We had a fantastic experience here. The employees were extremely efficient, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Most of all, unlike our last rental car experience (which was absolutely horrible), they were honest! We paid exactly what we expected with no tricks or attempts at deception. We even got a free upgrade. Judy Gillaspie was working the counter when we picked the car up. She treated us like highly valued customers, trying to accommodate us any way she could and telling us to please call her if we have any issues at any point, saying she would take care of them. We had the car and were on our way in no time. The car itself was great. The man working the desk on our return (whose name we didn't catch) was professional and efficient as well. I wish all my rental car experiences were like this one. (After the awful experience referenced above) I will be trying to use National as much as possible going forward as long as our experiences keep going like this one.

Quick note about my National car rental at Rapid City - business trip the week before Rally started and finished with Judy handling the pickup & drop off. Process was quick and professional. As a business traveler, this is a big plus. On a personal note, Judy also managed my sense of humor - very good experience.Continue success.

Cole and Madison are awesome! Very friendly and helpful. Might be confusing when returning your car, but just remember the stall it is parked in and if possible the final mileage and fuel levels. I forgot the final mileage but Madison said that was fine. Great experience here!

Upon checking in, the employee treated me differently than the guy before me. I've not had this happen when renting a vehicle.I reserved a full-size car, which typically gets me most of any vehicle I want, using my company's benefit.However, it was basically that I have this car, a Nissan Altima. I have no idea what that is... "If you want something else, it'll be $20 extra." Just so happens that this car is a low-profile sporty car, NOT a full-size car.Knowing I had just pushed my husband there in a wheelchair, there is no way I would have put us in what is a very low to the ground car.Then, he told me to "try and not get the car dirty"... ummmm, huh?Upon returning, I dealt with a different employee who asked me how everything went with the car. I told him that the car was NOT a full-size car, and he agreed. My husband had a really hard time getting in and out of the car.

I understand disasters happen but the way they dealt with me was terrible. My company has a large account and rents a lot of cars. I travel for business and so I need a car when I travel, it s not for leisure it s for my living. They tell me they could give me a car in 24 hrs and provide a shuttle to my hotel. That doesn t work when I have appointments all day. So I have to pay 3 times as much at Hertz for the only car left then National just cancels my reservation all together and provides me nothing for the inconvenience. The worst part about all of it they had another lot in Rapid City with cars that just maybe they could have shuttled me there to get a car. Like I said I understand disasters happen and I anticipate to be affected by something like that but when their insurance covers their cars, they could at least reimburse me something for the troubles or just maybe call another location to help out. Even when I tried to call the Rapid City Airport location they didn t answer, Very disappointed in how the situation was handled. Likely won t use them in Rapid city airport again. I ll use other locations because everywhere other than Rapid City Airport has been great and I d prefer National just not in Rapid City Airport.

I made a PREPAID reservation with a credit card on Priceline for this location. I went to the counter and was told that there were no cars available (even in a different class). There was no recourse I was given, a curt apology but nothing and I was informed it was my job to contact Priceline to get a refund for the clear lack in communication between Priceline and National. Essentially, I was told by National that it was not their problem. Priceline, when contacted, told me that they could contact National to confirm that no rental was given, so they would not immediately issue a refund. It is unacceptable that National says that they are not responsible for 3rd party errors, but they appear to have no trouble making cars available through the sites, even when none are available. It is also unacceptable that Priceline and National cannot manage to track inventory.I would add that this is not a trivial problem in this airport. There is no way to leave the airport without many miles walk, and no other options are available. Overall, I am quite dissatisfied with the failure of both Priceline and National in this matter, but National should honor reservations that their system says are available. The result is that i have a rental car I paid hansomely for, but do not have.

We were very pleased with our National car rental. They were the most affordable of all rental companies at the airport. We had to wait about 20 min on arrival for the car to be ready but otherwise no other issues. Our mid sized SUV was a Jeep Compass which we drove over 700 miles through the course of a week and it was perfect for our family of 5 (including 3 car seats). When hurricane ida delayed us a day they easily extended the reservation within the same weekly rate. Highly recommend!!

National is fine, but this service desk did not answer their phone during my 27 minutes of calling at 8:45 a.m. on a Monday. Wanting to inquire about an item that was accidentally left in the car on Friday, I was unable to speak to a representative. I hope the employee enjoys my personal property.** EDIT **Thank you for the response, but I would have appreciated this energy being spent picking up the telephone when I called. I will not be following up with your customer service.

We arrived at the Rapid City Airport and waited in line for a while to get our car. Their was only one person working so it took a while. Many of the people in the airport were not wearing masks as well as some of the employees. This did not make me feel safe. The car was great though and drop off was easier.

