Do yourself a favor and call this place first! Our car died at the entrance of Custer State Park when we were visiting from out of town. LJ s provided an estimate up front, they were professional and kind, and they recommended a great mechanic. By the time we were done unloading in Rapid City it was late, dark, and our kids were falling asleep in the truck. LJ s went out of their way to drop us off safely at our hotel. You won t find better people than this crew!

A big shout out to Ljs towing!!After staying in South Custer campground for easter. It snowed heavily overnight. I decided to leave out before the snow got heavier. As I was leaving the roads were starting to get icy. I came to an upgrade and when I got to the top my truck stopped and started rolling backwards with my horse trailer. I managed to keep my truck and trailer under control sliding backwards down a deep embankment.After an hour of being stuck in a curve with my truck hanging over the embankment. Another vehicle passed by and gave me LJ towing's phone number. After, I tried several tow companies in Custer everybody was closed or the numbers were invalid. I spoke to the owner and they said they would be out to get me in 20 minutes. Lol they were there in 15 minutes. They assess the situation and decided to go park on the hill to pull me up the hill and out of the ditch. They asked me to drive my truck and I told him I didn't want to do it because my nerves were shot for mowing such a far distance backwards and jackknifing. They completely understood and they both took charge of getting my truck and trailer out from the embankment and up the hill. They didn't question me about why I didn't want to drive my truck which was awesome! I walked up the hill to get away from my truck and trailer to walk it off and to watch for other vehicles while they were pulling my truck out of the ditch.I can't thank them enough for the professionalism that they provided in their service and understanding why I didn't want to drive my truck up the big hill of ice.They were there in a timely manner within 15 minutes of my phone call I highly recommend these guys if you have issues in Custer South Dakota!!!! Nice equipment and well maintained! . Thank you so much for service and professionalism and timely response!

A big thank you to Mr. Colton Jinks, Owner of LJ's Recovery & Towing, Custer, South Dakota for helping me get out of a difficult situation. The previous day I discovered my front tire on my Ford E-450 RV had gone flat. After contacting Good Sam's Roadside Assistance, a towing service was dispatched from Sturgis, SD. The driver admitted he didn't change tires too often and proceeded to change my flat tire using a new spare tire and wheel that came with the RV. He completed the tire change and left. The next day I started to pull out of the campsite and the front wheel would not roll, forward or backward. I had gotten the flat tire repaired so I called Ford Roadside Assistance. Mr. Jinks came and spotted the problem immediately. The spare wheel was the wrong size and was catching on the front brake causing it to lock up. After Mr. Jinks changed the tire, putting the original back on, the wheel turned freely. Mr. Jinks saved our day and we were able to continue our journey. I learned a lesson from this mishap: always make sure the spare wheel is the right size and spin the wheel before letting the jack down. A 5 star rating to Mr. Jinks and his company. I will call him first if I am ever in the area again and need help. Thanks again Mr. Colton Jinks.Service: Tire change

Best experience ever in a bad situation. I can t say enough about Colton and his team! I m an old school guy that just tells people when I get good service/treatment. Apparently this is the new way of doing things. I wrecked my motorcycle and Colton was called out to pick up my bike. He was very experienced in loading the bike and had a nice clean truck. He gave me a ride to where I needed to go to and gave me some options on how I could handle things. He had great advice since he deals with insurance companies all of the time. I will be going back to Sturgis in 2025 and will definitely stop by the yard to thank them all again.

LJ's Recovery + Transport was outstanding. I put my Harely Davidson Street Glide off the Needles Highway over a very steep ravine. They were very timely in their response considering that the Needles Highway was very crowed that day. Very professional and knowledgeable in the recovery technique of motorcycles. It was very comforting to know that they knew exactly what to do. Could not ask for a better service.Service: Motorcycle towing
