I loyally used Rushmore Honda's service center for about 4 years now. Usually I am pretty satisfied with service quality and speed. They do charge a premium compared to other car shops in Rapid City. I have always been willing to pay the extra in exchange for the reliability.Today I dropped my car off at 9:50 AM for a simple oil change. I heard nothing for multiple hours. At Approximately 2:15 PM I called to try and learn what the heck is taking so long.They had just started working on my vehicle... That is an unacceptable timeframe for a simple oil change.I scheduled the appointment before hand. Which means I wasn't some walk in appointment. The car is a Honda CR-V which means they should be perfectly capable of completing the oil change in a timely manner.I could have done it myself in 1/4 the amount of time. This will be the last time I will be using the Honda service department.

Robin Martinez was outstanding. She was patient and very personable. Not only did she show me the vehicle I wanted to see, she also showed me all the other options on my list, even though she knew I wouldn't buy one. I had a great morning and when we visited with the manager, he was also super informative about snow tires and rims. The parts manager was also excellent. He was educated in each of the tires off consumer reports that I was interested in, listing pros and cons. I couldn't have been happier. We decided to go with a different vehicle but because of the outstanding customer service, we will be loyal customers of Rushmore Honda for servicing needs. Thank you for a great experience!

I was in a situation yesterday right before work when my tire pressure light came on, called you guys 10 minutes before you even opened and the guy on the phone was very nice saying he d check the pressure for me and sure enough I had a nail in my tire. They patched it up, aired my tires, and even checked for a part that was on recall for my car! I m so thankful I was close to you guys and was able to be serviced that quickly when I had to be at work! Everyone was so nice there, wanted to help me, everything! I get my car serviced here for oil changes and such, I only trust this place. They didn t even know I came here to get my car serviced on a regular basis and they still treated me like I was important! Thank you guys for all you do! My car appreciates it as well! Pass the word on to your team for me :)

We were on the way home from a 3100mile road trip, and got a flat in Sturgis. Even with a full schedule, they got us in right away and were able to get the tire patched and have us back on the road in record time! We are forever grateful! And for what its worth, if you have a small family, the Honda Fit makes a fantastic road trip car, we love it!Service: Tires

After a challenging first attempt to trade a car back in that wasn't to my taste, I was left feeling like I wasn't valued as a customer.Management followed up with me later to explain the situation and mediate.I'm glad to have a follow up from this business that made me feel like a valued customer.I'll do business again in the future with them.

I got an oil change and Multi point inspection,I was told I had a leak in the axle seal. $334.00. Made an appointment to fix it,a couple days later I brought my car in. I waited an hour thinking my car was being fixed. After an hour I was told they had the wrong part, should be 2 weeks. After 3 weeks of no update, no communication I took it to another mechanic(Belly Brothers Auto). They told me nothing was wrong, no damage, no leak. After 5 weeks still no part from Rushmore Honda, no update, no communication. BB Auto told me they could get the part in 1 to 2 days. So if Rushmore Honda tells you that you need repairs it would be wise to get a second opinion.

My wife and I had traveled from Michigan to rapid city. We were having problems with our GPS prior to arriving. Decided to stop in to menholt Honda to see if they could assist us. Dan and Jake from the sales team immediately and patiently took the time to decipher the problem and solved it for us. Outstanding customer service for out-of-towners. We were able to keep on our hectic schedule. Very impressed that they didn t just push us into the service department. Compliments to Denny menholt and his staff.

Recently bought a 2015 VW GTI from Denny Monholt Honda that within 24 hours of ownership threw a CEL due to misfiring. Called and spoke to the service department and was told "It must have been something that occurred once you drove it off our lot". Now I must spend more money to have it figured out which still hasn't been solved after new spark plugs and coils. I'm very disappointed that this car was sold in it's current state from a dealership with such a high reputation. Buyers of used cars, beware. On the other hand, the purchasing experience from start to finish was painless and quick.

My battery died in my car and caused my radio to need a code for it to work again. I went out to the dealership and a nice young man in the service department came to my rescue. I was out of there in a matter of minutes. Thank for the exceptional customer service

Lovely experience. I worked with Cory at Toyota. He did a masterful job finding the ideal trim level Odyssey for me. I can t recommend him enough! Paul in finance was very professional as well. Overall a wonderful experience.

We have multiple vehicles that we have purchased from various dealerships across town, and of all the local dealerships, this Honda dealer continues to shine above the rest. Many times this year we have needed emergency service due to maintenance needed, or recalls due, which would have halted our business, and the service department has come through for us every time. This hasn t been the case for the other large dealers. SO impressed. Thank You service team. Review update: April 2024. We used to love Rushmore Honda. We have bought 10+ vehicles here over the last 15 years. The vehicles are solid and Jason in the sales department is awesome but the service department has steadily gone down hill. Grossly misquoted wait times. Outsourcing windshield chips and replacement (after we purchased the glass chip dent plan) is inconvenient especially if you have an issue. They argued with us for a full day on who was accountable when an issue came up during our windshield replacement. They finally took care of it, as they should have, but damn. Not worth the headaches. Just traded our Honda for a Mazda. We are done with them.We have purchased several vehicles from Rushmore Honda. They have great customer service and we will buy again from them in the future.

