It was perfect. The cabin, the location, the side by sides .perfect. Becki and her family do a GREAT job from accommodating to communicating to the flexibility (it was VERY cold when we got there and she gave us options on times to ride the trails, that was so much appreciated) my family thoroughly enjoyed our time. They explain the maps/routes/rules flawlessly. We will be back!!

Had a blast! The app with a map is a huge help. The equipment is always new, replaced every spring. Everyone that works there is so friendly and helpful. And the trails are beautiful! We had an extra 45 minutes after the trails, so we took the five minute ride to see Mt Rushmore from the road. Completely worth it!

Really enjoyed the ATV experience! Weather wasn t super cooperative but it was still a blast! Company owner was extremely professional and flexible with our trip. Thank you for such a great time and wonderful adventure in the Black Hills!

This was such an awesome experience for my family, especially my boys! We rented for the whole day and the staff were knowledgeable and guided us for the best route we could take. Didn't do much off-roading, but drove through the Black Hills, saw Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park, with plenty of bison!!! During the booking process, they were able to work through getting a car seat reserved for my three year old (he loved it!!!) getting it put in the ATV and telling us how to use it. Can emphasize enough how great Black Hills Wilderness Edge was, a family operation and they treated us like we were part of it!!! Would definitely rent from them again!!

Second year that my son and I rented ATVs from Black Hills Winderness Edge. Becki is so knowledgeable about the area and helpful in making sure your time on the trails is perfect. What a great company...Highly Recommend and we will be back!

Absolutely fabulous experience! The ATVs are in perfect running order. They supply helmets. They supply coolers. They supply Detail maps for a wonderful day. Very reasonably priced but not only are the ATVs beyond exceptional, so is American Pines cabins. You should combine them both. Cannot thank them enough for helping my family of 24 to create wonderful memories!

Do it now! Worth every penny! Great family business! So friendly and accommodating! (If you are a dog lover the dogs are an attraction alone )4 hours was plenty for us to have a great time and get another peak at Mt Rushmore. We had 2 7 year olds.The map app you download does a great job of tracking you plus you have a paper map. They also did a great job of explaining everything to you.Just note you and everything you take with will be covered in dust. (They give you a cooler to take it all in.) And it can get quite warm in those machines from heat from the motor.

What a great place to go for ATV. They explain everything to you of where to go. The price is reasonable. They clean the ATV's for you. The fuel, helmets, coolers are provided. They care about the wilderness and explain what expectations are on the trails. The scenery is amazing. The ATVs are street legal and can go very fast.The owner is a good guy and I would highly recommend.Some of the trails are dusty and muddy so you probably shouldn't wear things you don't want to get dirty.My family wants to do this again. Next time we are going to go the entire day. Thanks for a great time!!!

Explained the rules and safety rules of the machine use and trails very well. Recommended some very good and scenic trails even for having the majority of trails closed. Very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend to friends, family or anyone looking for a day out on the trails.

Such a great time! highly recommend. Take the stress out of pulling your side-by-side out to the Black Hills and rent one from American Pines. Great information about the trails as well as great recommendation. Cant wait to go again.

My husband and I had so much fun renting a UTV from Black Hills Wilderness Edge! They provided a suggested route on paper and I downloaded the trail map with GPS to keep me on track. The forest was beautiful with plenty to see. We went past an abandon gold mine, ponds, cattle, and ate lunch at a marina. The trail was plenty challenging and kept us entertained all day. The owner and employees were great to rent from. Definitely a 5 star experience!

This was an awesome experience!! My wife and I rented a 2 seater for a full day. We were a little hesitant because $460 is a lot of money and we didn't know what to expect but so glad we did it! We rode over 60 miles through the mountains...so many trails!! They have you download a GPS map of the area and give you explicit instructions as well as a paper copy of the trails. Make sure your phone is fully charged!! Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty cause if they've had rain recently you WILL get muddy!! If you're thinking about doing it, DO IT!! You won't regret it!!

Helpful and friendly staff. They go over everything you need to know about the trails, maps and app, the utv as well. App works without internet and was very easy to follow. My only regret was not renting it for the whole day. We did a half day 4 hours goes by fast! Ride was beautiful had a picnic. If I'm ever in the black hills again I'd 100% rent again!

Great place to rent an ATV. They provide everything you need. Maps, coolers, helmets, fuel trail permits and suggested routes are all included. They are very knowledgeable and care about their customers safety and experience. You won't find better rates for full & half day rentals. They have new 2, 4 & 6 seat machines that are clean and very well maintained! It was one of the best days of our entire vacation. We will definitely rent from them again!

