My water pump went out. I took my truck to Kinnairds in the afternoon and they had it fixed by the next morning.They explained my options but did not try to upsale me.The cost was reasonable for the work done and they gave me an itemized bill. I'm glad to have good, dependable mechanics nearby.

I don't like giving Google reviews and admittedly only give them when I've had an extremely bad experience with a business, so here I go.I chose to have our car taken here because I had searched my local FB groups and this place was recommended. I called the place up and everything seemed ok enough, so I agreed, at the mechanic's recommendation, to allow them to have my car towed there over having my insurance provide the tow, which in hindsight was kind of weird.My vehicle had sat there for about a week, which I wasn't too concerned about as I realize these things take time and that auto shops are generally very busy and overwhelmed. We had a snowstorm the following week, so I also took that into consideration and did not call for an update until a week after the snowstorm. "I should get to it by Monday." is what I was told. That makes sense and I was very understanding, even mentioning myself that I'm sure he is backed up due to the weather.I called the following Friday and was told the same thing. Ok. I called the following Friday, was told - "Monday". I skipped a Friday and called the Friday after that and was told, "Monday" again. Over and over. At this point, my car had been there for 7 weeks. Despite the snowstorm, this timeline did not follow the original ETA I was provided.Well, as embarrassing as it is, my family found ourselves in a bit of a financial spot and were going to get monetary assistance to aide in covering the repair costs. All we needed was a W9 from the mechanic to get the ball rolling.So, I called up Kinnairds to ask for a W9 and was rudely denied. I explained my situation to him and humbly explained how time was of the essence in regard to this simple form and my situation. He still said no, claiming that, "we can try to say we paid him when we really didn't pay him anything." Understandable, I'm sure people may have done this in the past or attempted it, so I had a caseworker reach out to him to confirm the credibility of why we were asking for a W9 and he still (as per the caseworker) rudely refused.Anyway, we had our car towed from there because at coming on 8 weeks it had not even been looked at and the owner (I presume) was not willing to work with us (or even look at our vehicle) and being rude about it at that.I can't speak for the work they do or their prices (though they only charged us $70 bucks for the original tow). I have read plenty of good reviews from folks who are from out of town, broken down, and found this place in a pinch, so that's great and this place will likely work for you if that is the situation you have found yourself in. It would just be nice if they catered and accommodated to locals as heartily as they do to passerby's broken down on the highway.

As with many other reviewers, I got stranded in Tennessee when my car broke down. Scotty was the guy who towed my car. I was SO impressed with him. He was clearly a brilliant mechanic (quick diagnosis, fast + good work) and much in demand locally. He saved my butt. Almost makes me want to move to Cookeville

We broke down on the interstate, we managed to get to this shop by accident. We are from our of state, and they could have easily gouged us for repairs. Not only did they NOT do that they all went above and beyond to help us out and get us back on the road. We needed a MAJOR repair and they kept working until the late hours for us. They are definitely some "Good Ole' boys, Stan, Scotty and Jeremy treated us unbelievably good. Much thanks to Jeremy for working late into the night. Once again, great, Honest, shop to deal with..

One star from me, paid for axle seals and axle bearing job to be done , 2 months later my axle gets nearly cut into because of axle bearings not being replaced , and did not put new seal's in either used rtv. So in addition to what I had paid them cost me another 300.00 + new axle and labor. I seen they had almost a 5 star review which is why I chosen to take my vehicle to them but after getting screwed like that I won't be back.

My girlfriend and I were traveling from Arkansas to Gatlinburg, TN for a family trip when my car suddenly stopped running on the interstate near Cookeville, TN. After a quick google search, we decided to have my car towed to Kinnaird s. They not only got us in ASAP, they even called us twice before we arrived, just to check on us and make sure we had a tow on the way. It took them only an hour to tell us exactly what was wrong. Our engine had to be completely replaced. They called our dealership and really went to bat for us over an error in warranty. After contemplating our options, we decided to proceed with getting the engine replaced. Kinnaird s arranged for us to get a rental car so we could proceed with our planned trip. Throughout the week, they were sure to call us with updates which really gave us peace of mind. The owner and employees worked tirelessly to make sure our car would be ready by Friday so we could make it back home as planned. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!Service: Engine repair

Stan of Kinnairds fixed my SUV for 1/3rd the cost of quote I had from another shop. Stan diagnosed the problem and fixed it with fewer parts and labor.Stan and his staff are very knowledgeable and easy to work with.Highly Recommended!!

My cousin uses this place religiously but because it's is close to her house and she isn't one to shop around. She is overcharged, she has had work done to it that does not solve the problem the car was sent in for... This place will also put it on themselves to go ahead and fix a number of other things that they may come across without being asked or asking owner if it's ok. I DO NOT what so ever recommend this mechanic...

This is the best place in Cookeville for automobile repairs. Stan is extremely knowledgeable, him and his staff are always friendly, they provide prompt service and, as a female, I have never felt like I have been taken advantage of financially on my car repairs.
