Al's was recommended to me by a friend. They earned my loyalty when the local drive thru oil change franchise put the wrong oil filter on my truck and damaged the engine. Al's had to R&R the front of the engine a few times to get to resolved - it was challenging and they did it right. We will always be bringing our vehicles to them for repairs. Always friendly, honest and fair,

I have been in the car business here in Rapid City for over 20 years and I have the utmost confidence in Al's D & I. Whenever we have a problem with a vehicle that seems unfixable, we take it in and they always figure it out. The most skilled technicians in the business. I couldn't recommend a shop higher.

Great customer service and work from start to finish. They are honest and open about what's wrong with your vehicle and they do really good work. Would reccomend to anyone with an import in Rapid City to service their vehicle with Al's D n I!

Very pleased with the service repair on our 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that we took in because the window switch failed. They got the car in and out the same day. The service people were easy to communicate with regarding what the problem was and in getting the window back up until we can find a part for it. I definitely recommend them.

Al's D & I was recommended by a sales rep at a local auto dealer, for some needed timing belt service on our 2006 Honda Pilot. He didn't steer us wrong. I took the car in to them on a Wednesday and it was done on Thursday. "Sudden Service" and expertly done as estimated. The staff was knowledgeable, they explained everything I needed to know and showed me the parts that had been replaced, and why.I highly recommend Al's for anyone wishing to get the best work available.

Al's D & I is fantastic they were booked 2 weeks out and somehow managed to not only diagnose and fix a wiring issue but do it on the same day it was towed in. I will be bringing my business back whenever I need work done!! The customer service the updates and the knowable technicians make this shop my go to from now on. Very nice. Professionals. Took my BMW Z4 over there. ( which is not easy to work on). To have break checked and get worked on today. They got it diagnosed very quick. I called them by 9am. He discussed the situation with me. I told him to go ahead and fix it. Got a call around 3:30 telling me its ready. Picked it up and so far everything is pretty good. Thank you guys for ur hard work.

Great communication and quick service at a very fair price! John and others were very friendly and reliable. They said the part would be delivered in the morning and called me at 9:40 am to tell me my car was ready. Will hands down return here when needed!

I am driving my 5th BMW, so I definitely understand costly repairs. I took my latest one here after going to another place that I didn t feel right about. They noticed the issue I was having right away. They suggested what I needed done and a few additional things. They told me what was urgent. They did everything most cost effectively as possible. They went above and beyond and fixed two other items and only charged me for the parts. Best thing, the communication was great. They did not MANSPLAIN the issues to me and were very kind. My car drives amazing now. I m so happy. My wife and I were a thousand miles away from home on vacation, when the water pump on my VW Passat started going out. We called what seemed like every shop in Rapid City, including the VW dealership, but none of them were even willing to look at it to diagnose the problem. We finally gave John at Al s a call, and even though they were booked solid, they got us in the next day to give us an estimate. They quickly diagnosed the problem, and had us back on the road as quickly as time allowed, given the availability of parts. When it was all said and done, the total cost was at least $150 less than what we were originally quoted. John and the whole team were absolutely spectacular, and gave us great piece of mind during what was a very stressful time. I can not thank them enough. These guys are great! Not only did they fix my problem but they went above and beyond with service. Not only that, they could have easily charged me way more than they did but chose to try a lower-priced solution first and it worked. They are more interested in making long term customers!

After years of paying for irresponsible and expensive car care, I stopped in front of Al s D&I and questioned clients as they left the building. Same answer from each was around the quality of car care, the great job and attention to each client by the friendly staff and the attitude shared of trust and never going anywhere else with there vehicles again. I am a very satisfied customer and consider them as friends.

