Fast, friendly and affordable.They got me an appointment quickly and when I called because I had to bring it in late in the day instead of the morning, they told me I could still bring it in and they would still fit it in the schedule. My car was still ready next day and would have been ready same day if I had got it in that morning. You can tell they really care about their customers. Very reasonable labor. Very happy and definitely will be back!!

I m So happy to have found Advanced Auto Repair. Dave explains so well what exactly the problem is, how much the repairs will cost and sticks to that amount. Thank you for being an honest, salt of the earth Company.

Fair and trustworthy mechanics here. Switched to them a few years ago and they were able to diagnose and correct issues on both of our mid-00's vehicles that our last mech could not.

I recently took my 2007 edge into Ed at Westside to fix a major idling issue. He was extremely polite and his staff quickly diagnosed the issue. It required pulling the engine which they did quickly. While the engine was out he advised me that the water pump frequently goes out on this vehicle at high mileage (it had 165,000) and recommended fixing it now as to do it later would again require pulling the engine at $1400. He worked the repair into his initial repair estimate. Car runs excellent. I highly recommend Ed and his staff and will be taking my cars there in the future. A honest and fair local automotive repair company! 5 Stars!!! Thanks guys.!!

We were on our way back to California when our alternator went out in Mt. Rushmore and we had to get towed to Rapid City. We went in Monday morning when they opened and Nathan helped us. Even with them being completely booked out he managed to get us in and they had it fixed by the afternoon! We were amazed by how awesome of a service we received! I am so blessed to have been a customer here. They got me in for an oil change and also looked over all the necessary parts to make sure my van was ready to head back home across 4 states. I feel so much better knowing it's been looked over and feel 100% positive that if there was something that would be unsafe to have my 3 precious sons with me driving over passes and mountains that these guys would've found it and fixed it accordingly. They had great customer service and amazing prices. Even pointing out that the last people to do my oil change used the wrong sized wrench to get my oil plug out resulting in it being chewed up. They were able to make it better and make sure it fit tight. Would definitely recommend these gentlemen and wish they would've let me tip them. I spent $10,000 to have a transmission replaced, and oil cooler lines fixed. After replacement and six months time, I had to return the vehicle 4, yes 4 separate times.On the 4th time Advanced Auto requested an additional $1200 to take the transmission back out to repair a rear main seal cover plate, located behind a flex plate (8 bolts on the crank) which wasnt leaking before transmission replacement, their certified mechanics couldnt see while they were in there, so it apparently had cracked / warped some time between bringing the vehicle in and the 4th attempted repair.After charging me to replace the rear main seal the vehicle WAS STILL LEAKING.I cant trust you guys even if you tried to make it right today!Fed up with this I took it to a different local mechanic, as I could not trust them to attempt to 'fix' it again, and spent another $1200 to take the transmission back out.What the other mechanic found was the cover plate was some aftermarket cover, not GM OE part, it was uncentered and leaking, one of the tabs grinding into the crank shaft, because no one took the time to use measuring equipment to keep it centered while torqueing bolts.....Advanced Auto is a nightmare that caused me almost a years time, destroyed my concrete driveway, and ripped me off.NEVER AGAINServices: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

Moved to RC almost 4 years ago and was very skeptical about finding a new car place. A friend recommended and I'm so glad they did, I've been going to Ed and his great crew for years now and will never go anywhere else.They have impeccably fixed/repaired any problem that my car, or my husband's car, or my mother's car, throws at them. I always have to ask Ed if he charged me enough for something because it always is a great price, he will never upcharge anyone; he is too good of a guy, with too good of a character, to do that.Many times I have to wait for my vehicle and Ed (or Taylor) will always make me feel welcome, like a guest in their own home.This is the best car place I have ever been to, and will ever only go forever! I have been taking my vehicles to Advanced Auto Repair for many years and their customer service is second to none. They do an excellent job of explaining the problem and the steps needed to correct it. Upfront pricing is nice and they contact you before any additional work or costs are required. Very friendly staff is also a plus.

Call these guys up ask them about some questions I had, regarding my vehicle.l am a shade tree mechanic, but I wanted a second opinion. We went through the motions and they gave me some good information and we're not trying to sell me on anything, that tells me it's an honest shop. Much appreciated!

I came in with a mystery issue simply because they were the closest and I honestly thought the car was going to die in the middle of the street. I was pleasantly surprised. They initially told me I might have to leave my car a couple days since they were pretty booked, but I got it back by close of business the same day. He charged exactly what he quoted and was very nice and informative. Would definitely go back (but hopefully won't have to).

