I not happy... I was told the labor would be $1500 and I was charged $1800 for labor.I was charged 1800 for a clutch kit, but asked for a break down of that and if it included a flywheel..... To no reply. I paid $3600 to Jerry without the ticket or invoice. I ask for one they said they mailed it out, but I never received it in the mail.. I've texted them with no response back. My next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau Automotive Division.I want my $300. $3616.00 is a little much for a clutch. I figured $2600 that would have been fine with me. AAMCO should have been cheaper. They never sent me the original billing. They told me they requested it from their accountant but never received it.And it needed a a front alignment too. Which I paid $75 to add to my frustration.Maybe know I'll get some answers now.I would not recommend this shop to my ex-wife!663829547 my cell.

Jerry and team are excellent to work with. They diagnosed and fixed our transmission issue on a 2016 Mazda CX-5. The real win for us was their customer service. In the midst of 8 of snow and single digit temperatures, our car at home wouldn t start. So Jerry s team delivered our car and then jumped the other car off and got it running. They went above and beyond and are A+++ in my book.

I was advised to check this place out when thought I was having issues w my transmission. Found out it wasn't, but it was my front differential. The customer service was great from the jump. The young lady working in the office is ON HER S***. She knew what I needed, who I needed to talk to, who she thought would be best working on my car based on her staff. She made sure I was always up to date on where they were in fixing my car each day(I would call. she would stop what she was doing to give update.) The staff there have their own specialties as they are all legit mechanics. She got my keys, they took care of the rest. My total was cheaper than what they quoted me. Check this place out if you need ANYTHING done to your vehicle.

We went to this shop because it was the only one that had openings, and we could not find anyone to find the part we needed. THESE people here are so nice and was so helpful. WE were able to get our truck fixed and it has been running like a champ since. The part we needed was on backorder but they were able to get it and we are forever grateful. THank you Jerry and crew and the lady in the office .

Amazing work! Like any auto body shop worth taking a vechicle to, they were a little backed up. But when they work on your automobile you get honesty and prices thay can't be beaten. Communication was perfect every step of the way. Highly recommende!!

I dropped my car off Monday morning at 8am. It was drivable but leaking transmission fluid. By 11am they told me it was the pan and when asked what the estimate was they told me it would be an hour of labor plus the part. I did not get it back until Thursday at 1:30. Instead of just telling me they had to order a part or that they had other cars they were finishing they just kept saying they would try to get to it. They did charge the quoted price, but I found out after the fact that they transported it to a different shop without telling me and they never contacted me for anything. Even when they told me they would call, they did not. All the information I got was because I called them when they didn't call when they were supposed to. When my sister and mother picked it up for me because I had to work, they were just towing it back from the other shop they took it to. When the admin asked my sister to sign for it, she insisted on looking the vehicle over first. She told me the girl threw a hissy fit and shoved the paper at her and told her she didn't have to sign it. She said the admin also seemed angry that the man I talked to told me when the car would be done and that we were told it was moved.For me personally, the entire interaction was ridiculous and none of it would have been unacceptable if they had communicated with me. But they did not. I will not go back to them again.

Sold a work truck to my boyfriend: 2011 3500 Silverado with a bad transmission less than a month ago. The owner said that they do not care that the truck has transmission issues and my boyfriend should have inspected it better. Crooks. Absolutely disgusting business practice. They are not willing to assist, he said hemay be willing to sell my boyfriend a transmission at cost but will not be putting it in. Wow how kind of this company to sell a transmission in a vehicle that they sold with a bad transmission. This is absurd. BBB will be contacted immediately.

DO NOT WASTE TIME HERE. My truck was damaged by an employee while getting trans rebuilt. Damages equaled the labor so we called it even and went our separate ways. Since the rebuild my truck has been towed back for the THIRD time now. Each visit being not under warranty .Additionally, when I picked the truck up from the first time being rebuilt the truck bed had 2 oily used car parts that didn t belong to my vehicle, a gas system cleaner bottle, and their lunch from Burger King. I just had my 2005 BMW 530i transmission rebuilt and overhauled it was slipping. When I received car I ve was extremely satisfied with the work the car drove like it just drove off the lot when it was new. I would recommend them to anyone! I was suggested this shop because it was in my warranty network through carmax. The transmission was going out on my VW Jetta, this shop did a great job with not only fixing but were very understanding and worked with me as I had to move to a different state during the wait. The customer service from the office was great and the quality of work done on my vehicle was profound. My 2013 VW Jetta is now a brand new car! I dont know which employee worked on it but thank you so much! I know the job must have been a nightmare but I'm glad it ended up at Budget transmission.Service: Transmission

