On Thursday 3/28/24 at about 5pm a semi tire blew out in front of me and I ran over a tire tread with the driver side front of my truck. When I exited my brakes didn t work. I pulled over and found leaking fluid so I went to Pep Boys store #6395 and they said they would evaluate first thing in the morning on Friday 3/29/24. So I walked home because I live a half mile away.I got a call in the morning saying my brake line had been damaged. The said they needed to replace the line, pads and rotors. $1500! I asked if they could just clean the rotors, replace the pads and repair the line. The employee said they couldn t. I called 3 master mechanics and they ALL said rotors can be cleaned, turned and put back on if they were within spec. Looked it up online and the same thing across the board. I ask them to fix the line and replace the pads and they said they would BUT I would have to sign a waiver. The price was $700 plus to put on new pads, bleed the system and fix the line. I told them to go ahead and fix it. They said it would be done Friday. I called Friday at noon because I was anticipating going home for the weekend for Easter. They had an issue getting a part. They would have to wait until Sat. 2 days without my truck to drive to work. I called Sat at 12:00 noon and they said they had the part on the way. There was some confusion on the delivery side and the part wasn t delivered. Apparently and according the them this happened twice. I called around 4pm and they said it would not be fixed till Monday. I walked directly to Pep Boys and they told me the part had arrived but the delivery driver had convinced them it was not the right part. So the delivery driver left. I explained to them that I had a 5 hour drive to get home and needed a rental car. They declined. Magically, the part showed up after phone calls and conversations. Kevin, Larry and Casey stayed to complete the job. They were the only positive in my whole experience. I appreciate them taking care of me in a bad situation. Another interesting part of this situation is that my rotors were contaminated by brake fluid and needed changed. When the brakes were bled there was brake fluid all over the rotor and I have the video to confirm that. I wonder if I m driving on contaminated rotors? .hmmmm. So 2 days without my truck and couldn t drive it to work, I was on Perdiem and OT at work and that is a lot of money. I was not able to go home because it was too late in the day to travel 5 hours. The single star rating reflects the failure of service, the overpriced work and refusal of a rental car. The single star is for the 3 who stayed to finish the work. I need to hear from corporate to give them a chance to redeem themselves.4/14/24UPDATE: pepboys emailed me and asked me to provide them with the store number, work order number and the information .WHY would I have to provide that when you have the info in your system? Are you too lazy or too disconnected to try and fix YOUR issues and call on a customer to help you? pep boys had the local store manager call me he proceeded to explain to me that I chose to have the full service done and I had the option to not have rotors installed but would have needed to sign off on it I still have the video of them bleeding my brakes and getting brake fluid all over the rotor ( according to them it should be contaminated right?) (He is the person who told me to call corporate with my issue). I told him I would need someone to contact me other than him because when I brought my issue to him he told me to call corporate Runaround? A person from corporate called me while I was in a meeting and I asked this person if they could call me back He said You will need to call me back. Which I did, he did not answer, nor have I heard from him since .this is pretty blatant pepboys do better! Call me with a solution!4/16/24 UpdateStill NO response.4/18/24 UpdateStill NO response

I am very impressed to find a honest repair shop.I took my car to another shop after they did a diagnostic test costing me $125.00.They wouldn't include this in the cost of repair if I used them.They quoted me $900.00 dollars.When I decided to go to PEP BOYSI was expecting close to the same.Well come to find out the 1st garage diagnosed the work part to replace.You checkout everything and put the correct part for $417.00.Thanks for being fair to a widowed disabled lady.

The staff at this shop were lifesavers! Thank you to Darryl Andrews, Darius, Kevin and anyone else who helped with this challenging situation with a car with a leaking tire. I was working out of town and driving a company lease vehicle. I left to pick up a late lunch and noticed a low tire. I had aired it up the day prior and thought it was just low due to cold weather but since it was low again, I knew it had to be a leak. It was late in the day and the weather was getting bad with sleet and I wasn't sure if anyone would be able to take care of this. After the lease company approved getting service, I got the car to Pep Boys and they had a new tire put on in short order (turns out I had a nail in the sidewall). Mr. Andrews was very kind and helped relive my anxiety about this unexpected emegency while I was on a work trip. I appreciate all the staff at this shop; they were professional and prompt and so friendly. I would recommend their services! They were a blessing! Thank you all to the staff at Pep Boys at 8529 U.S. 64, Memphis, TN!

