This was probably the best experience I have ever had at an automotive place. They were so accommodating and had my car repairs done very timely. Everyone I spoke with there was so friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend Murphys for auto repairs. A genuinely pleasant experience as car repairs go.

Had my car for two weeks Big mistake, AAA should not use these folks! Tried to charge me THREE hours to replace a fuel filter. That is a 20 minute job folks!To cap it off, they installed it poorly and had to PUSH it in to express oil change to fix the Murphy shoddy work. The fuel line attached to said filter came loose and leaked over 5 gallons of gas. Car could have caught on fire! See photos of gas and us having toPUSH it in to get it fixed.For record, I did NOT even approve changing filter. Kevin and his staff are getting a BBB complaint filed from all of this terrible experience. Do not trust them, they are dishonest and do poor work!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Wow, what angels. We re on a cross country trip and our van started having troubles. They took us right away and fixed it fast. Super kind folks, diagnosed and fixed it quickly, and it was a fair price. Had us on the road in no time. Not to mention it s a pleasant shop to wait. We re extremely grateful for Murphy s!

Not happy with their service and won't be going back. Brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic, was told they would call me when it was finished. Never heard anything for several hours. Called a couple hours before closing to check in and they said they would call back soon, still didnt hear from them. Finally went in to get my vehicle and the guy who worked on it said he would call me back with a cost for the repairs. Never heard from him. Waste of a day! If you can't do the repairs and don't want to do it, that's fine just say so. Don't tell your customer you're gonna do something and then not follow through.

I brought my vehicle in for a leaking axle seal. They fixed the seal and sent me on my way. Later I began noticing a loud grinding noise coming from my differential. It only happened after I had been driving for 20+ miles. I reviewed the receipt closer and realized they added incorrect gear oil. My truck was still supposedly under warrenty for the work they had done, so I brought it back in to get the problem corrected.When I brought the issue on the receipt to their attention they insisted that the it was merely a typo and all the work that they did was strictly by the book. I had the owners manual with me and showed them the type of oil that was necessary and also commented on the friction modifer additive that the manufacturer states must be added. They told me that they don't believe in additives and the owners manual was incorrect.They suggested that I let them take it in and have a look so they could try to identify the issue. After 2 hours of sitting around they stated that they never heard any noise from the differential, but came back with a list of other issues, that were more likely causing the noise, the list included things such as a burnt out headlight.The noise is extremely apparent, but they stated that they couldn't even hear it with a stethoscope. They were happy to lie to my face and proceeded to charge me for the misdiagnosis.I don't mind taking my vehicle in to a reputable mechanic, but these guys aren't that.Do not trust this shop to perform work on your vehicle. They will perform shoddy work and not stand behind it, regardless of the warranty they supposedly provide.

Had a great experience with Murphy's. Had a flat tire on my trailer, and it couldn't have happened at a worse time - moving day when a trailer is a necessity. Took the wheel to Murphy's, and they took care of it in less than 30 minutes. Friendly, helpful, and courteous. You got my business!

Found the issue with my car and gave me an estimate within the day! Had to order the part which took over a week to come in but worked like a charm when I picked it up! This is the same issue that took two visits to the dealership and neither time did they find the issue or fix it!

The person at the desk is great. Otherwise, no. They took my car 5 months ago for an electrical issue. I had to return it for the same issue 4 times. This last time (same issue) they found a separate issue and fixed it without asking, which cost me over 600, and didn't even LOOK at the electrical issue. Told me the CV joint might be causing it. And to top it off, I was told that the week and a half they had it is why it WOULDN'T START. That the battery just...went dead that fast.Services: Auto body & trim repair, Electrical repair

terrible! worthless! waste of time and money! had my car for about 3 months! ordered multiple parts for my car at least three that i know of! didn t fix a thing on it! and still charged us 1,800 and let us believe the whole time under warranty which come to find out KEVIN never spoke to the warranty company didn t keep us updated on MY vehicle didn t ask any permission and now iout 1,800 and a job and a useless car sitting in the driveway! don t recommend BBB NEEDS TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!Services: Transmission, Electrical repair