Jerry is an experienced transmission expert whose shop does a lot of transmission work for the major auto dealers in town. That alone says a lot! He truly knows what he is doing, and has been doing it for over 30 years. I had a CVT transmission die on me (2014 Nissan Murano). I towed my car to his shop. He had me put it right into the bay. They repaired it overnight. Note: They promised it in two days, but instead did the job overnight. That's amazing. I've never met Jerry before that day. He had been recommended to me by the Nissan dealership. He and his crew did not disappoint. Oh, and I did my shopping before handing my car over to him. His was the lowest price by far of the five estimates I got from all across Knoxville. Moreover, other shops promised the job in four to seven days. And, as I said, Jerry handled it overnight and at the lowest price. I'm a customer forever now!Service: Transmission

This is the first time I have ever had to have anything this big done on my car and I was terrified being disabled and having limited funds. I just happened to call this place and Jerry, the owner, answered the phone. I was clueless. He spent at least half hour on the phone with me explaining everything and answering questions. My transmission had been "going out" for quite sometime. I needed it fixed right and I needed a warranty to take care of it for a little while. Jerry assured me I would have both. They are wonderful to keep in touch with you during the process to let you know how things are going. John is another one I talked with a few times on the phone and he too, answered all my questions and kept in contact with me until my car was ready. I would be very happy to refer anyone to go there. They are very professional.The best part of the entire experience was picking up my car yesterday! It is like a new car. A 2001 Honda Accord and it runs like it did 10 years ago when I bought it. I think I had forgotten how bad it was. I am very happy with it. If you have a transmission problem, call Jerry or John and they will be glad to take care of you. I sure am glad I did.UPDATE! 6 YEARS LATER!Still running great.

These folks truly saved my car! What would have took on average four days, took them only a day and some change!!! John was an absolute saint! He was extremely flexible in fitting me in and understanding my situation (I was traveling from Detroit to Atlanta when my transmission went out on 75 S). He thoroughly explained the diagnostics report and what needed to be done. Since I had to stay overnight at a nearby hotel, they had two staff members drive me back, one of which was a young woman who wanted to make sure I was comfortable in the car. Such great southern hospitality! Prices were more than reasonable. John really cared about making lasting relationships with his customers. He was not in the business to "nickel and dime" me. While this type of work is not an easy or quick job, they kept me informed and were honest with me the whole time. I honestly could not have been more blessed to find a shop like this on such short notice and in such an emergent situation. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE with an auto shop. We brought our fleet vehicle here with concerns over the transmission. We approved 3.5 hours of labor to remove the transmission for diagnosis, then elected to take it someone else for the repair. When I came to get our van, he told me I needed to pay 7 hours, that they would not allow me to take the van and that they were charging an additional 3.5 hours labor to reinstall the transmission. When I asked him to show me my transmission, it was scattered across his shop in roughly 4-5 different locations, as he said some of it s there, some is there, some is over there... as he randomly pointed around his workshop. There were many transmissions in pieces....which leads to big concerns on how they know what parts belong to which vehicle? I refused to pay for additional work, as after discussing with my attorney he has no legal grounds to keep my vehicle or reassemble anything he has not been hired to reassemble. He threatened a mechanics lien, which my attorney confirmed he had no grounds to file for. He was specifically instructed NOT to reinstall the transmission and he agreed to place the parts in a box, I would pick the van up with a tow truck the next morning at 10am. I locked my van and took the key. At 10am, when I arrived, the van had been unlawfully opened by his staff, the transmission had been reinstalled against instruction, and the owner cowardly did not show up for our arranged meeting. I wish I had read these reviews first. This has wasted 2 full days of our fleet van being out of service, costing out business money. He will cost me an extra $400 to have the transmission removed again. He was highly unprofessional and runs a shady business that apparently tries to strong arm customers into expensive repairs that may or may not be necessary. We paid the 3.5 hours of labor and took our van to another shop. I don t know how this place has stayed in business this long. Even the tow truck driver said he had towed more vehicles out of that shop for similar circumstances than he could remember. Do NOT recommend. If I ran my business like this I couldn t sleep at night.

Jerry and Katy at Budget Transmission really took care of me when my transmission took a dive. They were very fast, and accommodating with getting my 2010 Chevy Silverado into their shop, fixed, and back on the road. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not to mention affordable. Shady business tactics. Transmission shop sold a truck with a bad TRANSMISSION... Said they would sell a new trans but had no interest installing it or making things right. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere.

Selling a truck with a bad transmission is shady business, but then putting it on the buyer saying they should have checked it out better is really low. Would recommend taking business elsewhere.

Budget always fixes the problem! They have my car back on the road in a very reasonable time and price. I feel very comfortable knowing my family's safety is their biggest priority! They have taken care of not only my car but also my whole family have been using Budget for almost 20 years now. Thanks for all the years of great service!

