A locally owned specialized repair shop with the ability to work on almost any vehicle. Multiple specialty technicians but the owner specializes in diesel tuning and VW, Audi tuning among many other innovative automotive accomplishments. He also currently operates 3 other successful small businesses. So you can spend your money knowing the money is going back into the local economy.

Wonderful experience here. I'm currently making this post on A Saturday. I originally called on a Monday for a 3 hour job and was told that the next appointment wasn't until the next week on Tuesday. But due to hard work I was able to get in two days later on Thursday to get my car back on the road. I would've still been waiting 3 more days to make money so that's awesome. And the mechanic was very informative on future work I need to get done and with his advice and helping my gear shift which was not included in the job I was able to drive my car back 380 miles home with a near blown transmission. Five star for sure.

My experience with People's Choice in Oak Ridge TN was extremely frustrating. I admit to not being mechanically inclined, which is why I bring my vehicles to the "professionals." I had a check engine light on and they kept my truck for 5 weeks before calling me to tell me it was done and I owed $950+ and the check engine issue was fixed. I wrote them a check and left in my truck. Didn't get 1 mile up the road and guess what popped back on?.....yep, check engine light! I pulled into the gas station and put 20 bucks gas in the tank and took it right back to peoples choice(gas tank was almost on E). I asked them to fix it and said I wouldn't have to have it for a week or so if they needed to order a part or something. Fast forward 9 more weeks (yep, they had the truck for 14 weeks and didn't fix what I brought it in for). So, I am out $950+ bucks, didn't have my truck for over 3 months, and the damn check engine light is still on. I am a patient man and a forgiving person. I gave them a chance on multiple occasions and they let me down. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting to get a different result. I will never take any of my vehicles to People's Choice auto repair again and would strongly caution against anyone who considers using their business.

I brought my vehicle in for diagnostic service. They were incredibly quick, friendly and professional. Jessica made sure I knew what all charges were for and explained what each repair meant in the overall health of my car. Straight shooters! All of my vehicles go to People's from now on!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I didn t personally take my vehicle here, but my partner at the time did. Biggest mistake ever. The service took over two months, and when we finally got the car back (after pretty much no communication other than the vehicle kept getting pushed back due to VIP customers and employees walking out), the job wasn t done, things were missing, it was more than quoted, and the engine paid for wasn t even the one that was installed. Oh! And charged for a new item that wasn t even new and wasn t even requested to be changed. Chris is a crook, hopefully he sold the business and they have better practices. I have so much more to say about this place but I will save them the embarrassment and end with this- go literally anywhere else.

Guy had our car for 3 weeks! And it still wasn't done completely. Now we were understanding that a part took longer than he said to get to him. But only updates we got was when we called and he kept saying should have it done in two days. We also tried to be understanding that he is pretty much a one man shop. But when we called it was always ohh well now this issue popped up and that's why the date kept getting pushed back. He said that the emergency break wasn't going back together even though he had all the parts left it in a bag in the car. We pulled it out of his shop drove it to a new place had the car back in 4 hours completely done.I'm not sure what's going on but I do know this place has gone down hill with service this past year. this used to be our go to place but moving fwrd we won't bother

Didn't have the product or service I needed fix a flat or a used tire or plug kit. They did have reasonably priced new tires and friendly staff. Only 50$ to put a new set of tires and rims on that I had previously purchased. They also offered me a bottle of water as I fumbled thru my pockets for change in front of the soda machine. I hadn't even purchased anything. Good people, friendly staff. Hard to find this day and age especially confusing I walked in with a huge backpack overstuffed and dirty as can be from jacking up a vehicle in the dirt and looking rough.

Absolutely the best mechanics I have EVER worked with. I have an older and rather unseal vehicle for this area. It is a recent acquisition and has a ton of issues. These guys took it on like it was an everyday thing. Not a single grumble or complaint. Best attitudes I have ever seen in public places. If you have a vehicle that needs anything done take it to them. They are awesome. I will NEVER use any place else again.