Honda had a couple recalls that I needed to get done quickly because someone else was going to use my van and Denny Menholt Honda Service was awesome and let me drop off the van and they would do it when they could squeeze me in. I also needed a last minute oil change before a weeklong trip and they were very accommodating! I m sure this can t be done everyday because of how busy they can get but I was very thankful!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Service went smooth and done quickly. I keep all records for maintenance on my car and when after this visit tread depth on my car increased i figured i would ask questions. Went back in and service guy said would get depth gage and check. On paperwork all tires were 8. When we went out front was 6 back was 5. He wrote it off as a bent gage ect. But even a bent gage should have read 7 and 8 not 8 on all. I haul my kids in my car if i pay for a service i expect honesty. Might need to consider going elsewhere for service.

Sure has changed since it was Rushmore Honda. No discounting of new vehicles at all and pushing options on you when you tell them you don't/won't take them. Oh and you get two different stories on your car from the service department and the sales manager. Nope my business will go up to Bismarck now. Well worth the extra drive.The service department has always been solid. The review above was purely based on the sales side.

Keep in mind that I have not actually taken my car to Honda here in Rapid City, so this review is only in regards to their customer service. Every time I try to call in to get a quote on a specific service for my 2012 Civic, they almost immediately try to oversell me on a package that is about $500 more than the service I am asking for simple because my car has fairly low miles for its age and they therefore assume it is rarely driven or maintenanced. I have told both servicing team members that this car had low miles WHEN I BOUGHT IT USED only 3 years ago, and it is up to date on everything but the service I was asking for, but they don't seem to listen. I want to give you guys my business, but you have to understand that you come off as one of those places that will do a LOT more work than I asked for, then make me pay for it after. I might try to talk to someone else, but more than likely I'm gonna keep taking my car to Subaru who has been more honest and transparent so far.

Our salesman Dan was was excellent. He kept us informed about the status of our new vehicle. Since we had to wait for it to be shipped he kept us up to date every step of the way. When it arrived he did a great job of explaining all the new features. We have dealt with this dealership several times and always have a positive experience.

Customer service is awful. My mother in law has been a customer for years. I witnessed how she was treated and was horrified. She was talked down to, told she had to have certain serviced performed, not recommended. Told she had put off services previously. When the car was pulled out front, none of the service reminders were reset. We told the service advisor and she rushed through resetting them and used words such as you need to do it this way as if this was our fault. Shortly after the car broke down. We were then told we had no warranty when in fact we did. We were told they had no tow truck and no loaner car, all while being stranded. At no time was there a mention of how they could help or assist. Now imagine having all this happen and you re 87 years old. Doesn t get much worse. If there was another choice for Honda dealer service you d better believe we d use it. Very sad.

Will in service was awesome!! He kept me updated with my vehicle. My first impression was great. I have a Hyundai and will being my 2 Hyundai cars to Honda for service. I didn't have to worry or question the mechanics because just talking to Will gave me reinsurance. I was recommend to here and I am so glad they could take care of me. I will come back for a vehicle through them and see the nice finance director guy. Thank you so much to him!! We came from Las Vegas, NV and this is what a shop should be ran like!!

James at Rushmore Honda Service Center blew me away with his service for my family. He and the team helped me on very short notice get an oil change and check out my Pilot for the remainder of our road trip cross country. Incredibly impressed and thankful. Purchased a brand new vehicle from Honda approximately 6 months ago.Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda does not stand behind their vehicles nor do they value their customers.I do not recommend Denny Menholt.Take your money anywhere but here.Worst customer service and definetly a rude sales manager that does not care if a customer returns for business.The buying experience:These guys do not come to your vehicle or approach you when you're on the lot.I think we drove off the parking lot twice and circled it 5-6 times, parked and started walking to look at cars and still were not greeted once by a sales associate.After about 20 mins we finally approached one of the sales guys on the lot and asked him for help.If I hadn't been dead set on what I was looking for, we would have left due to the non existent customer service.The impression I got from the 4 associates whom were talking and standing around the lot is that they were not eager about making a sale. There was 1 sales associate that seemed like she was busy/working a deal.Once our guy actually started the sales process he was pretty understanding about the price range and the model I was looking for. He made the transaction smooth.Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda itself is 1 star (or less) for customer service.Also: I was informed there was a recall but that they couldn't figure it out. Honda should really check on the lots that are selling their new vehicles. Yikes! Extremely worried is how that response made me feel!

Casey was our salesperson and was very nice, knowledgeable and helped get us a good deal. All the staff helped to give us a good deal and worked with us when the price was too high to find a happy medium. My trade in was fair and all the while they were very professional and kind. I absolutely hate buying cars because it tends to be an unpleasant experience but this was one I feel good about. Would come here again.

Our AC went outside the Badlands in very hot heat. We spoke with Will who set up a diagnostic but shared (in a straight forward manner) was not sure if they would have the parts needed if the compressor required replacement. When we arrived, Corey did the diagnostic work and miraculously they had the compressor needed. They did the work that day! And we were able to continue on to Montana in a cooled car. They were super nice and felt very well taken care of. Very much appreciated that they were able to assess and fix the car all in the same day. Very professional. Corey even provided a great hike recommendation in Custer state park: Sunday Gulch. Highly recommend Rushmore Honda for service!

They informed me that my car was unsafe to drive and was going to be over $4000, "probably $9,000." The service guy told me that it was an unsafe vehicle for my wife and babies. I got a second opinion and it cost me $2,000 total to fix everything they said would be a minimum of $4,000. These greasy, sleazeballs tried to trick me into buying a new car with them and, I'm sure, turning right around and selling my car that's "too rusted to work on."
