I thought I d already wrote a review about these guys. But they ve saved me thousands of dollars and been extremely helpful in the interim. When I moved to Knoxville I got in a crash in my truck that resulted in a tweaked frame. Not bad enough to total the car in my opinion but bad enough that it wouldn t go in a straight line. A couple shops tried to sell me a new frame for about 15k and said no one would touch it. Petes was able to re-tweak it and align it and I drove the truck for many more years without issue. Since then I ve brought them every car I ve owned for alignments, and I bring them back every 30k miles. It keeps my tires from premature wear and makes the cars safer and more comfortable to drive. I hope they stay in business for many more years.

Pete's Alignment Service has been in the same location for over 70 years and employees some of the same employees it did more than 30 years ago. They specialize in Alignments, Front end work, frame straightening, and suspension work. They are one of the only shops around that you can take your car or truck to and ask for a manual alignment or a laser alignment.

Stay away if you value your life!Had in for a clunking noise in the front drivers side. They did find the cause and fixed. However, a week later on a trip along I-75 I stopped to stretch my legs. When I got back in and put in drive the front started bucking off the ground and making a grinding metal on metal noise. Checked and discovered the brake caliper had come off because the bolts had come out from them not tightening. The caliper had also cut an eighth inch deep groove around the entire inside of the wheel. Thankfully there was an autozone nearby and was able to get a couple of bolts. When I went to take the wheel off allowing better access, I found the lug nuts were only finger tight. I'm very thankful that it all didn't come apart while out on the interstate! But wait....it only gets better!Vehicle sat parked for the next month while we were on vacation. When I got back I was driving on I-40 when it began pulling to the left. After several times of correcting, I decided that I needed to get off the road as something wasn't right. When I let up off the accelerator, the Vehicle immediately turned left and through the guardrail. Fortunately there was a wide grassy area between east and westbound lanes, so I didn't go into oncoming traffic.I then took the vehicle to two different certified repair shops and had checked out. Both have verified that not only the front end alignment I was charged for wasn't done, but they didn't grease the new serviceable ball joints that Pete's installed. I got everything in writing from the shops. Then I called Pete's to let them know. I was asked what I expected them to do. I let them know that the "nationwide insurance repair insurance policy" they provide will not cover any damages caused by the faulty repair job. I told them that I had filed a claim with my insurance and asked for them to cover the deductible. Do I even need to say how that went?Anyway, $11,000 later in damages and now will probably be paying a higher insurance rate, all because of Pete's! Guess I should just be thankful that I'm alive and if you value your life or that of any passengers, you will go somewhere else!Responding on original post because there's no option otherwise. Did call and was told that I'd get a call back. That was about a month ago. You know who I am and have my contact information. If you truly cared about customer service and high "quality" service, you would have returned contacted me, but instead only making a comment on a bad review

Paid 35+tax to put my car in the lift and look for a power steering leak. Fixed that section of line and still leaks from somewhere else. I called and talked to the manager and he said not everyone is perfect but he would not refund my money and had no interest in working on my car. He provided no solution other than to say he wouldn't refund my money. I spent about 20$ on parts to fix the line where they said it was leaking only to find out that it was leaking on the rubber hose above and to the left of it. Now they won't answer.

These people do great work. Took my Jeep to firestone 2 times to have it aligned. They could not get it done correctly. Called Pete's got same day appointment and it only took them 30mins.They were very honest in telling me I needed to replace ball joints but something that had to be right away. away.

Nice to know they would not just align my car without getting proper parts. Only thing is they did have to charge a core charge for bringing it into the garage, as I was under the impression my Ford Taurus only needed an alignment, but thanks to the mechanics @Pete'sAlignmentShop they were able to diagnose the issues without charging a huge retainer fee to just evaluate the car. I believe most shops would have raised the price up to "Ungodly Prices" just because of me not having too much knowledge about the "Auto Repair Trade" and them sharing the truth about what the car actually needed rather than just telling me to go somewhere else and allowing me to drive off without having a clue about the actual default the car was experiencing. Thanks again for the honesty. God blezz all who were involved.

Made the appt. Arrived and they put my truck right on the rack and started doing the alignment and it was in bad shape. The Tech was finished in about 55 minutes and everyone that I dealt with was very professinal and I would highly recommend Pete's to anyone needing chassis work done

As a car illiterate female I was so impressed with how they made sure they told me everything they were doing to my car and the cost of everything before doing something without asking. They even talked to my brother- who referred me here because his shop doesn t have the machine to do alignments. The transparency and willingness to ease my anxieties was so incredibly appreciated. I would recommend Pete s to anyone needing alignments, brakes, rotors or anything suspension related!!!!Service: Wheel alignment

I was recommended to take my car there by a coworker, and I am very glad I did. I took my car to get my brakes changed. After further inspection, they recommended we make an additional repair and asked to show me up close before we decided what to do. I felt no pressure and was glad they pointed it out to me. Mike and his crew were very kind and helpful and I had a great experience!

