I don't normally do reviews but I wanted share my experience with this shop and Daniel. They did a great job replacing my transmission and reaching out to ask me about a couple of issues they notice when removing my transmission. They took care of these items during the process without charging me additional labor just the cost of the parts. They also turned this around in a few days. Fantastic job guys - Thanks.

When I called these folks I was expecting to be took advantage of. NOT these folks!!Amazing customer service and care went into fixing my issue and the services are on point. I will always call upon AAMCO for any future problems my 07 Titan may have.I was walked through the process and shown exactly what was wrong and they also pointed out some line issues involving clamps. My bill was never so low.You folks over here at the Kingston Pike location are above and beyond the best Never second guess about taking your vehicles here. They treat you like family. Thanks guys! Have a great weekend!! Kraken mom

In November, I brought my 2013 Ford Explorer in for vibrating and shaking that was making it impossible to drive because they had done transmission work on it back in May. They called and told me the transmission was fine, it was the motor mount that was causing the problem but ford was out of stock on the part so they asked if they could use an aftermarket part that was the same thing and same price. I said yes. Turns out, IT WAS THE WRONG PART! They had to grind and shape the mount to fit my car (didn t tell me this at first) and they did a horrible job. When I picked it up (after hours because I trusted them) I drove it for 10 miles and the noise and vibrations were so so so much worse than when I brought it in!! I brought it back and received a call the next morning from Daniel saying that he had the mechanic go back in and apparently the mechanic didn t tell him that the part had to be ground down to fit and that he did a little more grinding but can t go more and it s as good as it s going to get I ve spent too much on labor already and refused to do anything. I spent $284.87 for a more broken car than I went in with. I made an appointment with Ford immediately (couldn t get in for a month and a half then got pushed back for snow) meanwhile, my car is falling apart and I barely drove it except when I absolutely had to. I finally got in with Ford and the SAME MOTOR MOUNT IS BROKEN AGAIN! And it caused the torque/roll restricter to snap from all the movement. I spent ANOTHER $1030 on something that should ve been fixed 4 months ago but was actually put back in more broken then it was when I dropped it off. Now I want my money back. I have pictures and video of this mount that was assured to be lasting for years just like the original part. It didn t even last a day. I want a refund. I ve spent now over $1300 for a $130 part to be able to drive my car like it was able to before I left it with their mechanics.

I dropped off my vehicle on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday afternoon I received a phone call with a detailed quote. I accepted it and got my car back on the next Tuesday. It drives great again. Thanks Daniel and crew!

This place is awesome if I could give it 10 stars I would!!! I brought my truck to another shop they told me I need a new transmission quoted me $4100 so I brought it here for a 2nd opinion. Fact was the other shop was trying to scam me. Not only did I NOT need a new transmission. But it was a wiring problem! So the other shop wanted to put in a new transmission but would have charged me for the wiring issue on top of that!! These guys took great care of me gave me a great price and were so friendly!! I will definitely come to them if I have any issues with my truck again!!!!

don t waste your time or hard earned money on this place. I m not a give review kind of person infact this is my first one ever. spent almost 5k for 6 month problem free (currently still under mileage warranty not sure about month worrent tho) had transmission re built in July 2023 December 2023 I brought it in for concern of clunking downshift randomly and slight pulsing of rpm. They drove it for hours said couldn t feel anything. maybe it was just in my head so continued driving it. Few weeks go by pulsing got worse and a squeal from torque converter was starting to get loud, brought it back, was told starter squal (funny it made the same sound when I first brought it to them, a rebuild and new converter it went away) said they could change starter for outrages price. Still polite and 2nd guessing my own opinion because they are supposed to be professionals . few weeks of driving rpm pulsing begins to get even worse. I record videos consult with another mechanic, he says torque converter is locking and unlocking. Bring it back and again another excuse not to touch it and blame DOD and charge me $250 to change ECU. They said fix. The next day I pick it up with no change at all. Had it hooked up to find all kinds of TCM perimeters changed including line pressure and stuff I don t think has to do with (DOD) but maybe it does I don t know but brought it back even more money in to this warranty transmission rode with a tech showed him what it does and when it will do it and his response was ( that may be a torque converter issue) left it with them again 4th time to have to find a ride there and back very inconvenient with my schedule this time i was told all bank 2 misfire, all cylinders recommended plug change. I changed all plugs and hooked up to multiple scanners, cheap one to an expensive snap on and funny no current misfire no stored inputs of misfire watched live data no misfire while driving like I was told. I m currently 1,000 miles under warranty mile wise and don t even want to bring it back to these idiots and I m stuck 5k into a transmission that pulses when slight throttle to just maintain a speed. I hate driving it every day. It s unbearable to drive how bad it has gotten and now shifting feels funny. Im over trying to get rides to and from for drop off and pick up, I work night shift and they are closed my days off, just for them to make another excuse for the problem. It s doing the same exact thing it was when I bought it and took it to them and they had no problem tearing it apart to find the issue but now it s warranty work so everything they can do to not touch it pathetic. keep a piece of mind and take yours somewhere else.