They helped us out when we were in a tight spot. Even though they were really busy they let us tow our car to them; they diagnosed the problem and fixed it and were excellent at communicating with us. We were able to rent a car in Rapid City , make it to our daughters wedding and return 2 weeks later to our car. Got back to California with no further issues. I recently took my '09 Honda Ridgeline to Al's D&I to fix the power to my car doors. They quickly identified the issue as a torn cable in the drivers side door. They ordered the part from Honda, and a few days later, I got my door fixed. Nobody likes to have their cars repaired, but the folks at Al's D&I are nice and seem very honest to me. Scott & Jesus will take good care of you. I had my truck worked on and when my problem came back soon, they ended up fixing the other sensor in the opposite wheel (which had the same problem) free of charge. They also get the repairs done when they say they will, which is nice.I continue to take my vehicles to Al's, because it's still cheaper to have them repaired than it is to buy a new car -- if you can even find one to buy! I believe they are honest and do a great job of advising what needs to be immediately and what might wait until later. I recommend them.

I took my Audi into Al s for a not working AC. I assumed I just needed it to be charged up. But Als did a great job by doing a whole diagnostic on it and found the root of the problem. They worked to get it fixed by making sure they took their time and were very thorough. I m very impressed with their customer service and their technicians. I m very grateful for these guys!

Had them replace a window switch inside drivers side door. When I picked vehicle up, there was door damage to the outside of drivers side door. They completely denied they did anything. Then when I got home with the vehicle, the lens and light on bottom of door fell out of socket. They did fix that and attempted to repair door damage, but a poor job. Two paint dots is all they did to the deep down to the primer scratches. Now we are in legal process with them to do the right thing and pay for the repair. Very helpful and knowledgeable to take your vehicles. Fast and very fair priced. I took my truck to them when I started hearing a rattling noise. They couldn't hear it themselves but after looking at my truck he gave me his professional advice and worked on it. When I got my truck back the noise was gonna! I was very happy with the service I received. Definitely a place where you only have to go once and they get the job done the first time. The whole experience was absolutely stress free and they made me feel like I was a friend. great place to give your business to!

For above and beyond customer service, Al's D& I sets the bar!!!I recently moved to Rapid City from Texas. My husband has trusted Al's D& I for years and all his vehicles have been serviced here with great diligence and excellence. Needless to say I was looking forward to place my Subaru in their care as well. The team quickly determined and fixed issues and kept me informed at all times. I love the way they communicate and you know what to expect. Everything is explained to you what and why a repair is necessary and at what cost. You never feel "up-sold" or pressured for anything unnecessary. I love that the cars are given the attention they need without all that extra "fluff" the car dealerships charge for. During the course of my 2 major repairs that come with age, since the vehicle is over 16 years old, another issue snuck up and Martin couldn't have been more generous to adjust cost of the additional hick up. I am beyond impressed with the service and integrity of Al's D & I and without a doubt be-trust my beloved old Subi to them.Integrity, excellence and true customer care is personal to Al's and this in itself is a very rare find these days. Of course, Al's D & I has another devoted customer for life in me, without question!

I've been driving only Mercedes-Benz S-Class "Special Class," since 2013 and since then I've owned 3. A 1995 S420, a 2000 S500 and a 2007 S600 (V-12 Bi-Turbo 540 HP), "See-ya KIA". If you drive an older MB S-Class you are going to need repairs. The E-Class and the C-Class, (Executive and Coupe) are more simple versions which don't need many repairs even at 20 years old. I do my own maintenance and only bring my cars to Al's when I do not understand the problem. Al's has consistently diagnosed the needed repair the first time and has made the repair on time and within $50 dollars of the estimate. I've never brought my car back and said "you didn't fix it." Rapid is a small town and I'm always asked, "where do you bring it if something goes wrong?" I always say Al's D&I. This shop is the absolute best in Western South Dakota.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my 1998 Jeep Wrangler in for the instrument cluster to be repaired. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone! Everyone who works here is very welcoming. Came in with 2 problems. One was diagnosed, the other not fixed. Had the car for 2 weeks and charged over $600. They thought it might have been a misfiring injector, so I gave the go ahead to investigate. We didn t talk about what next. They kept digging to diagnose. They ended up concluding that We needed a new engine. The car wasn t worth it, so I asked them to not proceed with misfire issue. Didn t hear anything for a few days. I called in and was informed that the wrong head gasket was ordered, so there was a delay in putting things back together. 1 Star for slow process, high price, and not fixing the other repairable item, that I had requested repaired. In Summary $600 for only the diagnostic accomplished. On a positive 2 weeks biking to work was good news for the body.