Budget is a joke I wouldn t recommend them. Took my nv4500 there for a rattling noise in fifth gear they supposedly put a fifth gear assembly in and said it was fixed went and got it and it was still making the same sound so I took it back they kept it for 2 weeks then they said there was nothing they could do about it it was coming from somewhere else. And you can t get ahold of anybody to tell you anything while they have ur stuffService: Transmission

I went here to fix my truck transmission and I will never go back nor recommend it. I was told that I needed a new transmission and it would cost me 1200. So I went for it. I paid for a rebuilt transmission. After some time I went to pick it up and after doing a quick check I began to smell fresh paint. I questioned it. After scratching the paint off, I seen that it was my original transmission. They claimed that the truck was ready to go. I was not happy. I called my lawyer and explained my situation. With his advice and how to handle this issue, I returned to this shop. They admitted to wrong doing and refunded my money. And to top it off, the cost to fix my transmission was a 60 dollar part. Dont waste your time and money.

Just picked my explorer up from them and all I can say is great experience all round. They came to my house to tow it back to their shop. They called to let me know what was going on, what had to be fixed, and the price. It was ready for pick-up when they said it would be. So hats off to John and the rest of the crew. Owner and manager quoted a price of @$2500 for rebuilding a transmission; he stated it could be as low as $2200 but not more than $3000. However, refused to provide written quote. Today they called with a billing price of @$3500. Owner and manager were very selective in their recollection of the talks they had with both me and my wife. They would omit parts of the conversations that reflected poorly on their professionalism and would contradict themselves.I had a quote from a competitor for $3500 for a refurbished transmission with a warranty. It makes no sense to transfer a vehicle from one location to another for the same price for a rebuild.Mr. Green called me back. Since I was cooking lunch for my children, I had the phone on speaker. With my children present, he stated I don t give two f****** s**** about what you think. I asked him to apologize to my children, he refused, questioned my personhood, called me a clown, and informed me he was recording the conversation.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We were referred by Cedar Bluff Auto Care. The guy at Budget told us $400 for seals, $1500 for a rebuild. We took our truck to him, he called nearly a week later and told me the transmission had to be rebuilt, and was I sure I wanted it done, because it would be $1500 to $1700. I told him to call my husband. He called my husband and said it would be $1500 to $1800. A week later (two weeks now), he called and said the work was done and it would be $2000. No written estimate, no call to let us know the price was going up. Then he called back and said no, it would be $2066. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Every time you talk to them the price goes up.

I had my transmission rebuilt there and it lasted about 5 months. It was repaired again this time it lasted about another 5 months. This time of course the warranty has expired so I had to pay. Repaired again and now the torque converter is bad but the said it's not covered. Horrible experience. Never again.Not sure how they have any good reviews.

I'm really surprised by all the good reviews for this company because these people proved themselves to be straight up criminals to me. I was on the interstate and my car started wobbling so I got off at the first exit I could and went to the closest mechanic I could find, Budget Transmissions. They told me there was a problem with the 4 wheel drive of my Subaru and that they had to remove the transmission to get to it. They quoted me a cost of $1800-$2200 to fix. They even told me that it was too dangerous to drive my car. I found it suspicious that a transmission mechanic would so conveniently have to do something to my transmission, so I had my regular mechanic, Halls Service Center, tow my car there to get a second opinion. When the tow truck arrived and the mechanic at Budget Transmissions who quoted me found out I was leaving to go to HSS he got really angry and started trash talking them to me. That is when I knew he was lying all along because he was was obviously defensive because he was afraid of being caught lying. Fast forward and my car only needed a new axle, around $300 after tax. And, turns out it would have been perfectly safe for me to have driven my car instead of towing, which cost me an extra $75. I waited a whole week after the repair to make sure that really was the problem before posting this review in order to give budget transmission a fair chance. I can fairly say that the new axle has fixed my wobbling issue and I am 100% sure that budget transmissions was trying to take advantage of me. I hope these guys go out of business. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Unscrupulous... Had a diagnostic done before dropping it off knew the problem-Jeremy came back and told me it had pressure issues and my Jeep had a cracked transmission. Asked for a ballpark he gave me $3,000 price tag. A mechanic friend called the shop and asked for pressure numbers-they refused to give him the numbers and basically hung up on him. Picked it up, took it to Marshall's, nothing of the sort was wrong with my vehicle. $535.00 to fix issue. Take your car to Marshall's transmission.Service: Transmission

I read the previous review and was startled at the accusations made by miss Tayler. I am a loyal customer of budget transmissions and have been for a very long time, 15 years to be exact. And I have always had a pleasant experience with budget transmissions, Jerry Green and his staff of hardworking and honest men. Never had a problem with any warranty issues that was warrantied by Budget Transmissions. Miss Tayler, apparently, had an invoice from an other shop with no mileage, our date of repairs. Kinda weird, that she lives in Nashville and has written a review on Ted Russel Ford, Budget Transmissions, and Ted Russel Nissan on various vehicles that she has purchased, all written in the same day. By the way the guy she said she bought the car from, she did not even know his name. If she did why would she say some guy? I will always continue to use Budget Transmissions, they have worked on my vehicle, my kids vehicle and my entire families. An excellent place to have honest transmission work done. Fast and reliable, and they do honor their warranties. Very Highly Recommended!
