeks and never even fixed it. I called and couldn't get a straight answer on how long it would take. They may be good mechanics, I'm not sure, but they are awful business men who have no concept of customer service and transparency.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Big Country. I drove from GA to CA and my Transmission blew right on a Friday evening, right in the middle of Texas. They came in, on the day they were closed, and fixed me right up. Joe came and picked up my car (that was 45 mins away in the next town, Cisco). On top of that, they had my car back up with in 2 days. Everyone there was completely nice and polite, and Joe was very thorough about the entire process, keeping me informed every step of the way, offering to take me places when it had to stay overnight, etc. Whole thing was $2200. It also comes with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty - THAT THEY HONOR!!! I had a situation with it, where I brought it back when I was on my way back to GA, and I stopped in and they completely redid the whole thing. Didn't try and hassle me or tell me that the issue was void of the warranty. Just jumped in to make sure my transmission was better than ever. I wish that EVERYONE could come here when they have transmission issues. Just real, honest, hard-working people.

Took weeks longer than they quoted, which would be fine, things come up, but there was minimal communication until this week and they've told us every day it would be ready only to not have it ready. Said it would be ready Monday even though they ordered a part that same day! We keep making plans to pick up the vehicle based on nonsense.

I am not a big reviewer and I really don't like to talk bad about or hurt other businesses as I am a business owner myself, but sometimes it just has to be done. We purchased a car in Dallas and drove it home. The car ran perfectly the entire way home. No glitches, no check engine lights, perfect. The day after we got it home the car surged, locked into 1 gear and set a check engine light. We took it to our technician and they told us to go to a transmission shop because there was a solenoid that was setting the code. They gave us the code and recommended Big Country Transmission. We took the car to Big Country on a Tuesday and was told that the owner was at a funeral but that they would get the car in later that afternoon. The guy that took our information was very nice. He told us that they would call us and let us know what they found. We never got a call that day. By the end of the second day, when there was no call, I called them to see if they had any information. I was told that they were just now getting the car in to look at it and we would get a call either later that evening or first thing in the morning. The next day by noon we had not heard anything. I called and spoke to one of the employees and he said the guy that looked at it was out on a test drive and just as soon as he got back I would get a call. At 6pm that night my phone still hadn't rang. I called and talked to someone else. He said again, the owner was out on a test drive but that he would personally call me back in 30 minutes with SOMETHING. 2 hours later and well past their business hours I still hadn't gotten a call. The next morning I was very frustrated. I called and talked to yet another employee. He calmed me down and assured me that they would get back with me very shortly. More than likely they were going to have to overnight a part but that at any rate it would be finished by Monday (this phone call was on Thursday). He told me that they would give me a call once they knew for sure what was going on and what the cost of the part was going to be. I decided to relax and not call them again until Monday. After all, that is what I was told "the car would be done by Monday". I didn't hear from them again. On Monday I called and the owner was VERY rude to me on the phone. Apparently after several days of not getting phone calls like I was told I would, I'm not allowed to be frustrated with their business. Needless to say on Monday they didn't know any more about my car than the day I took it in. Remember, I told them the code that was in the computer and exactly what the car was doing and what our personal mechanic told us. At the end they didn't know anything more. I'm not an impatient person. If they had told me the day we took the vehicle in that they were over a week out then I would have said fine! That's not what they told me. They told me that I would hear from them later the first day. And then I was told MULTIPLE times that I would get a returned call. You would think they didn't have my phone number because my phone NEVER rang. They never called me. I don't have any idea how good their work is. They may be the best transmission shop in Abilene with the best prices. Unfortunately I will never know. All they had to do was communicate with me. I would not recommend this shop!

I took my car there a few yrs ago. They were SUPER NICE and I even gave them an awesome review. They even washed my car and had it delivered to my job. My car ran awesome for about 3 weeks. Then it literally left me and my daughter stranded. They towed the car back to there shop and said nothing was wrong it was just cause it had been raining and he said the computer board got wet??? It kept happening though. They told me to bring the car back again, I explained that I needed my car back for work asap. They kept my car for 3 weeks AND DIDNT DO A DAMN THING!!! Claimed They didnt have time. I payed them 1,500 too!!!!

They had our car for 2 weeks to run a diagnostic test and never did it. Every time we called for an update we were told a different story. We were given multiple dates it was to be completed and come that day it still wasn't done. I would never recommend this place to anyone. We received horrible customer service and the test was never done nor were we given a print out of anything that was done or checked. Supposedly he drove it to figure out the issue but couldn't give us anything or tell us specifically what was wrong.

I highly recommend Big Country Transmission ,not only did they find two almost impossible parts we needed the customers service was outstanding. I have been around automotive shops all my life and never once has anyone taken the time to explain things to a customer the way Joe did. He went above and beyond his job by asking questions to make sure we had all we needed , copying diagrams of the transfer case explain where everything went and sat down with us before we left and went over everything thing once again to make.sure we.were convenient on what we needed before we left . Not to mention giving us a cell phone number incase we had questions in the future or needed exta parts. This guy and business are a 5 star. Thanks Joe !!!

I had a disabling shifting problem with my venture van. Big Country Transmission towed it to their shop and repaired the problem quickly. The charges were fair . Monster Transmission Certified Installer and Warranty Service Center. Called many locations getting quotes around Abilene. Big Country Transmission was the best quote. Also found out that they are certified by Monster Transmission for warranty repair. Called the shop and spoke with Mrs. Chivera. She was very good at answering my questions. And if she didn't have an answer, She placed me on a brief hold until she got it. I called to schedule a drop off after 5pm. She said that's not a problem. The young man that was there was manning the business was kind a gracious. Mind you this was on a early Friday evening. He was not in a hurry. He even assured me that he would pull the transmission down from the bed and secure it in the shop. He then said your truck will be in lock up across the street. Note: My truck was there 12 days and it was not messed with. Then Mrs Chivera calls me to let me know that the core return paperwork was out of date after the job was done. She also let me know that the truck was ready before the scheduled pick up which was the following Friday. We had a death in the family and had to leave town for a week. Mrs. Chivera was most kind and gracious. Did not charge me extra for not picking up the truck while we were out of town. That's Excellent Customer Service In My Book. They are Family Friendly, Veteran Friendly. Oh and the test drive went great after picking the truck up. Very Happy!!Mark ReaserAbilene TX

I had my transmission rebuilt on my 07 gmc 4x4 and I got it back and had ended up taking it back a couple days later cause it was leaking bad ! Took it back got it back ran okay for a week and started messing up like the way it was when I took it to them ! I paid 4500 and I took it the chevy house and they told me nothing was rebuilt in it there was so much trash in it a paint wasn t fixed right and that I had some pan bolts that were broke ! Don t take your vehicles here wasted money

Would not recommend them based on efficiency and communication. They have had our van for 3 weeks and we haven't heard yet when it will be done. The reception lady told us to stop calling. It's our only vehicle and I have drs appointments and my husband has to go to work. Very unprofessional.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

If there was a negative star rating this would be the place! HORRIBLE Service! They never answer the phone...better yet have answers to anything. The mechanics say one thing then tell you another. Coming back from San Antonio in the middle of the night I ran over something and got stranded in the middle of no where a few miles from Junction. I found a tow to get me to the nearest hotel. I was devastated, a single mom, and I didn't know what to do. Thankfully they towed me back home and put my car back together. they are honest and reasonable and although they get busy you know you'll be taken care of.
