PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THIS REVIEW INTO ACCOUNT. I would not recommend this company at all. My car spent over four weeks at this place getting a new transmission put in which was quoted a much lower price. The cost to repair quickly almost doubled for different things that needed to be fixed. I agree to get those items fixed because I realized that it was an older car and I just wanted it to run the right way When I picked it up all the lights on the dashboard were still on and it was acting funny. it broke down on me on the way home. I took it back to look at and they wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee and it just left the shop. My thoughts were that it should ve never been given back to me with lights on the dashboard and not acting right. At this point, I have invested so much into this vehicle. I could ve bought a new car. They evaluated the vehicle the second time around and charged me another almost $700. It broke down on me again after I had it for a day I had the car towed to a different mechanic, and he relayed that everything that they installed was incorrect. The transmission was installed incorrectly, they overlook the flywheel that needed to be reviewed and changed out. They had bolts and places where it did not need to be. They had missing pieces in the rebuild of a transmission among several other things that they did, but I m no mechanic. But I can t tell you that the shop does not know what they re doing and will charge you an insane amount of money for half a**work. Now I m paying a different mechanic to fix their screw ups along with several other things that they should have fixed while they had the car apart. The warranty they give you are not worth anything other than the paper they printed on. The owner was very nice and the very beginning but after he worked on this car twice and I was questioning the charges, he became very irritated. I spent over $7000 with this company to have shoddy work.

These folks care about people and provide a quality of service that goes beyond the car. The word integrity and compassion come up, when I think about my experiences (over the years) taking multiple cars there. Thank you Alert Transmission!

Low integrity establishment with bad leadership. Based on dealings with the company, I would not recommend this place to even the worst enemy. Stay away people.Despite any attempts to refute my review, I can assure you that I have had dealings with the owner of this shop, and he lacks self control and decency.

These fellas really were gunning to do me wrong. I brought them an axel (already removed from the truck with the hubs disassembled and steering knuckles removed) which I wanted freshened up: ball joints, u-joints, and carrier bearings/seals. He called me after they started to tell me it needed a ring and pinion gear, which I was dubious about considering it was a front axel which probably only had been locked in like 3 times. I told them I wanted to see what they were talking about before they replaced it, and when I got there I couldn t identify any wear whatsoever on the gear mating surfaces. The owner and his mechanic scratched their heads and said they must have been confused they should have been my cue to take my stuff and run but I didn t better even the guys kid asked if I d tune into their internet church thing while I was standing there. It ended up costing like 3 grand when I told them to call me if it was going to go over $1200. He said I d given him the wrong phone number and email which is why I didn t hear anything. Wondering how he called me to sell me a gear set then not to mention the right knuckle was cracked from pushing the ball joint in and they assembled the thing together that way. That ended up being a nightmare to replace again. Couldn t even reuse the new ball joints they d pushed in. the massive cost set my project back quite a bit, and by the time I had the truck back together a year had passed. I kindly asked if they d extend their one year warranty for me because I hadn t even been able to put it back in the truck until last month, he kindly said no one in their right mind would do that. Maybe yes maybe no, I ve had quality mechanics do more for me than that. I went to these guys because they are only .5 miles from my house, and figured i could keep my business in the neighborhood. My advice is to stay away from here, talk to the fellas at Moore 4 less or at precision tune. Or just do what I should ve done and do it yourself. Maybe my house will get burned for this review or maybe my dog will get poisoned let s hope not.

Very polite people but I won't be coming back. Originally quoted me something near $3900 for a repair, turned out having to spend $6000. Chalk it up to bad luck maybe, but the day I got my truck back, it broke down. None of the 6 or 7 "warranties" covered the cost to finish repairs, they wanted to charge me an extra $1000 and wouldn't cover my tow bill. Don't be fooled by their Jesus fish lmao. They don't seem to have as much integrity as they claim.Service: Engine repair

These guys know what they're doing and, unlike many auto repair people, you can TRUST that they are honest and not gonna run up yor bill by lying about needed work. They can fix ANY automotive repair needs - not just transmissions. These are my NEW auto repair people. They FIXED a $700 mistake made by BAO Automotive because Bao didn't know what they were doing.

