I have a 3.5 liter ecoboost in my 2019 Ford F150. When I was under warranty I had to have the cam phaser repair twice and right about at 120000 miles I noticed my gas mileage went from 19-20 around town all the way to 15-16. I ve had it serviced at Ford on 153 for the life of the vehicle up till now and never had any mention of a problem. No trouble lights ever came on or indicated that I was low on antifreeze. I reached out to a trusted friend, Chuck Miller, and asked if he could take a look at it. He knows a lot about every engine ever made!! He took a look at it and found several coolant leaks. So I asked him to do a tune up and to fix those leaks and he gave me a quote and had it fixed rather promptly considering there was a lot of work needed. Was it expensive? Yes, do I mind? No. I felt for the work it was fairly priced and when it comes to my truck which plays a major role in getting me around plus some light utility I could not afford having the cheapest mechanic working on it. I needed an expert and that s why I called Chuck Miller. I really value his and his teams expertise and quality work. If you have something serious or potentially serious wrong with your vehicle taking it to Hixson Transmission will give you peace of mind that it s done right and fairly priced which will in the end add years to the life of your vehicle.

I regularly use this business for my trusty 20 year old vehicle. The staff is friendly and professional, and as upfront about costs as possible. Communication is good when vehicle is staying in the shop. They stay busy, which is a good indicator I think, so be prepared to be worked in as their schedule allows. The bathroom is always clean and stocked with with soap and such. That's a plus in my book and seems rare for an auto repair business.

They were very professional during the process of my vehicle being repaired. I have found my new repair shop. I will definitely be giving them my repeat business. My daughter has started bringing her vehicle here as well. We are both highly pleased.

The people here are more than amazing!!! We were traveling from IN to Florida, when our car broke down. A local, also a customer, recommended them. We called that evening from our hotel. Asked them if we had the car towed there, the next day, could they look to see why it was overheating and wouldn t start? They says to have it towed there, and they d do their best to look at it the next day. We also hit a huge pot hole and popped our tire, so we needed a new tire. Originally, Keith, the shop foreman answered the phone, and was beyond nice and helpful. Then, we talked with Alan, the service advisor , that moved heaven and earth to move things around to help get our car back on the road, ASAP. The mechanics were also friendly. One even drove us back to the hotel!! Alan asked him to take us. By noon the next day our fan motor was fixed, we got new tires put on, at a good, fair price. I can t say enough about Keith and Alan, and the entire staff. The owner is so blessed to have such a crew/family that works so well together, and is beyond kind. Please feel free to contact me. Alan and crew recently serviced my 2009 Subaru Forester with a 5 speed transmission. Service was done fast and the car shifts great. I had a clutch and throw out valve replaced. One of the few places in town that will service manual transmissions.

The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The time it took for the transmission to be replaced was fast. Happy with the warranty, so far. However, after having this shop do the work, I found another transmission shop that replaced the transmission in my son's similar truck, with similar warranty for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE. Hixson transmission, good people, good job, over priced.

Andy and Pat have been absolutely amazing! They have been upfront, honest and very patient when explaining my car problems to me. They have been caring, professional and completed my repairs in a timely manner. I was having an issue with my transmission and took it in to get checked out. They quoted me a $4000 full transmission rebuild that I couldn't afford. I told them at that price, I would just have to junk the car and got a business card for a guy they use. Before I did, I had a friend come take a look before going through with it. I'm glad I did. Turns out, the only issue was a faulty solenoid. My car is driving fine now with no issues or lights. To recap, they quoted me for a repair I didn't need AND they had no problem letting me junk it over what ended up being a $250 repair. After failing emissions testing, I dropped off my car. Not only did the staff address the issues causing it to fail, they also took it back to the testing facility ensuring I had one last task to add to my list. I was having a problem opening my spare fob to change the battery. Keith was very kind and changed the battery for me. I have trusted the care my cars to Hixson Transmission for years. The staff is always friendly and caring and the service is wonderful.

Allan and Keith were right on top of everything when I was traveling in the area yesterday. I had some previous transmission trouble that we thought was fixed . Suddenly , I m 3 hours from home, and it acts up again . I had lost almost all my transmission fluid and was upset . They took us right in and checked it out . They patiently explained what was wrong and were actually able to fix my car right then . We were back on the road within a few hours. Even asked me to call and let me know I made it home safely . Decent car care you cannot get from most repair shops. Most auto repair shops cannot do transmission work. This shop does transmission work and they do a decent job. The prices are reasonable and the staff are curious.The hours can be inconvenient if you work regular business hours. But they can provide transportation from their shop to any place nearby and pick you up later.

Hixson transmission was absolutely fantastic. They kept me informed about the progress on my car and their prices were reasonable. Another place quoted me $1,200 and Hixson transmission fixed it for $850. They even left a thank you note in my car when I picked it up. That is such a small thing but it made a really big impression.

As a single mom it is hard to find a honest place to get my car serviced. I have been lied to and taken advantage of multiple times at mechanic shops. The guys at Hixson Transmission were absolutely GREAT! They found what was wrong with my car and gave me options to help me. I decided to fix the car and it is back up and running smooth!! I will never go anywhere else! Highly recommend!

Posted on Facebook for my friends and family's recommended car mechanics for my husbands truck. We were told by two prior mechanics (well known in the community) that he needed a rebuilt transmission. My friends recommended Hixson transmission. Chuck asked me to bring the truck to let them look at it first! After a few hours he had sent me pics emailed me an invoice and had a diagnosis that made MUCH MORE sense then an entire rebuilt transmission! He saved me about $1k!!!! The staff were ALL professional and I have already passed their information onto MANY other friends and family!! Great service!

