Scott does fantastic work. Prompt, courteous, great quality work, and helpful in every way. He literally saved my vacation to the Black Hills by fixing my Ford F-150 pickup.

These guys did a great job fixing a flat tire on my motorhome. They were very busy but got to me in a very reasonable amount of time. They were courteous and professional. I m glad they got me up and running again so I could continue our vacation.

They guys are great. While on vacation my truck developed a vibration in the drive line. They were able to work on my 1999 Dodge Cummins on fairly short notice & sorted out what I thought was a big Transmission problem to simply being u-joints. Fixed it up in 1day & done. I will also add they also made me aware of a few other issues that would have to be addressed soon. Back home safe & sound. Knowledgeable, Fair & Honest. Thx guys !

My car broke down in Hill City, South Dakota, and I'm happy that it did! Scott was so helpful and knowledgeable, patient and kind. Really a genius with cars and all things automotive, mechanical, and electronic. I had no idea that my car had 28 computer systems! I arrived at the shop via towing (and the towing service by Bubba and Shane was a nice start to what was a difficult situation made easy by the kindness of people). I thought it was just a radiator but it turned out to be a myriad of issues. Some of them were major, so I believe that Scott saved my life. I am so grateful (as is my family and loved ones) that Rapid Auto took such great care to make sure I was safe on my cross country trip. I can't recommend this auto repair shop enough, if you are lucky enough to be one of Scott's customers!Services: Tires, Engine repair, Battery

Unfortunately, I got a flat tire while on vacation. I brought the tire in to Rapid Auto Repair and they were kind enough to work us into their busy schedule. We were traveling and my jeep decided to take a break. Not one auto repair shop would even consider looking at our vehicle. We called Rapid Auto Repair as our last shot. They were honest up front and made it clear that there is a possibility that they cannot get to it but would look at it. We got there they diagnosed the problem and said they will fix it. They gave us a number for a taxi and stayed late that night and came in early to fix our Jeep to get us back on the road. The price was very reasonable for everything that needed repaired. ALL the employees were nice, honest and my jeep runs great! I will and have recommended several people to Rapid Auto Repair that are in the area! Thank you so much for everything!

Rapid Auto Repair in Hill City provides timely honest personal service with advanced knowledge beyond even the best Dealerships. We were far from home with a difficult transmission diagnostic issue. In order to expedite so we could not miss our Travel reservations the owner personally picked up the parts on his way to the shop in the morning. Then installed and repaired the next day. He is patient behind the counter with work and customers waiting while answering the phone etc. Very good communicator. And prices are fair.

We were on vacation and we re having some issues with our truck. We stopped in to see if someone could take a look and two very friendly workers helped us out right away. They ensured our truck did need some upcoming work, but ensured it was nothing immediate, giving us he peace of mind to enjoy the rest of our trip. They also didn t try to sell us anything or charge us to look at our vehicle. If you ever need a vehicle looked at or repaired I highly recommend the outstanding customer service at Rapid Auto Repair!

I was so happy for the services that I received. The mechanics Kirty and Carl are amazing, super efficient, professional and really nice. The owner was very kind to me, considering that I was very anxious and worried about my car. He answered all my questions so that I understood and was put at ease. I recommend them 100% to anyone in the Hill City, Keystone or Rapid City area. They are truly a top notch repair center.

Had a pressure sensor warning light come on leaving Crazy Horse Mem. headed to Hill City. Google told me this was the place to come to. The gentleman there stopped what he doing and checked all our tires then used a device to check the sensors and adjusted the pressure and that did the job. We are on week 2 of 5 week road trip and we were very appreciative of his quick and efficient help. Sorry I didn t get his name but he was great.Service: Tires

This place is amazing. I called ahead because there was a leak under my van, and the guy said he was very busy but he d try to look at it today. I got there and he immediately took a look and diagnosed a minor radiator leak. Tightened the clamp right there and sent me on my way. Luckily it was a simple fix. The mechanic was very friendly and professional. I d highly recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic in town!

Scott took care of our sparkplug problem on short notice. It all worked out for us cuz we had UTVs rented the morning our problem started. Seems our local mechanic isn't keeping us up on mantainence. Thank you Rapid Auto repair. Got into a pickle with my motorhome while on vacation with my 4 littles and my mom and they got me in to evaluate and were able to squeeze us in the next day to be fixed... even though they were already over booked. Didn't overcharge or try to sell me stuff we didn't need, but got us back on the road and home with instructions on what needed to be done in the future. Highly recommend!!Services: Transmission, Engine repair

Stopped in on a long road trip with a leaky fuel hose. Rapid got me back on the road in safety, quickly and for a great price. Wouldn't have made it back across the country without these cats. Highly recommended if traveling through or local.

Driving through the Black Hills our van was having some acceleration issues. I called Rapid Auto Repair and they could look at it first thing next morning. In an hour the owner had the problem diagnosed.When your traveling you really don t know who to trust with your vehicle. Rapid Auto was MORE than fair. I wish I lived closer. I d use this place for all my vehicle repairs.

Carl helped us out, very quick and professional, real quality workmanship. Needed a rush order, engine cooling system went out on long road trip, they had us back on the road within 28 hours of the repair diagnosis.

Super helpful! Was having wireing issues between battery and alternator. Pulled in on a whim on vacation with our only vehicle and 3 young kids with us. They fixed us up on the spot while we walked to grab ice cream even during covid!! He even found a few other potential problem with wiring issues and fixed us up reasonably priced and amazingly kind to squeeze us in. Fixed in 20 min!

This guy looked at a tire while we were on vacation and having major balance issues. While the tire is not something he could fix (as it was defective), he made time and addressed it very quickly during a holiday weekend. Didn't even charge us to diagnose. Wish I lived closer to give this man some repeat business! Much appreciated!

Very rudeWe were there at 9 when he was suppose to open. He came pulling up and my wife greedy him and he was rude with saying they were closed in a nasty voice. Will not go back to this business.

We had a tire go bad on vacation...He came to our Inn, blew up the tire and he took our car to the shop and he fixed promptly. He had other work to be done but repaired our tire so we could continue on our vacation. Great service at a great price!Service: TiresService: Tires

These guys are incredible! We are here on vacation and they could have easily told us we needed the repair to make the money, but instead were completely honest about what we needed to do after getting our vehicle in very quickly to accommodate us at a VERY reasonable cost. I wish I could give them ten stars. Send your Grandma. Wish they operated in my town! Thank you so much, guys!!!!!!

On Sunday our Ford Explorer lost its a.c., and power steering. Took it in Monday morning and said he d look at it as soon as he could. Happened to go back 20 min later to retrieve something and he already diagnosed it as torn alternator belt. Said he d have it done by 2 or 3 pm, but he called at noon to say it was ready. What I thought was going to be a 1000$ job end up being under $150. Very professional.

Our rv lost its blinkers and brake lights. We pulled in to Rapid. He took care of us as fast as he could. Saved our vacation. Quality, and an honest man. There are still good people in this world.

The guys here were fantastic! We are on vacation a long ways from home and my mini van was making an ugly noise. We pulled in here they checked it out and got us back on the road fast! Highly recommend!
