I've worked with Nick here several times and he always treats me well. They spent all morning diagnosing my car and didn't charge me for it because there were no major issues. I definitely recommend seeing them for your transmission needs as they will definitely treat you fairly.

I would give this business 100 stars if I could. As a single mom who knows minimal info about a car's mechanics, I have taken several vehicles here. They are always transparent, kind, efficient, quick, and affordable (at least with providing options and 'urgent' vs. 'it can wait'). Seriously, take your vehicle here.

Josh & Nick went above & beyond to get our transmission issues resolved!! They did things thoroughly and did not cut corners to make a buck! They were patient with us and all our questions. All were answered professionally and with straightforwardness. They did more than what we expected, from researching to find an almost unavailable part, to completely test everything! Was having trouble with my 2016 Ford F150. First took it to McKie Ford (cause it's a Ford) was scheduled an appointment in about 3 weeks and told $130.00 to find the problem. Took it to Rapid City Aamco on Thur. Josh came out with one of his service techs and had the problem figured out in less than 5 min. We went back in Josh ordered the parts needed and told me the part should be in by 11:00 am Friday. He called Friday morning I took the truck in and had it back early afternoon. These guys are great. Great customer service and they know what they are doing. If you need honest car care go see the guys at Aamco, you won't be disappointed.

My tire arm on my car broke, I called a few other businesses in town who all told me it would take them a month or a few months to get to my car and fix it, I called AAMCO and would 100% recommend them to anyone needing work done on their car, they had my car back to me in about a week and a half, they not only fixed the broken side but also noticed the other side was not far from doing the same thing and were able to fix that side and an oil change. They checked everything on my car and made sure it was fixed and safe with no other problems. They were great at communicating with me the whole time and fast and efficient. I couldn t be happier! And not to mention the price was extremely reasonable, I can t thank you guys enough for your professionalism and quick great work, thank you!!!Service: Oil change

They are absolutely amazing and we had nothing but great experience with them! Nick,Josh and their team were willing to at least take a look at our van when we broke down in the middle of nowhere and then they were able to assist us with the different options when literally everyone was backed up by 3 weeks of work( including themselves) They did what they can and squeezed us in their busy schedules! My wife and I absolutely recommend them if you have a transmission problem!

Nick and the rest of the team are highly knowledgeable and provide excellent customer service. They take the time to explain your vehicles issues, provide cost effective recommendations, and constantly keep you informed. I highly recommend their services!

We have taken all of our cars to these guys for a couple of years now and I could not be happier with the results. They have always had my family's best interests in mind. They do not over charge on any of their services. Nick and Seth are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They will give it to you straight at great prices. They also offer Synchrony Car Care with no interest for 6/12 months, which makes an emergency cost bearable.I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Most transmission shops in the area offered appointments for 1 & 2 weeks out. But these guys here said come on by they ran diagnostics and gave us peace of mind! Thanks!

This shop saved my vacation! My brakes went out while I was passing through, and these nice folks were able to help. They managed to get me in sooner than expected and finished the job ahead of their original estimation...and at a very fair price. What I appreciated most is the time they took to explain what happened, what was needed, and what they did. Very polite and professional. I only wish I lived closer so I could do my routine maintenance here!

UPDATE- Unfortunately having to drop my 5 star review to a 2. I called back up there after I diagnosed the noise on my car. They refused to give me a quote to replace the parts until they "Verified the parts were bad themselves." I already took it to yall! You couldn't find the issue! That doesn't even matter, if someone wants to pay you to replace parts. YOU DO IT! I took my business elsewhere because of this second interaction. I left it as a 2 star for the simple fact of helping me find the axle.OLD REVIEW- Took my car here. Super friendly and helpful. Even though we couldn't diagnose the noise my car was making. They helped my find an (unfindable) axle I had been looking for on a side job. They had nothing to gain out of helping me find this part. But refused to stop searching. With the contacts they gave me I was able to get it in and replaced! I definitely recommend them!

I will always take my vehicles here to be worked on. These gentlemen treated my wife and me incredibly well when we were in a tough spot. I won't say exactly what they did because it was so so so nice that I wouldn't want others to expect them to do it for them as well, but I will say that they care about you as people far beyond being just customers. We were treated like family and they gave us service and prices like family. I couldn't recommend them more.

