We had a reservation for a 15 foot truck one way and when we got to Union Avenue U-Haul to pick it up, there was no truck. We eventually found a truck over in West Memphis. The whole experience was a comedy of errors. Josh at Union Avenue is very calm and helpful and I commend him because he s awesome. The lady over in West Memphis is also very kind and helpful and it was also crazy over there. We eventually got a truck that was too big and it seemed like we had four other phone calls to try and figure out the fact that we had two Reservations but we finally got it solved. I don t ever want to experience that again. U-Haul should have a better handle on their inventory and not give confirmations when a vehicle won t be there.

The first truck I received had an empty tank. It was made my problem. I was told to put gas in it. Now, the gas light was on and there was no way I would know if the truck would run out of gas when I left the lot. After explaining this I received a different truck with gas. However, this truck was filthy. There was so much old toast in the truck. I was charged for this which is ridiculous. Fortunately I was able to send photos with time stamps to be refunded. Never again!

It my fault I didn't read the fine print, but wasn't like the representative fail to mention if the inside of the trailer is dirty we charge $25 as a service fee to clean it. When I picked the truck up bright and early the sales associate park the truck in a spot from the return lane. He didn't even clean it out, so when he pointed and said you get that truck he just parked I was okay with it. I fail to check for cleaning in the trailer, so when I got to my moving location and open the trailer, it was nasty from previous users. I got a broom and dust pan to clean it out efficiently before loading. I checked the inside out after only one load moving and returned it 1hr & 15 min early. I told the representative that it was dirty back there but I cleaned it out. So the next day I checked out my receipt of finally sale. Showed a cleaning fee of $25 so I called them to see why was I charged this and I cleaned it out before using it aswell as after before returning the truck. They said I should have checked it before leaving the lot, second I explained I cleaned it out before returning it aswell. Smh. Robbery. They must wanted me to mop it out and wax the floors inside the trailer. Then said in the contract if return dirty will be charged but I cleaned it out, nothing wasin the trailer and no trash. Why was I charged for the trash of the last user. Never again will I use this location. Union Ave, Memphis TN

The manager LeTeshaies Hill called me and yelled at me over the phone accusing me of purposefully screwing her over and threatened to charge me triple the price if I don t bring the uhaul back. I dropped it off at the wrong location unknowingly due to it being the first time Ive ever rented a uhual. She refused to listen to me and told me that everything I m saying is excuses and the guy who helped me didnt go over anything, he just checked if my phone and email matched and gave me the keys. DO NOT go to this location. The manager is rude, ghetto, and disrespectful. A person like her does not need a job in customer service whatsoever.

The young lady who assisted me was kind, caring and very genuine. She was fully present during the transaction and really paid attention to my needs. her smile, her greeting made me a bit more comfortable. The property was easy to access and very very clean and impressive.

There was not anything good about this experience. Upon arriving, the lights were off in the business as if they were closed. The truck I rented had multiple service indicator lights on. Upon returning to the premises , I could not find the drop box for the key. I was later told an employee was to have shown me the physical location of the box. When I returned the key, I was chastised for not having found the drop box after been informed that others could not locate it.

My experience was horrible. Reserved the uhaul truck 3wks in advance and the truck still wasn't ready.. Waited almost 2hrs before I received the truck.. The truck was on empty but was suppose to be on a 1/4.. Lied about reimbursement about returning the truck on a 1/4 but I returned the truck with more than a 1/4 and didn't receive my $25 back. They lied screen showed $100 charge but when I received my copy I was charged $160.. The truck was on it's last leg, oil light on and the truck was hard to stay in you're lane!! Then they scheduled my truck in another state to charge the hell out of me for the miles!! JUST A TOTAL RIPOFF AND DISAPPOINTMENT!! Also, they're very rude when you ask a question!! Customer service is awful!! Wish I could give 0 star's!!!!

Truck had broken glass inside on floor and on dashboard, there was tape still attached to window that had been replaced. After returning the truck I called back after getting home and inquired if an employee had seen my keys that may have fallen between the seats. I was told it was raining and they would look when it stopped or I could come back and look myself.

