I am so grateful to Monteagle Tire & Auto! They checked and filled the tires on my boss' auto while I was out. The price was perfect, and they were very quick. MUCH appreciated.

These are awesome people! My car shucked its serpentine belt when I started it at the motel. Since I didn't want the hassle of putting it on myself, I called Monteagle tire when they opened and the lady said bring it in that she would have a mechanic look at it. I brought it in and they got right on it and got me back on the road within 30 minutes! Plus, they didn't charge me an arm in a leg. They could have taken advantage of me but didn't. I just wish I lived closer where I could bring my car in all the time. It's just so hard to find an honest mechanic these days!Service: Engine repair

It was cold, windy and sprinkling that day when my borrowed pickup truck tire caught a nail and was going flat just before the I-24 exit near Dixie Lee Ave. The truck was unfamiliar to me and I was having trouble with changing the spare in a Pilot Store parking space, and I was cold and wet. Fortunately I found Monteagle Tire and Auto. These guys came over quickly and had it changed in a proverbial jiffy; and they had me drive next door to their shop to assure the lug nuts were adequately torqued. They saw I was a veteran or they felt sorry for me, because they did the service gratis! How many times does that happen in your travels? I can t feature a better advertisement for this business or for the City of Monteagle than the service I received that day.Service: Tires

I trust this garage. They saved me behind and didn't charge an arm and a leg. Men with integrity and a work ethic to be proud of.I was passing through the mountains - had a catastrophic bearing failure on my commercial vehicle - within 4 hours I was back on the road. These guys ARE INCREDIBLE.They had me by the short and curlies and could have raked me over the coals - but they fixed my truck IMMEDIATELY - and didn't charge me an arm and a leg.I'd be willing to drive the 100 miles out of the way just to have this garage service my vehicles. 5 stars to all involved.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My son is a student at Sewanee. He had an issue with his car today that required pretty immediate attention. We called around found Monteagle Tire & Auto. We were able to get the car in the same day and fixed. Avery did a great job explaining what was wrong with the vehicle and got it all taken care of within a few hours. He was very kind and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this business and use them again in the future. It is nice to know there are places like this to take care of students while they are away at college when the parents are not there. I am very thankful!

My car broke down and we were looking for a mechanic to come help us figure out why my car wouldn t start. We are traveling back to SC. They sent a technician to us. He was very helpful and polite. The shop was helpful in finding the best solution for my situation. I was given options to decide what I thought was best. There was no pressure in deciding they gave me all the facts and let me decide.I needed to get all my belongings in my car and of course I was carless and the shop went over and beyond to help me with that. I highly recommend this shop. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

An extremely fair and customer-first auto maintenance business. I do not even know where to begin on how considerate the whole staff is. We became stranded on a trip with transmission issues. The team kept our whole family safe and entertained while the vehicle was diagnosed. They then thoroughly explained our options with a high mileage vehicle. Even when I insisted on paying for a diagnostic test, they insisted on me not paying and saving money for the rental car we needed. It is nice to know that reliable and more importantly honest and caring businesses still do exist!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My son and I was on our way to Illinois to celebrate Christmas with family when my alternator went out on Interstate 24. God was gracious enough to help us crest the mountain outside of Chattanooga before everything went dead, and we had enough momentum to take the exit to Monteagle TN and coast into a church parking lot.Ikard Towing transported us to Monteagle Tire and Auto Repair and they graciously worked us into their schedule. The technician who replaced my alternator said it was the toughest he had ever had to work on, but he stayed at it until it was completed, even after time for closing.If you are ever broke down in Monteagle TN I highly recommend Monteagle Tire and Auto for your repair needs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Was on a long Christmas road trip and noticed some symptoms that concerned me. I'd already booked a few nights at a hotel in Monteagle so I dropped by to see if maybe, just maybe they could fit me in and check things out just before they shut down for the Christmas holidays. They made room for me right away, checked things out, and I was able to determine that all was well. However... I did need an oil change, so I went ahead and had them do that while I was there. These folks are friendly and honest... I wouldn't hesitate to have them do regular service on my vehicles if I lived here!Service: Oil change

I had a hub assembly go bad while on the freeway. I limped my truck off the freeway and got to Monteagle Tire and Auto. AMAZING SERVICE!!! Wife and Daughter traveling to Nashville, Stopped for gas, tire sensor alerted them they had a tire going down fast. I searched the web and sent them to Monteagle Tire & Auto. They found the leak and fixed it in less than 20 minutes and had them back on the road. Very thankful for the service and taking care of my girls. My son goes to Sewanee and was having car trouble. I didn't know any mechanics so I asked around the school. Monteagle Tire was recommended. Avery was great to work with. Got my sons car repaired very quickly, kept me updated, and for a fair price. I will definitely use again.

My car broke down on the way back from a trip. Had it towed to Monteagle tire and auto service. I thought it was the alternator. They looked at my car and determined it was a wire that was broken going to the alternator. Monteagle couldn't fix the plug so they recommended a shop close by. Didn't charge me the diagnostic fee. Very honest repair shop. We need more shops like this around. They care about the client and not just the money. Thanks Monteagle Tire & Auto Service.

Had a flat tire situation and our spare's release system was broken. Was a whole ordeal before we made it to this place. They made our spirits light and got everything fixed for $25. I cant overstate how much life is coming out of this shop. Even though our trip was delayed and plans changed, left this place feeling more happy.Service: TiresService: Tires

My mother Jennifer and I were on our way to Florida and had come 1500 miles already when we had some troubles with our vehicle coming up the hills into Monteagle. The shop was quite busy when we pulled in, but we only had to wait for a short time before being helped. The men were very pleasant and even stayed after hours to help us get back on the road that night, a Friday night no less. Very impressed with the mechanics who were also willing to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend Monteagle Tire and Auto, very pleased.

