They sell motors with rust in the cylinders and don t warranty themSo it won t let me respond to your response so I m editing my review. The top part is the original. But yes I did buy the wrong one and I understood taking the head off would do that. My problem with this was I assumed I was getting a good block like you claim to sell. Because if someone had just installed it like it was, they would have to sit and argue with you over the phone about it. Send it back, wait who knows how long for you guys to install it to test it and hope you guys warranty it out. Also according to your warranty a certified mechanic must install the engine. That phrase is very broad and unclear. And so if someone pays a certified mechanic and they get this engine, they would have to pay for an engine install twice! Junkyards give way better warranties that the guys who claim to sell good properly stored engines that don t get water in the cylinders and rust it out. You are way better off taking an engine to the machine shop and rebuilding it, it s a lot less risk and you know you ll get a rust free motor. And also you don t need to remove the pistons or open up the block to swap heads . so I don t know who s telling you that information.

Bought nissan versa engine from them and it had a blown head gasket from the jump. It would barely run and idle terribly before cutting out completely. Called to see bout warranty exchange and he insisted I had a bad catalytic converter. Buyer beware, they will not honor the warranty. This place sucksEdit- My name is Chaz Thomas. I purchased 8/2/23 from the only JDM in Memphis, TN on brooks rd. Guess I should have made a review instead of calling. This seems as though it would have gotten better results

Got a transmission for my honda accord. Great buy. Works great. If in need of other products will continue to shop. Just to be clear to everyone reading this. Used auto parts is a buyer beware please inspect all products before purchasing. From anyone! Thank you JDM tennessee!

This place had the best price I could find on the JDM K24A high compression engine that I needed for my K swap. I bought mine for $850 while all the online sellers wanted more than that plus shipping. The engine is very clean inside and has almost no wear, so it either doesn't have many miles or was taken care of extremely well. The man who helped me was very friendly and helpful and loaded the engine onto my trailer for me. The only reason I can not give this place 5 stars is because the engine I bought had badly rusty camshafts and the man I talked to kept insisting that slight rust is normal because the engine has been sitting and it will run okay despite me telling him several times that I know what I am looking at and the rust is abnormally bad. I offered to send him pictures, but he didn't want them. He asked me how I know that the cams are rusty, so I told him that I took the valve cover off to adjust the valves before I installed it to make sure the adjustment was correct, which is Honda specified maintenance. His response was "What you are telling me is you voided your warranty. You aren't supposed to take the engine apart.". The receipt says nothing about this under their warranty policy and by his logic changing the oil also would void the warranty since it is also Honda specified maintenance. However, after arguing with him for a few minutes, he did eventually offer to take the camshafts to a machine shop to have them cleaned up and they are now in good condition and I can use them, so he did eventually honor his warranty even though it took a little arguing.

I recently purchased an engine and transmission combination from JDM Tennessee at a very reasonable price. The engine and transmission were in great condition, far better than others I have seen on EBay. The employee that helped me was very kind and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions and even offered further assistance after I bought the engine and transmission. He also tied the engine up nicely to a pallet, wrapped it neatly, and loaded it into our truck. In addition to that, I ran into an issue(not related to the engine and transmission) after buying the engine and had to return it. They were very understanding and I was able to return it with no problem. I definitely recommend them for your JDM needs.

I bought them on ebay, a transmission for a nissan versa, they sent it to me badly, in my complaints they gave me a thousand excuses and in the end they agreed to change it but that I covered the shipping, return, the purchase covered free return by default and shipping from Georgia costs me 480 dollars plus taxes, practically it is better to vote for it because they are going to send me another bad one. I lost the money from the purchase of materials and labor

The wife's Subaru Tribeca needed a new H6 motor and after a day of searching and investigating I decided to go with these guys.I am glad we did! Omar was kind, polite and knowledgeable.We ordered late Friday evening and the motor arrived at the mechanics on Tuesday already! It looked super clean and runs very nice!THANKS Tennessee JDM Motors for your excellent service all round!

Earlier this year I bought a vq35de engine for my 350z. Upon receiving the engine it was I noticed there was oil leaking from both the front main seal, and the the valve covers. It also appeared that someone had taken off the timing covers and put them back on with orange gasket maker. I reached out to JDM Tennessee and they assured me that was normal, and that they coat the engine with oil to prevent rusting. I still replaced both the front main seal, and the valve covers just to be safe. After that I had the engine swapped into my car, only to find that it burns oil! It goes through about 2-3 quarts of oil every 1000k miles. Aside from that the engine does appear to run fine, that is the reason for 2 stars.

Awesome Prices!! Amazing Communication!! I am in California and they took care of me! I would definitely recommend them, I will be purchasing engines from them. You can actually talk to them on the phone, they are very honest and very down to earth. They will do what it takes to satisfy their customers.

Very nice sales guy..the engine was here within two days and had installed a day later engine fired right up and has ran 350 miles like a sewing machine with no issues .with all the Altima pre cat failures this engine is a great budget friendly option...but remember to change flywheel the intake and thermostat housing. I used they power steering pump that was on the new engine with no issues (looked way better than my old one) but all in all this was a great experience and look forward to doing more business in the near future!

If you look up quality in the dictionary you will find Omar's name under the definition. He is very professional and sells quality engines & transmissions. I purchased a 2zz-ge engine two years ago and it has run flawlessly. The cams were still silver in color and had no wear when I took the valve cover off to see the inside. I've recently purchased a transmission as well and it shifts smoothly and has given me no issues. I will be doing business with JDM memphis again in the future and recommend you should too if you need an engine for your japanese cars.

