Exceptional work and best customer service. Ashley was extremely knowledgeable and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. The staff had my car diagnosed and fixed ahead of schedule and true to the estimate given. The entire experience was unmatched. I will always, highly recommended Central Auto Repair.

POOR QUALITY WORK, MISDIAGNOSIS, AND OVER-CHARGING FOR LABORI entrusted my truck to this shop to address a no-start issue and a coolant leak. To my dismay, my experience has been riddled with disappointment and frustration. The initial shock came when I realized they overcharged me a staggering 9.4 hours ($1200) beyond the industry-standard labor times suggested by Alldata and Mitchel On Demand. While I reluctantly paid, under the impression that I needed my truck promptly, the problems only continued.Not even a full day after retrieving my vehicle, it broke down right in front of a client's business entrance, necessitating an immediate tow. The situation further deteriorated when I discovered electrical cables unclipped, vacuum lines undone, and a missing screw to my engine cover a clear indication of a lack of attention to detail and professionalism. Adding insult to injury, a substantial amount of coolant was leaking from the engine onto the tow bed!While they persisted in asserting that they had resolved the problems, my truck spent an additional week in their care. The ultimate diagnosis was a no-start issue attributed to a faulty fuel pump, rather than the initially suspected O2 sensor a misdiagnosis that could have been avoided. Despite their poor track record, I attempted to negotiate the cost of the fuel pump replacement, given the extent of misdiagnoses, overcharging, and subpar workmanship. Regrettably, their response was only to waive the diagnostic fee, an inadequate gesture considering the string of mishaps.To compound matters, they have chosen to ignore the undeniable photographic evidence of the coolant leak that persists. A simple glance at the pictures is enough to corroborate the ongoing issue. Astonishingly, I was met with the suggestion that I point out the source of the leak a task I had paid $662.53 (2 hours over industry standard) for them to perform!!This establishment's lack of accountability, professionalism, and genuine concern for their customers is nothing short of disappointing. Their refusal to rectify their mistakes and their insistence on passing the responsibility back to me are emblematic of their dismissive attitude.In sum, my experience with this shop has been an exercise in frustration and disillusionment. It is with great disappointment that I leave this review, hoping that others can be spared the ordeal I have endured.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

WOW.. This place is a scam. would recommend to NOT take your vehicle here for any type of service. I set an appointment to simply have a hose on my car inspected and they took it upon themselves without any communication or authorization to perform services that I did not want done. when I asked the front counter why it was done, I was told they weren't sure but that's the price and it must be paid to get the keys. The owner of this business should be ashamed of the lack of customer service and care within this shop.

BEWARE CENTRAL AUTO NO-REPAIR SHOP ,MECHANIC MISDIAGNOSED MY CARS PROBLEM, OVERPRICED PARTS.Monday 8am, I Called shop and told them my car has a timing belt issue, She said tow the car in, after 2 days. Mechanic tells me it's not the timing belt but the "fuel pump" ,and it will be ready about o'clock 12, I didn't hear from them until the next day. I had to walk down to shop because they weren't picking up the phone, MECHANIC then tell me it's a "Circuit Opening relay "and he had to order it and won't be here until next Monday.I told him I can pick that part up at O'Reilly's 8am tomorrow, And that's when the mechanic with tattoos had a hissy fit and told me "Are you trying to tell me how to run my shop !" I told him this is getting childish, i said do it your way, thanks I appreciate it and left, Next morning they call and said tow your car out of here we don't feel comfortable working on it, MECHANIC said just buy "circuit opening relay "and that will fix it , lie ,Basically they couldn't diagnose it, Wasted my time and money towing =$300" One of the 2 receptionists was very rude. mechanic was incompetent. It turned out to be the timing belt after all this, and it was not the" circuit opening relay which i bought $144.that didn't fix it either, Save yourself time stress and money by avoiding this place at all costs..had I read the reviews first.Also be aware of Central auto ownership with their PATENTED RESPONSES TO REVIEWS, they are good at double talk and twisting your words to justify their bad business.

