Follow up: my husband took his truck to a different shop. They identified the leak which was coming from a part R n J installed they installed it without an O ring! A couple hundred dollars at another shop for an O ring My husband had issues with changing out his turbo (bolt too tough to get) and was towed to this business by a friend. He was informed the job would be done by Tuesday, Tuesday came, no call. Husband called the next day, was told the parts weren t there. Husband called Thursday as he had not heard anything, they told him it would be done that day. End of the day, no notification of it being done. Finally got the truck back Friday (after husband called) and he noticed the turbo was leaking oil, brought back to them following Monday, they said they forgot a part. Put part in, said fixed. Next day, the turbo is still leaking and continues to leak. The customer service was poor and clearly they don t know what they re doing. We are bringing it to another shop to get this fixed once and for all. Won t go there again, do not recommend.

Our truck started having issues on a cross country trip and RNJ were the only ones that were able to take a look at it. Rick was super easy going and made the situation less stressful with his humor. They were able to take a look at it that evening, get the part we needed and we were back on our way the next morning. Fantastic family as well. His daughter was able to help us find a hotel to stay at, called a cab, and recommended a great place to eat near the hotel. Would absolutely recommend if you ever come across issues and you're near Rapid City.

Known Rick for 8+ yrs now. He's always treated me right and fair. To date he hasn't had a misdiagnosis on any of my vehicles, even when other shops couldn't figure things out (how I met Rick in the first place). Straight forward with the answers. Turbos, transmissions, suspension, electrical issues, all been repair or replaced by RNJ and no complaints.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Engine repair, Transmission repair

Rick was very friendly, and my vehicle is running great now. Trans had to be replaced so it was pricy but thats hownot would be anywhere. He got it done in a really good time frame and all the staff were very nice

During a mammoth road trip, the diesel engine in my motorhome was reduced to an idle. RNJ was the only shop in the Rapid City area that would look at it right away. Upon limping the rig to his shop, Rick came out to meet me on a Sunday (Mother s Day no less!). He started to diagnose the problem right then, and had it fixed by noon the next day. Not only did he solve the problem, he saved the trip. I m very grateful for his expertise and his willingness to help beyond expectation.Service: Auto exhaust system repair

I was 2000 miles from home and my f150 blew a spark plug out of the cylinder head. I got ahold of Rick after looking his Business over online and after talking to him, I realized he isn't a shade tree mechanic but a master of his trade. He installed a sleeve in the stripped out head and I drove home 2000 miles 75 mph and never missed a beat!! Very good at his craft

Quick and accurate response. My truck runs great now. Had it to other shops, I would pay them to 'fix' something and then have to go back because something else was wrong. These guys fixed the first time.

Rick was very knowledgeable, and took time to try to get me back on the road. I had broken down with my wife and two dogs 30 minutes outside of the city, after getting a tow, and calling a bunch of shops, the tow truck driver called Rick. He got us in just before close, and Rick worked past close to get it done. Rick went above and beyond, and I highly recommend him.

Rick saved our vacation. We were stranded in Rapid City with our 32ft RV and a bad starter. We called 15 places that couldn't help us. RNJ was able to get us in and out with a new starter in under 2 hours. He had a very calming demeanor and the price was better than expected. Thank you. I highly recommend RNJ for all your truck repairs.

I was in Rapid City last week, pulling a 5th wheel trailer. Due to a repair back home, that wasn't done correctly, my truck was losing transmission fluid in copious amounts. Rick got the right part and came in before normal business hours to fix my truck! He saved my vacation. He even called me back home to make sure the repair was good. Had a noise while driving, called Rick and though it is the middle of July and everyone is booked up, called and Rick had me stop by and go for a test drive. He determined it to be a wheel bearing and fixed it with in a day! 5 stars to him and his awesome staff!

He inflates his labor hours. He said he worked on my car for 3 or 4 hours and later charged me for 7.5 hours. We had an issue with the fuel system because of the type of gas we had in the car. Rick replaced the fuel pump and then idiotically put the exact same gas back in the car, causing further problems. Not only is he dishonest, he's also incapable. I'd highly recommend going somewhere else.

We stopped in with no advanced notice as we we're passing through town on a cross-country camping road trip. We had electrical issues with our RV. Despite having a full shop of vehicles to work on, Rick squeezed us in. The RV fought back but Rick and his team conquered the issue and put us back on the road that afternoon. This is a family run business. I highly recommend this auto/truck repair shop!

Rick was amazing. We broke down (transmission failure) climbing up to see Mt. Rushmore. Rick let us stay the night in our trailer on his property and had is back on the road the next day.
