Disappointing Service and Safety Concerns at Toyota of KnoxvilleMy recent service appointment at Toyota of Knoxville was underwhelming, prompting me to share my experience with others considering this dealership for their vehicle maintenance needs. While the staff exhibited basic courtesy and the facility was clean, several key issues led to my dissatisfaction and the low rating of this review.First and foremost, the cost of basic labor was astonishingly high. When you bring your vehicle to a dealership for service, you expect to pay a little more for what you assume will be top-notch service and expertise. However, the rates at Toyota of Knoxville were inflated even for the most straightforward services, which are considerably more affordable elsewhere. This pricing strategy seems to take advantage of loyal customers and does not reflect well on their business ethics.Moreover, the service team's persistent upselling was off-putting. I was bombarded with recommendations for additional, seemingly unnecessary services for my SUV. This pressure to agree to extra work that was not immediately required felt like a classic 'upsale' attempt, and it detracted from my trust in their genuine concern for my vehicle's needs.To compound the negative experience, the vehicle pick-up process was both awkward and concerning. Upon arrival to retrieve my SUV, we were instructed by one of the service department members to wait in an unsafe area, right next to where service vehicles were actively moving in and out. Recognizing the potential danger, I found this direction to be rather senseless. My instinct was to prioritize our safety, so we decided to move to the waiting area, away from the traffic, which is where customers should be directed to wait in the first place.In summary, the combination of excessive labor costs, unwelcome sales pressure, and a lackadaisical approach to customer safety have led me to rate Toyota of Knoxville with just two stars. It is my hope that the management will address these issues seriously and implement changes that reflect a higher standard of customer service and care.Until then, I would be hesitant to return or recommend this dealership for service.

Never had such a positive service experience. The service area is always clean. The staff keeps you up to date on the progress of your car. I really like that if they're going to keep your car awhile, they have a service to take you home until they're finished.

Everyone in the service shop always treats me like a VIP. Very honest people, and they're very responsive to answering your questions over the phone. The bathroom is always clean. If you're hungry the cafe has a lot of choices and good coffee. I had great experiences with service reps Alex, John, and Austin. I have not interacted with the sales people but I trust this service center to help me with anything my older Toyota needs.

Be prepared to wait 3 hours for an oil change. No communication or advice during service. My service consultant told me that this is standard procedure and they do not advise customers. They promise an hour and let you rot in the waiting area. I will find someplace else.

If I could give no stars, I would. I brought my car in for an oil change and it was in working order. When I got it back before I left the parking lot as soon as I restarted it all of a sudden it has a alternator issue it never had. Now my husband has had to fix it, and they refuse to help. They said they didn't break it but it was fine before they put their hand on it. Called the service director and no return call. I will never use them again

I can't say enough nice things about the service center at Toyota of Knoxville. I showed up a week early for my scheduled appointment i felt like such an idiot, but the service manager was so incredibly kind and funny it made me feel so much better!! 10/10 would recommend

Ryan was so great! Kind, patient, helpful knowledgeable. We were en route to visit our daughter and her family. Had 7 hours behind us, Two and a half more to go when dash light came on. Ryan told us it would be about 2 and a half hours to get it in. Sure enough, just about exactly in that about of time he came to get us and got us on our way!

They did a perfect job on my 2014 Corolla. Just needed a four new tires with a four wheel alignment . They washed my car. Outstanding job!

Took our 2014 Prius to Toyota Knoxville Service Center for a routine tire rotation and checkup before our trip to North Carolina.First, our front hub cap was not reattached properly and went missing on East on 40. Then, an array of issues stemmed from low coolant and brake fluid levels.Had to stop in Hickory, NC, for repairs they mentioned were avoidable had Toyota Knoxville Sercice Center properly inspected the vehicle.The whole ordeal cost us an additional $1074.75, and a mising hub cap.

I bought a 2011 Camry in June 2010. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. However, it now has 196,000 miles and has developed transmission and timing gear issues. I was given a Lifetime warranty when we purchased the car, so I thought all was good. Regardless of being told when we purchased the car that we could perform our own oil changes, the warranty, (which must be read with a magnifying glass), states you must have all service performed at a shop. I'm still trying to figure out how changing my own oil could negatively affect the transmission. The service person to whom I was assigned will NOT respond to either a phone call or an email. He will ONLY text. After getting the message that the warranty company declined to cover my car, I had to ask him, by text, to call me and when we spoke, his voice made it clear that he was as unconcerned as possible, "I'm only the middle man". The last message I sent was requesting contact info for the warranty company so I might get a bit of clarification. That message has been totally ignored. If you use the service department at Toyota of Knoxville AND get assigned to John Fox, request someone else, unless you live to text and don't mind being ignored!

Our Needing Service light came on while on a recent road trip for my wife and myself. We were about 100 miles from Knoxville and we're able to call and make an appointment for that afternoon. Service writer was very friendly and accommodating. Our required service was performed and given a courtesy car wash. We were back on the road within 90 minutes.

