Early morning, appointment, no coffee or machine to purchase coffee available. Service was excellent, but I wish company would focus on customer comfort during the wait. Unsure why COVID, makes coffee and amenities disappear. Restrictions was lifted in late 2022.

(Customer Rant Incoming) DO NOT GO. I brought in my car needing a simple sensor replaced and a battery. Had a service contract with an insurance company to cover some costs. Ring up the charges, they tell you what they can pay, then I pay the rest. Simple. Was told maybe 3-4 days. Called EVERYDAY on day 6 because they either kept pricing me different numbers for different work, saying they're waiting on a part, or THEY HAVE NO IDEA and would call me back (they never did.)Week 2. I get an uber there to see what is happening in person. Guy looks at me and has no idea because the techs never made a quote and scribbled numbers down on post-it notes. Half hour there, and finally got a number and approved the work they couldn't bother to email or call me about.WEEK 3. They finally did the repair. A Sensor and a Battery. Maybe an hr or so job. I head there, pay the repairs, and walk out to my car with a key fob that no longer connects to my car and a flat tire IN THEIR LOT. Walked back in, told them the issues, and they "fixed" the fob by putting a battery in. (It wasnt fixed, and the key part just dangled. I ended up fixing it at home. Battery contact was bad, and when they tried to fix it, they put the part in backwards, giving them maybe a single signal out before it would jangle loose in the fob. No idea how that was possible. )With the tire, it had some underinflating issues that started from a nail and was drove on awhile. Ok, simple enough, that's on me. Then Office person mentioned the tech had to put air in it multiple times. (WHY WASN'T THIS ON THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT THEN?!?!?!?!? Tech said you can see the damage easily on the inner tire, THEN WHY NOT REPORT IT!?!??! YOU CHECKED THE BRAKES AND THE TREADS, AND NEVER BOTHERED TO REPORT THE AIR LEAK? Or at least call and tell me BEFORE I WALK IN TO PICK IT UP. DONT DRIVE IT TO THE PICK UP LOT WITH A FLAT.) Then proceeded to tell me the fob was already broken when I arrived. (No it wasn't, and if so, WHY IS IT NOT REPORTED?!?!?!?) Ended up staying yet another hour for them to change a tire (Yes, I paid for that.) and they didnt charge the fob "repair."I forget her name, but the office woman was nice and tried to work with me on this. That was the one saving grace that prevented a customer rant in the shop.I don't know how a battery and a sensor turned into a 3 week headache, but this was by far the worst mechanic experience I ever had. Bless you kind office person. You were nice, but I'm never going back.

Arrived about 30 min prior to closing and told Jessica about my dilemma with a flat tire and the need to get it taken care of ASAP due to an early morning departure time the next day. She walked me through the options without an upsell and was able to make it happen with her colleague in the bay Alex. Best customer service I ve received in a long time.

Even though he was the only man in the front, the manager handled everything great! He was courteous, friendly, and professional! Just know that even if you have an appointment, there will still be a wait but I think that s how s car places goes so you just have to deal with it!

AVOID!! Ordered tire to replace flat tire. Made appointment to have tire mounted. Arrived on time and after 1.5 hours car still not done (to mount ONE tire). Why would any business make appointments if they have no intention of honoring them. UPDATE: my car is finally finished 2 HOURS after my appointment time to mount ONE tire. DO NOT COME HERE

Avoid at all cost.I went for oil change. They admitted they put in wrong oil.3 weeks later my car is smoking from every angle possible. I bring back in and they claim I need a tune up. 2 weeks go by I requested my car back. They had done $2240 in repairs but didn t install one sensor. That sensor was all I need because my car is doing exactly what it was doing before. I just lost a lot of money do to their ability to scam people. I went to pick my car up and they didn t vent know if it had been worked on. They he service manager named Francis or something similar was extremely rude, and even hung the phone up on me mid conversation. Long story short, do not go to pep boys. What they have done is criminal and they should be prosecuted. I have been in contact with their corporate office and they have a call center with people from India handling it. It s difficult to even have your voice heard with this company.Update.I go back for the repair after ubering for 3 weeks just for their regional manager named Lee Rhoden to be condescending to me and preform the wrong repair again. They said, since we did these repairs, now we have to do that. This has cost thousands of dollars and they don t know a thing about car repair.

