After researching Nashville transmission shops, I brought in an older Honda Ridgeline with a slow transmission fluid leak. I appreciate the friendly and straightforward way that these folks do business. They sincerely listened to my concerns and didn't treat the situation as an opportunity to soak the customer with labor hours and parts. Their diagnosis and recommendations were welcome in an industry that has a lot of questionable actors. It's good to find a shop that proves to be trustworthy with competent techs. You can tell that Bass Ewing is a family business that works to maintain a hard earned reputation.

Had my vehicle towed here with a severe transmission issue and had it ready in a week (including the time for parts delivery)! Reasonably priced, fast service, and incredibly friendly. Great communication and updates as well. Thanks again to Rachel for being super helpful and making the whole experience as smooth and easy as possible!

My car was running perfectly fine when I took it to Serra Chevrolet to have my transmission fluid replaced (which was recommended by Chevy). Upon 2 visits to return my vehicle because it was hesitant to go at speeds of 28-32. I received a quote from Serra Chevrolet quoting me $4,904.71 of work that needed to be completed on my 2014 Malibu. I was recommended to take my car to Ewing Bass Garage for a second opinion. Ewing Bass diagnosed my car as lacking 2 quarts of fluid. Which I asked Chevy both visits to check to be sure it was full. I m so very appreciative to Ewing Bass for being honest and saving me a lot of money. For this reason I will recommend them to everyone. THANKS Ewing Bass

Had my beloved truck towed up here after she decided to throw the first tantrum of her life at 98k miles. Rachel has been absolutely WONDERFUL! She has been 100% transparent as they've worked to diagnose the issue, and ultimately recommended me to A.E.S. Services as it seems there are some electrical problems causing the strange behavior I experienced.I am so grateful for their transparency and for recommending me to A.E.S. instead of 'fixing' other things without a definitive answer to what the actual problem is. I have read so many horror stories of folks with similar-sounding issues as mine in their Chevy Silverados, where they would get something 'repaired' just to find out two weeks down the road that the issue is still present. These dang new vehicles and all their computers!Will 100% be back in the future if I have any other issues arise with my vehicles, and would highly recommend anyone in the area give them a visit too if you're in need of a good mechanic!

I brought my Ford Escape to Bass Ewing in early 2020 when my transmission went out. 3 years later all I can remember is I felt like I was treated fairly, the female that I spoke to throughout the process was extremely knowledgeable and I felt assured by her that everything would be handled. Proud to report that my Ford Escape is still rolling along at 204K + miles. Highly recommend!!!!

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. We were in town for an appointment at Vandy Children s when our car started acting weird. They got us right in and got us back on the road home (out of state) in no time. Honest, kind, helpful. All the things. Go there.

Just a wonderful little shop and people. Replaced brakes and rotors with OEM Lexus parts for half the cost of the dealership. Will be taking my car there again for future needs.

My transmission went completely out in my 2017 Dodge Charger, I was so skeptical and did not know where to take my car. I was recommended Bass Ewing took my car to them and within a week they had me a better transmission put in. They gave me a great price they did not rip me off. I will definitely be taking my cars to them. Not to mention the lady in the office definitely knows about cars and what she s talking about. I highly recommend this shop and I will definitely be taking all my cards to them for future maintenance and repairs so happy to have my car back and running!Service: Transmission

Best experience ever! Battery died before I had to pick up children from school. Rachel actually went and picked up a battery herself to make sure it could be installed in time. Very honest, kind, and clear. I came here to get some spark plugs replaced, and they quoted me a fair price for my car's specific needs! You can tell they've seen it all, and are also willing to help educate you so that you can do what's best for your car going forward. This is one of those rare gem mechanics you can trust all the way!

I took my truck there thinking I had transmission problems. After during a diagnostic, they told me had a misfire in one of my spark plugs. I just want to thank them for being honest. They also recommended another shop that could do the job. I will be using them for any other problem I have. If you are looking for an honest repair shop, this is it!!!!!

They are busy and popular! Make sure you call ahead for availability. I needed an oil and filter change and transmission fluid change. Called several times to confirm a spot simply because they are super busy. Rachel was very patient, straightforward, polite. And she kept me updated very well. This shop was absolutely AMAZING.They went above and beyond to help me and I couldn t be more grateful for how kind they were.I was traveling to the smoky mountains from Texas and I ran into some serious transmission issues. I was recommended by another shop in the area to give Bass & Ewing a call. I could tell they already had their hands full, but they still made the time to not only help but to also explain everything to me that needed to be done since I had no clue.Truly great and good hearted people! I recommend Bass Ewing Garage. They were excellent and honest.I am not a caucasian and a stranger, but they kindly explained about the situation and fixed my car at a reasonable price. My car had a problem with a strong shake, especially when I push the brake pedal. They found fore and rear brakes were worn and axles below my car were wrong. I asked them the way to save my money, and they let me know that I didn't have to fix rear brakes now. They also found some inexpensive parts.The total price was reasonable when I asked my friend working in auto company. Our car started to act up around 10am, we called Rachel and she said they could look at it after dinner break (1pm) but we had it there at 11am. They accessed the issue after taking it for a test drive right away, which was before the time estimated...as we were only in town a short window and needed to be at the airport by 5 pm, with this being our daughters transportation and we were only visiting from MN (suitcases in the trunk even)..I think they even missed there lunch break to find the correct part and get it fixed for us. We got a call at 3pm it was finished and ready to be picked up. Rachel was so nice and understood our need for QUICK service and I feel they did go out of there way for us. Very good customer service and the problem was fixed. We have found a new car shop :)

A neighbor recommended Ewing Bass and I have been pleased. I have an older car which seems to have issues frequently. I have taken it to Ewing Bass on more than one occasion and feel they have done good work at a fair price. Today my taillights would not go off so I called Rachel, who is always very friendly and accommodating, and she told me to bring it over. Within 30 minutes they called and said a switch had broken off which they had fixed and it was ready to go. They did not charge me. How often does that happen?

Honest and helpful, yes I've found a dependable garage. I took a newly purchased used Honda there because I thought there might be a transmission issue. They test drove it and then gave me detailed information of what was going on and even called using their contact to get me to the Honda dealership immediately without an appointment. I offered to pay them for taking the time to determine the problem but they would not let me pay. Now that's honest, caring service. I didn't get the mechanics name but he is some kind of car whisperer and Rachael is fantastic. Great shop!

This is the most trustworthy and helpful shop I've ever been to. I seem to constantly break down and Ewing Bass is the only place I like to go in Nashville. They almost always get it done either the day you bring it in or the next day. Rachel will always call you and explain what's going on with your vehicle so you don't feel like you're paying for made up problems or being ripped off. Fast, friendly, reliable, honest, family run business. If you need help this is the place to go!

SO HONEST. Was recommended to them from my usual guys since they were booked solid and couldn't see me for a week or two. I had gotten my oil changed at Valvoline and the attendant told me I had a slight transmission leak - Ewing looked into it and told me it's so slight (the joint is just damp - not even dripping) that they don't need to do anything at this point. If it starts actually leaking (which it may never), I can bring it in, but no need to spend $3-$4k when it's not necessary. They could have easily taken me for thousands of dollars and chose not to. Customer for life right here.