I had to r worst experience tonight at this Uhaul. The woman at the counter informed me that my truck was a little short of gas and that I would be charged $50. Since I still had time on my rental, she said I could get the keys from the man outside to put more gas in the truck. I asked him for the keys and he said no, he had already started checking me in. I sold I still had time plus there woman said I could go get gas. He told me can t nobody tell me how to do my job not even my Moma. He also said I would be charged $25 for debris in the truck. There was one leaf and two little strips of paper in the back of the truck not even the size of a chewing gum wrapper. The woman came out and got the keys from him and I went to fill my tank. When I ready to leave, I told him that he didn t have to be so rude. He told me that I needed to leave for my own safety. I consider this a threat. The woman at the counter was nice and reasonable but that man was horrible, rude, arrogant and unprofessional. He made my entire experience unpleasant and I would tell anyone to stay away from this franchise. This is a picture of the back of the truck that he said should have been charged. The woman at the counter did not charge any additional fees however.

I use U-Haul on a semi-regular basis for work. I was surprised by the lack of staff friendliness, cooperation and professionalism displayed by the staff and management. A simple matter which has been handled in the store previously had to be addressed by a corporate service rep via the phone. By the way, it was handled in a few minutes on the phone. I will never choose this location again for work or personal use.

So i rented out truck from the U-Haul on Union and the truck was given to me on 1/4 of a tank which was fine because I didn't have to travel far with it but I returned the truck clean and back on 1/4 of a tank and i was charged a cleaning fee and a gas fee, so i called the store and was told that the truck was filled with " tissues" which was a lie and that the gas fee was a fee that UHaul automatically charges to all customers which was another lie so i asked to speak to a manager and i was hung up on. I definitely do not recommend this store location the staff will overcharge you and are unbelievably unprofessional!

I had a 15 foot truck reserved from this location + 6 moving blankets for 24 hours. I was to pickup on Union and return in Germantown. I had also made this reservation a little over 1 week prior. Upon arrival I was told there were no trucks available for me. After much discussion I was given a truck that I picked up at 5 pm and was now required to return by 9 am the next morning back at the Union location. I also was charged for 24 moving blankets and liability coverage which I had originally declined during my initial reservation. Upon drop off I was charged almost double what I had expected to pay because I was originally dropping the truck off in Germantown. But, since I was required to bring it back to the Union location, it practically double the miles I put onto the truck which was unplanned. Overall, I had a very negative experience at this location.

The skinny young lady with long knotless braids Customer Service POOR and rude!!! Uhual Was without A/C. How are you renting out a U-Haul for moving and the customer has NO AIR!!! Then you mention it to them they don t care. Ive read previous reviews something told me to not come to this location! Don t over look bad reviews it is what you read

I was assessed a $25 cleaning fee because the previous renter left a scrap piece of paper and a few wood shavings. When I called, I was told that I should have taken a picture of the mess . If anyone decides to rent from this Uhaul in the future, I would advise you to take pictures of even the smallest thing before you drive off or make sure you stop by an auto detailer and have your vehicle thoroughly vacuumed!

A+ The online reservation process was easy. Pick up and drop off was hassle free. I was impressed with person that took care of my transaction. She had a great personality. She was Professional and very helpful. I wish all businesses gave this level or great service! Thank you

The overall experience I had with the rental was great. The only downside is when I was returning the rental. Upon returning, completing the inspection of the vehicle and completely checking it in, I was apprehended by the police. Five police cars and a bike cop pulled up on me as I was about to pull off. They stated that someone from security suspected Suspicious activity on the lot. Without asking for my rental agreement, I was made to get out my car. Put my hands on the hood of the police officer s vehicle, searched and then placed in the back of a police vehicle. I had my youngest daughter, son-n-law and his brother. About 5 cars pulled up and still no one asked me my name, for identification or rental information from Uhaul. This was one of the worse experiences of my life. The cop finally came to me while I was in the police vehicle and asked for verification. This could have been done at the beginning and none of this would have happened. I felt so violated. My 14 year old daughter asked, Mom, is it because I have on a hoodie . I told her no that s not a reason to accuse anyone of a crime they didn t commit. Focus on these young men out here committing real crimes instead of innocent people like myself.