Personally I would never have them work on another thing of mine.. call around there's a lot of other shops in town..I've had them work on two different vehicles over the past 6 years. I took my Jeep in there to get the transfer case rebuilt. they forgot to connect the speedo so it triggered the check engine light okay no big deal I'll bring it back. I took it back because the check engine light was on and the speedo wasn't working they ran codes the codes and demanded me pay for running the codes when they forgot to connect it which triggered the code. Got into an argument with the owner and he said well you sign the paperwork so you have to pay it... But luckily one of the mechanics there I think Scott not the owner or his son.. fronted the bill for that because he knew that was messed up what the owner was trying to pull.....I'm sorry but I shouldn't have to pay for your shops incompetence...I would never have went back if it was working like it should and I will never go back again...For several years I thought this was a good shop but I will have to find another one for future needs

Just had some major engine work done by Alert Transmission. My car was leaking about 5 quarts of oil a week. I must say the people there are very informative and definitely know what they are doing.Scott, the man at the front desk, is very kind and easy to talk to too, he has a great personality which I find lacking from several other Auto Shops around town. He kept me updated on car's progress throughout the repair, and was always available if I had to talk to him or ask a question. The mechanics were very nice and had no problem showing what the issues were and explaining what has happened to my engine and what they were going to do.One of my favorite things about them is their pricing, I've gotten a few quotes from other auto shops in town which were suppose to be 'good' in their pricing, yet any other place was well over $1000 dollars for what I paid at Alert Transmission. With Scott's genius, he not only made it a great price for me, he also got me lifetime warranties on all the parts he could. It's amazing how great the service is and how affordable they made it. I've been to them in past and I plan to stay with them long into the future. I highly recommend their work and not only will I stand by it, they do too. They probably have one the best guarantee around town and some the best people working their. My car is now running better than when I bought it and thanks to them it will be running for another few decades.

When my car began having transmission problems (beware the loss of your reverse!) Alert fixed my car.Scott was awesome with explaining what the problems were and his prices are reasonable. He doesn't cut corners, but repairs only what needs fixing. My car is purring like a kitten!

Didn't keep here long enough to tear down. They said ya its transmission but when it was actually worked on, it wasn't. It was a $240 part that it needed. Far cry from thousands. So I can't rate them fairly since they didn't get a chance to really check it out. They were nice people and professional to speak with. Can't give 5 stars or 1 star. I paid $66 to get the codes pulled and that was it. But I will say they were cheaper if it was a transmission than service street would of been.

Scott is great and really cares about identifying and fixing whatever the problem is. My brother and I both got fair prices (better than fair considering the amount of work Scott and his mechanics went through with our cars). If you're considering bringing you car here, definitely do it! Can't recommend them enough!

Scott and his team did an OUTSTANDING job on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. He replaced the Flywheel, Torque Converter, and serviced our transmission. I really liked the fact that we got warranties on the parts installed as well as the labor. I would highly recommend Alert Transmission to everyone that needs transmission repair.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I broke down in Knoxville on my trip back from Kentucky. I called about 7 or 8 garages and no one would help. When I called Alert Transmission that all changed. I got probably the best service I have ever gotten at an auto repair shop. They got me in and installed a new fuel pump in a very timely manner. If I ever brake down again I hope its in Knoxville. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Thanks guys.

I would like to say that Scott with Alert transmission is very honest and his employees do a excellent job. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of service to their vehicle. My transmission had failed so I took my vehicle in on recommendation from someone. They took my transmission out and diagnosed everything for me and Scott even went as far as staying after close one day all mind you as he was grieving the loss of his mother to bring me in and show me exactly what was wrong as well as some other problems I had with my vehicle that were potential hazards to the safety of my family. Scott laid everything out to me as far as what I needed to go ahead and do while they had it in to keep from having to pay more labor if I brought it back because of a failure down the road. They were very timely and courteous with me and my vehicle. My transmission is working so smoothly and I have no doubt that it will last a long time. Also they ya e you come back two weeks after you pick up your car to raise it up and double check everything and make sure there aren t any leaks or inappropriate happenings. Thank you Scott and all of your hardworking employees for everything and can t wait to have you guys fix my other stuff in the near future

Alert Transmission did several needed repairs on our vehicles. I liked that they warrantied their work, especially since we had to have transmission repairs. Scott is very knowledgeable in auto mechanics. I would consider him an expert. Alert Transmission is a wholesome, family-owned business. I trust them.

