Arguably the greatest shop in town. I ve taken my Volvo to these guys for years. On the most recent trip, I had a massive oil leaks. These guys took care of it and we haven t had any issues since.Great people and great mechanics are at Smisco. Take your vehicle to them, and know they ll actually look at everything, inspect things, and perform high-quality work.

So happy I found the guys at Smisco! My car developed a bad oil leak on a road trip from Arizona to Virginia. Smisco got my leak issues fixed and had me back on the road the same day! Plus they cleaned the oil off my engine and windshield! Great service and very reasonable prices!

I initially was excited to work with this team, as I had seen great reviews and was recommended to them I just don t think I had the best experience. After having a poor encounter with the dealer, I wanted to work with a trustworthy, experienced business. I called this place to see if they would be willing to replace the engine in my Volvo and install a new catalytic converter. They were nice and agreed, but before they began with repairs, I simply wanted them to see the vehicle and provide an estimate quote so that I could determine if the money was with putting into the car. Richard made it clear that I would not be responsible for any charges unless repairs were made. So I had the car towed to their location. As they go about searching for a replacement engine, things went downhill. I was quoted ~$7000 for full repairs. This was a hefty price, but I was advised by their staff that it was better than paying a car note for a new car. However, the replacement engine had at least 90-100k miles on it, and it only came with a 30-day warranty. 30 days is a horrible guarantee. Also, I kept getting warned that they didn t know how difficult the job would be so the price could be higher than $7,000. They also wanted half the money down before they started, which is understandable, but at that point, I decided it wasn t worth the trouble. When I came to pick up the car, I was charged a $110 check-out fee. I was confused because I was under the impression that they only charged for repairs. The fee seems to make sense, but I wasn t notified about this beforehand (when I asked about charging) and the report listed things things that I already knew about my car it didn t include anything helpful. After I had my car towed back to my home, I found that the battery was run dead and that a window was fully left down. I really did not appreciate the car being left in that condition. Overall, they seemed confident in doing the job at first, but when the car actually got to them, they factored in a lot of doubt with a poor warranty on the engine.

My AC went out the day before I had planned to go visit my niece in Memphis. While I was there a friend of my nieces recommended this shop. I took my vehicle in and the quote he gave me was $2,273.36. He advised me that my entire AC system needed to be replaced in my vehicle. I told him that I would need to just wait til I get back home. He charged me $98.78 to look at it since I did not get it fixed there.When I arrived back home I made an appointment at the repair shop where I have all my work done. He only had to replace the AC Compressor with clutch. Total cost to repair AC was around $850.00. Good thing I waited.

These guys are champions! If you have a Volvo, you need these folks on your team! I would drive 150 miles to have them work on any part of my xc70. Trust in their experience and let them take care of your needs. These guys are way better than a dealer, know more than the dealers, and can get your Volvo back on the road sooner than dealers.I truly cannot thank them enough for such a high level of professionalism as well as expertise. If you want your Volvo to run forever, go to Smisco. Do not work on it yourself, do not buy your own parts. These cars are fine tuned and very detailed. Trust Smisco to treat you right, take care of your ride, and give you a better deal than any other shop in the Southeast!

Richard. Went way beyond the call repairing my headliner - which disconnected during the last heat wave. When I picked up my car he said he worked until 7;30 the night before which saved me from having to rent a car and calling into my job . This care and concern means the world! He also dealt with my Warrenty company which can be a hassle but he said they were not to bad even tho they only paid for a fraction of needed radiator repair. Thanks seems inadequate but just knowing I can trust Richard to not do more than is necessary and doing a great job on all repairs needed. Thx Joan Swee2008 C70 volvo

The guys at SMISCO were highly knowledgable, friendly, and had all the tools needed to help me out when i was in a serious pinch. Customer service was excellent and i was back on the road in no time! I cant recommend this shop highly enough. They have years of experience working on volvos as well as other imports.

I have a 2006 Saab 9-5 John at simisco has been great a diagnosing it. I have had a hard time finding someone who knows what they are doing with a Saab, I brought in my saab with by turbo fully took apart because Anoth Michanic took it apart and left it , Jhon found the issue of why it wouldn t go back together properly and got it all taken care of ,If you have a foreign take it here great customer service and your problem will get resolved. It s the only shop I ll trust with my Saab you won t be disappointed!Services: Exhaust, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

I took my car to Smisco to have it checked out. The workers there were very kind however I don't think i received the best service....they erased the error codes and recommended I take it to the dealer...I then took it to the dealer, the next day, who told me that the error codes were erased and were unable to tell me what was going on with my car...they recommended I return when a warning light appeared. I am not knowledgeable of the computers in cars or the error codes they trigger, but it would have been nice if Smisco left the error codes for dealer since they did no repair anything. Smisco did nothing to my car other than hook it up to their computer and erase the codes. I was disappointed because they did not really help but charged me a fee for erasing the codes, which should not have been erased. I had a friend who had transmission repairs completed and recommended their services to me....she had a positive experience with them and had nothing but good things to say. I dont believe this was intentional, but my time was not respected. I want to give 1 star but I really really liked the employee that I spoke with, he seemed nice.

I am so thankful for Richard and his staff. Very professional and kind. Wonderful people. It is very hard these days to find people that you can trust to work on your vehicles that will do right about you. My husband and I are very pleased. We have a 2008 xc70. Thanks Richard and your great staff.

This place is great!! I m so grateful that I found them. Richard and his crew are honest thorough and knowledgeable. I was able to get done the repairs I needed to have my Volvo turbo purring like a big cat.

The owner of this place is GREAT! I called the shop on a Friday evening as I was driving in from knoxville. I was having some serious issues with my car. He actually called right back and said he would come in to the shop on a Saturday to fix it!! Super honest!!!! Affordable!!! Not a rip off like going to the volvo dealer! He charged me half of what the dealer wanted. This is a great shop!!!

My wife drives a 94 Volvo. She s sold on keeping it for life! A friend recommended Smisco & she s elated to find a mechanic that can tell what s wrong without depending solely on those diagnostic machines! They don t make em like they used to - that goes for cars AND mechanics!

These guys know their stuff. Always let's you see what's wrong, welcomes compition prices too. I can't recommend them enough.