We had a great experience at BHWE! The check in process was quick yet detailed. We asked for the best recommended trail route for the day. It was the perfect amount of different types of trails and plenty of very interesting spots to see. Our Kawasaki KRX ran perfect and gave us no trouble on all trails. We were supplied a cooler for our food and drinks. I highly recommend renting from this place! We will be back in the summer. Their cabins look cool too!

Man this family treats you like family! Over and above in the way of accommodating you. I was delighted to know that we had rented a brand new machine that still had the drive out tag on it! Becki was very thorough in all of the operational instructions and trail maps. The fellows provide good support upon your return. The welcome wagon dogs demand every bit of your attention!Dreaming of my next visit and I sure hope it is very soon!

Did a full day rental - better value for the time and read from other reviews that it was worth it. I can also agree that it was worth it. We got to see some amazing views we could not have without an off-road vehicle. The orientation was useful and quick, and we had no issues while using the vehicle.

Doing some google searches Jason came across this place and we decided to stay! Hands down THE BEST place!! Had such a peaceful stay celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! We also did an all day utv ride and that was another great experience! We will be back and will definitely stay here again!!!

What a great experience! From the minute we called to reserve the ATV s until we brought them back, everyone was so helpful and friendly! The machines were in great shape and easy to drive! We received excellent instructions and the Avenza App was so easy to use. We had a wonderful time and will definitely book with Wilderness Edge next time we visit the Black Hills!

What a blast. Very friendly and professional staff. Machinery is top notch. The crew had provided a map with proposed routes and points of interest (old mines, scenic views) throughout the black hills. Super convenient and helped maximize the use of our time. Highly recommend the wilderness edge!

This is our third time renting from these guys and we always have a great experience! This time one of our machines broke a belt and they had a new one out to us on the trails very quickly. They told us we could stay out longer because of the time we were down. They give you great ideas for trails but if you have been there before don t hesitate to ask them for alternate routes. We were able to see some new trails that we hadn t seen before. Best place in the Black Hills for rentals! We will be back again and again!

We woke up and decided it would be fun to ride some trails through the black hills but had no idea if anyone would have availability. We called 3 places and this one had what we needed! We rented a quality side by side for the day for a very reasonable price! Before we left, they drew out a map of all the trails we could ride and suggested an app that would track our location. They had great tips for hikes along the way or pit stops to swim or eat. Super friendly and very knowledgeable! They provide an ice chest so you can take drinks or food with you.The trails were fantastic! I think everyone should see the black hills that way and you should do it through this company!

The whole experience was great. The staff was great. The machine worked well. We had a great day at Black hills Wilderness Edge. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to get out and see the backcountry.

Thank you for showing us a great time! Getting the paper map outlined with the trails and places to stop was awesome. We used it with our Avenza Maps on our phones to see right where we were the whole day. I recommend a full day you won't want to stop after 4 hours. The rental experience was very easy and the 2 door side by side we had was new. Everyone was very nice and explained with details. We will be back.

We booked a morning 1/2 day rental with the Kawasaki KRX on July 3rd and had an excellent time. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Even though we have rented ATV's before in a number of places, we appreciate the thoroughness and details of having us download an app that tracked our location and where we had been as well as providing a printed map just in case. The only critique I would give is that part of your 1/2 day is used driving to the trails (appx 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back). We ended up getting back a little early because we didn't want to be late. We had alot of fun and highly recommend it!

Great trails for exploring! Had a fantastic time exploring the area. We did the half day and did a picnic on a mountain top. But be prepared to get dusty! And don t take anything with you if you re worried about it getting dirty. We ate a lot of dust! :) but it was a blast! You can ride as little or as much as you want and stop along the way to take in the scenery. A picnic is a must if you are planning to go on one.

Absolutely awesome experience adventuring through the Black Hills! We stayed in the American Pines Cabins (Next door and owned by the same family.) Our cabin was great, even when it was filled with 2 adults and 4 kids! (3 teens and an 11 year old.) It was comfortable and the hosts helped us out with any extras we needed during our stay. We asked Becki and Jarod for recommendations of things to do and see during our stay and everything they recommended was fantastic! From mine tours, ATV's and horseback riding- to where to eat and shop. We were not disappointed by a single thing we did! The best adventures were simply exploring the hidden gems of history all around the area.The kids already talk about going back again!

Our family had an absolute blast over this past weekend! First time ever! So much fun! We will definitely be doing this again with them in the future and it's well worth every minute of the adventure! Great people and very friendly/knowledgeable! The trails were amazing too!

Seriously I am the 350th 5 star review, just book your trip here. We had a great time, followed their approved route and it had plenty of variation in smooth trails and some more technical routes. Being the fact that I am a recovering adrenaline junkie, now with kids, I was skeptical of their approved route. It was a nice family mix of smooth terrain and my Wife giving me disapproving looks. Let s be honest, most husbands live for eye rolls and with a bit of right foot you can get them.
