My son really wanted me to leave this review. :-)This is a really nice place to stop and relax for a few days. The breakfast is wonderful (he ate 3 pancakes!). The beds are very comfortable and we were super happy that we could have our dog in the room with us.If we come this way again, we will try out their campground which looked really nice too!

Small and quiet campground. Decent pull through sites. They are very limited on 50 Amp sites but had a fair amount of 30 Amp. In addition to the full hook up sites there are multiple tent sites and a hotel on the property. I appreciated the type of stone they use on the roads of the campground because they didn't cause any dust as people drove up and down them. If you know, you know campground dust can be horrible. They have an above ground pool, laundry, showers, convenient store, and little breakfast diner. The views from the campground are of the Badlands.

We pulled in after a last minute decision to drive to the Badlands on a holiday weekend. They had one site left with electric hook ups. Lucky for us, our camper is small so we fit into the site. It was an end site with a view of the Badlands!.The guy who checked us in was extremely nice! The facilities were great and the location to the Badlands can t be beat for being outside of the park..Bonus: They had a swimming pool and also a small cafe that served breakfast. We did not eat, but glad the option was there.

2 minutes from the Park entrance, beautiful views on the Badlands. No noise from the road and no mosquitos (Our tent was close to the pond on the orther side of the fence). Great showers and toilets (2 units, so you don't wait). Not the greatest breakfast, but it's nice to have hot coffee from 7 am, and staff is very nice. Very kind young man at the office. I recommend it !

This is a simple motel with no frills, but the location and customer service was great. A microwave in the room would be nice and for some reason the shower curtain was too small, but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Be aware that you must pay to enter the Badlands before you reach the motel. The breakfast at the restaurant was great.

Flies were just horrible! People around us even were complaining. You will share a water line (has two spickets) with your neighbor ALSO the electric box is shared. So your neighbor is pretty much in my yard unhooking his trailer to leave. No ice over the three days we stayed. Bathroom/showers (green house) out of TP (we checked all bathrooms and all were out). Once you check in, you re pretty much on your own. Only plus .the view and closeness to the Badlands National Park is spectacular

Beautiful view of the bad lands. Pet friendly, large sites. This camp ground is so close to the entrance of the Ben Reifel Bad Land National Park Visitor Center. Easy check in and great staff to assist you. Along with a store and a small diner that serves breakfast. Also the have restrooms and shower areas. They also have small cabins and a Motel on site, didn't use those options, so can't say anything about these amities. Full hook up is available at most sites. Tent camping to is allow as well. Great price for the stay. I used my Good Sam membership to find this place. Felt very safe too, while there. You can get fuel just up the street. Clean facilities as well. The views from my site were just stunning, can't say enough about it. And they have a pool. Get this place a try. Nearby activities: Bad lands National Park. Minutemen Rocket Museum. Bad lands Ranch.Safety: Felt very safe.Walkability: This place has a nice open Prairie nature trail with views of the bad lands.

It s has an appearance of a no frills rv spot, but the camp store has all your needs, the restrooms are nice as well. Spots are level and the park is extremely convenient to the Badlands. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Easy to experience the Badlands from this location. For RVing in a large 5th wheel you would do better elsewhere. Had a reserved site that would have worked out better for my rig and tow vehicle but was told sites are not reserved. What? My confirmation had the site number on it and when they looked at it said they are not reserved. Very helpful in allowing my tow vehicle to be parked in a free spot behind the RV though. Sites are very narrow and you slides will overhang onto the neighbors site. The firepits are position next to your neighbors rig within 2 feet; glad no one tried to do a fire given this closeness. If the tow vehicle directly across from my site hadn't left for the day it would have be impossible to hookup and drive straight out.The final bad was they do breakfast everyday, except on the Wednesday my wife and I had planned to do so there.Go elsewhere if you can.

Loved the area, and the rooms were comfortable. The new owners are very rude. When I asked for acouple extras she responded with a huff and eye roll!! The kitchen help that has been there along time where so friendly.Noteworthy details: Beautiful view of "The Badlands Good breakfast and nice staff.New owners, or at least the lady at the desk was very rude.

Great campground right next to the park. Perk: as long as there is no local ban on, you can have campfires in the pits. Whereas pit fires are never allowed in the campgrounds inside the park. Really friendly people in the store during check-in, and a pool!