I went there at 4:40pm on a Sunday to replace a tire blow out. Outstanding service by Damian (or Darian) at the desk. Top notch, professional customer service. The team got me taken care of before 5pm close and still managed to take care of the customer who came in behind me, too. 5 well-deserved stars.

Pep Boys is alright. I needed a wheel alignment and belt replaced. The did a ok job but im still having issues with my sterrling wheel pulling as if it wasnt fixed.i tried calling them today at 5:15ish since im at work, but I received no answer. Please be aware of what's going on with your car and how well your parts are , if they are bad and need to be replaced or if they are still good.

Dropped my friend off from lunch after dropping her Cadillac off for a tire leakage.....Long story short, this took a total of 6 hours for them to tell her they didn't have the tire. Not to add, wanted to give other diagnosis that she didn't ask for lol Please get the young man up front some help, he's overwhelmed. There were too many employees for at least 1 not to be able to step in and assist. Please don't take this negatively but as an opportunity to grow.....

Folks were really nice. But I had an appointment and was the only person waiting on their car for most of the time I was there which was over 3 hours. I went for an oil change and a new windshield wiper. 2 hours into my appointment, they ve just started working on my car. they pull me back to show that my vehicle is 100% dry of coolant, which means that the last service I had didn t fill it, and of course that last service was also at a Pepboys. Then I have to pay for a coolant flush, which I really don t understand because I could see all the way through the container to know yall ain t gotta flush anything. They told me they had to order the windshield wiper from another location, which is also bizarre to me because I found 2 rows of the required windshield wiper in the shop while I waited. At the end, the manager tells me my car doesn t have a dipstick so they had to drive it around to reset the oil meter takes 30 mins. Where did he go with my car? No idea. Why isn t a dipstick something they have in the shop? Also no idea. On top of all of it, I seemed to be the only person in a rush. I literally saw the technician holding my windshield wiper blade in their hands and coming up front to chat. While I m 100% sure other stuff goes on back in the garage that customers don t know about, dear LAWD I m tired of garages assuming I have no idea what s going on because I m a small lady with a foreign car. Moral of the story: if Pepboys changes your oil, it takes 3 hours, which has happened to me every time I ve had this car serviced since I got it 2 years ago. Second moral: if Pepboys replaces your windshield wiper, check your fluid level bc they sure as heck didn t.Sincerely, someone who now has to self service to adjust for Pepboys overall lack of dedication

I went to Pep Boys for a tire rotation and to check for low tire pressure. The very next morning, my low tire pressure light was on and I stopped by a different location (Hwy 64) for service. I was greeted by Darryl upon entering the building. He checked my tires and then I was told that I needed 2 new ones. He provided excellent service, and I thanked him for going out of his way for making sure I return on the road without any problems. I definitely would recommend THIS location! The entire staff was friendly and professional!

This company is unprofessional, and robbers. My 81 year old mother needed 1 plug, in the the tread, a 5 minute job, and they wanted her to buy a new tire, instead of fixing a 3 month old tire. This is a place to take your car to have work done, at a mechanic shop, but they can't put air in a tire because it's against their policy?

My mom has been coming here for years. The manager has always been good to her and its unfortunate she has to come so often to get oil changes because her Kia Soul is affected by oil consumption issues due to a manufacturers recall on half the components under the hood. All that being said, I went to change my mother's oil today to save her the money over constantly having to bring it to Pep Boys for an oil change. To my disappointment however, the drain plug was either massively overtightened or stripped. I wouldn't have known if it was stripped before hand however because it was covered in blue goop (which is apparently a tamper seal of some kind). Having done dozens of oil changes myself on my own cars for 15 years, I did not mistakenly strip a good plug with a small socket wrench. This was clearly overtightened or previously stripped (and its probably the same plug thats been put on and off when she brings it in). It does appear stripped though after I removed the blue goop and have a better picture of it now. I tried to gentle work with it, but no chance, its on there and now Ive wasted $45 bucks in oil and a filter and an hour of my time in the driveway to just have to lower it back down. Would very much appreciate for my mothers sake if yall would replace her drain plug free of charge and let me just change the oil like I'd planned.

