This is by far the best mechanic in town! I was in desperate need of a mechanic asap; as in picked my Jeep up from one mechanic and had a friend following me that thank God knew Scott and called him to ask if I could drop my jeep off and he said yes!!! He already had a full garage of vehicles in need of his attention but still said YES to me! On top of it, Scott contacted me the next day and told me what my Jeep needed. Yes sir, order the parts! By far one of the fastest and most honest mechanics in the Columbia area! He called me a few times in the short amount of time it took him to fix my jeep to keep me completely updated on the progress! Hands down found my honest mechanic for life, on my jeep!

I had a great experience at Scott's. I came in to have my splash shield reattached on my car. Tracy was friendly and helpful in setting up an appointment for me, and the mechanics were on schedule and started the repair right on time. They were done in 15 minutes and, best of all, they gave me the service completely free. Not a penny. It was a quick and simple repair, but they had every right to charge me and opted not to. I highly recommend their business. (The waiting room is pretty comfortable also!)Service: Auto body & trim repair

Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Showed me parts that were bad compared to new ones, this helps you know that you are not getting taken advantage of. Love that this place is not just a quickie oil change place, and can handle just about anything. The service was still prompt, and thorough. Prices were right with other shops prices. Also atmosphere was very nice with FREE Snacks! They also didn't judge me by the empty fast food bags in my car...

My diesel van threw a pulley and they replaced it quickly and fixed my air conditioning. They did some quality work and it was done faster than I expected. Everything has been working great since the repair, and Tracey was fun to talk to on the phone. I'll definitely bring my vehicle back to them, the next time I'm in the area.Services: Engine repair, Air conditioningServices: Engine repair, Air conditioning

Scott s to the rescue! I needed a local shop to service my smart car and Scott s Auto Repair was one of only a few that seemed confident they could do the maintenance so I gave them a.chance and I couldn t be happier. Theirs is a small shop but very personable and really paid attention to my needs. I plan to use them for all of my routine maintenance needs.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Scott's is the best. Really came through in the clutch for me. I was renting an RV trailer for the first time and didn't realize my Silverado was wired for the tow package but didn't have the full package installed. I needed a trailer brake. I was traveling from Atlanta and had an appointment in the morning with U Haul to install the brake but they were completely unprofessional. When I showed up for my appointment the mechanic wasn't there and the guy working the front couldn't tell me when he would be in even though I made an appointment with their corporate office. After a few hours of waiting with no mechanic showing up I called Scott who purchased the parts I needed and got them installed in just a few hours. Brake works great. Outstanding work. Thanks Scott!

I will always bring my vehicles to Scott's Auto Repair. These guys are knowledgeable, trustworthy and go over everything with the Customer. I was not pushed in making a decision and they answered all my questions. A lot of people don't know but they take classes to keep updated. Their prices are reasonable with the others. Very professional and kind. Once you use them, you won't go anywhere else. I also brought the company truck in for repair. Very satisfied with their service.

My grandad owned a car repair shop and my dad was one of his mechanics. Scott's has a place in my heart not just because they've breathed new life into my old car for years now, but because the atmosphere, the attitude, the skills, and even the smells of the place remind me of my grandad's garage. These folks are dedicated, professional, honest. They'll be up front about what's wrong, fix every real problem they find, and charge a fair price for it all. I would not take my car anywhere else.Services: Tires, Engine repair, Brakes, Air conditioning, Oil change

Very disappointing experience!!! I sent my son to this repair shop because it was highly recommended by a client of mine. As a business owner I take responsibility, integrity, and autonomy very seriously. I just spoke with the owner Scott, who by the way has none of these qualities. I explained that my son had his truck serviced by them approximately 2 weeks ago and just after getting his truck back he was quarantined at school so he had not been back in the truck and it had been parked in his apartments secured parking garage with security at the University of South Carolina. He went to the truck today and realized that items that were in the truck including a compressor, battery, and some tools we're missing. The last place the truck had been was with the people at Scott's. So I called to explain the situation, even after my son had called him and he blew him off and said "I'm sorry you feel that way". He did the same thing with me. I'm not accusing him of stealing the items but they we're removed while the truck was in his care. I also asked him if he had security cameras and informed my that his DVR only keeps a week of memory. If you choose to use this business be aware that we we're robbed and they take no responsibility and show that they could give a care less and give you flip answers and a very bad attitude. As a business owner I always pride myself, my employees, and my business on taking responsibility and helping to solve problems rather than blowing them off. Thanks Scott for a very poor experience and also for being a irresponsible businessman. Lost a customer in us and I'll be sure to spread the word and tell others of our unfortunate situation with YOUR business. Best of luck you'll need it with that lack of responsibility and excuses!!

