Spent lots of money on my truck here including a B&D transmission. Install not great and they won t make it right. Don t waste time or money here. Got it right by another place and here s what they messed up. I took truck to Dons a month or so after install in 2020 because I was getting a torque converter error code and they told me I only needed a tuner if it kept throwing code. They straight up lied to me instead of trying to fix the install issue.See below the fix (done by a stand up shop in ABINGDON)of the incorrect install done by Dons. During disassembly, found double stacked end play washers, over heated torque converter, and damaged valve body internal casting. Due to low converter lock pressure, converter clutches slipped from internal leak. As the slip became worse more debris was introduced into the fluid causing more damage to clutch packs and bands. Torque Converter was cut open, relucthed and rebalanced. Valve body channel plate was replaced and rebuilt with Trans go shift kit. Forward clutch pack was reassembled with GPZ clutches, and a new bellville spring. Direct clutch was modified to run 7 clutches, and overdrive brake clutch pack was modified to run more clutches. All gaskets, bushings, seals and bearings were replaced. End play was corrected with the correct intermediate shaft shim and a Over drive case saver.Service: Transmission

They actually charged me less for labor than they quoted me, they installed a new dual disk clutch in one day, and they were easy to schedule with. I highly recommend Don s especially if you have a Dodge/Ram truck.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Just moved to the area and happy to find a reasonably priced place to bring my truck in for service.Dealers will tell you it will take over twice as long as what the job really takes.They are currently looking for mechanics, so be patient when you're trying to schedule work.

This is a well-run operation with the owner on-site. They are very professional. These guys work on all diesels from farm tractors to large trucks. They worked on my two Mercedes Sprinter vans, which call for technical proficiency, and require specific diagnostic software that most private mechanics do not have. They did an excellent job. I also found them to be honest. They are off the beaten path, but worth the extra distance.

Absolutely great people! Do very good work and stand behind their work. While traveling to Bristol, TN from IN, my boyfriend and I's 2004 Dodge Ram decided to completely shut off on us while cruising about 75mph down the interstate (while pulling a 40ft trailer). What ended up happening was our intake fuel pump decided to go out on us. Stuck in the middle of nowhere knowing nobody, we contacted Don's shop after a local racer stopped to check on us and recommended his shop. After explaining the situation, Don personally came out to where we were broke down (about an hour away from his shop), towed us, replaced our pump, and delivered us our truck at the local drag strip. All in the same day. The pump was brand-named, the work he and his mechanics performed made our new fuel pump easier to get to, not to mention he squeezed us in with his already schedule clients on a Thursday morning, and then he personally drove it back to us. Very thankful for all of the services he and his team provided for us in a desperate time of need as well as going out of his way to get it back tonus the same day. It's nice to know there are some good, well-meaning auto shops out there still to help two people 300+ miles away from home.

We were treated by the owner as if he had always known us.. Very friendly and I believe he is a very good machanic, I will definitely be taking my diesel work trucks back to him

My 2015 Ram 2500 needed a new turbo.They instaled a new Cheetah Fleece VGT turbo on my truck. Runs great now excaust brake works now very happy with truck.

Needed a starter taken off a skid steer loader...was about 5 miles from their shop..I was stuck without the tools I needed...they sent a truck and two mechanics...took out two bolts and handed me the starter....took 5 minutes...charged me 150.00.......thats right....150.00...for 5 minutes work...but they knew it was 1 and a half hours home to get mine... would never use again...I'd burn the machine first....but the guy was nice....at 150.00 for 5 minutes work... how much is that an HR.....I figure most people are one time customers....I know I am

Wouldn t fix my truck told me it would be done by Tuesday and they didn t start working on it till the next 2weeks I called to check up on it and don (the business owner ) was a complete jerk told me he doesn t have to do business with me and told me my truck was parked outside the gate with the keys in the flatbed I will never go back I Hurd a lot of good things about the shop but when I went to take my Ford F-250 7.3 in they wouldn t even work on it till 2 weeks later after telling me it would be worked on 3 days after I took it in and never was finished I had to fix it myself and it was something simple and they couldn t even do it their self I was getting glowplugs put in and a valve cover harness put in and they couldn t do it

They did work on my truck that I didn't ask them to do. The total cost was 600.00 dollars higher than the original estimate. I felt like they should have contacted me before doing the work.