Customer service skills are terrible I was called less than 12 hrs. Before my reservation and told that the 24/7 pickup option is not available at this location. When I changed my pickup time to their current hours of operation, my entire reservation was cancelled by the very rude and unprofessional African American older lady that called less than 12 hrs before my pickup time to say that I couldn't pickup my equipment at the time I originally reserved 4 days prior

We had a terrible experience here. Despite reserving our truck weeks in advance, they were unable to provide it on the appointed day, saying that the person who rented it failed to return it. Then they refused to call this person, saying they didn't want to harass them. I asked them to call us when the truck was available, but never got a call. I called the main uhaul number later, only to find out they simply cancelled our reservation. Just to top it off, they were very rude. Avoid this place!

Right rear tire was low from the start. Had to air it up three times. Then got charged $25 for cleaning. It rained that day. Of course there were footprints on the rubber floor. Besides, you gotta clean between rentals anyway such a money-grab scam.

The employee who checked me out was rude, coloring a picture like a child and on FaceTime with someone else the entire time I was checking out. When I was had questions, she offered no assistance, but when her phone came unplugged she quickly plugged it back up. When I returned the truck, she called to asked for my credit card info and stated I had a refund due to me. When I asked her to explain the charges, she quoted the wrong prices, then placed me on hold without warning and got a manager who was nice and explained the bill.

Reserved a truck and auto transporter for an out of state move. Registration showed completed. Attempted to pick up truck and auto transporter with reservation at this location at assigned time, and was told that not only did they not have the truck and auto transporter, but we were told that we were responsible for calling U-Haul to coordinate with a different location in town. The manager of this location was present but entirely unhelpful. In addition, there was not parking for my vehicle in the lot, and on more than one occasion the manager actually directed drivers to back up the rented trucks without clearance. My car would have been struck if I hadn't alerted the driver to my location. I will not be utilizing U-Haul again, and I strongly recommend that this location be avoided it at all possible.

These guys are on top of it! They gave me a great experience. Excellent pick up and returned in good condition. Agent checked me out at return in under two minutes.Only minor complaint: The included padlock on the truck was bent/broken and should be replaced.

Pick up was a nightmare. This process took 1 hour to complete, even though I had checked in online. (30 minutes to get through the line and 30 minutes to complete the check in).Check out was very strange. One uhaul employees took the key from us before we went in the store and did nothing else such as check us out or inspect the vehicle. It was all just the straightest ordeal.I hope I don t need a uhaul in the near future.

Definitely will not recommend and will be sure to leave the same reviews on multiple platforms. Truly understand why people would rather find someone with a truck versus entrusting their hard earned money into a company such as this. I took a pic of gas hand when picked up vehicle then compared that when replacing gas at station not even 5miles away but yet low and behold after preparing for 100 miles only using 54 I still get charged over $100 in what they said was a tank 8 gallons short and bc I didn't consider I would get ripped off in this way I didn't retake a photo after apply gas to tank that day being exhausted from moving and all. I was so upset to see this on Christmas day but definitely will go out of my to let others know that way they don't have to endure this same experience especially during such a stressful time anyway. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

PenskI IS A BETTER RENTAL COMPANY, Uhaul has gone down uhaul is not like it use to be, the rental truck I purchased smelled like marjiuna and the inside of the building, everybody that works there has a stank attitude, eveytime you call this location there always arguing with customers, I spoke with the manager who was rudely yelling on the phone and hung up in my face, if you can't handle the job find another one, that's the main reason why companies are going down/closing no good customer service, when customers are the main ones paying your checks

Very poor overall. Online quote was not upheld upon arrival. Was charged an extra $60. Original pick up location didn t have my reservation so I had to drive to the union location. I was never notified of this change. Trailer smelled of cat urine. Looked like blood stains all over the inside as well.I asked for a discount given the poor communication, poor customer service, and the state of the trailer. But nothing was provided. Spent the first hour cleaning the uhaul instead of packing.Would not recommend.

The truck was mostly clean and well maintained overall, but the ramp was broken and it took 3 of us with one person under the truck to pull it out for use. When it was finally retrieved, we noticed one of the bars was broken. The location had plenty of blankets, trucks, trailers, and packing material. Customer service was friendly.
