We stayed here for the summer while having some medical issues taken care of and we are glad we found this place. A true gem of a campground. Quiet, spacious, beautiful, clean, and great customer service. The sites are large and have great grass for you and your pups to enjoy. Summit has a higher altitude than other places in South Dakota so it has perfect summer weather, a few degrees cooler than everyone else and a light breeze to make it perfect. The owners Larry and Gilda are the best. They do so much to make all their guest feel at home. And they are great community members as well. Let's face it the town is small and doesn't have a lot to offer outside of fishing and hunting, but Larry and Gilda keep the store stocked with essentials and keep you informed about thing going on the in the area. This year they even started an Ice Cream Truck and let me tell you the Ice Cream is Fabulous! People come from all around for tasty treats. They also host a weekly music jam session. Most of the players are locals that are wonderful players but campers who are passing through also join in. All playing levels are encourage to join in. I am a beginning player and they welcomed me in. Each week playing with this great group has made me a better player. An added bonus they built a Dollar General this summer right on Hwy 12 where you turn to go into Summit. It is sure an added bonus to be able to get those needed items without having to drive.I highly suggest you stop over here for a night or more you won't be sorry.

If you are camping in eastern South Dakota, this should be your campground, County Line in Summit, SD. The owners and staff are so accommodating, friendly and feel like family. I certainly plan to see them again. There is a great dairy museum to the east that has amazing cheese. Beautiful lakes all around, fantastic art gallery South, heritage museum to the west. You couldn't find a better location. We fell in love with this place and very highly recommend it.

UPDATE: County Line Campground has grown quite a bit since we first stayed here 5 years ago. We enjoy the quiet atmosphere. It is located just off of I-29 in Summit, South Dakota. It's easy on and off of the interstate. Calling for reservations is a good idea. The folks who check you in have always been nice and helpful. We travel with a 40 ft. 5th wheel and our sites have always accommodated us nicely, I think most sites are pull thrust and we have always had full hook-ups. Our internet works well here, the campground has their internet as well.

Very nice and well maintained camoground. Perfect for a stopover on our way south. The bathroom/shower facilities were excellent. Very friendly owners, too! We will definitely consider this spot for our next trip south from Northern Minnesota.

We stayed at County Line in the way up north and the way back south. This photo is of spot 0...the last spot they had but gave us. Dave was excellent help getting us pulled in and lined up both times. Bob helped me when I was missing a screw and needed to put a panel back together w some wire. Super friendly. Easy access from the highway and far enough away you can sleep without a ton of highway noise. Full hookups. Will stay here again! (Call ahead if booking...they are busy!)

Larry the owner is super nice and knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. A extremely talented artist. The campground couldn't be more quiet at night. I would recommend this to all to check out. And I hated to leave.

This gem was so much fun!We had a site beside the gravel road and after about 30 minutes when locals drove and kicked up dust, we got moved .. thanks.A vintage RV rally was so much fun even though we don't have a vintage RV.Music each night, ice cream truck and the fellowship with others was great.Restrooms: The three bath and shower combinations were clean and roomy.Dog-friendliness: We don't have a dog but many of the other campers did and they were responsible to clean up after their pets.Picnic area: They had a huge white tent up all weekend not sure if it is up all the time. It was a good meeting place.

Friendly owners and staff. Large sites with well kept grounds and restrooms. Great ice cream served from a vintage truck! Music on Wednesdays is a lot of fun! Near park and not far off the highway.Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome on a leash.

They were very friendly, and made sure we were comfortable. Drive through sites, not cement, mixed with dirt and gravel. They have restrooms and a laundry area. They have books & movies to borrow. Also a small shop of snacks, drinks, pizza, and fish bait. A plus is they have an ice cream truck up front that my kids loved. The owners also gave my 16 yr old a job while there! They do not have a dog park, but are dog friendly! There is a park near the rv park. Dollar general and a truck stop is down the street if you need items, since it is a small town and about a half hour to Walmart. If I'm in the area again, I will come back.

Very nice clean park. Larry was so very accommodating to us since we were traveling with dogs. He made sure we had an excellent shaded spot to keep them comfortable after very hot travel day. Very convenient right off hwy 29, highly recommend.

I am staying here while I am working in south dakota, I am enjoying my stay here, the owners and staff are very friendly, helpful when u need info, I had a roof vent leak and I called them and asked if they knew of someone that could come out seal it they gave name and number of someone, you can pay by the month or week or days. They have full service pull through spots, I would come back here to camp for work or just a get away..thank you for a wonderful stay. I would recommend this camp ground to friends and family.....

People should know that the campground is not located directly on a lake but is located close to good fishing waters... Also the campground is owned by very wonderful people that know how to keep the campers coming back again and again....we have been to many different camping areas and I've got to say that we had a better time and more laughs these last few days then we have had for a long time. It's kept clean....

The owners are super friendly, nice park, not fancy, but more than adequate. Clean, easy in & out, even for big rigs. Hook-ups are good and where they should be; water pressure and quality excellent. Wifi way above average. County Line is an automatic stop for us.

The previous review is correct- it is a hidden gem! Small campground, perfect for a bit of peace and quiet. Sites were nicely sized, and facilities clean. We wish we could have stayed longer. The owners were extremely pleasant, serving coffee and breakfast in the morning!

We only stayed 1 night but what a hidden gem! The couple looking after it were sooo friendly! The washrooms are AWESOME...JUST AS IF YOU ARE AT HOME! Individual rooms with a toilet/sink and shower which are kept very, very clean. The campground is nothing special but everything is so neat and tidy that you forget there are no trees or other amenities. There is a laundry and would you believe it....a continental breakfast. I would defiantly keep this management cpl. as they do such a good job....as if they owned it themselves. Neighbourhood is nice to walk around and a BBQ restaurant right across the street. Which we were told would deliver to the park. Can't beat that!July 2014

Better than I expected. Grounds immaculate. Very friendly host. Very quiet. Slept like a baby. Noticed a newer review regarding difficulty using power hookups. I stayed in my 5th wheel (2016 Wolf Pack Toy Hauler) with mid mount hookups, no problem. No extensions or turning around needed. Would love to stay here again. UPDATE: Traded off the 5th Wheel and instead hit a 41 foot Diesel pusher. I wouldn't have a problem staying here in my new unit either.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The campground was well kept and all hookups were in very good working condition. The bathroom/shower was clean and plenty of hot water. I would stay again if my travels bring me that way.

We just stayed one night but the spots have a nice amount of space around them and are plenty long to leave the towed vehicle connected. Host/Owners were very nice and helpful. The Wi-Fi worked well which was good to keep an eye on the summer storms. We would definitely stay again. Thanks!

Excellent owners. They try to help you however they can. Bathrooms are clean, spacious and never run out of hot water. Wi-fi can drop occasionally due to a lot of overlapping private networks from all of the RVs.

County Line is one of the best over night places we have stayed. Location is close to highway, but far enough away not to hear trucks all night long. The sites are layed out perfectly and are spacious and level. One of the few places where the WiFi actually stays on! I can t say enough good things about this place. The owners are gracious and even shared homegrown tomatoes with us.