Had my breaks, rotors and a fuel pump sensor replaced. The work took a little longer then planed but I had it back the next day. However, I still had issues. When I called with my concerns I was in Knoxville already, having drove straight there after getting my car. Jessica listened to my concerns, made arrangements immediately to have it towed and within a few hours they had resolved the issue. I trust the mechanics there, and simple mistakes like tightening the drums too tight happens. But for me, someone who is not mechanically inclined and smells burning rubber it is an anxiety moment. But the staff handled it well, the tow company was professional and fast. I have no problems with bringing my car back again or referring other to them.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Brake service & repair

Worked here for 2 years. Went through 13 technicians. Every single one quit besides 2, myself and my buddy. Until today. Good techs but the owner is a complete con artist. Watched him several times overcharge customers for simple repairs, "just because we can". Chris, the owner, would ALWAYS short my paycheck and had an excuse every time.(hence all the previous techs quiting shortly after being hired) I recently quit as he shorted my check by 5 hours for a third week in a row. No benefits whatsoever. Kept asking me to buy shop equipment. Would continuously have police in serving paperwork over lawsuits due to dishonorable work. 3 customer vehicles have been in the shop SINCE I STARTED 2 YEARS AGO and haven't been touched, with many ignored calls from the owners of course. DO NOT COME HERE.

People's Choice has sometimes surprised me at the counter when things weren't entered into the computers right, however they've always made it right and done business honorably. They've had a few opportunities to leave me high and dry because of my car being in poor shape but they've always made sure I'm well taken care of.The first time I came here I needed an immobilizer repaired and every auto shop in town thought I was talking about getting a breathalyzer installed, but this was the only shop that actually knew what part I was talking about and was able to get it installed and fixed. Then when I had to get my power steering pump replaced, they were able to fix that and a few other problems from the last guy I had work on it (some crossed threads and improperly installed hoses), and they worked with me very generously on the price considering the parts that went into it.Chris is the owner, I've dealt with him a few times, and he does business the right way. I'll come here even if somewhere else quotes me a better price to know I won't get swindled and that things will be taken care of every time hands down.

Blazer 2004, bought new, only owner. My car had all kinds of little problems here & there. Took it in to have it "gone over". Left it a week while on vac. They went through everything. Got it back and couldn't be happier. Runs awsome, like new. Jerry Hunter was my mechanic, great guy! Staff was also great & professional. Cost me a bit, but well worth not having to l k for a new car with a new car payment. Thousands of miles from home the dreaded check engine light came on. We took our Honda to them. They got us right in and identified the problem, got it repaired and we were on our way. About 8 miles down the road the check engine light came back on. Back we went. Seems that Hondas are particular beasts and don't work with after market parts. They stood behind their work, replaced the parts with OEM parts at no cost. Good honest hard working folks. If your car breaks down around Oak Ridge, take it to People's Choice.

Peoples Choice saved the day. After waiting half the day for another shop to fix the brakes on my Mother-in-law's car, we found out they hadn't even touched it yet, even though we had an appointment. We called People Choice, explained the situation, and and they assured us they had the parts in stock and could fit us in immediately. They had her back on the road in no time. Fair, fast, ethical, professional & caring. My bill went from $330 to $180; I went for a starter replacement, they quickly found I was wrong about the problem. Discovered a fuel leak, brought the part I needed from Knoxville, total stay of under 2.5hrs.This was the third time I went to them for help. When they did my head-gasket replacement a year ago, it was discovered that I needed an extra $200+ in parts due to cracked heads; they still honored the [$1200] original estimate..!Second time, my car died while driving, late at night. I called the mechanic's personal cell, they towed my car, and even offered me a ride home. Diagnosed & fixed the next day.

Nick and the guys did a great job with my truck. Chris is the owner and is very knowledgeable with diesels. He set me up with a tune on the engine and transmission. More power, smoother shifting and better fuel economy.

I had my car towed here when the breaks went out.. they quoted me $800+ and the prices on the parts seemed a little high. I called ford to see how much the parts were and they were more then half the cost they were telling me. Towed my car to another shop, they fixed it for $150 .. the parts they wanted to replace were not even the problem. I hate to think how much it would have ended up costing me if i had not gone somewhere else!

Recently brought in my daughters 1997 Honda Accord needing several different things (complete new breaks on front, radiator hose repairs and flush, oil change with engine flush. The staff was courteous and professional and the cost was reasonable. Highly recommend Peoples Choice Automotive.

I had a great experience with working with People s Choice Auto Repair this past week. I worked with two mechanics, who were Anthony Zimmerman and Eddie, and they shared great car care information. I especially liked how informative Anthony Zimmerman was with the information he shared when he broke down parts of the car that were being analyzed, learning how to listen and be aware of your car issues, and knowing how to take care of your car better and smarter.

We were told we needed a new transmission because there were metal shards in the pan. ?! Two places already said the fluid was clear. Knowing this, my husband and I decided to take our vehicle to a more trustworthy source. The pan was inspected, as was the fluid and the fluid was clear, no shards found!Business full of liars and thieves!OH, also, the owner will charge you without discussing anything with you either!

