I m a little behind on my reviews, but 2 years ago I had a problem with the clutch going out in my mustang. I carried it to a local transmission shop that basically kept giving me the run around. They had my car for over a month and never touched it. I went and got it and brought it over here to Chips transmission. Wow!!!! Wish I had came here first. Car was ready in a few days. They charged me 60% less than the other place quoted me. 2 years and 40K miles later it s still running perfect. Just glides through the gears easily. They were kind, friendly and understanding. They were total professionals. They had heard rumors about the other place but they didn t take advantage of the situation to talk trash about their competition. They were just concerned about getting my car right, and that they did. Honesty and integrity is something that s becoming rare to find in the automotive repair industry. When you find someone like that you stick with them. I m sorry it has taken so long for me to get around to posting this. I have an upcoming project I m planning on with my car and this will definitely be where I go. Thanks and God bless!!

I just wanna take a few minutes and thank chips transmission for fixing my 2019 gmc acadia Lester at chips transmission got me and my husband in there with no problems at all 5 stars definitely recommend chips transmission all your transmission needs Lester kept us updated since day one of the truck being in the shop thank yall so much. Yall are definitely a blessing.

Took my truck here to get a transmission oil leak fixed. The older man that took down my information was super friendly and said he would call me with information as soon as he could. He called me a couple of hours later with the diagnosis and told me that the part I needed was already ordered and truck could be ready as soon as the next day. The next afternoon I got a call that the truck was fixed and ready to go. It was a very quick process and they did made sure to keep good communication with me about our baby. They were also very reasonably priced, hope I don't have to get anything fixed on it again soon but if I do will definitely be going back to these guys. Thank you!

Great folks! Manager worked very hard to find a solution for my transmission problems. Ended up having to replace the whole thing. Excellent work, would recommend to any one with a problem, to check these guys out first! They will take care of you! A special Thanks to Phil for going above and beyond to get me moving!

We broke down while on vacation and had to leave our vehicle in Tennessee to travel back home 7.5 hours via a rental vehicle. We were recommended Chip's Transmission. I contacted them, they arranged for the tow to the shop, diagnosed the problem and installed a reman transmission. They were very professional and made the repair and process as seamless as possible. Especially in an unfamiliar area. Would highly recommend for transmission work.Service: Transmission

It's almost impossible to find a shop nowadays that you can trust. I was blown away by the honesty and friendliness of the guys at Chip's. They were able to help me figure out the best solution to my transmission issues, and didn't do any repairs that may have made things worse. I would trust taking all of my cars to Chip's - these guys are the best!Service: Transmission

I came in with a broken transmission, and explained that I had a short deadline as I needed to have my car by the end of the week. Not only was the initial "guesstimate" for the cost very accurate. They managed to get my car done way ahead of the estimated time. Very honest and friendly people, who will tell you exactly what is wrong with your car.

Very professional. Very knowledgeable. They re trustworthy. No bs. Stewardship of personal property is so rare today in the service industry and these guys are honest and they do what they say in a respectful and reasonable timeframe. I trust my wife s van and business vehicles with these guys.

My sons transmission went out while on vacation we were recommended this shop by the local tow truck company and are we thankful we were. From walking in the door to the communication in the 8 days they had it they far surpassed our expectations. I was on vacation when visiting Pigeon Forge, when my Ford Explorer decided to break down with some Transmission issues. I was referred by another mechanic there to call Chips they specialize in fixing Transmissions. I called them they were able to get me in and fix my Explorer right away and worked with my warranty company to do so. I would highly recommend using them for any of your Automotive Maintenance needs. The guys at Chips were very very Knowledgeable, professional, and nice. My Explorer was diagnosed and fixed properly in a timely manner and I have had no issues with my Explorer after returning home.Service: Transmission

Highly recommend. Don't judge a book by it's cover. These guys know their stuff and will do what they can to accommodate you. Don't wait for transmission problems to happen, service it while you can.

Chips transmission is a really good place to go. They care about your car and you. We have had other issues with our car that has made our car feel like the transmission is messed up after we replaced it. They have helped us to figure out what is was and it wasn't the transmission. They might not mess with the engine but they do what they can to point you in the direction of where to go. The transmission they put in for us works perfect. If you are needing a transmission go to chips they will treat you right and they don't over charge for what they do. I towed my car in to Chip s transmission, having been told it was a transmission problem . Well it wasn t but the amazing customer service was above normal they truly went beyond what they had to, to get me back on the road. Towing with a 20 year old truck can be trying. I attempted to pull across a mountain and blew out my front transmission seal. The tow company sent me to Chips and I am 110% satisfied with their quality of work. My issue happened late one Saturday and they didn t work Sunday so, I had to wait until Monday to get it even looked at.They pulled my truck in at 8am Monday morning, called to verify and talk about an estimate for worst case scenario . The service manager called me every step of the way updating the estimate each call. Every time he called it was good news, my estimate kept going down each time. They were precise and extremely courteous and made me feel as if I were at home, even 300 miles from home.They wound up using upgraded heavy duty parts, (torque converter & seal). They called and updated me all along the way. He overshot his estimate and it was actually less than the final call I received from him. Their staff Is friendly, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable.I would use Chips again in the future. Terrible circumstances, great outcome, great customer service, extremely knowledgeable.Thanks for the excellent job & unbelievable turn around!

