Phil and NRIVA - inspection scam!Phil overlooked very serious problems, one of which would have been caught by simply running the vehicle for more than 5 min.1) The electrical system was wired wrong and the charging fluctuated between -4 to + 15 A, with an alert every 10-15 min. I purchased from out of state so once I got home, I contacted another NRVIA tech - he suggested that the vehicle should have been running for a minimum of 1/2 hour. This for sure would have caught the error. I have since reached out to several NRVIA techs as well as NRVIA itself who have all said the problem is too serious for them and they dont have the skills to address it.2) The propane sensor appears to be bad. After boiling one pot of water, the propane said we only had 1/8 of a tank. We stopped to get propane only to find out the dealer had completely filled it - the dealer suggested the sensor - were still waiting on confirmation. Simply confirming with the dealer that they had filled the tank would have caught this issue.3) The seal in the bathroom is cracked in multiple places, theres a gap in the molding around the bathroom sink, and its leaking water under the floor when showering.4) The bracket that holds the bed up was not secure, the wood is cracked, and tilts towards the inside of the van. The tilt would not allow it to hold the bed frame once weight was added and it collapsed.5) Full sun and the solar wont charge enough to simply keep up with the refrigerator, pointing to further electrical problems.Dont use this guy!!

We couldn't get our double closet doors open! Phil came out within an hour of our calling, fixed the doors better than ever! Then he was kind enough to install a new toilet seat and fix our happy jack sofa leg! Very good work at a reasonable rate. Highly recommend!

We needed a new water heater and Phil took great care of us. He was prompt and reasonably priced. He diagnosed and installed our new water heater. We would highly recommend him!

Phil saved our vacation! Our propane to our fridge and stove had gone out and we were about to move to a campground without any hookups during a heatwave. Phil returned my call within 15 minutes and was at our campsite within 2 hours! Impressive!!! He was very knowledgeable, efficient and kind. He had our propane system up and running in an hour. We were so appreciative. Thank you!

I now understand why Phil has a perfect 5 star rating.... He is just awesome! Just for a bit of back story, I had another joke of a repair guy out a few weeks ago to look at our AC unit that wasn't working. He was out twice both times refusing to do what Coleman was asking in order to make a warranty claim. He came to the conclusion that my unit was bad and needed replacing. Out of the blue 4 or 5 days later while I'm still waiting for him to do the warranty claim he says he's not going to help me anymore. Fast forward to Phil. After 20 minutes of doing the proper testing Phil figured out it was actually the RV soft start device that had failed causing the AC to not work properly.... Thank you SOOO much Phil, you saved me $1700ish! If we are ever in this area and need anything fixed I'm calling Phil 1st. He also happened to be a super nice guy and explained all sorts of stuff to me. Thank you a thousand times Phil!

Phil came out to repair my motorhome steps that would not extend and would only work intermittently. Phil went right to work to perform some diagnosis and determined the motor was not functioning properly. He was able to replace the motor and get the steps up and running again. Phil was very professional yet friendly, and his price was reasonable. I highly recommend Phil s RV Service for any repairs you might need in the Hill City area.

We are so grateful for Phil. We are leaving tomorrow for WY and with a two hour notice Phil was able to make time for us to resolve all ourmultiple and challenging electrical issues with our trailer lights outside and inside including the fantastic fans. Phil was prompt, extremely courteous and efficient. The cost was reasonable and fair.

Phil arrived at my boondocking campsite in the middle of Black Hills Nat'l Forest a few minutes earlier than our scheduled appointment, got right to work on my problem, and was very thorough. I even sprung a surprise "Hey, can you install this tank monitor system I bought?" on him, unrelated to my original service call, and he dove right in on it. Having never done a similar install before, he knocked it out of the park. Would not hesitate to call Phil again for service.Service: Electrical

Phil was amazing!! I called him from Colorado to see if he could help my parents who are older with some electrical issues they were having with their new Class C after arriving in South Dakota. He was attentive, professional and was able to help them get it fixed so they could stay and enjoy the rest of their trip!! Truly a lifesaver. Thank you is not enough! Phil is amazing! Like for others who have reviewed him, he literally saved our vacation out west! We had an issue retracting our awning on our Flying Cloud Airstream. He came out to help us despite him being fully booked, and he used some extremely crafty and unique engineering know-how to get us fixed within an hour and on our way. We have been full time RVing for 10 years and I can truthfully state that Phil is the BEST mobile repairman we have dealt with in those years.Phil is a professional who provides high quality work. He is a problem solver, he studies each item to be repaired and makes a mental plan to address each item. He communicates with the customer when he will arrive, it is two way communication as we had to change two scheduled times due to a family emergency, and he had to change one appointment due to a customer emergency. Phil is the best repairman of any kind I've ever used. Imagine needing something in your house fixed and having the person show up 5 minutes early, with all the parts, and then having time to help fix another thing that went wrong. That's what Phil did for us today. We had an issue with our water pump and explained symptoms to Phil. He came and found a tiny crack in a filter that we would never have found. And after we made the appointment we had issues with our invertor, needed for our next boondocking stop, and Phil fixed that too. We cannot recommend him enough. His presence a near Custer State Park gives us yet another great reason to come back here.Service: Electrical

Phil was not able to help with the problem that I was having with my brakes because it appears to be on the truck side, but he responded to my call very quickly. I would not hesitate to call again with an issue if I thought that he would be able to help.

Our RV refrigerator stopped working at the beginning of a long trip and we called Phil s. He kept us informed when he could be there and came to the campground and was able to fix it. Reasonably priced and was very knowledgeable. Appreciated having someone close by that was able to fix the problem before we moved on!

Phil is awesome. He resealed the roof of my trailer and did an amazing job. I had small leaks during a torrential rainstorm driving on the way to the area he works in. It is the week before the Labor Day holiday and he was able to squeeze me into the busy time. He showed me what he did to upgrade some original roof fasteners that had previously failed. He did a couple beads of caulk on some trim pieces and a fresh tiny hole I made from hanging something inside, additional to the bid. Phil is above and beyond the estimate of work, very nice guy and trustworthy. I would recommend him to anyone that needs RV repair.Service: Body & Trim

Phil repaired refrigerator and roof vent while visiting South Dakota. He returned our text on a Sunday. He was 15 minutes early for our repair appointment. He is efficient and reasonable.

Never met anyone more knowledgeable on all things RV. He came to our campsite and spent 5.5 hours looking over all of the things we had questions on (fridge, generator, roof, slides, furnace, AC, shower) and replaced a contactor switch in our electric panel so our solar could work properly. On top of it all, he is super kind & patient and will give you a detailed answer to any question you have. Highly recommend him for any issues you have with your rig.

I called him and left a message that I had a fresh water leak in my connection bay of our motorhome.He came to our RV park (Trailside, in Hill City) diagnosed the problem and returned two days later to fix the problem. "A worn thru fitting, from rubbing while traveling".Priced fairly and professional workmanship.Highly recommend.

When the tire blew it took out a section of the floor the size of a watermelon. Phil s not only came to our campground and completely fixed this better than new he tracked down a new spare and rim. Super nice guy. Awesome work. Very reasonable price. 10 stars!!!

Thorough and conscientious. Obviously experienced and knows his stuff. He was as worried about getting us back on the road as we were. Problem ended up being wire shorted out to camper brakes. Not easy to even diagnose but he did that and fixed it.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical
