I made an appointment because they were a VOLVO dealer. I had an air leak and an ECU light on. They quickly said not an issue and to bring it in. That was the good part. I left it for a few days and they said they were diagnosing the problem. A couple days later they told me I needed a new wiring harness and an extension and it could be up to 6 months or longer. I paid my bill which was 10hrs of labor to which they did not do much other than break a few pieces of trim on my dash taking it apart. Now mind you they did not even explain that the harness would solve the air leak or the ecu light. I asked for the part numbers to do some research myself to see if anything was around. The part numbers did not exist, I called a d they gave me another part number, once again with no promise of this solving any problems I had. They billed me for 4 bolts and shop supplies (150$) not sure what supplies because they did not do any work. The total bill was just over $1500. I took it to an independent repair shop and the actual issue was I needed 2 EGR valves (which there seems to be an issue with from Volvo) truck has 150k on it. It also needed an air regulator valve on my transmission. The bill was much higher $8200 which I was happy to pay because it fixed both problems. Being stuck or getting towed is far from cheap. So either they did nothing at all to my truck or they were not competent to fix it. I contacted them and even emailed the PAID repair order so they could see exactly what was done, in hopes of getting some of my money refunded because they did ZERO to solve or explain how this imaginary wiring harness that they can t get was going to solve either problem I had.. The only good thing about this place, is thst they got me right in . And it went straight down from there. I put the truck pic so they would know who wrote this review. I own my own business and have for 22 years, customer service is number one to my wife and I. Doug

We travel all over the US and have been to several Volvo shops. They have all helped us get back on the road in some capacity. This is the first shop where I feel like we received exemplary service. Our bill was not cheap (never is with a Volvo) but the mechanics (Cedric & Martin) gave us a clear and concise explanation of what they intended to do. When the job was completed, the documentation and explanation of work performed was also clear and more detailed than I have ever seen anywhere! I would have given them 5 stars except the service advisor/manager is the only one handling that position so as you might imagine he is beyond overworked. Because of this, communication was not the best and we needed to micromanage some of our more complex issues with regard to timing.The necessary work done was of the highest quality, I don't feel like we were overcharged and there was no $350 diagnostic fee before they would even look at it! Highly recommend these guys!

We would have to agree with another poster that this Volvo service shop has exceeded our expectations! It was not a cheap bill but I think we were aware that Volvo s are high maintenance. We can t say enough about the Service Manager Jim and Volvo Tech Cedric! They worked long hours and stayed later than service hours to complete the job in order for us to travel home (13 hours).Kuddos to Jim and his customer service abilities. I would hate to be in his shoes but he always had a smile and laughter to light up a room!If you need Volvo work done, I highly recommend Cedric! He is skilled beyond his years, detailed oriented and takes his time to explain the issue.

if you need your truck repaired, run from here. This is the most horrible place I have ever come across. I came in with a transmission problem. They told me that everything is fine with my transmission and the problem is different. I had various parts replaced and it didn't work. And in the end I was told that my transmission is beyond repair and needs to be replaced. I went back to the truck stop and replaced just one o-ring inside my transmission, and lo and behold, it worked! Too bad I had to pay $4,000 to replace working parts.

Was stranded due to a leaking air valve, they quoted me for the air valve which was 81.99 and a couple hours of labor at $166 an hour and told me it would be a couple hours. They then proceeded to charge me $962 just to change the air valve! a job which takes 2 hours max to do! Way overpriced and frankly deceptive business practices ill be looking for information on how to report them for a consumer right violation

DO NOT BRING ANYTHING HERE TO GET FIXED. It should be against the law for them to advertise as a repair shop! 1 star is way too many!

Went there with a transmission issue. Spent several hrs waiting on a diagnosis. I was told it was my batteries and to come back the next day. That night I replaced all batteries myself. Came back the next day 2 hrs later they tell me they can t find anything wrong must have been the batteries. Paid $900 for a diagnosis that should have taken 30 min. The best part is we left the shop and 20 miles later we sit on the side of the road again. The transmission was failing. I call and tell him we will be right back. The shop manager say well we already have 2 trucks in you will need to wait. I told him we would be waiting for a call. It s been a week and no phone call! We gave up and limped it to a real shop. They had the transmission out and diagnosed in less than a hr. My advice is keep rolling to Sioux Falls if you can! This place will just take your money and laugh. And the drivers lounge is nasty and small.

Perhaps the best customer service I have experienced. From the moment reception picked up the phone, I knew that they would do everything possible to get me back on the road. Friendly, honest and genuine. Special thanks to Jim for his incredible service, above and beyond. This was a bill I felt guilty about paying, incredible value.

