We're very happy with it.It is a budget hotel & is squished into a mountain side. So yes the parking is real tight and a pain in the b*tt. If you drive a truck you better be good at parking it. We're staying 3 nights and have simply gotten lucky to actually have been able to park I think.Indoor pool & hot tub is nice. Some rooms open to the outside & some do not. Ours are inside so it's been quite. Yes rooms have wear but are clean. Beds are kind of hard but after running around all day we've slept generally well. Breakfast has been a waffle station, scrambled eggs, sausage (probably pre-cooked), toast, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee. And the price of free with room is perfect. The location is EXCELLENT its right on the main street EASY walk to restaurants & shops.I got up early one a.m. enjoyed the cool air, quiet and watched what I think were vultures flying around, sounds weird but it was very cool.Walkability: Lines up with shops and restaurants. Super easy access.

We're giving the Quality Inn - Keystone a 5 star rating, which is based on our 2 night stay. Unlike a couple other reviewers, we're NOT going to "ding" the hotel for the steep ramp that vehicles have to drive up/down for 2nd level access. Go ahead and Google the Hotel, look at pics and you'll know what I'm talking about. I knew there was such a ramp ahead of time, booked our room and requested a 2nd floor room. Had no trouble negotiating the ramp coming or going at least a few times.Front desk staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was GREAT.Good job Quality Inn and Suites - Keystone.

The shower heads in all the rooms have never been cleaned. I asked to switch rooms and was told all the rooms have dirty shower heads. I was also told I could gladly leave. They didn't even want to try to help me get another room. I booked it through choice hotels and I am also a premium member of choice hotels and they did not help.I was polite and a thousand miles from home.

Great location and very helpful people but the room wasn t that great! It did serve the purpose as we where only there for one night, although the bathroom was very cramped and the bedrooms very outdated, still a good location for the proximity of Mount Rushmore and downtown keystone. The price was a bit over the top for what they offer.Nearby activities: Black hills, Mount Rushmore, keystoneSafety: Very quiet

Suite 200 has bed bugs. I reported this to the front desk. They said they'd inspect. The owner completely blew us off. They never got back to me as they said they would. I called back to follow-up and they said that they didn't find anything. I smashed the two bed bugs that I did find on the sheets. I did leave a review on Choice Hotels website but they refuse to post it. Beware. Everything else was ok. Just the bed bug incident. We checked out on 6/25/23.

Front desk staff friendly and professional. Room was decent and clean, except for horribly dirty carpet. I know this is difficult to keep up with, but it was awful and I had to toss my socks away as there was no way they would ever come clean again.Walkability: Close to everything on the boardwalk.

***BEWARE SCAMMERS***I was charged (3 weeks after we stayed there) a second time and they refused to refund the charge. We stayed at this low budget, moldy, musty place for one night. (Bad smell, musty moldy) Paid for it and put up with being charged extra for a room with "two bedrooms" thinking we would have beds in two rooms but when we got to the room the "second room" was an INCLOSED PORCH THAT THE AC UNIT'S EXHAUST PUMPED INTO!!! It was SUMMER! We couldn't even enjoy the porch room cuz it was like 100 in there at night with the hot air from the WINDOW AC UNIT pumping into it!!When I called to ask about the 2nd charge THREE WEEKS LATER I was told the second charge came from a "reservation" that was made with someone else's name! The woman at the front desk clearly couldn't understand English when we originally checked in and the manager at the front desk when we checked out was rude as well.I'm perfectly fine paying for the room we stayed in (even though I felt misled and taken advantage of) but to have a second charge, under someone else's name, 3 weeks later NOT be taken off is a scam I believe. It was a week before the rally and I think this hotel double charges guests during a busy time and hopes people don't notice.BEWARE, the low quality rooms there aren't worth the hassle of dealing with this management.

Comfortable bed, great water pressure for a shower, clean. I left a note for housekeeping the days we wanted a thorough cleaning in the bathroom and the sheets changed. Like other budget hotels, they only change the towels each day and make the bed. The room would be small for 4 people; it would be better to have one bed and a pullout for more space. The breakfast was adequate for a free hotel breakfast. Plenty of parking, but the drive to the second level is very steep.

The room was decently clean, blood stains on the floor. Tiny bathroom and bedroom. No access to main hotel for some rooms. Good room service. However breakfast wasn't kept up with. The fruit was molding and the workers was just watching TV. The pool room was very cold as it was not enclosed. The pool was moldy on the sides and the hot tub filter wasn't working right so it had a film of skin buildup in the side. Parking was also very inconvenient. I would say the only good thing was the location. You get what you paid for.

Do not stay here is you have a large suv or truck. Parking is very tight and rather limited.Refrigerator is located under the tv in the dresser , we did not notice this right away and we re disappointed, all good once we found it!Layout of the room isn t the greatest. Light switches not in the best spot.Bathroom is also VERY tight, can hardly get the door open to exit bathroom.Bed and pillows were great!!Nice breakfast spread, pretty standard food which is fine.Nice location, right on the way to Mt. Rushmore and direct access to the boardwalk of keystone.

Parking is absolutely horrible. The owners took what s normally 2 normal sized parking spaces and turned them all into 3. If you drive anything larger than a mid sized SUV don t hear. The rooms arnt bad. Cramped but well kept.Walkability: Close to everything

One of the most misleading photos and advertisements for a hotel my family and I have ever experienced. Everything is done as cheaply as possible. Booked our room 6 months before our trip requesting handicap amenities. We were not given the room I booked but was charged the same priced for an extremely small room. Their pool hours are very limited because there s rooms right next to the pool. Their breakfast consists on egged cooked in bags and a waffle maker that doesn t work. This hotel takes advantage of families traveling to MT Rushmore trying to have a good time. What a disappointment.

