I chose Tranco Transmissions to repair/rebuild my trucks transmission based on a couple of factors. One being that they are locally owned and because of their one year or 50,000 mile warranty on the work they do.After getting my truck back in just a couple of days from dropping it off to have them perform the job that we agreed on, it ran fine and I had no problems out of it. This truck was my work truck and I rarely ever had to use it except for hauling items to and from the job sites. On the 12 month after receiving my truck back it started having problems with shifting into the upper gears again. Checking to see how many miles I had put on it since the repair I noticed that I had drove it less than 2,000 miles.I took it back to Rick at Tranco and he agreed that something wasn t right and that he would make it right even though I had just went over the one year limit with the warranty.It has now been sitting in the parking lot at Tranco for six months and has yet been touched or even looked at. Every time I go in to check on it I get the same response that I will be next to be pulled into the garage.Six months is way too long for anyone to have to wait for any type of repair. Specially if it s a warranty job.I can t speak on the quality of work performed by Tranco because so far they haven t done anything but cost me one and a half years of loss time with my truck and over $2,000.I would seriously consider taking your vehicle somewhere else that has a better price and history of honoring their work/word.I have a great truck now for sale if anyone wants a good deal and knows someone that can truly repair the transmission.After posting this review I was informed by Tranco of the problem that had caused for my truck not to be fixed. It was due to a manager, that was recently let go , putting my work order to the bottom of the agenda every day. Rick, the owner, once he was notified of the full details insisted that my truck be put into a bay and fixed ASAP. Today I am picking up my truck fully repaired at no cost.I have not yet driven the truck so I can t respond on if it 100% fixed or not but I want everyone know that once Rick was informed of my situation or this post, my truck was fixed.I may have to come back to this post and change my rating to a higher one if it is truly repaired.

After reading most of the reviews, I thought this was an honest and trustworthy business to take my transmission to to be worked on. However, My experience with Tranco had to have been the worst experience Ive had with a business period. I took my working trans to tranco on April 4th of 2023, and then received it back May 15th 2023 after paying over $500. The job was only supposed to take 2 weeks but it took them over a month. And when I got home the transmission wouldn't shift correctly. I brought it back the next day and they were willing to make it right. Just today (July 26th, 2023) I was informed that the work could not be done. I went and picked up the transmission in pieces(see pictures) just under 4 months after I dropped it off of a 2 week job. After talking to Rick the owner he would not issue a refund for a job that him and his people preformed incorrectly the first time and could not perform at all. Complete tyranny from the owner and a completely lack of accountability from this business.In my experience I would not recommend this shop for anything you need done quickly or done right.The builder is the only person there who will give you straight and honest answers, he is the only thing good about that shop.All in all, they destroyed my $1000 transmission and charged me $500 for it.Service: Transmission

My daughter took her car to get a new transmission put in , cost her 4,400 dollars, the transmission only lasted 7 months and they would not fix it! DONT GO THERE THEY ARE CROOKED AND OUT TO SCREW YOU OVER!

They replace my harmonic damper on a 2014 Chevy van LS 6.0, they were suppose to use a new bolt, which they didn t , the bolt needs to be torque to a certain poundage, they must of use a high torque impact wrench because they cranked my crankshaft the workers are a bit scary, and shady, would never trust them with anything

I have brought all my vehicles to tranco for years. After going to multiple others that were not that knowledgeable or just treated you like a paycheck. Rick has always been ready and willing to help. Has done things at no charge, even when it wasn't their problem. I have my business van there as of today and am confident in the work that will be done. They did have a desk guy there that almost made me want to find someone else but apparently he's gone and it's all good. We took our van in, very worried it was going to be a major issue with our transmission. They promptly got our vehicle in for inspection, called us very quickly with the solution and pricing. It was not a major issue thankfully, and they have my old beast running as smooth as the day we bought her! Very polite, respectful, and honest employees. Thank you Tranco, you guys are awesome, and saved my family a lot of hardship. You will always get our business, no matter what the severity is. I have a hard time trusting anybody to work on my vehicles, but Tranco earned all of my trust and respect. We were on vacation with our camper when our transmission started going out. After calling up Jake and telling him my situation, he said bring it right in and we'll take a look. After a quick diagnosis, they began calling around for parts to give me some options. They were more than fair and gave me options for just getting back on the road, or the cost of a full rebuild while they were in there. Most shops would have just quoted the highest price and not given options. They then went above and beyond to get my truck done quickly to get us back on the road. The truck made a 10 hour trip pulling an 11k pound camper hours after picking it up from the shop! A true test of a transmission rebuild and it performed flawlessly. I can't thank them enough.Service: Transmission