I have dealt with Wayne, Nick and the crew for a few years on a few occasions. I work hard for my money and expect the same when I'm spending it. These Gentlemen have never failed to come through. From the customer service to the all care they have shown my vehicle AND their previous work will make me a lifelong customer.I mean, they had my transmission diagnosed, repaired and back to me within 3 days... One of them being a Sunday. Top notch

These guys were FANTASTIC. I was passing through Rapid City and the morning I was supposed to leave my car wouldn't start. They were able to get me in the next day and got me on the road later that afternoon. Prices were totally reasonable and the guys were knowledgeable and patient with my dumb questions. A+++++++++++ would breakdown in rapid city again.

Called around to multiple transmission shops in the area and these guys were the most personable over the phone so I decided to take my car into them. After checking my car out they came to the conclusion of the problem. The diagnosis service was free of charge whether or not I repaired it with them. After finding out they problem I was given an estimate of the repair cost and told that it had the possibility of being cheaper, though they wouldn't know until they replaced the fluid. There was no beating around the bush and they didn't try to sell me everything under the sun. On top of this I had locked my keys in my car while running along with my cellphone. They stopped what they were doing and were able to help me out even though it was not their problem. These guys wonderful! I will recommend any one with car issues to go to them. I only wish I would have know about these guys sooner!

I was traveling from PA and I was pulling a camper. I did not like the way the transmission was sounding so I pull in the place expecting the worst. The owner Wayne Kummer inspected my vehicle for over an hour and a half. When they where done they hades the keys to me and told me everything was fine and get this there was no charge! Honest and trustworthy! You guys are the greatest!

Live out of town and car broke down while I was visiting rapid city, they were AMAZING! very friendly. Had my car fix the same day they got the part. Was in constant communication with me. Final result is my car runs perfect! Will return in the future if need be.

Nick and Wayne were absolutely fantastic in when they replaced the front pump seal in the transmission of my 2004 Ford Excursion. They worked with the AAMCO that initially installed the transmission as well as the rebuild center and kept me informed every step of the way. I couldn t be happier with their (and AAMCO s) customer service! Thanks again!

These guys are so great. I have had my sister's van fixed, my mom's Envoy fixed and they just rebuilt the transmission in my pick up. They're so friendly and answer your questions. I will come back time and time again with all of my vehicles.

Amazing group of guys. Highly knowledgeable with underhood mechanics and diagnostics. Nick (the always personable branch manager), his father Wayne (owner), and the master-tech Max were able to help me in a pinch. When I was moving all of my life in my Chevy S10 and small trailer west, to WY, I began having mechanical issues and sounds that scared the piss out of me. I was able to get my truck to AAMCO, and the gang got me diagnosed and fixed up. The issue was not well known, but the crew spent long hours brainstorming on potential fixes. Ultimately, I was back on the road in under 24 hours, and made it the 500+ miles to my new home in WY. The pricing was fair and service above standard. Couldn't be happier with an automotive experience.

I took my 06 Tahoe to AAMCO to get a second opinion on my locked up 4wd. The Chevy dealership charged me 150$ for a diagnostic and then quoted me $3.3k for repairs. AAMCO checked over my system for free with their vehicle courtesy check and found that I only needed 650$ worth of work. They treated me well and talked me through every step they did. I will definitely recommend them to others and will be returning with any other vehicle problems I have down the road!

I took my 93 Ford ranger in to have the 4 wheel drive fixed. They found it was a loose connection cleaned it and put it back together. They saved me time and money they did only what was necessary.

In the area for vacation, and truck started making noises in the driveline. Took the truck to Aamco based on the reviews I read here, and they lived up to every word. They got me in quickly, and worked hard to solve the problem, and provided me rides back to my camper and picked me up when the work was done. Prices were reasonable and quick service and very personable service. Thanks guys for saving my vacation!

Had new clutch installed on my '80 cj7 . What an amazing job they did above and beyond what I was expecting. Can't say it enough on how pleased I am with there work. Outstanding customer service, outstanding quality of work and no price gouging. Highly recommend rapid city aamco for all your needs . Thank a million guys at aamco.

Our transmission went out on our vacation from Ohio thankfully Nick and the guys at Aamco were able to get us in replace the transmission and back on the road in 24hrs. Jon from Black Hills car rental picked us up got us a rental and took back the next day to pick up our SUV. Thank you all at Aamco and Jon for accommodating us on no notice and salvaging our vacation. South Dakota was absolutely beautiful everyone was friendly we're off to Yellowstone. God bless!

Dropped off our 2008 Chevy 3500HD service truck on Tuesday 11/24/15 before the Thanksgiving holiday and Nick said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. We discussed the options and I had him order me a Mr. Goodwrench rebuilt transmission. Rapid Chevy had to order one and it was delivered, installed and back in service on Monday. FAST great service!!
