While hunting in the Black Hills my truck's transmission was damaged and not able to be driven the 300 miles home. Not knowing any repair shops in Rapid City ,I called many of which none were able to even look at it for weeks. Finally a friend recommended Sumners. They understood my dilemma ,checked out the problem and searched extensively for the obsolete part on the internet, finding it and repaired my truck in as short of time as possible. I would recommend Sumners to all. In my opinion, they go the extra mile for people for a fair price.

I w traveling from Olympia, WA to Rapid City, and the transfer case went out on my 2006 Tahoe (my sweetheart!). I called Monday morning and gave them my self diagnoses. Within 20 minutes he called me back, had located a used unit, gave me an estimate, and told me he could have it done for me SAME DAY!He was done on time, did a transmission service to boot and still came in at budget.Super professional employees, nice clean shop, no issues at all.Cannot recommend these guys enough. No, we are not related - just a weary traveler who got a really good deal when a lot of shops would see that as an opportunity to hose you. Great customer service! They explained it so I would understand and without any condescension. Thoroughly tested and made sure we were fixed before we left. We called multiple shops and all were backed up 2 weeks or more, but Sumner got us in.

While on vacation, the drive shaft on our Jeep went out. We called a couple of places and they were all booked. Called Sumner s and they got us right in. The parts had to be overnighted, but the work was done the next day at a fair price. Great service and affordable. Aaron even called us a couple days later to see how things were going. Definitely recommend whether you are local or traveling.

As I was driving through the midwest for a family road trip my car started making a weird noise when it breaks. Aaron and his team welcomed us, fixed my car in no time and we were able to continue our journey to the beautiful SD National Parks.Service was amazing and so efficient. I recommend you to stop here for any of your car troubles.

On our way back to the upper peninsula from Wyoming and the world championship hillclimb and U-joints were making a lot of noise. We called in the morning as soon as they opened and they were able to get us in and back on the road home in a few hours! I came here for diagnosis. They said they needed to preform an Air induction cleaning and replace a Transmission Mount. They had to order the Mount online which took about 4 days to arrive. I paid $550 but couldn't pay the full amount then, due to bank issues. So they kept my car in their shop, which I completely understand. I didn't get my car back until about 5 days later. 3 days after that, I am still noticing the same issues I brought the car in for; starting problems and jerking when shifting. I am also noticing new problems, like a sudden drop to 600rpm when idling and vibration when I drive. But these happen uncommonly. It's almost like they didn't just not fix my car but made my problems worst. Automotive repair shops are known to scam people. Which is why I like to procrastinate when it comes to repairing my car. I need a trustworthy mechanic shop that won't screw me over.

These guys are GOOD TO GO! While every other auto shop was weeks out they took my vehicle in and said it would be a few days until they could look at. I had it towed and the next day before schedule not only did they find the problem but they repaired it for a heck of a price and checked the stuff I asked them to check. I called to have a problem diagnosed with my car. They told me that my rotors got too warm and needed to be replaced. So I of course told them to move forward with it. However this didn t even begin to fix the issue as my car still has the same issue. Received a text about how there services we working on my car so let them know it didn t fix the issue, I got 0 response. Hundreds of dollars later they couldn t give me a direct answer nor did they even begin to fix the issue.

I was having an issue with my alignment on my BMW M3 that has aftermarket suspension parts. I called a handful of shops and nobody wanted to touch a euro car with out of spec alignment. While calling around I was provided Sumners as a recommendation from a local Euro shop. They were able to get me in same day which was a major plus!I had a great experience working with Sumners. They are a family run business with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They went above and beyond in taking care of my requests; going as far as adjusting the subframe in order to perfect the castor. The owner personally worked with the tech and test drove my vehicle to be sure it was up to his standards and spent a good 20 minutes schooling me on the meanings of various suspension adjustments.All in all Sumners has earned my business. I would return again if I m in the need of a repair and I would recommend.Thank you all!

We are from Indiana visiting out west and in Wyoming our air conditioning stopped working. Come to find out my compressor was completely shot. With it being in the mid 90s & 18hrs away from home, we tried calling probably 20 places between Wyoming and South Dakota but no one could get us in with short notice. We called Elite Automotive & they were able to get us in next morning! They were reasonably priced, did great work, got it done in a reasonable amount of time & super easy to deal with! We very much appreciate their willingness to get us in with such short notice due to our situation!Service: A/C installation & repair

We were visiting and in need of a battery replacement and A/C recharge. In Custard where we staying, no auto shop would help us until 2 to 3 weeks later. This company came to our need and made us a priority! They even let us have our dog stay with us vs exposing her to heat stress conditions outside at 103 degrees. They did a superior job in getting us up and going and saving our vacation! Thanks you with the most humble gratitude! In town during Sturgis Bike Rally when someone noticed my rear axle seal leaking. Called a few shops but told can't get me in for 3 weeks.Sumners offered an appointment in 5 days. Their tech agreed, seal needed replacing and took care of the job in under 2 hours for a super fair price; been a few days and my 2016 Jeep JKU feels great, no ongoing issue.I'm sure Sumners could've charged a premium given that I'm an out-of-towner in need of help during Rally Week but instead, treated me really well - like a local :)Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had some issues with a water pump/coolant leak! Gave sumners a call and they were able to fit me in right away! I would like to give Bruce Riter a thank you for his hard work and knowledge! He was very understanding of the issue at hand and did a wonderful job with answering my questions! I will continue business here in the future!!

Wonderful shop! Great guys! Amazing service! My car quit starting randomly one day, and I didnt know what to do. Started checking into shops around town, and came across Elite.Best choice hands down! I had nothing but a good experience with them and am so glad they were the shop I chose.My car took a little time to finish, but it was a tricky fix and they got it done right! Thats what matters! They were excellent about keeping me updated on the status of my vehicle and the repairs.Big thank you to Andy, for putting in the extra time, work, and effort to figure out the issue with my car and getting it running again!15/10 would absolutely recommend this shop, for you and all your vehicle needs! -Taya

We were in South Dakota on vacation when the wheel barring went out on our truck which was pulling our camper. Dakota understand the importance of us getting this fixed right away and he took care of the entire situation! We were able to get the problem fixed and back on the road in a very timely manner. I can say enough about the service Arron provided us. On vacation and pulling our camper into the black hills the trailer breaks went out on our truck. It was literally making me physically sick over the weekend thinking about towing our camper back out without brakes. Scrambled Monday morning to find someone, anyone that could fix the issue. Finally after talking with several major car shops and being told two weeks one of them referred me to Elite Automotive. I talked with Arron and he said bring it in around noon and I ll take a look at it. After a quick 30 minute diagnostic he knew exactly what the issue was and said give him an hour so to get the parts and he would have us back in the road. Don t look anywhere else if you need you vehicle serviced. Take it to elite automotive. Amazing service and fair pricing.

My power locks and windows haven't been working and I was getting the run-around on whether it was mechanical or electrical. I was feeling stuck on where to even go. Took my pickup to ELITE and got it fixed the same day for a very reasonable price. Friendly staff and no pressure for any extras.
