Use to think the world of Mike, unfortunately he doesnt stand behind much of anything anymore. After being put off with the "2 weeks" give me a call for 3 months, my daughters dropped off the dodge cummins for the front end to be looked at which is Mike's quote specialty per his words. He took the cover off inspected it and told me everything looked good, and did some adjustments and said quote "it still isnt right". Instead of looking further he said he needed the rack for another vehicle. I came back a week later and he said just take it for 2 weeks and give me a call and I will take it back to dive more deep into it.Here is where it turns worse.Driving it 10 miles to my office the front differential started smoking and pouring the gear lube on the entire underside of the truck. I immediately called Mike who kept telling me "all I did was take the cover off, and adjust blah blah blah". Out of respect I asked Mike to do the right thing and when he looks at it again if he was in the wrong "make it right". He said ok.Two weeks later (today), I got a text saying he didnt have room for it. I called him and asked him to tell me what he "can" do not what he cannot do. He said that he "might not want" to look at it, which means he wasnt up front enough to tell me that before he did whatever he did to the truck. After asking further he said "I dont want to look at the truck, I am not obligated to look at the truck".To me doing the right thing is simply owning and standing behind what you do.What does he have to worry about if he didnt mess anything up??Between my family combined we have spent over $30,000 with Mike over the years, and even if I hadnt spent a dollar, doing the right thing shouldnt be that tough to do.I was always willing to wait for quality and Mike, unfortunately he must feel he has enough business at this point to dictate when and when not to do the right thing.Just know when times are good they will be good, just hope nothing goes wrong.PS. Oh did I mention that he left "all" the windows down and it rained and rained and when I picked it up the seat all had mold on them. He said of course "I didnt roll them down".PSS. Oh did I mention that he said that EXACT same thing to my brother on his vehicle about windows and mold.Odd wouldnt u say?Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension replacement

I took a 81 Camaro to him a while back to build a 454 Big block for me. It took him 4 months to build it. When I got the car back the car wouldn't even fall out of the tree. I took the car straight to another mechanic in Maryville that only builds Big blocks. the other mechanic told me he sold me a cracked block that was welded up and he put a around ported intake on square Port heads that's the reason the thing wouldn't even hardly run. I would really advise about watching him do your job. If he starts taking too long he's taking your money and fixing other people's cars with it. When he sees that you're getting over what he's doing to you then he will finally fix your vehicle maybe. I just want his customers to realize if he keeps taking your money and your car is not being fixed be aware.

Mike is a great guy, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and a true gear head... Got to meet him and another one of his motor head buddies last weekend. I would highly recommend Acuff to anyone needing a good mechanic.Bill Pollard