Very happy with the service I received from Daniel and the staff at AAMCO. I dropped off my much loved 2007 Ford F-150 (which I have babied for 13 years) for a transmission rebuild. Dropped off the truck last week, and got it back 7 days later. The trans was done in a couple days, but it also needed a tune-up which added a couple days to the turn around. Daniel was very straight forward with what my truck needed, and how much it was going to cost. There was a misfire issue in addition to the transmission, and Daniel was kind enough to drive it to, and pick it up from the exhaust shop in order to rule out a bad cat. The misfire issue ended up being resolved with a tune up. Good (& timely) communication, friendly and prompt service, and reasonable pricing. Thanks so much for fixing my truck!

Sent my granddaughter 2012 jeep to them for what we thought would be a 3-4 thousand dollar transmission fix. The professionals at this dealership diagnosed the problem and fixed her jeep for $350.00. Not many shops out there that would just fix what was needed and not pad the bill knowing we expected to pay a lot. Recommend this shop to all with car problems. Professional and Honest . Thanks Daniel for all the help.

This is a great place to take your vehicle if you ve got transmission issues. Most other places around town have weeks if not months delays to look at your transmission issue. These guys will get you in and out in a few days. Good service overall.

Took my truck there to get it looked at Friday 12/8, for oil burn(Second opinion), check vibration(Second opinion), and to get my tie rods and an alignment done.I expected to get someone with a good amount of experience, and had probably worked on old trucks such as mine when they were new. I also expected a transmission shop to be able to tell that the oil burn probably isn't just from old age, when I say that it burns more in a different gear. They told me it was $145 for the whole diag when I dropped it off, they called me back on 12/13 after test driving it, and then told me it would be $145 per clock hour of diag, for each thing.I ended up just taking my truck back, because they didn't even have an alignment rack, lied about diag cost (I even questioned it when I took it in, but she still said it was covering everything), and they just said that it was old for the oil burn and there was nothing they could do, it's a 2004, It's as old as me. I would have liked to have an option for a compression test, or a PCV test, but I didn't get either option on the phone call, even for the past cylinder 3 misfire code that I told them about. They also said that they need diag to look at the tie rod end and see that the boot was busted, and to look at the belt to see that it was worn and cracking.I also have a dashcam, and it was running when they were test driving it. I had a full tank of gas when I took the truck in, and wondered where the other half of it went when I got it back, (My fuel gauge is wack and only reads about half of my tank when it says full, but I can live with it, so I didn't ask for that). The technician turned my truck on at 9:43 AM, and let it sit idle... UNTIL 11 AM, an hour and 15 minutes, really man?!He then took it in front of their rear door, popped the hood, and grabbed a long screwdriver to listen to the pulleys and the engine, almost getting the screwdriver caught on the radiator fan/fan clutch at one point, which was fun to watch as the owner I assure you. Then he put his long boy back and took it for a test drive, of course finding out why I wanted my tie rods and an alignment done. Meanwhile rolling through stop signs (and ignoring the speed limit) in the neighborhood near the shop, nice man.A "great" company all things considered. If you need your gas wasted, Idle hours on your engine, or to have your time wasted, be sure to check them out!

Wonderful staff. Honest up front pricing. They took great care of my old truck. They upgraded my transmission I thought there was an issue, but they explained what it was in detail, why it was done, and the benefits of doing so. During test drive the tech noticed the shift points could be optimized further and did so under their amazing warranty. Reccomend AAMCO to my father when his trans cooler line failed. They did the repair6and he was out the next day for less than $300. They. will have my business for life.Service: Transmission

I can't say enough how great they are! My car broke down 7 1/2 hours from home while my kids were on vacation. They made it so easy for me to get it repaired and even rushed it through so the kids pick it up one the way back from their vacation. All that great pricing too!Service: Steering & suspension repairService: Steering & suspension repair

My company had me take my work van to the dealership to have the transmission looked at, it was done, it wasn't going to get me home. They gave me a price of $6,000. I left there when I remembered AAMCO just down the road, they did it for $4,000. And I dropped it off on a Friday, picked it up on Tuesday morning. Since then we've taken another van there for the same transmission. I would just skip the other guys, don't waste your time, take it straight to AAMCO. They're really nice too, they don't give you that uneasy feeling you get when you're about to spend $4,000. I feel they were straight up, honest and very informative.

