Super helpful and kind folks, got us in during Sturgis when everyone else was 2 weeks out. I was originally told by another shop that I might have transmission issues, however the team at precision assessed the issue as a dirty throttle body and had me out the door for a very reasonable price. No more issues 2 months down the line. 10/10 would come back for any future work I need.

Amazing service!! Carl was so busy working on a motor that had a deadline but took time out to check an electrical problem on our leisure van so we could get back on the road. Carl is the host with the most. The experience from my first phone call with Carl, for my car repair, to picking up my car was refreshing. Carl called me with his diagnosis of my car, took care of my car problem, AND even repaired blunders made by the prior auto shop. Price was right plus his smile was welcoming. ***** (5) Stars for Carl.

100% call this shop if you want an honest, professional and trustworthy experience. We were driving through the Badlands, when we experienced significant issues with a front tire. AAA scheduled our tow and picked a random place in Rapid City for service. (It was a Sunday and there were no open shops to choose from, so she chose one from her list). Not wanting to leave this to chance, we changed the tow to Precision based on the reviews. Driving to Rapid City, our tow truck got a flat tire. He was only able to drop us and our inoperable car at a hotel. I left a message Sunday night with Precision explaining we were in need of another tow and service as we still had 13 hours left for our road trip home and we needed to return for school. Willie called before his shop opened Monday morning to let us know he could tow the car to his shop and let us know ASAP what repairs were needed. He quickly called back, explained the problem and said he could fix it and we would be on the road in a couple of hours. He even had someone pick us up from the hotel and brought us back to his shop to pick up the car. As we were at their mercy, we feared he could take advantage of the situation and charge an exorbitant fee, knowing we had no other options. He did not and we were charged an incredibly fair rate (we suspect we would have paid more for this service here in Chicago). He even sent pictures of the problem and explained thoroughly the service needed. Overall, Willie and his shop went above and beyond helping us - contacting us before the shop opened, fixing our car incredibly quickly, giving us a ride to his shop and most importantly providing us peace of mind for the long road ahead. If you are lucky enough to live in Rapid City - this should be your go to service!!

The ownership of this company has changed hands and the new owner does excellent work at a fair price. Carl has got me in at a last minute notice and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Knowledgeable, friendly and I highly recommend him for all your automotive needs. These low rated reviews do not reflect the new owners workmanship.

Carl & Scottie are fantastic! I was traveling through and had some maintenance issues I needed help with. Precision Automotive was highly recommended by locals, so I brought my van there to have a tire repaired, coolant flushed, and to have them look into my A/C issues. They know their stuff! Carl even helped me troubleshoot an A/C issue that has been bothering me for months. I would highly recommend this service. I was traveling from Michigan and experienced mechanical problems in the Badlands on 9/6/18. They got my vehicle repaired the same day so I could continue my vacation. Very professional with reasonable prices. Another customer was traveling from Texas. Precision went to bat for that custormer, contacted his mechanic in Texas, (who had not repaired his vehicle correctly,) and got the repair paid for by the mechanic back in Texas. Great service.

These guys are honest, friendly and professional. They tell you in detail what is wrong with your vehicle. Customer service is awesome. They gave me courtesy ride to get a rental while my truck was being looked at.

During a cross country road trip my car started making a god awful sound. I was freaking out because every place in rapid city was booked for the next week including them, but knowing I was desperate they were kind enough to fit me in and they fixed my car in about an hour. Truly an amazing experience, everybody was so nice and the price was extremely reasonable. Take your car here!

I was planning to give them 6/5 stars for the service I received when my car gave trouble during our vacation. I explicitly told them that I have long drive back home and make sure the problem is fixed. They confidently said the problem is fixed and will not return. But I had the same problem repeat next day morning when I was in the middle of badlands and was at least 30 miles far from any town or even village. It would have stranded me there for hours with my wife and 4 year old son and might had paid hundreds more for towing and waiting till Monday to get it repaired as it happened on Saturday if wife hadn't noticed the engine getting overheat and before it boiled the coolant and blasted it like previous day. Because I have tinkering habit and understood the problem before, I tried fixing the radiator fan plug with some wire piece I had. The original issue was it was loose and the guys confirmed that it is fixed. To my surprise, it was still loose when I checked again during the second incident. Didn't expect this from these guys.

This is an amazing shop, with great, honest, good people as employees. They really went the extra mile on my truck and helped me when I really needed it and also got me in quick. This will be the only shop that I will take my truck and my future vehicle to. Very impressed and very greatful I found precision automotive. I highly recommend. A special thanks to Josh and Willy.

Hello. I had my hose come off my pump on my wall to Sioux Falls. I was stuck in wall!. The owner, Willie, gave ma a quote. The tow was 140.00 , the 2 dollar hose and the 5 mins it took them to put it on, 190 or so. Horrible price but i just wanted to get home. Lets fast forward a bit . After the tow, i thought my steering was way off.. i called willie , and he paid someone in sd to look at it . That was awesome of him.. i assumed it was something he did and it turned out , it was just bad luck. I paid for an alignment and was on my way. Welp, this morning i went to start my car.. the hose he put on, broke and thank goodness i had my husband with me to fix it. I called wille's shop and was told to bring it by for a quick glance. I get there and he was very rude to me when i explained the problems. He said he had all ready helped me once... its odd because the customer before me was complaining to willies for his shotty work too. Telling him he had bad memory or something . I walked out just now.. but let me tell you what.. hos attitude is piss poor, its a 3 dollar fix and i told the lady that picks up my phone that i fixed it and she insisted that i bring it in. I told her ok and only to have the owner be completely rude to not only me, but 2 other customers. He may jave felt attacked but thats no excuse. Be careful with this shop

The original estimate was for around $600.00 They had some problems that were unknown at the beginning of the repair and I was notified that it would be more than $800.00. OK on we go. Two days later I was again notified that due to high cost of needed parts the cost had risen to over 1000.00 . I was called again a few days later and notified that the fan belt had broken on the test drive ruining some wiring and that a new loom was needed. You guessed it,,, 1,275.00 I was called a few days later and told that I would have to take it to the dealer to be programmed. The dealer scoffed at their work and charged me another $600.00 to finish the job.I returned to precision In hope of getting some of the labor cost returned to me only to be told that there was no chance of getting even a partial refund even though they hadn't completed the needed repairs. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Our van broke down while driving thru Bear Country and they got us running again. On a side note, they fixed the alternator but didn't change a bad idler pulley which caused our belt to tear 3 hrs after we left the shop which left us stranded in the middle of SD.

This place is awesome!! I took my car in to have a thermostats replaced, Amy gave me a ride to my work, such a friendly place, turns out I have to have my head gaskets replace, they gave me a great deal, and offered me a loner until mine is fixed!!! I would recommend Precision Automotive to all!!!

Great place. Owner is knowledgeable and has decades of experience. Works on motorcycles and cars. Easy to locate, right off interstate I-90. Open all the time, call and ask for Carl

Our check engine light came on while we were on the first week of our one month road trip. We decided to have it checked out. Upon our arrival the owner mechanic told us he would check it out, but that it was doubtful he could get to any major issue that day. He took out his scope, figured that it was a sensor had us back on the road with a smile in less than twenty minutes.

Had a breakdow just outside of Rapid City. Got a tow to Precision and Willie took a look, found the problem, and had us back up and going in a couple hours. Professional and he knew what he was doing. Highly recommend.
