Three years ago I went in with 104 temp, diarrhea and horrible stomach pain. The ER doctor held me in a room for over an hour, after telling me the needed a stool culture. Finally brought me what I needed to do there culture, then sent me home with my symptoms. Stating I just needed to drink Powerade and rest. So I went to Franklin Woods and the admitted me right away for tachycardia, colitis, sepsis and mu culture came back for salmonella. The VA ER doctor dismissed me and didn't even run my stool culture (found that out days after). If I would have taken the VA ER doctor's advice I'd be dead.

I had a really bad fall in Dec 24th of 2022. I was told I be fine by the first checkup it was just an XRay because I'm not a Doc I just took his word. No PT recommendation or anything. I went to PT and had a nice guy helping me for a very long time but honestly wasn't fixing the problem. In October of 2023 I had gone to gym and did claf raises and just felt something happen. Snuck my way in to get a CT or I would have waited 3 months! Found out there is more going on then just 1 simple fracture. My question is why is the Government a reactive force instead of a proactive force. I never knew about this crack and now my hip is all strained because by this time all my weight bearing has gone to my good foot. Have never been without pain this year in my right foot and honestly am scared that I won't be able to keep up in the work force because I can't think about anything when standing on my feet for to long. Why does the VA only care about their 60+ patients easy answer, they use them as cash cows to suck all the Medicare out of them and forget about most others. I'm so upset at my county, I wish they just cared as much as I cared about my country when I served. They now want to do surgery but have no current X Ray's or CTs let alone every time I've gone that is the first time they r looking at my report. So whatever they find during the Apointment is brand new to them. I feel this is one of the worst ways to treat a Vet that served their country Honestly.

At 59 I ve been dealing with kidney stones since I was a sophomore in high school. That being said it s because of my kidney stones that Dr. Allison Christie caught a tumor on my right kidney in its most earliest stage. They tried a procedure that froze the tumor and stopped the growth for a year. Then it grew more so the Doctor preformed the operation with theDa Vinci robotic surgical machine. The tumor was malignant but outside of the scare tissue no cancer cells. The surgery got it all.Thank you Dr. Allison Christie and the staff at Mountain Home Va Hospital

This use to be a place I bragged about, in the past year its become all about the employees and not the veterans, they take more and more out of the programs, the employees have become spoiled and act like your a burden on them, I'm leaving worse off than when I came.

James Quillen VAMC Mountain Home TN. Domilicary. If you are considering this place for mental health treatment, please, for your own good don t choose this place. My experience here was horrid as were the Mental health Doctors. Attached are pictures of the Domicillary first floor. The conditions e unsanitary and dirty. Upon checking out that same day they wouldn t give my medicine to me when I checked out which is prescribed by my own Provider. Mountain Home is 109 miles from my home, neither Knoxville nor the Sevierville Clinic offers the treatment I need. Writing my Congressman yielded no helpful results. I am Grandfathered in under the Choice Program. I am over 40 miles from any VA facility, there is nothing the VA offers within a 40 mile radius of my home for my needs.

1st. EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY school for quacks needs,t be at ETSU. This is federal property, not for a state school that's not that good. I'm in the VA right now just having surgery. I love most of the staff and most of the doctors. But have been treated rudely by young QUACKS from ETSU thinking they are better than me and have no respect for a soldier. Beautiful campus, better than All of Ballad's Covid Hospitals, rip off, corrupt, and illegal monopoly horsepitals.

For the most part this facility has been spot on for VA care. New Years 2022 I was admitted following what normally been an outpatient procedure. I concurred with being admitted overnight for observation. I was put in ICU therefore tying up one of those beds. According to the doctors who perform the procedure I was only being kept for observation overnight. The attending in ICU could not seem to get my insulin correct which almost made me crash twice. When I tried to argue my point with the doctor, the next thing I know VA police had been called. This being after I refused to sign an AMA that was blank. So basically my take is the VA police is not there to protect the veteran in this case as I was being berated by the doctor. Did the VA Police do anything other than escalate the situation by intentionally and attempting to intimidate me? So who's interest, stong arm to me? Yet to get a return call from the patient advocate. Now that I gave them a head start, I guess go to the congressional route as well as OIG for the actions taken.

The best VA that I have been to. I have been to at least 7 in the United States. Wonderful Medical Staff's that really care for their veterans. At least I have been taken care of. Of course I can't speak for every veteran, but I hear a lot of great comments from other veterans reference this facility. Some small issues, but they are making great strides in improving the weak areas. I am blessed to be able to go to this facility for all my medical care.

The facility is not bad but a few of the workers were less than professional. One man working the desk in cardiology check-in never wore his face mask, and told my husband I was being seen (he had been parking the car) when I was actually lost trying to find my way back from the restroom. The tech who did my echocardiogram was fantastic! She was kind, and answered my questions. The lady doing the screening for COVID upon first entering the building was not friendly. I understand it may be a bore to sit there and ask the same questions but attempt to engage the people entering the facility. I live 130 miles away and try to receive community care.

The worse hospital in the world to get into. I live in Knoxville, TN and was sent to the local ER for issues. The VA in Johnson City refused to talk to them saying that it was not service connected and I was not in dire need of attention. They said that the local hospitals were the place to go. I am upset because it is over 100 miles to the VA ER and I am having issues getting anyone there to address my problems I will start with the White House and my representatives on Monday but it is sad that a veteran has to go to this method to get someone to help. I can't drive 100+ miles in a chance the ER will help. If I drive that distance then they will say I don't have issues. It is sad that this is the treatment a Veteran gets. Very sad indeed.

Dr. McDonald and his assistant did a great job and I want to thank them all for their support for Veterans! I wish I could of got all the men and woman nurses names to post here to thank! God Bless you all and my prayers that Jesus guides and blesses you all!

Sat waiting in this ER with several other people for over 8 hours, until nearly 2:30 AM. I left, drove to Franklin Woods and was seen in less than fifteen minutes. The staff at this hospital could not possibly care less.

The mentality and level of care that I have received from the Dr's , Nurses, and ancillary staff is unsurpassed from any care that i have previously received from the Ballad hospitals. I will from now on use this facility.

Mountain Home has always been there when I've needed them. And always provided excellent care. They only ask that you follow policy rules.

Absolutely the best of treatment! I was well looked after and more importantly respected. Others should use these people as a example. Thank you for YOUR service .

I was impressed with how I was treated. Everyone was courteous and I was seen in a timely manor despite the volume of fellow veterans that were there.

Losing dad was the hardest thing that I've ever endured, being able to come and go without being harassed made the difference in being able to cope and not being able the staff accepted that and even though it made their jobs harder they never once complained.