I recently took a truck due to ignition problems . they moved many parts that had nothing to do with the problem. without notifying me. they changed some hoses that were already bad for a long time without causing problems. when they sent the bill it was excessively much. I think I paid for a new engine without me knowing. Before moving parts, first call your customers to ask for authorization.

Quality ownership and service.I took my GMC Yukon in to have a leaking rear main seal replaced and for my 4WD to be serviced. The main seal was minor but the 4WD turned out to be a major repair/replacement. They took care of the work quickly, as promised. Although, due to the magnitude of the 4WD replacement, the bill for all of the service was much higher than I was originally anticipating. They went above and beyond to keep the expense from being what would have been considerably higher by swapping parts/components in and out to diagnose the issue and not charging me for a bunch of parts that I didn't need.Overall, they were extremely mindful of properly fixing the problem while also doing everything possible to keep the cost down.Highly recommend. Thank you for your hard work and effort, it is very much appreciated.

I'm so disappointed with this shop. We used them for a few years and had other repairs done in the past and were satisfied with the results. Then this time we felt completely screwed over. I took my car in a week ago when the air quit blowing cold plus put out a terrible smell. I told them when I took it in that according to my online research it may be the evaporator needing replaced. Scott called me and said they found no leaks but that some motors that blow the air on one side needed replaced and they'd charge the freon full. It made no sense to me because air was blowing fine, it just wasn't cold, but I trusted him. He never gave me a cost up front so when I arrived I was shocked that we had to pay $1000!!!! Not to mention the air was cold but not as cold as it used to be plus it still smelled. Over the next week it slowly got warmer until it was no longer running cold again. I took it back and oh surprise, it NOW needs an evaporator and will cost us another $1300!!! Scott talked me in circles, just as he did with the original repair, and was even sarcastic with one comment. He offered no apology, no acknowledgement that they made a mistake, no refund, no credit toward the new repair or anything else. He seemed to just want to wash his hands of us. He offered to put leak stop in it and that was it. I feel completely ripped off. The right thing would have been to credit me the labor since you repaired the wrong thing and to acknowledge the mistake and apologize. I would have gladly stayed with them if they had. They've lost our business.

The worst mechanic I've ever had to do work with.I feel bad for anyone who goes to this shop without knowing their reputation in Knoxville. Any bad stereotype you've heard about untrustworthy and money hungry mechanics can be summed up by the conman that runs the place.By the looks of how they reply to negative reviews, Scott can't take negative criticism. I guess that's because he sees it as people taking away his only skill: scamming people out of their money who don't know any better. If I got the bad reviews he gets, I'd use them as ways to improve my business, instead of wasting all my time getting defensive and childishly angry in the replies. If you go to this mechanic, it will be nothing but a source of stress, and I hope this review keeps you away from this place.

T j eyes were very nice. I told them I only wanted transmission fluid added. I didn't need it inspected or repaired . i asked how much it would cost to add about 5 qts of fluid. They scoffed and finally quoted me $85 for 5 qts of fluid bedded. I explained when i dropped it off i only wanted fluid added. So when I go to pick it up I'm told they repaired it adding new plug washer etc oh and the 5 qts of 5 qts of fluid I stated and it was close to 150 not the 85 I was quoted thank God i had the money and now it's tripled how fast it leaks so they didn't repair it and charged me for something I apparently didn't needService: Transmission

DO NOT TRUST THEM!!If i could give negative stars i would. They didnt accommodate for my lift and for almost a year kept having to take it back. Charges new prices for used parts, recharged for labor, etc. They shot my car, put a gun in my waist, then called the police. Then sent their mechanics to continuously drive by my house to intimidate me until i stood in my yard with my rifle and glock. They were charged and had to fix my car. They have not reimbursed me anything.

I am a college student and I had a few problems with my Toyoda Camry. My car had issues starting and they fixed it. It was the alternator being old so they replaced it for me at an affordable price.I also had an accident later on, was not serious but the front right side was crushed. They pulled it back to looking "almost" as if it did before the accident, and fixed up the parts that were damaged inside. They also helped me get new parts and pointed me to get a new paint job to make it look like it was never damaged. Was not that bad of a price for me working at a grocery store!