Great Engine!Last week, I bought a low-mileage engine for my Nissan Sentra 2005 from the JDM Memphis, Tennessee, and it was really a very good engine, and even it was better than the description and pictures on the website. There was a discount on the engine, so the price was affordable. In addition, the guy on the front desk, Jason Jon, was very helpful and very quick in responding to my needs. He also helped me to load the engine to my personal car.

JDM Tennessee is a company that truly acts with their customers in mind and this is hard to come buy in today's modern society. When my engine arrived I immediately noticed it's pristine condition. I was so excited to get it put in my car, so I could quit paying for my rental. However, the wrong engine was ordered! I was so stressed and worried as to what I would do. I was scared that I wasn't going to be able to return the engine, but I called JDM Tennessee and they were understanding of my situation. They explained to me what they would do to help me and even tried to help me find the right engine! Their customer service is "EXTRAORDINARY"! It saddens me that the engine was not correct because it would have been amazing to support a business like JDM Tennessee!

I bought an engine from them 2 months ago. It arrived in very poor condition I called and spoke with a guy named Jason. He arranged to have the first motor picked up and sent out a very clean and nice one to replace the first one with. I was pretty upset at first but Jason made everything right. I work in the automotive industry as well and understand that sometimes things go wrong. Tennessee JDM are honest and will do what it takes to make their customers happy.

Delayed review from a 1jz gte I bought over 2 years ago,Called these guys and they gave me the absolute best price I could find and the engine was in great condition. It was my first swap and did it on a e30. Finally have it on the road and couldn't be more happy

1KZ I bought from them turned out to have bad compression in cylinders 2 and 4, will not honor warranty agreement and provide replacement nor discount. Don t waste your time

Wasnt too bad at all got a newish engine for a decent price.That was my original post but now that I see this they actually ripped me off gave me a motor that had bad piston rings and smoked like a freight train. I tried to contact dude about it the day it was put in while still under warranty, which was a no hassle guarantee that if there was anything internally wrong with the motor they would replace for free, he told me best he could do was bring the car all the way to Memphis then he would put a new motor in for an additional 500 dollars. That's not what the warranty said buddy. Refused to help me out and I wish I would have reposted this sooner. Will never go back and I dont recommend anyone going iether.Just because I can't reply to you im going to edit this post, did you not read my review? I said I tried to contact within the original 30 day warranty and maybe not you but one of you refused to cooperate within YOUR DEAL. It wasn't a pleasure doing business with you.

I called JDM Tennessee to ask if they had any 2JZ GTE engines in stock. They did, he told me they had to and was happy to send me pictures of both of them which I appreciate it. I expressed to him how I just got through buying and returning a very bad 2JZ GTE from another importer. He was friendly enough to talk to me for a while about the situation and how they were different and how they handpicked all of the engines and compression tested them themselves, he said this is why the engine cost $300 more than thr other importer. This did make me feel very comfortable about getting an engine from JDM Tennessee, however since I had just gotten burned on another one I told him I wanted to drive up and see the engines first. We arranged for me to drive 3 hours on a Saturday to come look at the engines. When I got there he had both of the engine set out and they looked pretty good for a used 2jzGTE. However everything went downhill after I asked him to compression test the engine so I can see. He obliged and I went ahead and started taking off the valve covers. Upon taking out a spark plug boots I noticed that both of the engines had massive amounts of oil in the spark plug Valley's, which means they never took the spark plugs out and compression test of the engines for that time.I walked out without even saying a word to him as soon as I saw the oil in a valleys.I drove 3 hours to see the engines and it was a complete waste of my time. I am glad I went look at the engines before I just bought blindly again though. These guys are just like all of the other Japanese engine importing scammers that will try to screw you over if you are stupid enough to let them do so.JDM Tennessee would have gladly sold me a engine that was supposedly compression tested. Waste of time. Take your money somewhere else

Well, I Got A Infiniti G35 Motor Put In In My Infiniti Coupe It Was Doing Good Until The Second Week Didn t Even Make It Down The Street And Vehicle Started Over Heating I Will Be Heading Up There Today To See The Issue Get Resolved In A Timely Manner. Update I Called Them And Omar Was Very Friendly All I Did Was Showed My Receipt And They Fixed The Issue The Same Day Big Shoutout To Omar And JDM Motors!

All I'm gonna say is don't let them install for you worst mistake I could've ever made!! Wiring harness pinched in several places, vacuum lines not attached, the list of problems is endless the engine install just seemed so shade tree like it was done by some kids behind a Mapco on a Saturday!! Would I recommend them for engines and parts ................................ ............................. ................................. ............................Yes!

Omar, at JDM Of Memphis was great to work with. He followed thru on everything he said even if he had to go the extra mile. Had the motor in my MR2 spyder replaced and could not be happier. I strongly suggest doing business with this company!

I can say they the best I got a Honda Accord 07 and my motor went out I called them and price the motor got my car towed to the shop the next week which is today they had my baby ready and when I say she drive sooooo good I Love it the owner he is so sweet and kinda heart OMG MY CAR WAS DOWN 4 months and not to mention the motor was only 750 great deal I THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR HELPIN ME

I purchased a vq35de a couple months again spent almost 2000 for it which is alot for me I work a regular day job had it put in the car and when the mechanic went to start the motor to bleed the coolant system of air he noticed the head gasket was blowed me personally that passes me off big time spend all the money and time and end up with another useless piece of junk I'll never buy another thing from them again

Bought a motor for my honda also had them install it took a trip to los angeles and back to memphis didnt burn or leak any oil ran like a new car

Bought 2.5 Nissan engine .engine came in with small cracked hole in upper part oil pan, wich is part of the main cap assembly. Jdm replaced the engine with a good one