Well kept up campground just outside the entrance to Bandlands Natl Park.Rating 4 stars because on my initial interaction with the person checking us in. After driving 1200 miles I was momentarily confused about the reservation and thought it was paid for, I didn t argue when asked for payment I just said, Sorry I was mistaken, I have 7 campgrounds booked for this trip and I had them confused and the employee thought he needed to add a snarky comment about I would be the first one in history to ever prepay at this campsite because they don t do that . The comment wasn t needed, nor the tone. I was very soft spoken and apologized again. Just set a bad tone with me. It s been 5 days since then and it is still wearing on me. Other staff members during the stay were kind.

The best place to camp if you want to explore badlands. This place is family run they work hard and make you feel welcome. They have a great selection of beer and food at the store and the breakfast was fantastic. My wife and I were camping on a motorcycle trip The pitch itself had a beautiful view of badlands. There is also a really cool bar 10 minute walk away and we had a great evening getting to know some of the locals of this charming little town.Would highly recommend staying here.Great job and keep up the good work:)

This motel (and I can't speak to the campground side of things) is relatively few frills and a somewhat dated interior. You do get a comfortable, clean bed and room with DISH Network television and somewhat hidden refrigerator. We have a couple chairs and desks that were helpful. The bathroom was nice enough. The toilet was functional even if the toilet seat was previously damaged. (I'd use this as an example of how the room could use a little TLC and smaller repairs.) To be fair, it's usable functional, and, at the end of the day, you're really getting a good location near the Badlands. Greatness it is not, but it does meet needs.Note: there's no free breakfast here, but you can find a light meal at reasonable cost. This is all located in the convenience store / main office.Rooms: Comfortable and clean enough, I got a good night's sleep somewhere I felt safe. Could little repairs and updating help this place? Yes.Walkability: I would only use a car here and in the vicinity. Very little is nearby.Food & drinks: No free breakfast, but what was for sale was reasonably priced and tasted okay. Nothing fancy; limited options.A convenience store sells limited food options typically found at such placea.

After viewing the terrible pictures posted here I decided to cancel my reservation. I emailed their office and they acknowledged my cancellation. On the day my reservation was supposed to begin I get a call from someone named Kyle who informs me I'll be charged for the reservation I cancelled. When I told Kyle I cancelled he called me a liar. Kyle, lives under the assumption they don't make mistakes out at Badlands Motel. When I checked my email I found the confirmation and called the owner, who seems to think it's OK to insult his customers. My point-don't take these people's word for anything. Responding to the owner below: I spoke with the rude owner-weeks ago-he did nothing. His employee accuses their customers of being liars-and they do nothing-except lie some more.

If you're looking for a solid place to park your RV while exploring the Badlands then you should absolutely consider this campground. The spots are extremely level, we had full hookups, and everything worked well. There isn't much room between the sites but during our four days here no one was parked to one side which allowed us a nice view of the Badlands each morning. We didn't use the bathrooms or other facilities but the laundry was a welcome surprise. It's not fancy, or even that clean, but it worked and was relatively inexpensive. Would highly recommend for anyone with an RV, travel trailer, or motor home looking for a place to stay for a night or two.

Adequate place to sleep when in Badlands. Beds are good and rooms are clean. Bathrooms need some updating though which is the reason for the 4 star on the room. Small showers and almost no water pressure in the sink.Owners and staff are phenomenal though. Location is quiet so you can get good sleep and the AC is able to keep up with the crazy summer heat. The little convenience store is a plus.

Definitely a little overenthusiastic about this campground because it was featured in Nomadland! I really enjoy the park bench design at every campsite. However, there is not much privacy or a boundary line. We had children from the next campsite over, running all around our tent. The bathrooms were well kept and had running water. If you wish to shower, you do have to pay for it. Still a great experience, wish I had a longer time to spend here

Four star campground and a better option than the similarly priced Cedar Pass campground which is inside the Badlands National Park. Outstanding value when using one of the available discounts. All sites pull thru of varying sizes and not all have FHU. Sites are very close, some have trees, all should get starlink and satellite signals. Some sites pretty mushy after a rain. Tip: DO NOT take SD Highway 44 to/from the Black Hills to this location if pulling a trailer! Go back up and take the interstate.