This is the first car I own and even a small issue with it just breaks my heart. Scott's Auto Repair have been so helpful throughout. They explain in detail what is wrong and what has to be done. Very fast and efficient service. While I couldn't opt for their lifetime oil change service, they worked with me to come up with a good maintenance package. Every person I have talked to is very knowledgeable. They keep a good record of your visits helping them to analyze the current issue. As long as I am in Columbia, they'll be the one I visit for all my auto repairs.

Scott's Auto Repair is the place you need to go if you need mechanical work done to your vehicle. They do amazing work and have phenomenal customer service. They were able to help me customize my vehicle the way I wanted it when the dealership told me it couldn't be done. My 5 year old Ford Explorer looks like it's a 2019 now!!! Thank you so much. I will be back and send everybody I know.

Not going to allow you to steal Brettt's truck. Do the right thing, SCOTT. Or I will show you how to do the right thing. This will free your soul. The choice is yours to make. I can assure you, thisis one thing you will never prosper from. I will be out in front when we come to make it right.

During a cross-country Drive, I stopped by Scott s repair shop after I began hearing grinding noises coming from my rear wheel. It was nearing closing time, but he had his tech bring my truck around so that he could check it out. It was refreshing to see that he didn t have to hook up some diagnostic computer first before he could troubleshoot the issue. He actually did what true mechanics do look, listen, and feel for the problem. As he removed the wheel he mentioned what seemed to be the issue, and after a closer inspection he found the issue right away the emergency brake shoe had crumbled and pieces were bound behind the rotor (one of the two likely issues that he mentioned before even removing the wheel). As he removed all of the pieces, he explained how the brake shoe is supposed to look and function as well as the repair process. After a final check and re-inspection, he reassembled everything, offered me a card so that I could call with any questions or repair concerns, and kindly wished me a safe journey. After about 20 minutes of being there, I was back on the road.It s so refreshing to encounter true mechanics, and even more so to meet one who is knowledgeable, kind-hearted and caring. I m thankful that I found his shop. If I lived in the area, he d definitely be my go-to mechanic! Thanks Scott, Taylor, and Jeff for helping out this weary veteran on his travels!

These guys are awesome! I came in not really knowing what was wrong with my van. They figured it out within 30 minutes. Their prices are affordable and I was even given a 10% off of that. I dropped my van off around 9 and it was fixed by 1, I was thinking that it was going to take all day but I am so happy that it didn't. I was given a 36-month warranty on my part and was told that if anything were to happen that it would be fixed at no charge and if it couldn't be driven to a shop that they would have it towed at no charge within that warranty. I am very pleased with the service that I received today and will be using them in the near future.

I ve gone to Scott s Auto for approximately 3 years and have always received excellent service from Scott and the mechanics on staff. I recently had a major repair that had me very worried. It was handled professionally and with compassion. Scott and Jeff, the mechanic who did the work, are both awesome and honest. After years dealing with the stealership , Scott s Auto has been a welcome change. I will always remain a customer and highly recommend.

I called on President s Day as soon as they opened and Olivia took my information and told me to bring my truck in. Called me back before lunch and said my truck was ready to go and at a much more cost effective price than I had anticipated. Scott and his team are awesome and I will be using them moving forward should I need to. Highly recommend!

