Charged me $150 over the quoted price to replace my clutch and they didn t even replace it. Changed a few small parts and said the rest was labor, and left my center console flopping around the cabin. They fixed it quickly, which I appreciate especially this time of year, but sloppy craftsmanship and VERY expensive.

When asking for recommendations on transmission shop, this place was the first one mentioned by several friends. Great people, great work, took time to explain what they did, what to expect from my vehicle. Great experience with them all around!

I have had the A/C on two vehicles serviced and repaired with Better Built this past year and could not be happier with the price or the service. They were quick, friendly, and fair. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The best transmission shop in columbia hands down. Trustworthy, very honest, helpful, informative, and fare pricing. I had A 4R 100 transmission. Rebuilt that another shop lied about fixing. My truck runs great and I haven't had any issues or problems. Would recommend to everybody these guys are awsome. 10 out 10. I will use them again 100%.Service: Transmission

If I could leave 6 stars, I would. I was on a road trip passing through town when I lost 3rd gear. Better Built had me back on the road with a fully rebuilt transmission in 72 hours. They offered me a 1-year warranty on their work and took the time to explain everything they did to my transmission. I was blown away by the quality of work and professionalism. I took my Van here to have the Transmission worked on via a hard shift problem. Transmission work is not a simple job. One mistake can destroy a transmission. This shop is top notch and honest. They are very busy and they don't have a large staff of mechanics. If you are patient they will fit you in and the wait is worth it. My job was rather small as respects a profit for them. No business stays in business without a profit. Most shops wont even take on a small job. It's usually not worth taking their tools out of the tool box. This shop did the work, (did it right) and the price was fair but if you are in a rush to get a small job done, such as mine was, you might be disappointed. It did take a while for them to get to my vehicle but they did apologize to me when I picked it up. The end of the matter is, my van now shifts like it did when it was brand new so it was worth the wait.

I just found out yesterday that this transmission shop is the only one in Columbia who actually does repair work on manual transmissions. Their competitors only remove and install manual transmissions but, don't actually work on them. The owner also advised me that my son's manual transmission is probably fine and that the issue likely lies in the linkage. So this shop is not trying to cost you more than is necessary which has become a rare thing today. I appreciated his honesty and will likely be using this service in the near future.

I have known Mark since the old days at Harvey's Gym. My truck's transmission was completely worn out. My truck had 423,000 miles on it. Mark gave me a price and when I saved up the money he had the job done in 3 days. I couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism. I will tell everyone I know that these are the people to take your vehicle too for transmission and A/C needs : )

Got referred to this place for my transmission. Did not know anything about this place but as soon as I walked in I knew..I talked to Marc, they racked it and told me the bad news..worked me in real quick and had me back on the road with all the crazies in just 2 days. Price was ok knowing transmission work can be pricey. I will highly recommend these guys to fix your transmission any day!..great job

Great service at a fair and honest price. If you're thinking of going somewhere else you're messing up. The owner is a straight forward guy who will tell you what you need and won't try to just replace things to run the bill up. Check them out, you won't regret it.
