I brought a 2017 Volvo s60 there a few years ago due to some brake humming I did not notice on test drive. I didn't like the noise from a certified low mileage vehicle, and I needed to make a funeral in Chicago the next day. Needed a fix ASAP. I am sub-amateur at best when it comes to diagnosing issues, so I knew taking a chance on a smaller family-run shop could exceed expectations or end up satisfied with the work even though you know you just got up sold on something. And there are other good shops in Sioux Falls. But this place's reviews were so good (and not paid for), that many people saying such good things of their own volition had to mean at least something. And I was near 41st and Minn so I did a search near me for car repair. Didn't even call, was close enough to just pull up. Explained the situation and-long story short- ended up having the best experience I've ever had, be it purchasing or repairing to everything in between. It took half a day, and they even drove over to Graham Volvo and got OEM parts straight from Volvo just to be safe for my trip and didn't up charge me for it. He could have tacked on hundreds by doing that for name brand parts. He ate the cost because felt bad that he didn't get a chance to fully detail it and clean up the outside to his usual standard. Unreal.He just said he appreciated that I chose them and that he hopes I'll come back. These guys deserve some sort of award for adhering to their stated goal and for their iron clad truth telling.its not even in their DNA to try to upsell you. They'll tell you to wait and you don't need yet if it isn't a safety concern. They present the options. Explain them well. They make sure you know there won't be any surprises. But if one pops up right away I do believe they will rectify it correctly and fairly, It's simple stuff, but business integrity seems so antiquated as of today you're almost shocked when you're on the receiving end of it. Thanks to this snail business of real professionals.

While driving home after some vehicle repairs (rear ended), there was a hard thud and the pull-over-NOW (red engine) light came on. The first place I could get to was going to charge me a $100 diagnostics fee just to borrow their code reader. I opted to drive side streets and considered a tow, but thankfully Abe's Brake Service was right around the corner. Abe was a savior that day ... and couldn't accept any form of payment I had ready. He trusted me to come back the next day and didn't want to accept any extra as tip. Everyone I ever sent his way mentioned how great they thought the service was.Years later, I needed brake work done and was pretty bummed when I realized the place was gone. I hoped maybe I could still get the same service there and it turns out ... YEP! Abe retired, but his son took over the shop and provides the same fantastic service. He told me exactly what work needed to be done, how long that work could be ignored, and offered options to reduce the overall cost for each task needed.This guy clearly has a passion for his trade (and hobbies). He even taught me how my brakes work and explained some differences between my vehicle and others vehicles of today.There's much more I could say, but the bottom line is that this is where you go if you care about quality and honesty.Service: Brakes

I can 100% recommend this business. From the initial phone call and estimate to the final brake installation and payment the process was smooth and exactly what Joe said it was going to be. The professionalism of this place is unmatched. I thought I would need front brakes but it turned out to be the rear ones and they had the honesty and integrity to let me know I still had two years left on the front ones which saved me a bigger bill. When the front brakes need replaced they already have my business. Will be taking the girlfriends vehicle their too. Prices can t be beat either.Service: Brakes

I just can't say enough how amazing this place is. I highly recommend going here to at least get a second quote. They are a family run business with workers that care about your car. They want to fix it not just replace parts left and right hoping that fixes your problem like other suspension shops in town. Thank you guys for the years of always getting a fair price and never having to go back with the same issue you always fix it the first time and that makes you guys a Diamond in the rough for Sioux Falls repair shops.Service: Steering & suspension repair

This is the only place I will trust with my brakes from now on. Joe is a stand up guy and knows the value of good work and being honest about it. Where a major dealership in town quoted me 600 at an attempt to fix it, Joe found the actual problem and saved me 500 of that. I highly recommend.

I first went to The Brake Center almost 10 years ago, then it was Abe's Brakes. He was friendly and professional but also very personable. Prices are the best in town! I recently returned a few months ago with my newer car knowing how great they were in the past. I talked with Joe, he is also friendly and super knowledgeable. It was truly a joy working with him. 4 brakes & 4 rotors cheaper than multiple other brake service places in town. Check them out, give them a call. I recommend them over anyone around.

They were able to get my car in the same day I called them for new brake pads on the front 2 wheels and resurfaced both rotors. It took them about 1.5 hours like they said it would take. I've been driving my car for 2 days now after the service and haven't had any issues. They were quick, reliable and friendly. Their price was comparable with other places as well.