March 23, 2023 - I brought my VW Sportswagen to the shop due to my steering wheel locking up and the ignition lock cylinder somehow got jammed. I assume it was due to a repair shop I took it to back in Arizona when I got stranded for the same reason. They told me that they sprayed down the key hole with a type of silicone spray lubricant, rather than using powdered graphite, which overtime caked up the inside and locked it up again. This mechanic shop is very easy to work with. They got my car towed and fixed. They kept me updated to whenever they ran into an issue, which I appreciated. They got my car fixed and running great.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The VERY BEST experience I ve EVER had dealing with any car repairs! My car was vandalized and they made it like it never happened! Tory and Ashley are very customer service oriented, you can t find that anywhere, especially at a car repair shop! Thank y all for being a shop that you can trust. That is a big plus for y all when it s impossible to find anymore. Thank you all for repairing my car!

These are true mechanics. From classic car rebuilding to fixing a broken wheelchair lift van, these guys have the knowledge and skill to fix whatever ails your car. And great customer service, as Ashley is responsive and has an infectious cheerful mood that helps keep your spirits up.Highly recommend them.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. My car broke down in Memphis and I was stuck for a week. Ashley and the team went SO far above and beyond trying to get my car fixed. I've never worked with a service provider who was THIS helpful or nice. They made a really horrible situation much better. Could not recommend them highly enough.

I own an old car (very nearly, but not quite as old as me!) and I have found it difficult to find someone willing to work on it. Not only was the owner, David ("Red"), willing to work on it, but did a superb job at a great price and explained every step in plain language to me. And he genuinely likes cars - including mine! This place is a godsend to the neighborhood and I highly recommend!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Considering all the positive reviews, I was very disappointed in this place.I made an appointment two weeks ago to have my car serviced at 8:30am on 4/30. I was able to get there earlier and waited for them to open at 8am. Firstly, the shop smelled of cigarette smoke and I was the only one of the three employees that I saw wearing a mask.I checked in with the woman at the front desk and told her I was here for my 8:30am appointment, but that I was early. She then smiled and said "Great, we love when people get here early."I handed her my keys and sat down in the waiting area. The woman at the front desk then looked at me and asked if I would be waiting for my car to which I responded yes. She then said that my car most likely wouldn't be taken back for service until 1:00pm or 2:00 p.m. You can imagine my surprise because I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment.The response was that there was only one technician and there were several cars ahead of me but that if I brought my car back at 1:00, it would be guaranteed seen and should be out by 3:00p. or 4:00 p.m.That was not going to work for me and I very quickly took my keys and left. One technician to me symbolizes a rush job on all of the vehicles being serviced before me. Secondly, my 8:30 a.m. appointment should have been honored but it was not. Thirdly, we are still in the middle of a pandemic and the fact that no one in this establishment wore a mass and that it smelled like smoke was a huge no for me.Thanks for nothing. I'll not be going back there.

Central auto repair did an amazing job guiding me through a repair on my vehicle. Red provided a great deal of insight into the cost and process of replacing my mirror. This garage changed ownership in 2020 and things have really changed for the better. The new owners are truly car people and will do a great job on your car wether it is old or new. On my way to work, and the check engine light came on. Called a few automotive shops and was given the run around as to when the problem could be addressed. Central Auto repair told me not to worry, come on in and they would see what they could do. Needless to say, they quickly fixed the issue I had, and I was back on the road that day!!! Let's just say... You're better off guessing what the problem is than taking it here to be service. Especially when they qoute... IT HAS TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP! Outta all of the money you already spent here... My God forbid anyone who has a major car issue to bring a car here

After seeking help at three other shops and being told either we can t get to it until.... or being quoted crazy prices, I came to Central Avenue. They were eager to assist anyway they could. Prices were very reasonable and they were able to do the work quickly and efficiently. Most definitely will be doing business with them in the future.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Great shop -- had a breakdown nearby on a holiday weekend and they had it in the garage the same day, and fixed it the first workday after that at a fair price. Really appreciate the work guys.
