We took my husband s 65 Mustang to this shop for power steering. Despite the weather being bad and parts being delayed, they did not communicate with us. We had to constantly call to get updates. Most of the time we were told we would get a call back and then didn t.There was extra worth that needed to be done that the never told us about and we were charged for.When we went to pick the car up it would not stay on, kept dying. That was not an issue prior to dropping it off. They fixed it but yet it still died after we picked it up.Not to mention all the oil has drained out of the filter & now we have to get it towed across town to fix all the things they messed up that they weren t even supposed to be touching.& to top it off there is a huge gouge in the tire that wasn t there before.

My car had been studdering when the gears shifted. I was previously told it was transmission related. Had a couple other places look at it and the issue progressively got worse. I thought my transmission was going bad, but found this place and called. They were able to squeeze me in 15m later from my call and checked out the car. In about 2hrs got a call that it could be the torque convertor, but the codes they were getting did not say that outright. They suggested doing a tune up and replace my spark plugs with higher end ones and drive it for a day to see if that was a fix. If that didn't work, they said, it likely was going to be a $1200-$2,000 torque convertor fix. They answered all my questions politely and steered me in the direction of less money and time to ensure the work they were doing was completely necessary.Ben and Carl were exceptional. They were polite and kind. Carl even picked me up a few miles away and allowed me to test drive the car with him in it to ensure the problem was resolved. I feel so much better about driving my car and about who I will take it to if it does ever end up having issues again. Very thankful for this place and their honesty and expertise. We took the work truck to them thinking was a transmission problem. Btw 2nd shop first was A and R bigger franchise. Couldn't look at it two days later because it's a sixteen foot box truck. Blake's was pretty small building but the mechanics there know there stuff. Told us catalytic converter. We were sceptical because it was replaced 3 years prior. We give them the go ahead and change the catalytic converter. Next day we were able to return the rental truck. Thank y'all so much. Definitely will bring back for the next issue!!

I received a diagnosis from Jenkins and Wynne Ford saying that my Transmission needed to be replaced, cost $7035. The month before, a Ford dealer in Texas, while on vacation, charged me $1100 to fix this problem which obviously was not fixed. I knew my engine had too much power for it to be the Transmission. I took it to Blake's and after a quick diagnosis, it was found to be the vacuum tube at a repair cost of $236. My truck is back to normal and drives well. They were polite and very helpful. I guess this will be my new go to mechanic. Ford seems to do upcharge service preying on the vulnerable. Thank you Blake's.Service: Transmission

This is a late review, but something I had to do when I found Frank's card I had to write a review. Me and my girlfriend drove our Frankenstein 03 Chevy Express Ext. Edition across the country in the fall of '21. We broke down and were lucky (and thankful) enough to be able to have it towed to F&J. Thankfully my partner had family in town. We were exhausted and ready to leave town and finally head home to Oregon after a very exhausting trip, multiple breakdowns in TN, and being told in Nashville it was an "electrical issue" and we would have "no problems" making it home despite my knowledgable partner trying to convince them otherwise. Well... she called it and was right. It was the transmission.After about two weeks and Franks upfront honesty (which this customer will always prefer), we got it done and made it all the way from the southern tip of FL to the Pacific Northwest. If it wasn't for Frank and his team, we would of been flying in the wind. For his honesty, his work, and dealing with our constant calls to check on our giant steel baby, I cant think of anything less than a 5 star rating.The wild-colored haired couple with the giant green ex-fleet van say hi. We made it and if your ever in OR, well you know what van to look for

This business deserves so much more credit than I even have the words to say! The team was extremely knowledgeable about the likelihood of repairs before I even brought the vehicle for diagnosis! After being told the worst from Wyatt Johnson GMC and an absolute ridiculous amount, Blake's automotive was able to tell me EXACTLY what caused my transmission failure as well as provide a feasible repair cost and timeline. At pick up of my vehicle, even my coworker was sold on their professionalism and asked for a quote to likely send his vehicle for repair. Thank you so much for bringing my GMC Sierra back to life with more force than before!Service: Transmission

I stopped by with just a few questions because I was going to do my own service on transmission and these guys treated me like I've been going there for years haven't even used their service and this guy's under my truck giving me advice I was very impressed and will definitely be going there for repairs

Very knowledgeable and professional. My son is living in town for a year and his transmission (that had just been rebuilt by a different shop 6 months ago) failed again. Frank got us in as soon as possible and took the time to explain exactly what had failed and how he would repair it. He even went above and beyond to help us fix another issue with the vehicle unrelated to the transmission for a great deal! Very satisfied! Go visit Frank if you are having any transmission issues!