My husband and I recently brought our Grand Marquis in for a repair. Unbeknownst to us the previous owner made shoddy altercations with wrong parts muscled in and other random home-job "fixes". My husband had nothing but praise for Joe - from his kindness to his work ethic. He went the extra mile to fix our vehicle. Thank you so much, Joe! Had the best experience with this shop! Not only was the price lower than any other shop I checked, Joe was also the most pleasant person I've ever dealt with at an auto shop. Explained everything they did and the parts they used and went above and beyond taking care of my car. Even explained the weird clunking noise I'd been trying to ignore, but not to try to sell me anything! Just to reassure me that it wasn't serious and would be a cheap fix when it eventually needs it. Coming here feels like having a trusted family friend check out your vehicle. Absolutely wonderful people running an honest business. I'm so glad I found this gemService: Brakes

A brake line started leaking on my truck while I was driving it and I had it towed to The Brake Center after a quick online search based on the reviews and a cold call with Abe. Joe and Abe were great to work with and straight forward from the start. They got my truck into the shop as quickly as they could and got me back on the road. It was not an easy fix and I am grateful for their thorough explanation of the work that was completed and their transparency with the issues they encountered and why they replaced the parts they did. Joe and Abe are knowledgeable and hardworking while still being super friendly and easy to talk to. I will be going back for any future repairs or advice.

I don t normally write reviews, but I was blown away by the staff at The Brake Center that I just had to. The gentleman that helped me was incredibly friendly, and I genuinely felt as if my business was wanted. They completed my front brake repair same day, and even parked my car inside their garage because I was unable to retrieve it that day. When I picked up the car everything was sanitized and the gentleman wore gloves the whole time. He explained exactly what they did and why they did it. He even gave me some tips on preventative measures to help my brakes last longer. I will never take my vehicles anywhere else as long as The Brake Center is open.

Abe and Joe run a top notch business. They are honest, friendly, and do great work. They have done brake work on two of our vehicles in the past and we ve had no issues. We recently purchased a used car and the brakes were squeaking. Turns out the discs were a little rusty but no repairs were needed. There was no charge for the diagnosis or their time. Exceptional customer service!

My wife was recently told she needed brakes on her vehicle. I saw the reviews on The Brake Center and decided I would try it out. I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Joe! He was very friendly and told us he checked over our brakes and they have about another 15,000 miles on them and then said it was no charge! When I need brakes done, there is only one place in town that I will be going and that is The Brake Center. Thank you Joe for giving us some peace of mind.

We rolled into town with badly grinding brakes and needed them fixed before we continued to the mountains. They were able to fix our brakes quickly, were very friendly, and basically saved the second day of our western vacations. These folks are family owned and the best of the best. I highly recommend them and wish they were closer to home in the Cities.

My husband and I took our truck in because the brakes were grinding. We hadn't owned the truck very long and didn't realize how bad they were. It of course cost us a bunch of money because they were REALLY bad but we are very pleased with the service and the quality we received. It's a small business and I highly recommend them. The brake center is a neighborhood business near me. While I have never had my car repaired there, (I like to do my own repairs usually) they have given me helpful advice before on a couple of occasions. They are a very friendly business, and always seem to be busy. I actually look forward to using their services if the need arrises.

Brought my car in to have my brakes looked at, long over due. Brakes and rotors needed to be replaced and then they found a faulty caliper and replaced that. They were nice enough to show and explain what was causing the problem and what they did to fix it. I had a time crunch and needed my car back the same day and they had no problem with that. customer service was above and beyond what I expected and my car is now working like a dream. Highly recommend their services if you are looking for timely, customer oriented, quality service. Pricing was also very reasonable.

This is the only place we take our vehicles for brakes. It has been family owned for many years and is now going on its second generation of fame ownership.Along with the outstanding customer service comes unbeatable prices and the highest quality workmanship!They have also started adding new technologies to thier shop and I believe they now offer more than brake services. This is a huge step forward adding laser precision while still holding onto the down to earth family approach.They are far above what you will find anywhere else in town for brake service.Thanks Abe, Theresa and Joe for everything you do!

I found this shop off Google and s he did a really good job walking her through whT was being done , whT And why things were bad if they were a safety issue and so much more , he also did not try to up sell her on things that didn't need to be done , checked several other parts and told her the condition. , I'm really impressed with the service and the price we will be back soon for the rear shocks , great job and thank you for your quality service and the price he said before was the price at the end was the sameService: Brakes

Abe and his family helped us while we were stranded in Sioux Falls with a broken brake line. They went above and beyond, staying late so we were able to safely drive 90 miles back home. We have taken that same vehicle back for additional work. Our vehicles will be taken the 90 miles to Sioux Falls to The Brake Center. We can't say enough about their pricing, the quality of the repairs done and the outstanding customer service.

The Brake Center should be commended for their honesty and integrity. I was told I needed new rotors and brake pads by another shop. The Brake Center told me I had another 15,000 miles left on my pads and explained everything FOR FREE. I'll be back for my brakes ! Practice's like this are a truly rare occasion anymore. Way to go Brake Center !