Decided to go here since I was sent a coupon despite my reservations for this establishment, figured I try another location. Made an appointment for when they first opened since I knew I wasn't dropping off but staying. I was getting an an oil change and tire rotation. I was there for over 3+ hours! I honestly have never waited that long for a oil change. It would have been nice if the advisor told me upon check-in, once he knew I was staying, that they were backed up and it was going to be a long wait. I would of made other arrangements but instead had me waiting there which seemed like forever. I typically go to Take 5 which have me in and out, guess I'm just use to the ease and quickness there, so will be sticking with them for my oil changes hereafter!

Did a very good job at working me in when I did not have an appointment.I have uses Pep Boys before I moved to Memphis.Glad they are in Memphis.I pass this shop several times a week and the bays are almost always full which means they are doing good work and not out of line on their pricing.

Went there for an oil change. I had an appointment for 12:30pm. After I checked in I was told it would be a "couple of hours" before they would get me in. I asked what the appointments were for and was told that all it means is that they "would finish by the end of the day". That's not what I think having an appointment means. Will not be going back.

Good service on three minor services/fixes; I had downloaded a 15% off coupon. Rear Brakes, pads and rotors, oil change, and cabin air filter replacement. Didn t take long. Reasonable price, nice people. Good experience. Thanks!

Don't bother booking an appointment. At least on a Saturday, it was meaningless. I arrived on time for my appointment for a tire repair and still had a 3 hour wait. The guys actually doing the repair were good and friendly though.

My appointment was for a Thursday morning, dropped off on time at 8 am, for an a/c service at the Park Avenue location. My vehicle was not inspected until Saturday. Upon the overall inspection, I was told there wasn't a problem but I needed a new battery which I had replaced with a new one 2 days prior to dropping it off. Also, last year, my daughter dropped off her vehicle and they replaced the battery only to put a screw into the battery post instead of replacing the broken battery connector. I have always had good luck with this Pep Boys but the service has gone downhill.

We had a random flat tire. You could hear the air coming from the tire. It was late in the afternoon on a Saturday. The staff at Pep Boys took care of us. I will be serving our cars at Pep Boys. Thank you!

My experience was good, oil change and tire repair. Took about 3 hours. Service Advisor was very up front about the wait time. Full Synthetic oil change and tire repair was $158.00.

I recently had a new set of tired put on my SUV. I worked with Dennis when I came in. I have been coming to this location for 10yrs now and have had many sets of new tires for different vehicles I have owned. The service has always been great and work gets done on time, even the pricing is good but what I feel is lacking here is the attention to detail. Like most rims there is brake dust on them but once the rims are handled by the tech there are smudges all over them and they then look worse from when I brought them in. They have never taken the time to even do a simply wipe down of the rims just so they dont look so bad. When I came to get my truck Dennis was not there, I explained my frustration to the guy at the counter but he didnt really know what to say or acted like he cared. I would consider coming back again bc of the location. Cleaning the rims should be an automatic given. Its like having your house painted but they never clean up the over spray on the windows. I dont feel like I should have to ask them to clean the rims, should be part of the process.Update: Was asked to send them an email detailing what I already typed above, they stated they would look into this and as I expected I never received any communication back from them.

My experience with Pep Boy's Memphis, TN Mt. Moriah location was very BAD. I reached on time for appointment on time i set however it took them over an hour to get my car in bay. Then it took them over an hour for them to just do visual inspection on my breaks and rotors to just come back and tell me that I needed all 4 rooters and brake pads, when i told them that i had rear brakes done not too long ago, they came back and revised their professional opinion and said yes it will be fine if we did just the front brakes. The entire process from check-in to getting back to me was done by an associate who seems lost. There was a HUGE disconnect between mechanics and front desk. The person who was assessing and going to work on my car did not seem even a BIT interested in talking to me or explaining me anything. It was like either talk to front desk or get out of this facility.I got ZERO confidence in what they were doing, all I felt was they just wanted to kill their time, get the most monies they could get from me. WORST experience EVER in 32 years of me going to get car fixed. I will NEVER use Peep boys this location ever.

Great service, just took a very long time even though I had a scheduled appointment (I was there for a solid 5 hours). Unless you have an evening to spare and/or something you can do while you re there, drop your vehicle off and come back to get it later.