I don't even know why I went here. The last time I went to pep boys they screwed up some spark plugs. I had to get those redone at meineke in 6 months. Went to get a tire because I hit a pothole and blew a tire. Was told a replacement would be $182. Then told there was a buy 3 get 1 free deal. I said I'll do all 4 then. Then I was told my total was $1077. I'm calculating in my head that this should be around $600. So I tell him it's not in my budget. Then he says he can do it for $866. I immediately saw scam. Went to Firestone a block over and got all tires replaced for $600 after taxes. Guy at pep boys was so nasty when I said I was just going to try Firestone.

I had a blowout by hitting a pothole . I had my car towed to Pepboys on Hwy 64. When I tell you Darryl took care of me he did just that. I knew when I walked in the store had to be under new management. Darryl was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back since I witnessed that change had been made at this location. Also, very clean on the inside .

I had a flat and stopped in during the pouring rain. They immediately got my car back and worked late to get us back in the road. The staff were all professional and kind. The manager was great. So kind and helpful. Checked on my daughter and I while we waited and made sure we were taken care of.

All the 1 star reviews are true and accurate. Came in to get an engine pressure test and that was it. Soon as I requested the service the manager at the desk says, You need a water pump how do you know that without even looking at the car. I should ve known there to leave but I needed to know why my car was loosing coolant. Now I know quite a bit about car but I didn t have the equipment to test the engine block as I m from Texas and only working in Memphis for a short period of time. I get a call a few hours later saying my cooling fans weren t coming on (another lie) so I went back immediately as I know they were working because my car NEVER overheated which would be the case if your cooling fans don t work. When I came back in and stated that they were working before I came in (and still are) the So-called mechanic caught a attitude just for me mentioning what I knew to be true. As a true adult I didn t feed into his negative energy. He said that my engine block passed the pressure test but I needed a water pump. I took my car to a Hood shop and got it retested for $25 and found out my heater core was the problem. The mechanic said, there s no way he tested this engine block because soon as he started the test he found the leak. Save your $ and your time don t go here, they ll have you spending unnecessary money and your problem wont be solved. They need people who know what they re doing and know how to treat the customers. Go else where.

My experience with Pep Boys on highway 64 was amazing. They were very professional and geniunely concerned about taking care of my car needs. They properly serviced my Mercedes and explained everything that was done to correct the problems that my car was having. The manager Daryl was on point with the whole process and i even got to meet Kevin the mechanic. They are all so friendly. I certainly will be patronizing this location for all of my vehicle needs!

The young lady and young man were sitting at the counter when I entered. We exchanged pleasantries and I told them I had a tire with a leak I would like to have fixed. The young lady look at her coworker and said you can get that for him. He was a little mad about it to which he made a snide remark about the other workers in the back,(who were both working I might add), he went into the back area and sat on a footstool for the next 35 minutes playing on his phone. The lady in the front also sat in her seat playing on her phone. After a few more minutes I finally walked back to the counter and she noticed her coworker hadn t even pulled my truck in the back. After she went and said something to him again he aggressively came through and got my truck and pulled it in to work on it. After finding my leak he leaned the tire on a piece of equipment and said the leak is on the sidewall and began closing vacant doors and again pulled out his phone. I waited a few more minutes and approached the lady again and when she asked if he was getting me fixed I told her I didn t know but if he would just put my tire back on my truck and let it down I would get out of their way. They did so I did. Very unprofessional attitude and work ethics.

Worst tire experience of my life! Paid too much for the tires (my fault for being too lazy & passive to go somewhere else)! Took forever!! Then in the end, they couldn t put the car inaligent because of some camera issue. Anyway, go somewhere else!

I went in for a balance and rotation. I drive a 2016 GT mustang. My back two tires are bigger than my front two. I told the service provider I wanted the front two rotated and the back two rotated, which he told me they could not do. I told him they will do it. I also said my steering wheel shakes, the balance will take care of that. He then told me the balance will not fix my shaky steering wheel. It did fix it. They also tried to make me believe my rotors were warped, back tires had no tread, and I had a stripped lugnut. I had my rotors and tire tread double checked by someone else, and they are completely fine. Now the lugnut is a different story. It was stripped. Why you might ask? Because pepboys stripped it. Instead of replacing it, they just handed me my lugnut and told me to replace it. So I had a missing lugnut driving off the lot. I was not happy at all.