I cannot recommend this shop more highly. There is a reason the parking lot is always packed. Knowledgeable employees. They went above and beyond to contact a transmission manufacturer, set up a warranty claim, and replace a transmission. The labor rate was spot on. They charged me for the correct install time and communicated often. If you call and it is busy do not be deterred.Service: Transmission

Highly recommend, for their honesty and integrity. I thought my car was having transmission issues, I took it in and they accurately diagnosed it. They could have easily taken advantage of my situation but they found the issue and fixed it, and turns out I didn t need a new transmission. In this day and age where everywhere you go seems to work off commission where they tell you 15 extra issues, it was such a great experience for them to simply diagnose the issue and fix it. Rick and his crew are awesome! Highly recommend. They know what they are doing. Rick will do you good on pricing too. My engine computer had went out, I could not have asked for better service and price. They back their work up too. Rick does it all, except tires and alignment. If you need that I'm sure he can give you a good referral somewhere. Keep up the great honest work!!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

So I came here a month ago because I was concerned about my transmission. Rick came out and looked at my car for free and said it looked good. He gave me his card just in case something happened and sure enough a month later, my transmission was out (don't buy nissan). I brought my car in Monday at 4pm and it's now Wednesday at 2pm, and my transmission is fully replaced. I'm incredibly impressed by how quickly the team did this. Other places quoted me $2000 more then Rick and said it was a 2 week wait. Now I see why they have great reviews and why I will now be one of them.

GREAT PEOPLE,GREAT WORKWe were on vacation and something started acting weird on my 2010 Ford Expedition. I took it to these guys to check it out for me. This was a perfect opportunity to get taken advantage of. A single woman, out of state on vacation. BUT NOT THESE GUYS! 100% honest! They did a scan right away, gave me some options on how to handle it, then got me in right away and fixed the problem. The owner and desk guy even sat and chatted with me so I wasn't board. Great group of guys. I highly recommend them for any auto work you need done.THANK YOU TRANCO FOR KEEPING ME HAPPY ON VACATION.

We brought our 1991 Dodge Truck in to have transmission rebuilt. We had to take same truck in for engine work less than a year (around 4-6 month) and the mechanic said every seal on transmission was leaking. This is second transmission we have had done here and had to take it back in less than a year. While they are willing to make it right, I am hesitant to go there again because I want it repaired right the first time. Will update when mechanic finishes with our truck and we can discuss with owner.Service: Transmission

I had a truck leaking transmission fluid towed here for a free estimate. I did not get the work done and just selling it as is, so I can t speak to the actual work. But I can speak to the friendliness over the phone, the information kindly being shared and explained, promptness of their call back with the results within 48 hours. They allowed me to leave the truck there for a little longer than I anticipated because I had an accident & couldn t get down there right away. I would definitely recommend if you re looking for honest, quick, affordable & kind! Thank you for having a personable staff!

I was very impressed with the friendly knowledgeable guys that worked there. Rick was so friendly and helped to make a decision to repair, rebuild and recondition my car. It drives better then it ever has since I got it 3 years ago. I want to thank Rick and his staff for such great service

Yes, sometimes they are a little busy and it may take a couple days to get your vehicle in for service, but their quality of service and customer care are top notch. Pricing is very competitive.

Rick Snell at Tranco has a great transmission shop. Rick and his folks took great care of our 2005 Jeep Liberty. We had over 200,000 miles on the vehicle when the transmission started giving us trouble.Tranco diagnosed and provided details of the repairs needed. Work was completed in the time frame and price discussed. Tranco provides a warranty and asks you to bring the vehicle back for a free check after a certain time to check the transmission to make sure there are no issues. Good people and good work.

