Made an appointment as we were traveling thru SD to get the fuel filter changed. Wound up getting an oil change as well. Very knowlegeable folks and easy to work with.However, after changing out my truck's FCA and sending unit (only 3100 miles later) I decided to do the fuel filter as well to be thorough. In doing so, I found that my truck still has the original fuel filter housing and an old-style filter. RDS said that I already had an upgraded housing so the filter change wouldn't be an issue.It's clear from the state of the housing and filter that it was not changed even though I was charged for it.EDIT:Jackie @ RDS did some sleuthing and tracked me down to make this right. It was an error on the technician's part and they owned it (hey, everyone makes mistakes).I just KNEW that this was a solid shop with a stand-up team from my first interaction with them. You can see it in their reviews and this is why I took my truck to them in the first place. I was very surprised by the filter and it actually hurt a bit to write the review. However, I will not hesitate to use them again the next time we go through Rapid City!

We were on a trip from Wyoming to Minnesota and we had a turbo line blow off, Rapid Diesel went above and beyond to get us on the road right away!!! Amazing customer service!!!!

Our truck broke down between Rapid City and Hot Springs on Aug 28th 2023. I called around to diesel repair services and no one could look at it till the end of Sept. I called Brandan at Rapid Diesel and he said to tow it there and he would look at. The next day they had it fixed. Thank you Brandan and your crew for getting us back on the road so fast and we could finish our journey. Brad B.

While recently traveling from out of state we had trouble with our diesel truck. Called several places, Jackie was the only one to offer solutions over the phone, we were able to get it going and were able to enjoy our vacation. Thank you Jackie for taking the time to help troubleshoot!

My pickup died on the highway on my way to rapid. I towed it into rapid diesel. The next morning I received a call and they got it right in. The staff was very knowledgeable and got me back on the road short order. Great people great service I would use them again

Called Brandon, the service writer yesterday and had me in the very next day. Problem was resolved in an hour and a half at a very reasonable price. Customer service was outstanding. I'll be coming back for all my service at Rapid Deisel.

The absolute best customer service I have received!! When traveling through Rapid City, I will be sure to have our diesel serviced here again. Josh s customer service was outstanding and Jackie did her best to get what we needed done when we needed it they were outstanding and I m sure their techs are as well (didn t meet them in person but they sure delivered!)

Best service I have ever experienced at a repair shop. Friendly staff and reasonable repair cost. While traveling through South Dakota my truck broke down a hour outside of Rapid City on a Friday afternoon. After calling around to a few shops who couldn't even look at my truck until Monday, I called Rapid Diesel Services. The gal that answered (Jacquie) said they would be able to look at it and if they had the parts would do their best to get the truck fixed that day. They didn't have the part needed to repair my truck but Jacquie made some calls and was able to get the part from another place. The mechanic on staff was able to make the repairs and get us back on the road before dark. I highly recommend this shop and staff!

Last week, when we were halfway into a 2000 mile trip, the turbo on our truck quit working. The kind and efficient folks at Rapid Diesel were able to work us in immediately and with parts on hand, fixed the actuator and got us back on the road in a few hours. We very much appreciated the professional and customer-focused service. Thank you to manager Jackie and the team!

We are on the road, we had an issue with the engine light turning on , called a few shops and could help me in a week or two, Called Rapid Diesel , stopped in and the gentleman behind the desk went out in the shop ,came out with what he needed and we were out of there in 20 minutes. Small caring shop with a heart of gold

THE BEST! This was the best automotive repair experience I have ever had in my 50 years of ownership. Great people open and honest from the start. No BS. Got everything repaired that multiple trips to the dealerships had failed to complete.

Absolutely the most amazing shop I ve ever taken my vehicle to. I am a mechanic but sometimes you don t have the tools a shop dose. I was in town for vacation and had an issue with my truck. The customer service I received was just absolutely great. They diagnosed and got the problem fixed under the time they quoted and under the price the quoted. It s amazing how well they worked and honestly got me back home. Whenever I have an issue and I m in SD I will be taking my vehicle here. Sean thank you for everything you and your team did.

One happy camper! My little 1987 Toyota camper needed its oil, coolant transmission fluid changed after its first long run in several years. Was directed here by an RV place that only serviced Diesel engines. Was impressed by the reviews and even more by the service. I called on a Friday and Sean was able to give me an appointment first thing Monday morning. We were given a loaner- a little diesel Jeep - to run around in while they worked on our rig. Was impressed by the rapport between the staff and regular customers. Perry, a master mechanic, worked on our rig, and took extra time to make sure everything was working perfectly. The bill was very fair, especially given how much time they spent on my little rig. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or come back next trip to Rapid City from New Jersey.

Sean and his crew are awesome. They take great pride and very knowledgeable on all vehicles. My truck is running better that it ever has. They explain everything about what they are doing and why. Great prices, great people and great shop. Will definitely return here for all my work.

Had engine installed on f350. Excellent job, friendly techs and staff, good follow up. Got it done pretty fast. These guys, although pricey, know what they're doing. You get what you pay for.

While making our way to Tennessee we broke down in Rapid City, SD on Saturday. We tried other repair shops that couldn't get us in for over a week, did an internet search and found Rapid Diesel Service, showed up at their shop first thing Monday morning without an appt. and they worked us in that day. They went above and beyond even shuttling us to and from our hotel and had us back on the road the next morning. Reasonable rates and great service. Thanks to Sean, great service manager and Dan who ordered parts and chauffeured us!

After getting severely ripped off by another shop in town (feel free to read my review of Eddie's Truck Stop), we came here in hopes that the damage made by the previous shop could be remedied. We were traveling, with no where else to go, already frustrated and distrusting. If only we had come here first! They diagnosed the problem, fixed what the other shop failed to identify as the real issue, showed us the diagnostic report and clearly explained everything, they even cleaned out our whole fuel rail. When we picked up our previously struggling Sprinter van, it was running perfectly! No bullshit, no run-around, just good, knowledgable, honest service. Thank you Rapid Diesel, for getting us on the road again!

Having the CEL on Ford truck is not what you want when on vacation. But Shawn at rapid diesel got me worked into the schedule. They replaced the def fluid tank and I was on my way in a few hours. Very knowledgeable people and a fair price.

Went to the pump shop to get a small part for an injection pump, the employee said he has a bunch in the back in a box but for the price of them it is not worth his time to dig through them, he told me to buy off the internet instead. I have been getting parts here for 15 years and they just lost a long time customer.

I called when my truck broke down and need service. No one answered, so I called again. Left a voicemail and never got a call back. Went to accelerated diesel instead, and would highly recommend.