The staff here are amazing!! From the parts counter to the service techs to Brad, the manager. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty to get me back on the road as quickly and painlessly as possible. I would definitely stop there again, and would recommend them to anyone needing truck service or parts.

The only reason they get 1 star is so I can leave this very helpful review. Took our Volvo in, they quoted us $6500 to fix it. Been down this road with them a few times, but never had another mechanic for 2nd opinion. Took it all the way to Lancaster, OH to Breakers & it took Andy 2 minutes to find the problem. A broken wire that he spliced. Took it on a test drive, after 10 mi the lights went off & the codes cleared. Beware, fellow truck drivers- Volvo is not competent or they are knowingly screwing us all over. Either way, we re done getting raked over the coals by Volvo. That goes for all certified technicians regardless of make. We need more people like us that take their trucks to get a second opinion, so the playing field evens out. From now on, we re going to test these companies and see which ones are bottomfeeders. VOLVO IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

They managed to get my warranty through . They credited my Visa back, would have gave 5 stars but for the time.... Still thank you and although I hope I don't need an emergency fix I wouldn't hesitate to come back

I had a tow truck driver damage my truck and this is where they towed it to for repairs. I was told they would have it fixed in 5 days and the cost would be 1100 for my repairs and 5400, 1200 parts and 4200 labor on 30hrs for the tow truck company. That was not the case they took almost 3 weeks to repair because there tech on it only worked 3 days per week and on those days only did about 4 hrs worth of work per day. When it was supposedly done they hand me a bill for 1900 for 2 coolant lines, oil solenoid and PM service. Parts where around 600 and the rest in labor and claim they did not charge me labor for the PM. The tow trucks bill was 3k in parts and over 10k in labor. Needless to say they did not honor their estimate and couldn't justify the additional charges. I gave them plenty of ti.e to make this rite but the owner refuses to do so. They also did not replace the correct solenoid on the oil filter housing and will not rectify that either. It would be in your best interest to keep moving on to another shop not owned by these yahoo's. They also have shop in Sioux Fall SD and Omaha NE Skip them to.

Very professional and great service. Brent is really easy to deal with and also helpful. with my truck being broken and out of service for over a week i really thought i would take a huge hit with the bill. They understood my situation and helped me out which made my day much better. thanks guys keep up the good work.

The worst Volvo dealer ever) I asked them how much they will they charge me to replace a hose and I pointed at it explained where the leak was coming from, they said 1 hour=$139 plus the part itself $85, total $224+tax. But when I saw the bill next day was $676.00 can you imagine the difference between $224 and $676 and after arguing with them for 1 hour, they lowered to $378 just to replace 3ft hose, I could of done myself for 30 minutes but they wanted to charge me 4 hours @ $139 per hour for the estimate. All they want there is your money and they will try to get as much as they can from you

Excellent service department. The manager Jim went over and above to get my truck in and out. We travel 48 states and have been to many different dealerships and this one was by far the best! We would highly recommend this service department!

While passing through town on a family camping trip, our truck lost air conditioning....on a 102 degree day! My family and dogs were over heating and miserable. After installing a new AC compressor in the Holiday parking lot, my wife called Black Hills Truck and Trailer and they snuck us in within the hour. They allowed my family and two dogs in their air conditioned lounge while they tested and charged the air conditioning. Excellent customer service, exceptionally nice people and an overall great experience. I cannot thank these guys enough for saving our trip! Thank you a million!

Almost 4 days down with the truck, almost $4k, and not even two days later I m having the same issues. Also they missdiaged a brake foot valve that didn t needed replacement. The resistor valve was faulty dumping air.

In REF to P truckings comment, you may want to talk to your mechanic, as you must know you cannot install a Trans Brake backwards as they are not directional, (both sides are the same) 2 halves lock onto the trans input shaft only. Their is no right or wrong way because both sides of the brake are the same.

What a rip off. Did not find the problem or fixed anything charge me arm and leg..go to Peterbilt if anything. Don't come to this place I'm warning you!!!!

Not five stars because they are not used to dealing with joe blow off the street and kinda acted like i did not belong there. But once they realized i knew what i was doing they were very helpful

My experience was horrible! What I paid them to fix, was not fixed properly, so I found out a few hours later and this caused more damage! They could care less about drivers safety! To my fellow drivers out there beware of this place if your tired of getting ripped off by mechanics!

Had to come in to get service and was told they had a couple of guys who needed something to do. After an hour and half wait finally got truck into shop. While waiting wife was in restroom for a couple minutes and the automatic lights shut off. Was told parts would be in by 10 am next day and to come back by 9:30 and had to wait an additional hour just to get back into the shop.

Friendly service I just bought tire chains here very cheap too if u need tire chains and are passing through here buy them here
