I brought in a car recently that needed a new support bracket for a suspension bar replaced. They weren't able to identify the part number for the bracket to order it after searching online for 5 minutes, but "kindly" offered $400 to weld it in place. I said, "no thanks" obviously and I later found the part online for $15. It requires two standard bolts and can be replaced in less than 10 minutes with a socket wrench. Don't give these rejects your hard earned money. UPDATE: I spoke with a service member directly, since the number provided below in the follow up response isn't for the actual manager, just their store number. They said their hourly rate is $185 as of January 2024 and the national average is $205 for transmission shops. Even if they charged one hour of labor (as is typical for 20 minutes of work at a shop) instead of the 2 hours they quoted me, that's still insanely high. Just support local mechanics and welders who aren't beholden to corporate rates that are too dang high. I know prices of things have gone up like crazy because of the Federal Reserve doubling the money supply, but even in 2024, no one should be paying more than $100 to spot weld a simple bracket.

Jonathan is the man! He was very transparent and personable the entire time, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find a solution to my problem, rather than making money off of me. While the repair route wasn't quite viable for my car's situation, I enjoyed my experience with Jonathan and the team.

I've had my car in there twice for service I always lika couple visits in before I give a review but from the intake to the follow-up of the detailed work list to be done for my approval it was a very seamless process.I wasn't hesitate to refer anyone to this company Mike and his staff do a very detailed and quality job.

I took my vehicle in to have a gear oil leak fixed and a throw out bearing looked at. A week later they called and said the cv axle needs to be replaced along with a new clutch kit and several other repairs needed to get the car road ready. I said go ahead with what's needed to be done. They call back a couple days later and say that it's fixed and ready to be picked up. I pick the car up that day and drive it across the street only to find out that the car is throwing itself out of gear and there is now a new sound coming from the transmission that wasn't originally there I didn't even take the car home I left it there and called them the next day to relay my findings. At this point I'm already $4100 dollars in and the fact I drove it 10 feet and found new issues with the car tells me they didn't even test drive it after the first round of repairs. The mechanic told me he had installed a bolt upside down or something like that and it's good now. I asked about the new noise and they said they would have to take it back apart to investigate farther and it would be another inspection charge. So now long story short they're just gonna put in a whole new transmission at this point. I will be coming in around 11 thousand dollars on total cost and they have had the car goin on a month now. I feel like I have been SEVERLY milked on money and labor costs. This will be my last time ever using this shop after I get my car back.

Communication was definitely an issue. I have a Subaru Outback and I do understand parts take awhile to come through but they had my vehicle for 3 weeks. They told me it would take them two hours from getting the part in to have my vehicle ready. It took them 2 extra days. I showed up to pick it up Monday morning, they still haven t taken it for a test drive so now having to wait another half hour for that to be complete. You would think for $5,300 we could have better customer service.Service: Transmission

When my trucks transmission was going out I honestly didn t know what I was going to do, I ve never trusted mechanics before due to the bad rep they get but I knew a transmission change was too big of a task for myself alone to tackle. Michael helped me feel comfort through the whole process and was very professional with how he produced himself and his team. They did an awesome repair and my trucks never run more better in my life, they would receive a 5 star rating if it wasn t for the fact that I had to wait an extended period of time, but I m definitely a satisfied customerService: Transmission

I took my car there a few months ago and paid $7,000 to get the transmission replaced they were great and the service was quick fast forward a few months and the car starts acting up and was leaking transmission fluid. I checked the warranty and it was still covered so I called and they told me to bring it on in . After the first few days I called and they said they were running tests . Called back the next week and they told me that my car was sending a shutter code and they would have to replace the transmission again, they had ordered the parts and they where waiting for them to be shipped, so I gave them another week and called back and they told me they where still running tests! A few days later I called and the guy said sometimes things accidentally get put off, I ll look into it now and have information for you tomorrow WHAT?! I m an understanding person and I avoid conflict at all costs so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called them back the next day. The guy said oh it s good to go, you can come get your car, we hooked it to the computer and the code is gone, I asked them if they fixed the leak and he said yes. I got different story s every time I called. So I show up to get the car and asked for the paperwork and the guy at the desk said there isn t any we couldn t find anything wrong with it, we drove it and nothing happened. I said so you didn t hook it up to the computer or fix the leak? He said no we didn t do anything to it, if the issue gets worse bring it back, oh and we almost ran it out of gas . I got in my car and it was literally blinking 0 miles to E!!! I had to pray that it made it to the gas station! I m so upset with this company because when I paid cash to have the car fixed they got it done very fast and was very friendly, but when I needed it fixed under warranty AFTER paying 7k the first time, it sat in their shop for almost a month and all they did was give me the run around and almost leave me stranded and out of gas. I would not recommend this place. At all.