We had a great first experience with scotts when they had replaced the Pittman arm and 2 tires on a Chevy Suburban which cost us around 900 bucks. Well less than 2 days after getting it out of the shop it started over heating severely. At that point I had it towed to Scott's. They said that is was the water pump but when they replace this they also do the thermostat and the serpentine belt. They quoted me a price for 795 bucks. After checking the prices at Orielly the parts were less than 180 which means they were trying to charge 615 bucks for a minimally invasive repair. Because keep in mind I used my own towing company. They also said 95 of that was just the cost of looking at it.. I really felt like at this point we were taken advantage of because I was able to find an additional reputable company to do it for 300 dollars cheaper. I understand they are a business but my experience was less than ideal and unless you just have money to blow I would suggest finding somewhere else.

I came in for a loud knocking coming from my front engine compartment. Then the diagnosis came as "Broken engine mount and brakes needed". They charged $160 for this analysis. I got the engine mount repaired because it was a waste of money to have someone else diagnose it. I am now unsure if it was broken at all, because the diagnosis was wrong. The ACTUAL problem was a missing undercarriage plate.Oh, and they wanted $500 for a $200 brake job.I will not be back.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Vehicle safety inspection

My experience with Scott's has been superb. Have been here twice to fix issues in my 2005 Chevy Impala and both times they have not only identified issues, they have shown me and explained why it is important to do the work. Will be up front and honest with you, and are definitely my go to for any auto work in Carolina. I've even double checked their diagnosis and prices with my journal mechanics, who I've gone to for years and trust a lot, and it is around even. Scott and his crew will not steer you wrong and will fix anything they can.

Our Son goes to U of South Carolina and his car broke down. We don't live in Columbia so I found Scott's Shop through my insurance agent. I called Scott and he gave me a tow service to call. The vehicle was in his shop by 10am and they fixed the vehicle in a very timely fashion and reasonable in cost. Being that we dont live their I was nervous I wouldn't find someone who I felt I could trust. Thankfully I did. Scott's team was great. Thank you!!

Excellent service, as always. Scott and Freddy's team perform superior work and never push me to do more and more to fix up my truck. They are honest; I trust them to do the work I need done and I trust their recommendations. I live all the way across town but keep bringing my vehicle here for services and upkeep.

We were visiting from out of town and had some unexpected engine trouble. Thank God Scott s was honest about what needed done, fixed the problem before we had to leave town and they charged an honest price for the work that needed done. So glad we didn t end up at some rip-off auto shop that charged an arm and a leg for a job that only lasted until we got back on the road! Definitely recommend them!

My daughter has and continues to take her car to Scotts. I took it for her one day while her husband was on deployment for a routine oil change. They found the oil pan plug ( I think that's correct) needed to be replaced. They replaced it at minimal cost and in a short period of time. I am sending my mom there in the next few days. I love the service and the quality of the work!!

Scott's is the only auto shop that I use in Columbia. Every time I go there, the staff are extremely friendly and get the work completed as quickly as possible. They are always more than willing to explain to me what they did to my car and what it will need done in the future. I trust them completely to keep my car as reliable as possible for me.

We have a 2009 Itasca Motorhome on a Workhorse chassis which has been running very rough with horrific gas fumes and had already spent $2000 at the Chevy dealership in Ft Myers, Florida with absolutely zero improvement. While looking at the RV Park map, we saw Scott s listed and thought what the heck. Super happy we did! It cost $800 less and they actually fixed the problem. If you have an automotive issue...GO THERE NOW! You will surely not be sorry.

I had my car towed there after my check engine light came on. They did a diagnostic check on it and they reset the engine light. Thankfully, I didn't require any work related to that issue. While there, I decided to get a maintenance oil change and get my automatic door locks replaced (the locks were covered under my warranty). The locks had to be ordered. I paid for the oil change and $95 for the diagnostic check at this time. When my lock parts came in, I easily made a follow appointment to get the work done. Up until this time, I was extremely happy with my experience. At checkout, though, I saw that my warranty company was billed an additional diagnostic fee for $95. When I questioned why the fee was charged twice, I was told it was because it was a second visit. No diagnostic check was needed at this time. This was when I became extremely unhappy because I felt that was an unnecessary fee that was charged. Very unethical in my opinion. I had the diagnostic checked one time- a part coming in after that fact DOES NOT REQUIRE AN ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC FEE.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change