I ve had to get my tires replaced, and a few weeks later I was lucky enough to get a nail in one of them. So 2 visits in one month, The manager of this store offers phenomenal customer service. Will certainly keep coming to this pep-boys for any further needs.

Don t go here, This place is a total scam. Only reason I went was because I had no other choice. Was told it would cost $75 to replace my tire. When it was time to pay I was told my total would be $115 with tax. Not sure how $75 rounds up to $115 for a nissan tire. But I know I won t be coming back.

I invested in a 120-point inspection at PepBoys for a Jeep I was serious about buying.�PepBoys' website advertises that a free CarFax report valued at $39.99 is included with this inspection. I never received the CarFax report even after reaching out to their customer service department multiple times. I was still interested in the Jeep after the inspection, but I was waiting on the CarFax report to make my final decision.�The Jeep sold 2.5 days after I had it inspected.�So much for the 'free' CarFax at PepBoys. All I got was a Jeep-less, customer service runaround!Update 12/27/2023 - PepBoys finally provided me with the CarFax report this morning, but the Jeep I paid to have them inspect on December 21st sold on December 23rd. Due to PepBoys' failure to deliver the CarFax report as part of the inspection services in a timely manner, I am requesting a full refund for my time and aggravation.

I came here to get my tire patched from hitting a nail. When it was time to pay, I asked if they honored military discounts and the representative Lisa informed me that they do not give military discounts for patching a tire. From my understanding, it s either you offer military discounts or you don t. I never knew that it was based on the type of service you received. Also, shortly after leaving I had to turn right back around because my tire was still seeping air. Luckily, I had my own air pump and was able to fill my tire with enough air to make it back to the entity. I would like to acknowledge and thank the worker Jamaal M. for fixing my issue with no problems and having empathy towards my situation. Altogether and especially since I was denied of my military discount, 0/10 would not recommend.

Do not patronize PepBoys anywhere.None of the PepBoys talk to each other and they do not share vehicle information. So getting tires at PepBoys in Texas means nothing to PepBoys in Memphis.Appointments mean nothing. Last visit with appointment waited 5 hoursThis time been here .5 hours before my appointment and 2+ hours later they haven't even looked at the car.2nd attempt to fix a tpms issuesSuper simple, I bought my tire here they charged me over$400 last time I had a tpms issues saying they didn't do the job (it was another pepboys) the first time.I drove 10 miles and still have the same issues.They left my car greasy, inside and out.I called manager Chris... He assured me he would take care of things when I brought it back.He's not here and yet here I sit.... Still waitingNothing being taken care of.Also card inside says please contact Chris regarding any service issues with a phone number that rings (inside the store) and never gets answered.Also have a card to leave Google Review but the link and QR-code doesn't work.Attention to details are severally missing here.What are they not doing correctly to your car.Think about it, scary indeed.

Store manager Darryl had terrible attitude when was asked to correct alignment that wasn't done properly. The car is still pulling to the side but now steering wheel is off center. I had to leave the store and will not use this place as long as they have this manager. Worst service and would not recommend to anyone.

Please go elsewhere. This location took advantage of my wife who came in with one flat and made her feel as if her car was falling apart less they perform all sorts of unnecessary services, including charging $200 to replace an alternator belt and performing a 3 step fuel system cleaning service costing $150 without asking her or gaining her permission, on a car with less than 80k miles on it. They also replaced two tires, which may or may have been necessary as I was not there to see, but they ve certainly not earned the benefit of the doubt. Maybe worst of all, they even failed to properly do the job she came in for, as her tires are now misaligned due to their poor job, causing her car to drift and her steering wheel to shake violently anytime she drives over 70mph. Do all you can to avoid this place, particularly if you are someone who is not confident in knowing what your car actually needs and doesn t. Even if you are confident, find a mechanic who can, at the very least, put tires on a car properly. My advice to this location would to be to focus on competently performing the services you are asked to perform, rather than trying to squeeze every nickel you can out of women that walk into your store by doing unnecessary jobs for exorbitant prices

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation since I had a coupon..After changing the oil, they tried to up-sale me on some $1400 new tires for my truck; claiming my tires were old and they couldn't rotate them for "safety issues". I told them I could change the tires myself just move aside, but they wanted to still charge the full amount without the rotation...My tires were fine!After asking to speak to the manager, they rotated my tires. Go figure .The funny thing is, during my next two rotation/oil changes (i go every 5000 miles) at different reputable places, No One has mentioned anything about the condition of my tires .Stay away from this Pepboys!