Never again.. took my chevy cruze in for transmission repairs about two years ago and returned about 4 times. Finally just gave up cost me over $4000 for nothing but a hard time... so there's no way I'll ever do business with or recommend them to anyone.Service: Transmission repairService: Transmission repair

Took them a used transmission I purchased for them to inspect and make recommendations. I had no idea of its history or condition, they could have totally taken advantage of me but after their complimentary internal inspection they gave it a clean bill of health. Rick and Brian were friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and professional. Could not be happier with the outcome and will be recommending them to a friend tomorrow.

A little over a year ago, my F150 kept losing her gears. It was like she'd be stuck in Neutral. One day she barely made it to Tranco and they completely rebuilt the transfer case. They were very quick and thorough with her. Today she's still running as strong as the day she rolled out of their shop. I highly recommend this shop. Friendly, quick, thorough & they get the job done.

I've had several dealings with Tranco and the customer service there is outstanding. Without spamming this review with too many details, I had a few long overdue repair issues with my 1995 F-250, and it took some time to get it all worked out, but they were focused on taking care of me every step of the way. Definitely recommend them.

I have an older Lincoln which had an off again - on again issue. ( it had issues when I drove it and no one else. The first shop cost $700 to fix the problem and it reoccur the same day I picked it up. Even and Rick were total professionals. They spent way more time figuring out the problem then they probably got paid for. They fought my repair insurance company repeatedly. Everything they did was professional and first rate. I completely recommend them without reservation.

Hands down best customer service I've ever seen. Rick and the other employees didn't just treat me as a customer or just another person but they treated me like family they were very open and honest and they took into account the other issues I was having as far as financial and made sure that I found the best way to pay for the repairs and also thanks me for my military service and made sure if they got me on the road safely without emptying my bank account and if I ever have any issues again I will not hesitate to take my vehicle to the guys at Tranco

Worst experience of my life. Not only did they not fix my transmission after two tries, they broke my radiator, which was fairly new, and they forgot to rehook a component which hit my fan belt (we fixed fixed that). Nothing that went wrong was their fault. Radiator just happened to break, transmission was the part people's fault.... And yes they made me pay for the radiator. $3,000 and two weeks of empty promises later and we had no choice but to buy a new car. They didn't seem to care a bit that they took food off my kids table, wasted my money and my time. I wouldn't listen to any these reviews, because they may be good most of the time, but, when you mess up, and we all mess up, how you respond means more to me and shows their true character. I had to give them one star to write a review but I wanted to give no stars. I get sick every time I think about it.

I called at 8 am on Tuesday and brought in my BMW. The boys at Tranco tested my transmission and concluded the issue to be the clutch on my vehicle. I'm very mechanically savy and the boys at Tranco handled my clutch replacement without a hitch. Rick quoted a price and after all was said and done it was the price quoted that I paid. By 1 pm on Wednesday my vehicle had been repaired and has never operated better. They gave me a one year 12000 mile warranty and I couldnt have been happier. Rick is a trustworthy individual and I felt 100% comfortable with their quote. Granted they weren't the cheapest quote I recieved but I chose them based on the level of customer service and am glad I did!!!!!!! Not only did they answer any question I had they were able to accomodate the special requests I needed based upon my schedule. I would recommend Tranco to ANYONE needing transmission work. Customer service is one of the best bar none!!!!!!!

Not to only have transmission work but I also get regular automotive repairs and maintenance done here. They are very good and are reasonably priced. I ve recommended this shop to several of my friends who have also been very pleased.

My husband called around to several "complete auto care" shops and everyone said they didn't work on transmissions, so we did a Google search and found these guys! They turned my car around in about a day and the price was better than I was expecting! Thank you!

Took my suv in to have the trans looked at,told me they did a check on the engine and that i had 2 bad cylinders. Told them to talk to the warranty place. Long story short they tore my engine apart without my consent,didn't fix the problem and charged me for labor i didn't authorize and also storage fees from the time I took it in. Simple check cost $1400.00 and I still had to fix my car cause the parts they gave me was also bad. Don't go there,the owner is an ass and rick is a lier. Don't go there they will rob you blind,that's how he gets those vehicles he sells.