Took the car in for a clutch, that was the only thing wrong with it somehow they managed to mess up the steering. They paid for an alignment and something else and now it's at the actual dealership. They said it was a freak accident. It wasn't their fault but if they believed that they wouldn't have it towed to the dealership and they woud not have paid for an alignment but they're refusing to pay the dealership for fixing it and making it right even though they got their money and got faith for the clutch I would never recommend them. My son sent me a message and said they are going to pay the dealership now to fix his vehicle. He took his own parts to Amoco and the work was quite expensive. When they did the alignment on it and Amoco did pay for it. The guy said whoever worked on it messed up his steering. I'm just thankful is that they decided to make it right because he does work really hard. I talked to several mechanic and they said not the time you had to take out the steering column to put a clutch in and that could definitely cause problems but thumbs up for making it right.

Wish I could give better rating as Michael was very nice and informative. We were told repair would be 2 days or less. Dropped it off on Monday and wasn't finished until 5 pm on Friday, they knew we needed the car no later than Friday at 9 am. Had to rent a car on Friday, another $120. When car was finally finished there was no apology, no explanation and Nathan was completely rude to my daughter on several occasions. Unfortunately won't go back. One week later car is doing exactly what we brought it in for so not fixed, over 3k in workService: Transmission

I took my car for repair at this shop as they were highly recommended from my boss. I am so glad I did. These guys were great. They were very professional and efficient. I felt like they listened to my concerns fully. They addressed every issue I was experiencing with my car. They called to explain the extent of the repair, prior to starting the work. Overall it was a great experience. I will return to this business with any car repair needs. I will also highly recommend them to all of my friends. If you want your transmission fixed right go see these guys! I took my car into another shop and got the total run around. I took it to Mike and Nathan, they were awesome at AAMCO! My first time dealing with this shop. I choose to visit them thanks to the positive reviews they have. They tried to diagnose the issue as I explained it but the issue was no where to be found on the day of my appointment. I appreciate them being honest and telling me to come back when I experience the issue again. Versus making up stuff at my expense like a lot of places have done. The staff was very friendly and pleasant to deal with.

I had some issues going on with my brakes and needed some general maintenance performed (oil change, tire rotation, etc.). Jeff got me in as quick as he could. I took the vehicle in early in the morning, Jeff called me early afternoon to let me know what the problems were and called the next day to let me know my car was ready for pickup. On top of providing great service, I found the prices to be very reasonable. And Mike, the owner, is a really nice guy that you'll enjoy doing business with. I took my son s car in after I was referred by my mechanic because he was concerned with the transmission. I spoke with Jeff on the phone who informed me to go ahead and bring it in. I was very surprised since a lot of other places were completely booked but very happy they could get me in so quickly. I cannot say enough great things about Jeff and his staff, they are amazing! They quickly diagnosed the problem and told me straight up the car was not worth fixing and I should get something else. They even sent me with paperwork stating what was wrong and did not charge me for anything. I m very happy with them as they didn t want to waste my money on something that was not worth fixing and I truly appreciate their honesty and knowledge about everything. I honestly hope I never have any other transmission issues but if I do I know where I will be bringing my vehicles and also referring my family and friends. Going to repeat the experience of many here. I overheated my f250 transmission about 40 miles away from Knoxville in Townsend. I called everywhere and as soon as other shops heard f250, it was 2 or 3 weeks out before they would look at truck. One guy closer I took it too, wanted me to commit to a high dollar (in cash) estimate before he could figure it out but that shop couldn t even give a timeframe.I then had my truck towed to this shop on a Monday night and they opened the transmission up Tuesday morning. Jeff kept me informed of the process and was able to get my truck back by Friday. I felt they did a good job. Pricing for what they needed to do was reasonable and Jeff never showed me any frustration while I was panic calling during the week to really make sure it would be ready. They respected that I was in a bind and I needed it back quickly. It s so easy for shops with full bays to turn down work these days and I m thankful that Jeff and the mechanics at this shop did not do that. They made my problem theirs and they solved it.As I write this, the truck has hauled the camper out of the mountains and then drove 400+ miles without the slightest issue so they clearly did good work.

I ve taken my car in twice to this shop and had a great experience on both occasions. The first was for new brakes and an oil change. They use great quality products for repairs. I also had two engine oil leaks, they fixed those as well. Great business to take your vehicle to. We've been using these guys for a few years. They are very honest on what needs to be done emergent and what can wait if necessary. To Michael and the rest of the staff at Knuckle Busters Auto, AAMCO, I can't thank you enough for the excellent service and care for my vehicle. My daughter is visiting in Valley Forge and her car broke down. Michael was able to get it towed and serviced over a holiday weekend! As a parent of a teenage daughter, I was very concerned with her being stranded down there while I was up in Chicago. I can't tell you enough how Michael and the staff gave me peace of mind knowing that her car was being taken care. They were in constant communication with me and sent photos, texts, and called me. Everyone at this business is friendly and helpful. I believe they are honest and fair. They listen well to special concerns. For instance, I was trying to get out of town by a certain time and they worked hard to help that happen. I explained I needed my low-to-the-ground car to pick up my old, old dog instead of the high vehicle I had borrowed. They listened and were concerned to try to rush things along to help me out. They worked me in even tho they had a very busy day on their hands. Their friendliness and even sense of humor make this an enjoyable experience and business relationship.
