Surprisingly a great experience! Coleman Taylor was recommended by my favorite auto mechanic. The transmission on my 2017 Tahoe was starting to slip. My brother had just had his replaced by someone else and the cost and timing was astronomical. The CT guys told me it could take 3 days or possibly a week. I dropped it off on Monday morning. Struggling to find a rental I get a phone call on Tuesday ?!?! It was Coleman Taylor. They had fixed my Tahoe. Replaced the transmission! It runs like a new car! And the cost was fair and a lot less than what I was expecting!I would highly recommend these guys for any transmission work you need. I intend to keep them in my contact list!!

I found the Coleman Taylor team to be professional and most accommodating. They worked well with my warranty service Silver Rock and had my car ready for the road amazingly less than 24 hours. Although I haven't gotten my car back yet, to leave a comment on the job that is being performed on it. Very proudly I can say that Coleman Taylor has an excellent customer service and they perform a free diagnostic plus they give you your upfront cost with fees in taxes included, which is far better than many of these other companies I deal with. Plus I went to another mechanic shop for the exact same issue and although, Coleman Taylor is charging more I decided to go with them yet and still because they were so honest, up front, and they appear to be trustworthy! Need I mention, they have an A+ rating with the bbb since 1962.

Can't say enough good things about these guys. I was traveling from Arkansas and noticed my transmission getting hot. I took it to these guys and they were able to work me in the same day and resolve the issue.

These folks are great. You can take what they say to the bank. I have been to two locations and they both had wonderful customer service and treated my car as if it were their own. I cannot be any more positive about a business than I am about Coleman!

5 Stars!! My car needed a new transmission. I was recommended Coleman Taylor via a co-worker. They sent a tow truck to pick up my car on Thursday, on Monday, they called and told me I can come and pickup my vehicle. Fast, solid work, and they're customer service is impeccable!! Coleman Taylor Transmissions did an awesome job on my transmission. I have a 2013 Dodge Journey and the transmission went out. State Farm towed it to the nearest dealership, who quoted me $11,000!! Coleman Taylor beat that by over $7000. And they worked fast. My car is driving like brand new, and it is getting better gas mileage. Definitely 5/5.Service: Transmission

I brought my car into Coleman Taylor Transmissions in Cordova at the recommendation of another shop. Whether or not it needed a repair was uncertain, but these guys took it in, tested it, called me back promptly, and sent me on my way without trying to sell me parts or services I didn't need. They were friendly and easy to work with as well. Highly recommended!Service: Transmission

If I could give 10 stars I would. Hands down the the best service and quickest repairs I ve ever had regarding any of my vehicles. Along with VERY reasonable prices. The diagnostic and replacement of my shifter took 2 days and I am so grateful! My car now shifts flawlessly!

Took my car in for a transmission inspection. They got it done within about 4-5 hours. Everyone was friendly. The mechanic was patient on the phone and answered all my questions. They didn't find any issues so there was no charge. I'll definitely take my car back if anything comes up.

They were so polite and very professional. They helped me in my time of need when my warranty wouldn't. They worked with me and made it a wonderful experience for me. If I need anything else done I know I'm taking it to them. Also they offer a year warranty on what they fix. Coleman-Taylor was phenomenal. They were referred to us by our mechanic at the dealership. We have an old-age, high-mileage, fun/weekend sport s car. We were nervous to see if they would even do the work all things considered. Despite 30+ years old and 200k miles, they never hesitated. They were always kind and kept everything very professional. They got our car back to us within the allotted timeline. We are very appreciative for their service! Highly recommend! We used the location off of Germantown Pkwy in Memphis/ Bartlett, Tenn. The entire staff at this location was absolutely wonderful. We knew no one going in, but felt like a valued customer immediately. From the first phone call I made, to drop off, to diagnosis, to pick up... every single step provided the BEST customer service! We had an issue with our Ford Expedition so we naturally took it to a Ford dealership. They did not communicate timelines well and did not have a good process in place to handle our needs.I then took the car to Coleman Taylor who had the issue diagnosed within 1 business day even though they had so many cars to handle that they had to use another parking lot just to store them in. The manager, Cecile, clearly communicated how the process would work as we were dealing with a warranty company. Coleman Taylor handled all communication with the warranty company and had my car fixed faster than expected.This location of Coleman Taylor exceeded my expectations.Service: Transmission