I left my prescription sunglasses in a vehicle I rented (that's my fault) and contacted this rental office to see if they could find the sun glasses. Three times I was told they would look and call back after checking the vehicle. Instead of calling a fourth time just to be ignored I am submitting this review. I was a loyal customer and at the minimum I would have appreciated a call back. I'm looking forward to donating all of my points and if there are other rental car options (not National/Enterprise) I will rent from them.

Great service fro the counter people. Got a brand new Nissan Rouge. Very Nice. When returning the car, in RAP, for an early AM flight, no one was at the counter to turn in the car. So, I left the keys on the counter. Other rental agencies were open. They said National did not get in until 8:00 AM. No problems on the billing.

I am a member of the Emerald Club with National. I am treated so well! I picked up a car at Rapid City Airport and you can t just walk out and choose your car and leave from this site. You have to go to the desk to get it. Other than that, I had no problem. They gave me a great car to drive around the SD countryside with.

They were very methodical and conscientious about explaining the terms and conditions of the rental, and since it was South Dakota, even warned us about the possibility of hail damage. My dad really appreciated that, although we never saw hail the week we were in Rapid City. It was a good heads-up, anyway. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I love national car rental, a large part of that is because of the general ease of walking past the counter and just picking a car. Maybe this is why I found myself frustrated waiting in line at the counter at this location, patiently waiting my turn to talk to customer service and obtain my keys. It didn't help that the three people ahead of me didn't have reservations set up so they took longer to handle. Such is life.

Rented a car to drop off in Idaho. Not only did they wait for us at 1am because our flight was delayed, they gave us an extremely nice 4x4 that was awesome for the trip. Excellent service and unbeatable price... Less than half what the other car rentals asked

As a frequent traveler, I always like choosing my own car from the newest fleet of rental cars in the market. I never get stuck with sub par cars like when I rent with AVIS. I love the ease of jumping in the car at the airport and just driving away. National takes care of their executive elite customers; best car rental company by far.

Really Really helpful, kind listeners. The lady behind the counter was so helpful to us on the morning of February 28th. We didn't rent from National but she was incredibly helpful.

I rented a vehicle from National Car Rental in Rapid City, South Dakota for 2 days in July 2020. We did a lot of driving. The car was perfect and the service was outstanding and friendly. Way to go Rapid City!

Went there to trade in a car I rented in Utah for a bigger vehicle for 6 days and was told it would be another $1000 over what I had already paid for my rental. WTH!

The National agent recommended a Nissan Armada that really improved our site seeing adventure and comfort plus the unlimited mileage allowed us to travel more than we had originally planned. It was a great trip!

The representatives were extremely friendly but the wait time is horrendous. After you check in they have to walk clear out to their garage area, locate the vehicle, then drive it back. Took almost 25 minutes. I could not believe how long it took. Then the vehicles they gave some of my co-workers were ridiculous. They had so much hail damage.

Even though National states they have taken extra steps to clean and sanitize their vehicles, twice this week, in two different states, I ve gotten dirty vehicles. Sticky stuff, dirt, fingerprints, goop, fries, etc. clearly National just hangs a tag on the mirror and pretends they are cleaning the vehicles.I will say that the employee that helped me, seemed very embarrassed and quickly took care of the issue. I wish I could attach the pictures to this review.

Car was ok low miles,clean,ect. Staff was nice but with no give they have a lot full of cars but, My return time is 1 pm. (There open till 11pm.) I asked to pay for a few more hours and was told it would be an add. day oh well next time Avis.

Went to counter to return keys. Gave keys to young man in sport coat.He entered info never mentioned or asked for my name kept entering.I wanted verification. Had to ask what name he was using He asked Richard ? Didn t even provide full name. C mon man.

Not the most friendly staff to interact with. This is the only National counter without an executive isle that I've not gotten an option to upgrade my car. Every time I'm here it's a compact basic vehicle.

My friend had a reservation at 10pm and now is stuck at the Airport because nobody is there. It says that they close at 11:30 pm and people depend on you to be open and honor your commitment. Nobody answers the phone. The level of frustration is extremely high.

I am so disappointed in your company. Our flight was cancelled and you charged us over 400.00 for 1 extra day. You should be ashamed, this is price gouging and I am reporting your company to the BBB.

Upon arrival minivans and trucks are your chose. No employee assistance to accommodate your preference of vehicle. Existing the facility the employee ask if the vehicle was luxury parked . All vehicles with keys in them should be available.Spring is here now all vehicles should be cleaned and vacuum.