This hotel was ok I guess you get what you pay for. The parking lot is an absolute travisty. The room was much smaller than the pictures, and was dirty. There was a hole in the ceiling in our room, and the shower head was disgusting. The only upside to this hotel was the proximity to mount rushmore. The walls are paper thin, and breakfast was pretty so so. Probably be looking elsewhere next time we're in the area.

The only great thing that I gave 5 stars is the location. Out of every hotel downtown Keystone this has the least amount of hills to walk up and is closest to all shoping and eating, Directly out the door.. The hotel was OK, it was pretty clean, the front desk was rarely around to help, we waited an hour and a 1/2 to check in. The pool was decent it was dirty the 1st night, and cleaned the 2nd. Beds and pillows were decent, just average. The reason for 3 sters, is parking . There is off street parking ++.but we drive a large S UV, the parking is very very tight and you have risk of scraping parts of your car when exiting the ramp. To some it all up, If you are handicapped or not an avid hiker and are OK with average hotels this is a great place to stay.

Didn't care for this hotel for a few reasons. The parking is small and the ramp to get to the upper parking area is a death trap. Better make sure you have plenty of pad on your brake pads if you stay here. Driving a pickup truck, you will have to be extra careful in their parking lot. Barely had enough room to turn around in the lower parking area. The other issue we had was we had booked a balcony room in the main hotel building and the adjoining doors between the rooms don't sound proof anything. We could clearly hear our neighbors' conversations through the adjoining door. We were woken up by their conversation at 5:15 AM the next morning, and couldn't go back to sleep. No privacy at all when we were in the room.In addition to the "balcony", it is merely a 3 seasons porch with an 4 ft iron fence between the rooms. If your neighbor and yourself are out there, you could easily step over the fence to get into another room should they not lock the sliding glass door. No security or privacy in the balcony area.Plenty of other hotels in the area. Rent elsewhere if you can. Don't recommend this one at all.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast would have been much better if waffles would have been available, but it was not horrible...individual blueberry muffins, breakfast meat each day and eggs, but the scrambled eggs were edible and not great. Would have been nice to have the eggs without cheese besides all with cheese. Parking was very tight and limited, but we managed.

We opted to stay here thinking the location would be great close to Rushmore, Hill City, etc. and the location is great. We booked a suite, because we have 3 kids under 12, and wanted the option to spread out a bit in our room, and make our own dinners sometimes. We re booked Sunday to Thursday night. Our room 3 queen beds, which are fine. BUT the room it s not very clean. Our bathroom sink and shower didn t drain very well from the beginning. We ve called about the bathroom sink 4x, and today, Wednesday, it s finally fixed. Our itty bitty fridge / freezer needs a good clean, and defrosted. The weird 2 burner stove/sink/fridge/freezer thing could stand some modern day updating for sure. The dinnerware and cookware is super minimal, and I question how clean it is as nothing here seems clean, inside nor outside our room. There was a very used sponge on our sink so I could wash dishes with that, and who knows what germs and bacteria, if I opted to do so. But gross. No one has made our beds the entire time we ve been here. Thankfully, we have had clean towels, so that s nice.So very very unimpressed. It seems they re banking on tourists showing up to this hotel because of the location, and so maybe aren t worried about making it clean nor nice??I would never recommend staying here. Especially not at the rates that charge.

Horrible male staff at main checkin, very rude and not helpful. Ask him a question and get a rude answer. Weird set up at hotel, nothing convenient except close to stores. Toilet over flowed early and had to. Wait till staff came to work at 8. They should have an on-call maintenance person. Later found out other rooms had same problem with toilet. Water in tub wouldn't go down either. Whole place not very clean.

I would not recommend this hotel. We are handicapped and when pulling in late at night there was a car in the handicapped spot that wasn't handicapped. We told night manager on Sept 10th. He said it was his car and he wasn't moving it. Handicapped we had to park in a spot so small I couldn't get out. That being problem 1. The second is the beds are terribly old and both woke up with painfull backs and couldn't sleep. Do not recommend.

The location was great. Parking was a little tricky...should number spots & give out permits. Room was decent but could be updated. Pull out couch was nasty to the touch, the mattress needs to be replaced & should have bedding in the room for it. Towels & bedding could be replaced with brand new, pool was very mucky looking so we did not use it. Staff was nice.

If you are staying for one night, it s an okay stay. The location was great if you are exploring keystone or Mount Rushmore. But if you are more than one night, look elsewhere. Our room was on the first floor off of the parking garage. When we opened the door there was a strong musty/old/stagnant air. We turned on the AC and It lessened the smell, but It still was there. The bathroom was old feeling. The ceiling tiles were wet looking and the seam between the wall and the shower wasn t complete. The shower floor was floating and uneven.

Upfront service was friendly. Rooms are rather small, bathroom even smaller. Refrigerator was not cleaned out from previous customers, some drinks were left in there. Shower water pressure was surprisingly very good. Convenient place to stay if you re wanting to be closer to Mount Rushmore. Also in the middle of town near stores and restaurants. Parking is pretty limited as it fills up rather fast.

Location was perfect, staff very friendly and helpful! We stayed Thur, Fri and Sat. They came in & tidied up our room and left fresh towels as well. Mornings we were offered a brown bag with water and a breakfast bar or you could have selected a breakfast sandwich to heat up. This worked fine for us as we had plans for the day during our stay. Just keep in mind if you stay on the 2nd floor, you do hear the neighbors with kids All in all a good place to stay, close to food and shops, plenty of opportunities to walk, eat or catch the 1880 Steam Train between Keystone and Hill City.
