Great experience with April and the mechanic. He found the cause of the noise coming from my engine, which was the harmonic balancer rubbing. She called and alerted me the problem was not what I was told. They started the repair earlier than planned, on the same day we dropped it off. Another mechanic led me to believe it was something completely different, but Maxi fixed it. They saved me from paying for any unnecessary work. Thank you!

I highly recommend coming here if you have any auto issues. April and the mechanics are very pleasant and really do try to get you in as soon as possible. I ll be coming here from now on if I have any further issues

We broke down on our way to Florida, Maxi Auto Services was outstanding with customer service, auto repair and communication. They fixed our truck quickly and charged very little. Thank you April for all your help. I definitely recommend.

The lady at front desk (April) is amazingly nice. Since they could not assist us with our problem she made arrangements with another garage for us. She phoned couple of garages and even took an appointment for us. Thank you sooo much!

We were unable to get the work done we needed due time time but that's was not their fault it was ours. However the lady at the desk was very kind. She was doing her best to get us in before our time restraint.

They where gonna charge a friend of mine 1700 to replace his hole a.c system. My friend tells me about it and iam like hey let me look at it and see if I find anything. Well folks for a 50 cents fuse I fixed the 1700 dollar problem. This isn't the only major problem I've encountered with this place as my wife was a victim of a major rip on her car as well but we weren't so lucky. They hit the wallet hard and the problem was never fixed.

Until yesterday, I would have rated Maxi 5 stars without question. Maxi has been where I go to for exhaust system and brake work since 2005 on my 99 Cherokee. Maxi has taken care of my brakes and exhaust system on my 08 Canyon since it was new. They have installed an MBRP catback (broke), two Thrush Flowmaster copies (broke), and finally a Flowmaster 44 with a Silverado expansion joint in 2013 which cured my exhaust issues with the truck.The Maxi mechanics have seen this truck be modified/tuned over the years and know that I take care of it.I brought the truck in yesterday at 8am with an exhaust leak - right at the rear outlet of the Flowmaster, where an exhaust hanger had been welded. Bad placement? Oh yes. Should have been placed on the pipe, not the muffler. I'm told I need a new muffler and front counter guy recommends a 'Rush stainless steel' muffler for $10 more than another Flowmaster. 'Better than the Flowmaster? 'Yes'. Hmm... 'Ok' (supposed to be in Knoxville at 10am for a client, it is what it is, need fixed). Supposed to be after lunch time, only if I wait. They get it in early which I appreciate and tell them so. $164.I drive to Knoxville, something isn't right.Today I do a little research and find that muffler isn't designed for my truck/motor - that Lawson Rush doesn't make a muffler for my truck and on top of that, retails for $69! Get it at Amazon for $57! My engine is tuned for a certain type of performance muffler/exhaust and the Rush Stainless Steel muffler #71225 is designed for a 62-73 Charger with a V8. Also has a 2 year warranty, not 1 year like counter guy said.Wrong muffler and overcharged me for the privilege. Enclosed pictures show correct hanger placement on wrong muffler...I'm really disappointed, I consider this to be bad business practice and am hoping this won't be a huge issue to get corrected on Monday.Monday arrived and I was at Maxi at 8:30pm - Chris began with a bad attitude - advised him of the issue and the argument began. According to Chris: Mufflers are universal and putting a 2.25" inlet/outlet on 2.5" pipe is industry standard (No it isn't), He cannot get a Flowmaster 952547 anywhere (I called around, they are literally everywhere, even Walmart), that if I got one myself, there would be an extra charge.No refund for the wrong part Maxi Auto installed and I pay to have the correct muffler installed, as well as the muffler itself.I have stopped payment and have consulted legal help.I do NOT recommend Maxi Auto for anything, ever again.

I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the team here. I was driving down from the northwest and my car started having problems miles away from this place. Not only did they squeeze me in, they were sympathetic to my situation and had my issue taken care of within hours!! They were honest with what issues my van had and worked their best to provide quality service and care. And! They didn t rip me off with their pricing either. I am forever grateful and appreciative of all their help. Highly highly recommend them for all your auto needs!!!

Went and got quote to have a muffler I bought welded on and was told be $65 but doesn't include running a tip out back told be extra charge so they only put muffler on and the welds are weak and was at work when was called pick car up so my wife and mom pick it up for me and they charged her $82 this place is scam business

Replaced my son s exhaust and welds didn t hold, stripped the threads on oxygen sensor. The car was so consumed with carbon monoxide that he couldn t drive it, tried to take it back to get it fixed and waited 3 hours from the time of appointment and still wasn t able to get it fixed so I took it somewhere else!Service: Auto exhaust system replacementService: Auto exhaust system replacement

I would highly not recommend this business . Completely unprofessional. For some reason my other review was taken down. I had multiple pictures linked to my other review . . They left tools in my engine bay, didn t fix the check engine light issue with my car, had my car for 5 days, and were super rude . The owner Sandra tried to act completely clueless about the situation which was quite alarming . Will not be returning or recommending to anyone ever .Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Best mechanics in Athens, easy. Chris is an accommodating, excellent, experienced mechanic, and he s more than willing to do whatever is necessary to satisfy you and your needs. He s a great guy - I don t even live in Athens anymore, but I still visit and have these guys check out my car occasionally, because they re absolutely trustworthy. They won t scam you, they won t fool you, they won t lead you astray - they ll give it to you straight, provide top-of-the-line service at a fair price, and be 100% cooperative and helpful every step of the way. If you need your car worked on, this is the place to go. Without question.

I was initially quoted a base price of $120 to repair/replace something in the muffler/manifold/exhaust system. I made an appointment and was wonderfully impressed at how quickly the work was done. In 45 minutes I was out the door. It was the resonator that needed replacing and ended up costing me just $75 complete with parts, labor and tax. I am very pleased with Maxi Auto Service.Service: Exhaust

This place is frickin' awesome. Bf and I are driving from MI to FL and car broke down in Athens TN. Waited 3 hours for them to open and it was totally worth it. The guy was awesome and the service was quick. The price was shockingly reasonable. Our car was fixed and back on the road in an hour-n-half. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Chris the Manager Always takes good care of me fixes my cars right at fair prices. They are always busy that shows me they take good care of all of their customers. Word of mouth travels fast in a smaller town like Athens, Chris goes that extra mile to make sure your taken care of and happy

I must say, these guys really took care of me and spent a lot of time on an issue that they weren't even paid for. Had them pull and drop a motor.