They're nice folks that took good care of me and gave me a solid and fair price for their quality work. My only complaint is that they told me it would be ready Friday and it took them until Tuesday afternoon. I expected it though since I knew my car was going to have plenty of unexpected problems. I was traveling through the area for business and out on the freeway when the oil pressure light came on. I was hours away from home and afraid my car was in serious trouble. I looked up the nearest auto shop and as luck would have it sent me to Murphy s Automotive. When I walked through the doors, I knew I was in the right place. What an awesome slice of good old America. They were busy but super responsive. They understood I was in a hurry to get back on the road and hoped to not break the bank getting my car fixed. They set my mind at ease and quickly assessed my car. It turned out to be a cheep part that was relatively easy to fix. I was super grateful and back on the road.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Wow is all I can say. I took my 2017 Toyota Highlander there for maitenance. It was giving an EVAP code. I wrote on the paper to leave all old parts. They called and said they would have to replace a sensor and it would cost $200. I think no problem. I go to pick it up 4 days later and they say it is $500. I ask why and they say there was a miss in the engine. I never felt that but I pay up and forget about it. Then the same sensor error comes back on and I take it to them and they tell me they have to order a part that will cost $700. I am a bit annoyed but agree but when I look up the part myself from Toyota as a Genuine OEM part the cost is $230. I tell them I don't want them to do the service and they are clearly mad. Probaby because they can't steal more than they have. I take it to the local Toyota dealership in Kingsport and they do some diagnostic and it turns out a clamp needed to be replaced. $338 total. BEWARE OF THESE THEIFS!!!

The worst mechanic shop I have ever been to! After he charged my son $628 he told my son he couldn t fix he vehicle and we had to had to have it towed to another shop! Pitiful service and didn t deserve any payment at all! Seriously thinking of taking him to small claims court!! Sorry service!!

Pam and Kevin are Amazing!!!A few months ago my 16 yr old daughter needed a new engine because she thought check oil was a suggestion. Kevin went out of his way to find the best most affordable engine for her car. They knew that I had just been diagnosed with cancer and funds were tight. Pam kept us informed through the whole process. Fast forward to last week when my daughter noticed a hesitation at times. We took it back to Murphy s and they went over with a fine tooth comb and discovered it was just a loose battery cable. We had the car back in 2 days and there was no charge. Im new to the area and wasn't sure where i wanted my car to go to be repaired. After reading the reviews and looking at how long they have been in business, I decided to have my 2012 honda accord towed to Murphys on A Friday afternoon due to no clutch. They called me after the weekend and told me that the master slave cylinder was leaking and needed to be repaired. I asked if they could also go ahead and replace the clutch since the car had a 170k mi on it and never been done. I got a call a few minutes later with a price for everything and I excepted. The price was reasonable for for the work that needed to be done. They had it done in a couple of days and got me back on the road.I would highly recommend Murphy's automotive.Service: Transmission

Recently, I was in the area.. We were on a weekend getaway to Tennessee and had a flat tire..These guys were so awesome they didn't have the tire in stock we needed, but they recommended a place that might have a good used tire.. because the tire size would be hard to find in that particular area, and also it had to be ordered. I can't say enough about the politeness, and their service was a life saver. Again, thanks.

My family and I are from out of state. We happened to get in a wreck on the interstate but was able to drive our vehicle to Murphy s. I explained I just needed to know if it was drivable due to the tire rubbing. They never once hesitated to come look and temporarily fix the problem. They also helped me find a place to replace my broken passenger window and wrapped the window so I wouldn t be driving down the interstate with glass blowing around. I can t thank you enough for your empathy and kindness to this momma.

I went in to fix my power steering pump and get the struts done. They didn t fix the power steering problem(when I left it still had the same problem I went in for) and fixed the squeaking problem by putting brake fluid on the belt. they broke a wheel sensor and the ABS and told me that my car is old and has a lot of problems so it s not a surprise that it would randomly break and said that it wasn t there fault and refused to fix it. Even though that my car didn t have these problems when I dropped it off and when I received my car back, I noticed right away that the ABS light was on and told them before I even left the premises that this was not on before I drop my car off. Definitely wouldn t recommend this shop especially if you re a woman trying to get honest work done on your car, They are untrustworthy and scandalous.

I haven't heard abythibg from them at all today. Shecsaid they would call me today. They've had our car for 2 days and haven't let us know what they've found out. Firestone would d nt have took that long to get back to us! Now I wish I'd taken it down there. Brian really needs his car and I need my car. He's had to take mine to work. If I knew they wasn't gonna get back to me, I sure wouldn't have fooled with themThey're really hard to get hold of. I guess Firestone is a better place.