I had a bad experience here a few months ago but wanted to give them another try and was hoping my experience would be better. Unfortunately it wasn't. Went to get an interior piece to my vehicle replaced. Was told they would have to order the part and I could take the vehicle since it was drivable and they would let me know when it came in. That was great. Part came in very quickly. I made an appointment and was told it should only take about 10 minutes to swap it out and I would be out of there. I show up for the appt and 2.5 hours later I finally get my vehicle back. When I asked for an update at 1.5 hours they said they only had two interior techs that could fix my vehicle and when one becomes available they would work on my vehicle and 3 others. I don't see the point of making an appt if they aren't gonna be able to kept. I get things can get behind a bit, but 2 hours of sitting around for nothing when I had an appointment? This place is too big for its own good. Its way too busy disorganized and cannot handle the workload.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Amazing service, had my air conditioning system worked on. The repairs were extremely well done and look amazing. Ryan was extremely helpful as an advisor and restored my faith within the Toyota company. Would highly recommend this service department

The gentleman i spoke to Chris was so nice. I had just gotten off a 10 hour night shift at 9am and our app was originally at 3:45, spoke to him and he told us to take our time that they look forward to seeing us. He was very nice and professional. Then when we got there Greg in the service area took great care of us. My fiance made a right choice to go to them directly they are very nice people and even did a carwash afterward. saved us time, money, etc.

I just got my car back from the Service Department. Philip K was my Adviser. I can t overstate how positive the experience was. I had a plastic piece hang down. To replace it would have cost 600+. They tried replacing the clips. It worked. It was done in about 45 minuets. My price for the service $5.20. This is fantastic Customer Service. I could not have had a better experience. My highest praise to them. And, a thank you to God for his assistance also.Service: Body & Trim

Service has too large and has too much going on to stay organized. Was told part was in and to come in at 8am to have ac part replaced. Said it should be a quick job. My experience here was not great at all. My daughter and I broke down in pigeon forge and had our newly purchased used Highlander towed here. I was told that it should ve been able to have the diagnostics ran Saturday to see if we d be able to drive it home Sunday. That didn t happen, which I understand. I had to call three different times Monday to see what was going on. I was finally able to talk to someone and all they said was the transmission needed replacing and it would be around $8,000. No explanation, nothing. Then I was told two different times to have my daddy call on my behalf. I have never dealt with such a group of misogynistic individuals. I am a grown woman who works in healthcare with the population everyday. I cannot imagine ever treating my patients with the blatant disregard these people treated me with. Beware getting your car serviced here.

Took much longer than we were told it was going to take, but those things happen. However, let it not do much of a job of cleaning the car. I'll post a picture pic. In addition to this, I had to stop and clean the windshield the first time it got rainy.

This is unfortunately disappointing and might I say the first time in a Toyota dealership for me that such a potential scam has happened. I came in with my 2009 Toyota Prius for a check engine light. After taking $400 for diagnosis and keeping the car for one full day telling that it is something deeper, they say that the car needs a new engine and the cost is $7,000. Haha. Too bad for them I declined it and just asked for my car back. I went to another Toyota service center and they literally laughed out loud that aToyota dealership could even suggest such a thing. They said the Prius engine or any Toyota engine for that matter doesn't need to be changed at just 150 k miles. The engine was fine and all I needed was a new spark plug for my cylinder one misfire. It is unfortunate, misleading and disappointing that this Toyota dealership is out there giving wrong information and not just that, but misleading the customer into believing something that was never even required. If it was somebody who was not mechanically inclined as me they would have fallen into the trap. I'm not sure if they are seriously running out of money or they're just waiting for somebody to scam. But this is unacceptable and just disappointing.

Had John Fox set me up with a new set of brakes. Not only did they do a great job, but were still able to get me the brakes I needed regardless of the fact that there was a shortage of ford brakes and none were available at the time. They re very speedy and nice here! If your car ever needs anything else done on top of whatever you re going in for, they ll let you know and won t do anything more unless you give them the green light. They keep you updated if things are taking longer than anticipated too! I utilize the lounge while I m waiting and usually do school work or have a snack at the snack bar. I love taking my RAV4 here

Some of the best customer service and honesty I have ever seen was with Toyota of Knoxville's Service department. Shannon was one of the best service reps I have worked with owning multiple brands and by far he went over and above to be honest and transparent about service needs. Customer service was easily transparent with him and for that I am grateful and will keep my business with them. I cannot complain one bit. Thank you Shannon!Services: Wheel alignment, Oil change

The latest visit provided great service. Service representative Cody went out of his way to satisfy. The waiting room area was spread out at least 6ft. They were extremely busy, but still cared for how I was doing. They offered food and drink for free. Great experience on this visit.

Toyota Service department excels in many ways. They text and call you to keep you notified of the status of your service, one gets timely updates, and the service is courteous.However, the work performed was having ties replaced and interior bulbs replaced. While I recognize that there was some troubleshooting involved in this process as there was concern with voltages, this being an all day event. I can't fault Toyota for the amount of time. However, it was stated that there was an included car wash and that did not occur. I'm not disappointed about this enough to have it addressed, but I feel that these sort of things cause problems in service shops; what happens when you expect specific service to be completed but everything but that service is completed? Hopefully nothing, but in my experience, I can say I've almost been stranded because of issues like these at other shops. I don't want to set the stage as if this shop is a bad one; I'll be returning until I'm given a reason not to, but I felt like I should explain why at this time it received a 4 out of 5 stars. (It is still a good rating).

Great experienced as usual. Never been treated bad or disrespected as a client here. If so, I'd bring it to their attention, and I firmly believe they'd take care of it. I've done business with them since 95. Back when they were in the old building on the pike.

We were absolutely pleased with Toyota Knoxville. We were a walk in and really did not have to wait very long for them to take care of the problem.