I would give this zero stars, but the app won t let me So what is the point of completing all the necessary steps online to schedule an appointment. First they told me it was going to be a wait. I explained I was in a time crunch and that was why I scheduled an appointment. The lady behind the counter went into the shop, came back with he should be able to get you in . No ma am, you don t seem to understand I am in a time crunch and that is why I made an appointment. A should be able to was not going to work, I don t mind leaving and going next door to Jiffy Lube. She took my keys, 10 mins later my car is rolled into the shop. It literally takes 20 mins at home to perform an oil change. This is without the lift and tools they have here at the shop. 20 mins pass, now there is a gentleman behind the counter. I ask have they started on my car or did they just pull it around a two hour old change to appease me. He assured me they had already started on it. 25 more minutes pass, then the gentleman comes back in to tell me they don t have the correct filter needed for my car but they have one ordered. WTH, I expressed I was in a hurry and if they did not have the correct filter why did someone not come tell me this. At this point I am SOL because they have already disposed of my filter. How long before the correct filter gets here? Sorry ma am, I m at the mercy of my vendor. Double WTH!!! How incompetent! So here I am 1 hour and 30 mins and still no word on my car. Keep in mind there were only 2 other vehicles here when I arrived. A truck with mechanical work, a tire plug (this was finished and out the door 5 minutes after my arrival) and then me with my 12:30 appointment. Two hours later I am good to go. I ll wait for the manager to come back and I asked him for a discount he told me it s already discounted I said no sir that s the 25% discount that s given to everybody that has a that comes into the shop for the coupon online. He then told me that that was the best he could do. I said no, sir that is not the best you can do that is all you are willing to do. He s comment back to me well, ma am you don t have to come back! Oh, honey, don t state the obvious I will never ever be back to this particular Pep boys!! and to all others I recommend doing your research which I did not and read other customer reviews not just mine.

MISLEADING AND DISHONESTI took my vehicle for an alignment and was told it would be $99.99 for the service. Upon picking up the vehicle I was told that my total was $120. When asked why it was more expensive than advertised the clerk stated that it was due to taxes. I stated that taxes were not 20% and only then did she advise there were shop fees . I was never advised of these fees until after the service was performed. The fee totaled to $9.99. This is a misleading and dishonest practice to hide fees.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES!!

This shop gets off on women do not come here with out a man we came in and asked for a rim they gave us a steel wheel and said that s what we asked for and we don t even know what that is. They are acting like they can t trade it in so We are filing a civil court case and recommend anyone else they steal from do the same too many of these reviews say they been stealing. Suing the man that did it and the store . And reporting them to the BBB!

Terrible customer service attitude at drop off. Husband advised he would be looking elsewhere for mounting service in the future. Tires were promised to be mounted by noon per text sent via app. By 4:00 we called checking, we were told they d BEEN ready we explained their app did not reflect that their response it does on our side . Miraculously shortly after hanging up, the app was updated. Weird how that happened.It s not hard to be polite We hear a lot about how brick and mortar stores are suffering until companies figure out how to just treat customers fairly and with courtesy, they will continue to suffer. We won t be back to Pep Boys.

Great customer service and staff was attentive to my needs. The manager, Darryl explained the problem and gave recommendations taking his time discussing the work that needed to be done. I recommend this shop to anyone.

I literally cruised into town on fumes...from a blown head gasket on my camper van on a Saturday night on Memorial Day weekend. I utilized Pep Boys Towing service to take my vehicle to nearby Pep Boys store. They did thorough inspection to determine problem, and although they could not fix it, they went above and beyond to help me find mechanic. They also let me leave my van there for days while I arranged transfer. Jeff was my contact and his customer service skills were amazing.

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! They will rob you! the technicians are not thorough. They only care about the money. I came in for a check engine light issue they told me the issue and i paid almost $900 then the next morning my check engine light returned. They told me to bring it back in and was gonna charge me another $500 for and issue they missed. I decided not to get the second service i picked up my car. Since then my engine has been knocking and it has never done that before. So I brought it back and at first he said they cant fix it then he told me it would be $1000. I have worked with Chris before two years ago when i thought my battery died ( it was actually the starter) and he was gonna give me a jump and he didn't even know my battery was on the floor inside my car. I had to show him a YouTube video. Take your money else where.