This place is to absolutely be avoided. They wanted to replace an entire engine, when all that was needed was fuses for the fan and a gasket causing a slow oil leak. They also had several "miscellaneous" charges on the bill, that when asked the origin of, "tools and such" were sighted. So, take from that what you will. The most shocking part was when we were collecting our vehicle, that was supposedly completely undrivable, they drove it up to where the tow truck was. I guess since they weren't doing the repairs any further damage was not their problem.

Kept my car a week over estimated date. $500 later it runs worse than when I dropped it off. I was deceived from the moment they picked up my truck (3 hours late). Paid top dollar for a TERRIBLE experience, and my car still doesnt run. Do NOT take your car to these swindlers. They ruined my month and LITERALLY took food off my kids table by making me pay another garage $300 to fix the same problem. Now I've sank almost $900 into a $300 job. Also, when they picked up my truck I had just filled up. After I got it back, there was WELL less than a quarter of a tank of gas in it. Pretty curious, since the truck hasnt run since they got it. :/Big thanks to Peoples Choice for taking advantage of the working man.And lets not forget my favorite quote from these hot rods as I pick it up..."Yeah, it runs great now... It just won't go above 40 mph (more like 20 mph)."- EricWhat a joke...

Wonderful service for simple and immediate repair.I own a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR, which is fairly low to the ground.Last night it snowed/rained significantly(there was about an inch of ice on the car this morning) and my car's skid plate (big plastic shield under the engine bay) was frozen to the ground. When attempting to reverse out of my parking spot, I inadvertently dislodged the back half of the skid plate, so that the back half of it was dragging on the ground, like a sled, with about 20-30 pounds of ice on it. Since the skid plate was only attached by a few of the front mounts (which are plastic screws), I really didn't want to drive far to get some sort of repair.Other places were either closed at 9 am, or weren't answering their phone, due to the bad weather. Initially, I tried R T Clapp Co, since they were closer, but none of their jacks/lifts would fit under my car. When I called Peoples Choice Auto Repair, they said they'd be able to start when I got there, and told me ahead of time that they may not be able to get parts, should they need it (since the NAPA delivery service may not be possible due to the ice), but that they would definitely be able to fix it so that the skid plate wouldn't be scraping against the ground.Once I arrived, they immediately started on my car. The mechanic had to use a heat-gun to melt the ice to get to all the mounting holes. After about 90 minutes, I was handed my keys and told that I was set. They had repaired the skid plate using fasteners that they had on-hand, but didn't charge me a dime, nor ask for compensation of any kind. For this reason, I feel compelled to write this glowing review about my experience. I would definitely recommend this business to others, and will very likely take my car there in the future, should it need repairs.

They went way above and beyond my expectations. The work was professional and completed faster than the usual. They are easy to talk to, they explained what they needed to do, they answered all my questions, they went out of their way to get me back on the road, they didn t charge me a fortune, AND on top of all that they contacted me a couple days later to make sure everything was still working right. You can t be beat that and I will definitely use their services again!

Don't bother taking your car to these crooks. Swindlers. Shady business. They even stole gas out of my car when they charged me $800 to NOT fix my car. Then the owner called me on my personal cell because his employees (redneck meth addicts) didnt like the way I spoke to them. Even though they didnt have ANYTHING to say to my face. Cowards. Liars. Worthless scum. Do yourself a favor... GO ANYWHERE ELSE.UPDATE: If tou check the profile of the people leaving the '5 Star' reviews for Peoples Choice, you'll see 90% of them have only left one review EVER. Which means these idiots are leaving themselves good reviews from fake accounts to bring their rating back up (it was 1.2 stars.) How pathetic can you moron crooks be?

The shop was recommended to my son and it has been a mess. They have had his jeep two + weeks and have had nothing but excuses. Still not ready after several attempts to pick up. Would NOT recommend this repair shop under any circumstances.

Crooks and thieves. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. They will steal parts off your vehicle and replace them with junk. If you don t listen to any other review on here, consider this one. You take tremendous risk using this crook.

I bought a car from Viles Automotive Group, I was promised a front alignment on my car so they sent me here. These people ended up breaking a bolt underneath my car not only that but welded it back together I've yet to get my car fixed. I would never recommend this place.

My work had a truck worked on here. At first the est. was $2000. After lots of "oh we found this wrong too" it ended up costing closer to $7000. With my background in Auto repair myself, most of the work wasnt needed and the truck never ran the same again.