Cant express how pleased I am with the service I got from F&J Transmission. Took my 07 Sierra in for Transmission rebuild. He had the truck done in 3 days. Out of all the transmission shops I ve talked to, Frank at F & J Transmissions, was the most knowledgeable. Very professional over the phone and when I showed up. As well as the workers there. I had my truck dropped off and they had the transmission rebuilt in a short amount of time. The price was 1/3 of buying a rebuilt transmission online and paying someone to install it. And the online rebuilt transmission business didn t have very good reviews. I m talking about big name companies. I felt the most confident going with Frank at F&J. Frank even checked out my transfer case, diffs and the oil cooler.If you are not having your transmission work done at F & J Transmissions, you might want to think again!Thanks Frank and all the employees at the shop! I will be recommending you to all my colleagues.

We took our f150 in after the transmission had been slipping pretty bad. It has accelerating problems as well. The guy who owns the shop, sorry I ve forgotten his name, was very sweet to me when I first took the truck in without my husband present. Being a female, people at shops tend to take advantage of what they think our knowledge on vehicles is. He was very kind & informative about what he was going to do. We dropped it off & he had it done in about 3 weeks from the day we took it in. I could tell he was pretty slammed with different vehicles & with covid, parts were taking a while to ship which is completely understandable. Our truck now runs great. Highly satisfied with the customer service & the outcome. It feels good to have our truck back to the way it used to be!Service: Transmission

Absolutely a very trustworthy place! They rebuilt my transmission and it has been performing better than ever. They are a small outfit but the wait is worth it! Believe me I have been a victim of the quick / cheap transmission places and it has never been a good outcome!

I like to DIY when I can, but I got out of my depth with some transmission work and my ignorance ended up costing me. Frank was able to get me back on the road in a timely manner. He has a lot of experience with my type of transmission (4L60E), and I am very pleased with his work. I m over 3000 miles into a rebuild and everything is working just right. Wow. Just wow. Frank, Julie and the guys at F & J transmission are top notch. They gave me a fast diagnostic and even researched and informed me about the parts needed to repair my vehicle. They go the extra mile for their customers and are amazing with communication. Don't take your vehicle any where else BUT F&J TRANSMISSION.I'm once again super impressed with this company. They always strive to make things rite. One of my favorite businesses in Clarksville

They were very easy to work with and very knowledgeable of Transmissions. I had a whistling sound that I thought was coming from the transmission and with several miles left on their journey I was concerned. They took a lot of time to assess that my transmission was solid and working properly. They did not charge me for the assessment.

Wouldn t recommend, my truck has been down for close to 5 months now (due to another shops latency). I am currently deployed so I am having my wife handle everything. I told her to go to F&J since they had good reviews and one of my friends had great service there. She went in talked with the lady at the desk. She explained the situation from the previous shop and was told they won t work on the truck since they are friends with the other shops owner. It isn t my fault the other shop has drug their feet and not listened to me for what was wrong. I sent my wife there with the intent they would be able to help and they turned her away. We are a customer like anyone else despite your relations, it wasn t like we were pitting the shops against each other for competition. Just simply trying to get the truck fixed. Absolutely disappointed with how they handled the situation.

Highly ethical, high level of service, High level of knowledge! F & J was able to correct an issue with my transmission that was a custom install done by some else that didn t do a quality job, they troubleshot and corrected my transmission issue! Repaired it right, without just repairing it to work!Thank you!!!

Brought in my 2005 Honda Civic to get serviced and checked found out my clutch was no good. They ordered the part and had it done within less than a week amazing service very nice and helpful. Would definitely do business again.

Great shop. So far so good on the install. The modifications to the truck made the job a little harder but they still got it done. Worked with me when I needed it.Hopefully won t need to but will be a return customer if need be.

I highly recommend this place for transmission issues. Frank was very helpful and let me know what was wrong and how to fix it for the best price I could get and best parts I could get. Very friendly people and angered all my questions.

Awesome business, Helped me find out what was leaking and fixed it within a day. Very friendly customer service, would recommend this shop to everyone in Clarksville. Its hard to find a honest trans shop around here.