Highly, highly recommend! In the past two years my car lived at a different car repair center for 130+ days over the same 3 issues. I would get my car back either still broken or within a week or two the issue would begin again. Because my warranty was through said other place I didn't think to take it elsewhere, I wasn't sure anyone else would deal with the warranty company and all of the red tape that comes with that. Hixson Transmission and Total Car Care not only dealt with my warranty company but FINALLY resolved all of my issues that the other place couldn't seem to fix by using the right quality parts and immediately finding issues they'd overlooked for years. I can't speak highly enough about Hixson Transmission and my experience there. Everyone there was absolutely wonderful and I'm confident that my car was repaired properly!

Best experience with customer service in a long time. Went in because of an odd size oil filter on my truck that I was changing the oil in. Hixson had changed my oil last time because I had to leave town on short notice. Explained that the filter was smaller in diameter than in the past. They were quick to loan me their smaller tool to take home and get my filter off. Special curls to Jennifer for going the extra mile to solve a problem even though I was not paying for services this time. I offered to rent the tool they insisted I just bring it back as quickly as possible.Appreciate the attitudes and a business that knows how to make a person want to use them.

Took the car in for service and was met with a smiling face and was told they would get my car ready as soon as possible. When you take your car to them you never have to worry about what they are or are not going to do. the job is done correctly and just as I was told it would be, no hidden charges or a underhanded way to get you to spend more than you need. What a relief it is to have my cars repaired by them.

One of the most reputable businesses in the Chattanooga area. Friendly helpful staff willing to take the time to answer all of your questions. In the ten years that I have been taking my vehicles to their shop they have never once attempted to sell me something that I didn't need to complete the repair. Their car Club program is a huge Plus.

My mom has been going here for years and swears by them. They are very friendly and do a good job. The two negatives are that they charge more than other, just as good shops, and sometimes it can take a while to get your vehicle back because they have so much work and a fairly small location.

We made an appointment to drop off at 8am on Friday. Our check engine light was on and we needed an estimate to get it fixed so it could pass emissions. I called around noon for an update but they said they would look at it after lunch. My husband called back at 4:30 before they closed for thr weekend but they still hadn't looked at the vehicle! We wasted a whole day. The man answering the phone was nice and apologetic but they lost our business.

We experienced an unusual starting problem which grounded our 2009 Honda Civic while visiting Chattanooga. Our local host recommended towing it to Hixson Transmission which is AAA certified and was nearby. Strangely it started there and after checking the battery, alternator and starter they could not find any problem. Allan Lee recommended not replacing anything until a catastrophic failure and refused to charge us for hours of diagnostic work.It's so unusual to find such honesty and integrity in auto service! I only wish Alan and his team were located where we live. And BTW the car went 400 miles to our home and still starts flawlessly...gremlins?

We recently just had a need for work on our 2010 Volkswagen transmission. From the very start all the way through to the finish the team at Speedy's Hixson Transmission gave us the very best service. When you drive a Jaguar you sometimes have a problem finding a repair shop to do the littlest things. Like checking the transmission fluid !!! My husband took the car to several shops 1 day and got everything from answers like " We don't work on Jags". " I can't find the dipstick". And finally. " Give me your number and I'll call you with an estimate " Hixson Transmission took the car right in and in less then 15 minutes brought it back out and said " You're good to go. They had to add about 1/2 quart to top it off ". When Big Daddy askSusan KetchumYour review will be posted publicly on the web. Learn moreed what he owed? They told him " NO CHARGE ". WOW. They did tell him that it needed a full service soon, but she was good for now. Afterwards I did some checking and found out the Service would run about $350 to $500. And that 1/2 quart of ATF runs $35 to $50 per quart. Thank you guys again and we will see you soon for that service. They could have pushed him to have it done right then, but they were honest and truthful. Real hard to find these days.

So I took my car in for new brakes. When I get a call about an hour later I am told it needs an oil change( which I was aware of) tire rotation and new tires, new wiper blade in addition to new brakes/ rotors. $625. I simply can not afford this college student/parent/working. He took some off for me which was kind , but still very overpriced. I came and got the car and had a buddy look at it instead. He agreed. Way way overpriced.

Had some work done on my vehicle ($2000-4000). Within 13 hours of receiving car back, it started acting up so I took it back. They said something else was wrong and that it would be nearly $800 to fix. When I investigated the cause of second issue, I found that nearly never happens unless the water pump is incorrectly extracted. When confronted, Hixson Transmission said "Well, it's still going to be $800".I have taken a few cars there previously but I have NEVER gone back after being swindled on that job.

The staff was courteous, professional and very friendly! I especially appreciate their fairness and honesty. I love the pick up and delivery service they offer. They picked my car up from work in the morning, repaired it during the day, and it was delivered back to me at work by the end of the day. Superb!! Keep up the good work guys.....

Brought both of our cars here and everyone is professional and tell you exactly what s going on . My husbands car needed a new transmission and they gave us multiple options. Fast service. Plus I had battery problem at gas station, called 5 minutes they came and jumped battery. Will have car worked on there from now on.Oh satisfied by establishment. Had more work,thought I had correct amount for bill,I was a little short and they were awesome ,said pay remaining balance when I can. 1 piece at a time Johnny cash song. That's me ,fix 1 at a time. So GREAT PLACE to get work done.

Hixson Transmission does great work on my car from all types of mechanical work to tires and oil change. Honest, fair price and they stand behind their work. If my car begins to act up, I am sure that Hixson Transmission can fix it