Was on a family vacation from FL. On the drive up I noticed the transmission intermittently slipping. I called Chip s and they were able to get me in the next day. They checked it out and changed the fluid and filter. Had no issues at all on the trip home, thanks for your great service!

Chip's did an awesome job on my transmission. I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500.They got my truck in and had it rebuilt within a week. The transmission shifts and feels better than it ever has. From Florida, we stayed in Sevierville, TN. for a our Christmas Vacation. While driving in the mountains my truck was really messing up and had no choice but to get the transmission repaired. Thought it was going to cost me a fortune but to my surprise it was not damaged but had an electrical issue, they were very honest about it and didn't cost much. Now my truck runs better than it did and being from out of town they took my truck right away without hesitant even though it was Christmas...I would recommend this transmission shop to anyone and everyone...Thank you again Phil for all your help. Phil and his crew did a great job fixing my truck while we were on vacation from 12/17/20-12/20/2020. They first looked at my vehicle on Friday Morning around 1030 and had it running better than it has in years within a couple of hours. They cared to help me through what was a very stressful problem of being stranded on vacation with no vehicle and were able to not only find out what the problem was but fix it in a matter of hours. I highly recommend these guys and even willing to schedule further work and services around a vacation with them. Thank you so much! My husband and I was leaving to return home from a weekend stay in the Gatlinburg area, when we noticed we had a transmission fluid leak. We tried to get to a dealership, we didn t make it. We called for a tow, thank you AAA! The driver suggested we go to Chips Transmission, he stated good guys, best around. He was correct. They got us in, fixed us up and several hours later we were on our way. Super glad it was just a line and not more serious as we are from Ohio. If you need transmission work, they definitely be worth the drive.Service: Transmission

My experience with the men at Chips transmission was top notch. The service was great. I will not take my car to anyone else if I need work done. They took excellent care of my car and myself. Any questions that I had they went outta their way to help me and answer me. I would recommend them to anyone needed any transmission work done to their vehicle. They were very professional. This shop is fantastic. I consider them trustworthy. Like many others we were on vacation and had the transmission failure. They treated me respectfully and fairly. The price was in line with what I expected and they were able to get the truck back to me the next afternoon. Don t hesitate to take your vehicle here!

VERY POOR QUALITY WORKMANSHIP, we were on vacation when our transmission went out. They got us in right away, 3 days later the bill came to $5000.oo.We didn't drive 10 miles and dash lights started coming on. Drove back to Chips (screw you) shop, they said they never seen anything like it and didn't know how to fix it. They reset the computer and we went to the nearest dealership and traded it in before it broke down again. NEVER DID GET ANY OF OUR $5000.oo back.BUYER BE WARE!

Called the shop a week prior to to taking my truck in. I told them my issue I have a leak in my transmission. Asked for a worse case scenario to seal the leak back up. I was told $200 was worst case scenario for a leak. I was called and told that the leak would be $600-$800 to fix (far cry from the $200 worst case scenario price I was quoted) if they would have said that $600-$800 was worse case I wouldn t have bothered but I figured ok $200 I can do. Not only was I was without my truck for the day but it didn t get fixed and they charged me $104.26 to look at it. I was very disappointed and I m out $100 with nothing to show for it. They did say they will credit the $104 to the repair cost but whats to say it won t become $1200 when the works done.Service: Transmission

We are out of towners who had a bad shaking in our SUV on the way up from GA. Chip s Transmission worked us in very short notice and identified the problem almost immediately. They treated us very fair on the price. Very happy with their service and honesty. Highly recommend for anyone.

I was stranded on the road with my trucks transmission. I tried to get help from the Ford dealerships. They were to busy and had no desire to help me even with my truck being a ford product?? I called 3 dealerships none of them would look at it for at least a week. I stumbled onto Chips Transmission shop on a search on the internet for local shops. They were helpful from the start!! Lester was the service writer got me in with no hassle and Phil took care of my transmission issues and had me back on the road in no time. They knew' I was in a bind with this truck and could have very easily taken advantage of my situation "BUT" THEY DIDN'T.... My truck rental for #2 days was more $ than my repair. GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT PEOPLE ALL THE WAY AROUND! Many THANKS to all at Chips!!!