I have a 2005 4runner and my mother recommended Coleman Taylor , I must say they are busy but their service was second to none... If your one that has to have a phone call every half an hour this is not for you. But if you are one to want it done right at a price that you can afford please try them... I highly recommend them and will definitely be back. Ask for Cecil..Cecil, thank you sir you could have done things differently and you chose to do things in my mind was absolutely the way you do business from that experience I am a customer for life!!!

Coleman Taylor were amazing and professional. I was having transmission issues. Everything i looked up was bad news. Took it in to find out it was just a fuse. They called me back to tell me the good news. I asked how much the cost was going to be. They said they would not charge me for something so simple. Great people. Great service. If and when I need actual work done i will go back to Colman Taylor's, they have earned my loyalty

This company is the best!!! I needed my vehicle looked at right away and they were very accommodating and helpful . When the service professional found out what the problem was,they called me and made certain I was in agreement with the proposed plan to fix the car . I was feeling a strange shudder in my truck so I called Coleman Taylor.They allowed me to bring it in the same day!In a matter of hours, I had heard back from Marvin and he thoroughly explained what was going on and what my options were. He was friendly, helpful and patiently answered all of my questions.I m not going to get the repair done as the vehicle is still in it s return window but if I need a transmission repair in the future, I will definitely be a customer.Thanks so much Marvin!

My husband had a great experience at this Coleman Taylor location. His very complicated transmission work was completed excellently and with professionalism and courtesy. I can't recommend them ENOUGH! Shout out to the manager there, Cecil. He was fantastic!

Great experience with Cecil , he provided a fair price and work completed within the timeframe promised. He also called me after I left the business to inform me the warranty info provided was incorrect, and provided me with a 2yr /24,000 mile warranty. I would not have caught it in my paperwork. Great to know people still care about providing great service and have integrity about doing good work!

I took my 2013 Honda CRV to them for a wheel bearing to be replaced. Due to the incompetence of their mechanic, what should have been a 4 hr job ended up taking the whole week. I will say that Cecil was honest about what happened and did not overcharge me for a series of problems created by their man. I will have to have an alignment done again because the mechanic broke a major part on the car. This is actually the second time I received less than acceptable repair work from them. On the other hand they did an excellent job for me one time. Two wrong and one right doesn't work for me. My opinion is they have had good mechanics and built a good reputation. This overwhelms them with work and they just don't have enough knowledgeable people in the shop. They are trying to get the work out by using helpers to do skilled work. Even though the work is guaranteed I will not take it back to them again. My family rides in this car and I have very little confidence in their ability.Edit: I discovered this morning that the car is missing two lug nuts. I lowered the overall rating and considering reporting this to the BBB. If they gave it back to me missing lug-nuts I am wondering what else is wrong that I do not see. They replaced the right side wheel bearing apparently for no reason. There was no charge for this and listed on the bill with no warranty. He probably messed this up as well and doesn't want to cover it.The other bad experience I had with this shop is when they rebuilt the transmission in my truck. When I picked the truck up Cecil told me there was a bad vibration in it. He was right, but it did not have that vibration before they rebuilt the transmission. I was told my wheels were bent and I had a broken motor mount. These were not true. The problem was in the universal joint. They must have lost one of the caps for it during the course of there work. I checked this myself and found two different style caps on the rear u joint. After replacing the u joint, the vibration went away. Also the main reason for the rebuild was it slipped when it was cold. It still did it after their work. Cecil told me it was the nature of the beast. Then one of the cooling lines came off the transmission while I was on the highway at 55mph. The work was out of warranty, time-wise, by then, but only had 5000 miles on it. Basically i threw $2000 away on my old truck.Hire some decent mechanics!