Horrible service . After about 20mins and being asked if had been helped ... Only to not be helped again we left . It was not busy only 1 other customer . Had to leave a start so I was able to leave a review. Otherwise I would give none.Not sure how to reply . But it is definitely the truth. No reason to lie . We were acknowledged again we were asked if we had been helped but no offer to help it was asked in passing.

We got stuck in Tennessee last week on the way to Indianapolis from Orlando. Apparently a rock hit my radiator on the highway. We're out almost $1000 (including the tow and paying someone to pick up the radiator) but the guys here were very nice and helpful. They didn't have a radiator for my car so they had to find someone to drive 115 miles the next morning into the nearest big city to get one. They drove us to a nearby hotel and picked us up the next morning and we were back on the road the next day.

Our car broke down and had towed to this facility. They diagnosed it as a blown transmission so they ordered one and it put in two weeks later. When my wife picked it up last Sunday, she noticed the brakes were not working so she pulled off into the parking lot close to this shop. Not only was the brakes not working, the steering fluid and radiator fluid were both dry. We took it back to the shop and left it. They bled the brakes and we were told three techs test drive it. My wife picked the car up and had not gotten very far down the road when the console and steering went out. She had to take it back to the shop, and they admitted they had broken something. When replacing the transmission. Now I m just hoping the transmission will even be any good.Service: Transmission

My car battery was giving me trouble and I was an hour away from home with no one to call. I was scared and obviously upset when I walked in not really knowing where I was. I didn't have an appointment and I could tell they were super busy but the staff went out of their way to help me. They charged my battery enough for me to make it home and it wasn't until I was a bit down the road that I realized they added some gas in my tank as well, completely free of charge. I cannot recommend this establishment enough and am so grateful for their kindness .

After taking a week longer than promised, costing me $800, leaving my new battery dead (which had been purchased from them), being patronizing on the phone when I called about the truck that had been promised finished days before, and having to do a driveway alignment just to get it drivable to take it somewhere else for alignment I was still just going to leave it at never going back. What you see pictured is the lower bolt for my front strut and the blue ring is the nylon that's supposed to lock the bolt from backing out. That is unforgivable and could have caused a major accident if I hadn't caught it. Do yourself a favor and go twenty miles in either direction if you want to be safe. I expect excuses so here's two down, the bolt previously holding the strut was fine and apparently thrown away. Any competent mechanic would have made sure to find a bolt that worked, especially when charging $800 for unskilled labor. ****Edit**** In response to the childish rant from the owner I'll just add another photo of their "work" where they didn't bother removing the old bushing for the rear shocks and say yes, new suspension lifts become makeshift lifts when mechanics don't install them correctly. Do not trust this shop!Service: Steering & suspension repair

My daughter and I were recently passing Monteagle on a road trip. We noticed an issue with one of our tires, and needed a new one. We decided to spend the night in Monteagle and found that Monteagle Tire and Auto were open fairly early. They had the tires in stock and we went to a nearby restaurant while they were replacing the tire. Before I could finish my bacon, they had already put the tire on. The prices were very reasonable and I would recommend to anyone passing by. Now I am off in my little Scamery.

While driving our daughter down to Alabama for school, our transmission blew out completely in our Explorer. It was a Wednesday night at 10 pm and we barely made it into the rest area. The next day after a rough night we called Monteagle Tire and Auto and came to our rescue!! They came to put in transmission fluid and were able to drive it to their station. Unfortunately there wasn t much to do in a vehicle that old, but the professionalism they showed us was wonderful. They kept it at their station until we made arrangements to pick the car up. We greatly appreciate the help they gave to a bunch of stranded travelers.

Bought a turbo that was advertised as (new in the box but installed once ) for 800.00 took it to mechanic told me it was l froze up in open position. Text Avery he then said his mechanic would call me next day as he didn t offer refunds. No call so I called and talked to the mechanic as he informed me they installed on a truck 2 years prior was there wrong one so they took it off and it sat for 2 years no wonder it was locked up. Lesson learned don t trust folks that don t answer direct questions about why it was new but installed once as his response was he was listing the item not a mechanic. Beware doing business with Avery as he claims he s owner but parts sales at his business isn t related to the business . More reviews I read now more it should have been red flag . Knowing the part was junk just to rip people off . Poor example of ownership of anything hope this helps others with any dealings with Avery

Great work, honest and dependable. Broke down about 80 miles from home with a blown transmission. Recommended by a friend. They got me back on the road for a very reasonable cost. I think I have a new mechanic! Worth the drive for the friendly professional service.

These people truly care about the customer!! They got my parents in for diagnostics followed by quick & necessary repair after running over a piece of metal on the expressway leaving them without brakes right before the mountainous road ahead. They even were sweet enough to accommodate my parents two little dogs, so they didn t have to stand/stay out in the heat on such a hot day. This place was a blessing in my parents time of need!!! Knowing my parents were traveling & their options were limited; this place could have easily taken advantage of them. They didn t!Instead, they were compassionate, empathetic, hardworking people who still believe in the old way of treating people how you want to be treated.Gold Star for Human Decency in a world full of money hungry monsters.Thanks you guys,Daughter of the traveling couple, two little dogs, & a broken brake line.

My wife broke down on I24. From the moment the tow truck dropped off her vehicle at this shop until the moment she got back on the road, these guys' service was STELLAR! They called and communicated with me and her keeping us updated and with realistic timelines for diagnostics, parts and repair. Her experience locally and mine from afar (we live in KY) was great.