This shop is very professional and gets the work done in a reasonable amount of time. It's important to deal with a shop you can trust and Pete's fills the bill. Thanks for great service. That being said they are probably not the cheapest in town but you know the old saying "you get what you pay for".

My experience with Pete's Alignment. After the alignment it was still pulling . So they told me to replace all four are just the two because of the trend of the tire. I replaced the front two and of course it was still pulling. They put it back on the rack and another gentleman got two tools and untighten something on both sides and tha fixed the pulling. I probably didn't needed an alignment nor replaced any tires.

Took my truck in about two months ago and explained to Mike the history of the truck and issues that I had been having.I made sure to write everything down since I've a chronic illness that sometimes makes it difficult to communicate properly, which was quite helpful the following day when Mike was able to fit me in the schedule. The inspection/alignment revealed some toe out adjustment and need for new tires. The following week I had new tires put on and have been very satisfied with the results. Especially for a near 20 yr old vehicle with 250k miles plus.I thought for sure I'd be needing to replace ball joints and tie rod ends, but Mike's crew member assured me that all those parts checked out to be in good condition. My only beef is with the potholes that must've beat my old tires and wheels in bad shape to cause the kind of issues I was having.Mike, if you're reading this, thank you! It's a joy to have local businesses like yours around who care.Update: glad my review here has been well used. I hope to contact this business soon to see how they are doing and seek further services.

Enjoy your retirement Mr. Hensley - you were always a fair, christian, honest individual that valued service and integrity. Prices have gone up 50% and it's no longer the value of the low-overhead shop. Not competing with any other alignment shop anymore, in fact it's in line with the high dollar ones now. I always knew Mr. Hensley wouldn't recommend something I didn't need, which always kept me as a customer. I'll have to determine if it's worth it to travel over there when I can get the same-priced service at just about anywhere - it s now $77.87 for an alignment which is actually more that 50% higher than it used to be. Not up to me to determine pricing but I can make that relative comparison in what i paid very easily. Sad day but great for Mike and wish him the best.Service: Wheel alignment

Absolutely terrible. I got frame work done. The damage was severe, but was told they could do it. I was not expecting perfect because it s hard to get a car back into shape after extensive damage. Nonetheless, they did a terrible job. They did not even finish the job because it seemed like they were done dealing with me. They were happy to have me gone and take my money. SHAME ON THEM. They were about to let me drive the car off the lot with no antifreeze in the car. Thank goodness I am a bit competent in basic car operations. Two hoses were also not clipped on, but did not realize until I got home. It honestly seemed like they had no idea about cars...I definitely would not recommend taking your car to them.

Mike and the other employees were more than able to accommodate me as I had to reschedule my appointment twice. Their friendliness was only surpassed by their professionalism. The work is %100 and upfront pricing helped us a lot. Way to go guys

Friendly.Honest.I acquired about replacing brakes while I got my alignment done. Since it was an older model used vehicle I assumed they also needed to be fixed or replaced.I received a very polite call stating they were fine and an alignment was all it needed. No wonder they were highly recommended .

Took my Hyundai Elantra to them a few weeks ago due to a bent frame and they had it in the shop for about 6 days. I told them that I rely on my car to do work since I am a delivery driver and they simply acted like they didn t care. They didn t even call me when the job was done. I had to call up there and one of the staff told me that it was ready to pick up. WHEN I CALLED. That s not even the worst part. When they were putting the engine/oil pan back on under my car, they secured it with zip ties! Seriously?? I figured that out this morning when I went to drive off and the thing was dragging the ground. Plus, a small pothole messed up my alignment again. I can t believe this place was recommended by somebody, or that they have been in business this long, but I won t return.

Stopped in yesterday as I was passing through Knoxville with a new-to-me 2000 Excursion that was shimmying and wandering. Mike (the owner) told me that all the mechanics seemed fine, "Maybe the balljoint is a little stiff and could be replaced soon; as it is, there is no danger, and this is not causing any problem." He gave me an education on the front end. Finally, he suggested it was the tires and sent me to the tire place down get road. Having poked and prodded for about an hour (along with his son), he charged me just $35. He could have told me it needed a whole lot more...; but, he didn't. I'm grateful for knowledgeable and honest mechanics.