I recently had the tranmission on my company's 2018 Ford Escape's rebuilt by AAMCO, and I am highly satisfied with the entire experience. AAMCO demonstrated excellent communication, had competitive pricing, and delivered great workmanship.Throughout the process, AAMCO maintained clear and transparent communication, keeping me informed and addressing any questions or concerns I had. They were professional and friendly, making me feel valued as a customer. One of the standout aspects was their pricing. AAMCO's quote was significantly more affordable than what I was quoted at the Ford dealer. This affordability was important to me, without compromising on the quality of the work. The transmission rebuild performed by AAMCO resulted in my Ford Escape feeling as good as new. I am confident in the quality of their work.I highly recommend AAMCO for anyone seeking transmission services. Their dedication to customer satisfaction, competitive pricing, and quality workmanship make them a reliable choice.Thank you, AAMCO, for the great service provided for my 2018 Ford Escape's transmission rebuild. I appreciate your professionalism and expertise, and I will certainly return for future automotive needs.Service: Transmission

Had an issue with a transmission leak on a new to me used car I recently purchased. Concerned that it would be an expensive transmission repair, I wanted an honest and skilled shop. Enter AAMCO Kingston Pike (Knoxville TN) to my dilemma. In my experience, I found them to be courteous, highly skilled, & professional. They diagnosed and repaired my issue with the transmission leak. Not only did they serve this customer well in this my first experience with this shop, they earned my respect to return again when needed and I recommend them. I learned they offer other mechanic services besides the transmission services. Their service department and their front office will serve you well.Services: Transmission, Engine repair

This is an unsolicited review; We took our suburban in on 8/26 and it was ready on 8/30. First of all, excellent time frame. Secondly, it drives was better than when we first bought it and I put this thing through hell. We pull tractors and moderately heavy trailers as well as family trips through the mountain and it was getting tired. After we picked it up we can barely feel it shifting gears, it picks up speed without hesitation, it has no problem stopping and going on steep hills. It s a flawless job on the transmission, will definitely point everyone to AAMCO from now on.Service: Transmission

Daniel and his team are top notch professionals. My transmission went out on my Honda Accord while I was here from out of town. My car needed a complete rebuild, but Daniel was able to get me back on the road very quickly. He kept me in the loop about everything that was going on throughout the whole process and the pricing was reasonable. Not only that, but his team notified me of a weakened engine mount that needed to be replaced. I had to get the part myself, however they offered to replace it for me free of charge. Excellent customer service and a great experience overall. Highly recommend this place. Thanks!

They are amazing. Had to leave my car overnight due to my schedule and they got to it first thing in the morning. They notified me I was still within warranty and advised I see the Nissan dealership for the repairs rather than voiding my warranty I didn't know about and doing the repairs themselves for the money. Would definitely recommend giving them a call when you have car issues and need someone you can trust.Service: Transmission

Coming through the mountains on a 95 degree day and feeling the transmission hard shifting at times, both uphill and downhill, made for a very unsettling trip. When we settled in to our family's place, I called AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN to see if they would take a look at it. Being a Friday, I thought there was very little chance of an appointment on that day. When I explained my situation to Christy, the Office Manager, she checked with the owner and they got me right in. Everything checked out normal and they did not charge me for the appointment. What a relief! Being in such a vulnerable position and not taken advantage of spoke volumes about the integrity and true customer care that this business is all about! If I lived in the area, they would have ALL of my repair work. You can be sure they will take good care of you as well. I recommend this business to everyone that is considering them, Thank you Christy and the whole team at AAMCO on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN!Service: Transmission

I can't recommend this place enough! If i could give more stars I would!! They were upfront, honest, and their prices were fair. As a woman I experience the stereotypical 'nickle and diming' at most car repair shops, but not here! My 2012 Chevy Traverse needed a rebuilt transmission. I called AAMCO July 19th and was able to have it towed in the following week July 25th. They called me a few days later telling me my car was ready for pickup. They got the job done fast and my car drives better than it did the day I drove it off the dealership lot! They also provided me with a 18mo/ 18,000mi warranty which is also good at other AAMCO'S. They also had the option that I could pick my car up after hours which is great for people who work. The day I picked it up my AC started acting up so I called Daniel and Christy and they had me bring it in the next day. They were able to fix the part that day and had me out of there in about 2hrs. I had to return later the same day because Chevy's are weird and my AC went out again. Now, my AC works better than it ever has! Anyways, Christy was so kind and hilarious to talk to and Daniel was a fantastic tech who explained everything in detail to me and made sure to call me before fixing anything to make sure I wanted it done. He was extremely kind. I 1,000% recommend this place to anybody needing work done. They earned customers for life with my husband and I! Christy and Daniel, thank you again for making the process easy!Services: Transmission, Air conditioning

Outstanding service here! I'm a 22 year old female college student and I have had a lot difficulty with mechanics ripping me off in the past but once I got in touch with Aamco on Kingston pike and spoke with Danielle Gifford my mind was finally put at ease. Danielle is extremely knowledgeable and was very informative in sharing and explaining all the issues with my vehicle and there were a lot. Not only was her diagnosis accurate but her and her team of technicians did a superb job and worked very efficiently. After my car was inspected they concluded that I needed an entire new braking system and the same was told to me at the Firestone just up the road. However Danielle was able to order the parts and get my car back on the road in less than one business day just before the weekend. They saved me from having to spend more money on renting a car! Also they did a lot more for me for a lot less than Firestone. Daniel, the service manager, even provided and installed new hoses for me at no additional charge. I won't take my car anywhere else! Exceptional service and great management.