Update: I stand by my comments. I don t know what I am not being honest about. You in your reply stated you knew it sat for 2 years. I would hope you would dig deeper then just the battery. Funny how the very next drive the head gaskets were shot. I am no mechanic so i brought it to one that I thought would dig deep and solve my problems. Obviously by your reviews you so some quality work. After spending close to 220$ for a battery change and some gas I thought I was good. Next day I spend 5,000$ For a fox you guys could ve done I think. That s what I called the shop to tell you guys. The. Ed answer my call and belittles me on the phone, I don t know why he would have to be restrained over the phone in the first place. There was no interactions that I had with no other customers as to when I picked up the car the shop was empty close to closing tim. So if anyone is being dishonest it is you sir.Had a car sit two years, brought it to them, with engine coil concerns. Got a call hour later saying battery needed to be replaced and that was it. Day later light was back on and they said it d be weeks before the could get it in. I then took it to Toyota who revealed to me the head gaskets were shot. Called back to advanced auto (not) repair who then said it ran fine when the drove it. Ed, who was a real jerk then began to belittle me on the phone saying I never mentioned none of the above. VERY unhappy with service!!! Won t be going back. Ed said it would be about $600, picked it up and it was over $800. AND truck wouldn t start. That was not a problem when it was brought in. Ed assured me everything would be in running order. $800 and it won t run. Yeah. The cost is reasonable, and the wait is shorter than a number of other mechanics. The customer service is excellent; the man at the front desk is polite and helpful. I know enough about vehicles to work on my own, but there's a lot I don't know - and he has never complained about sharing advice. I've had my vehicle in a few times, usually for oil changes - but once for an electrical issue that was far beyond my comprehension. They narrowed the problem down to the BCM ribbon, which unfortunately wasn't easy for them to find either - but they got it working and then I ordered a replacement ribbon from ebay for under $50.

I just wanted to say how awesome Ed and the rest of the crew are at the Jackson location. I have an old beat up Volvo cross country that is constantly having radiator and coolant problems. The times that the hose has disconnected and my coolant has ran out I have the limped the car in to Advanced Auto and the guys have reconnected the hose and topped me off with coolant and never charged me a dime. I will always take my business to them because they care about their customers and go the distance. I can t say enough about the integrity and honesty of this business. Keep up the great work. I have had plenty of repair work done here in the past and they have been upfront honest and timely with everything.

Had a control arm replaced along with an exhaust hanger. Next day had a CEL. Called and they looked at it next day and fixed the problem and didn t even charge me. My wife and I were recently vacationing in Rapid City, June 24, 2018, driving a Volvo rental car. I created a problem with the car that would not be covered under warranty. Checking online I found Advanced Auto Repair and called them, explaining my problem. Ed Wright, the manager, told me to bring it in and they would look at it.Fearing the worst, (a huge expense or possible damage to a rental car), I went to the 1212 Jackson Blvd., service center, and showed Mr. Wright what the problem was. He called over Tanner, one of his mechanics, explained the problem and directed Tanner to see what he could do.About 15 or 20 minutes later Tanner brought the car around, problem fix! Amazing! My wife and I thanked Ed and Tanner profusely. When I asked Ed how much I owed he said nothing, a minor issue, easy fix, enjoy the rest of your vacation. (We did give Tanner a tip as a way of saying thank you.)Ed Wright and Tanner were very friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with.I can not recommend Advanced Auto Repair highly enough.

The westside team at Advanced is top notch! They are fair on pricing, but do an excellent job - especially on imports. No need to drive to Denver, or Billings or Sioux Falls to have the dealer do it...unless you really want to pay the dealer prices!!!

Awful!! Waited three weeks for my appointment, made specifically for an exhaust leak. Called three days before the appointment to confirm schedule and exhaust leak. Check in day of appointment I'm here to fix my exhaust leak. Took the day off from work and everything. Waited most of the day no call saying fixed or even what the problem is. I called mid afternoon and was told we don't do exhaust work. What a joke this place is. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.Would put no stars. Looks like I need to pick one.

Advanced Auto Repair totally saved our road trip! Go to Nathan at the Jackson Blvd location for all your vintage bus/camper needs We were road tripping from Chicago to the Black Hills/Badlands and our 1978 VW camper van broke down in Cactus Flat, 80 miles outside Rapid City. Nathan was so kind and super helpful! He squeezed us into his schedule and had us back on the road the very next day. Great repair shop and great service!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Worked on my son's Expedition had serious front- suspension problems and the ball joints and bearings they got the work done in a timely fashion and reasonably priced . Would highly recommend they are honest and reliable.

Best auto repair shop in town! I've had several minor to major problems with my vehicle. Not only do they do great work, but Ed will let you know if you can save money by doing something else. Come here, and know that you will be treated right!
