Where to start with Chuck and his staff and crew...I brought my van in for an oil change after seeing their coupns in my mailbox, and asked to get a quote on a catalytic converter as mine had been stolen. After looking at it they informed me that only a section of the pipe had been cut and my catalytic converter was still there!!! Seems to have been a scam by the auto shop where this happened!! Chuck worked some magic on the cost for me and I came away with fresh oil and a MUCH quieter ride, thanks to their honesty...and at a very affordable price!! They were wonderful and I will definitely be back! I am so grateful to them for all they did for me that day!! Give them a try!! I'm sure their coupons have hit your mailboxes too!! Good honest people who DO seem to care about their customers!!

RUN!!!! Save your money and go elsewhere. I purchased a van about a month ago and after driving it around I noticed smoke coming from the passenger tire. So I took my van to these guys who informed me that I had a bad wheel hub and it would cost $482 to repair to which I agreed. The next day got a call that the van was ready... chuck explained that he checked the brakes, rotors and ball joints Everything looks good he said. I took the van home which is not far from the repair shop and park it. A week later I drove the van around and noticed that smoke was coming from the same wheel hub that was replaced. Took it back to the shop and was told that the brake calibers was rusty and stuck out. My ball joints were also bad and needed to be replaced. Chuck said it would cost over a thousand dollars to be repaired. NO SIR!!!! You said that everything was good the first-time you inspect the vehicle. And now you noticed all these issues? YOU MAY HAVE SCAMMED OTHERS... BUT NOT ME!!!! I had my van towed to another shop.

Chuck and his guys are fantastic! I bring my entire fleet of work trucks here and everything s always been great. Great communication. Great service.I ve been to a lot of other shops and there s not a shop I trust more the Platt springs auto. They will continue to get my business.

We've taken our vehicles here off and on for many years. They are always honest and fair. Michelle explained our recent issue to me very well and was a pleasure to deal with. The owner even stopped us on the way out to show us what had been wrong. I would highly recommend this shop.Chuck, the owner, is still awesome!

Very nice guys. Honest. And will work with you to make sure you are safe and on the road again within no time. I bought a car with quite a few issues and these guys have gone above and beyond for me. Terrible customer service. Place loves to overcharge customers and not fix the issue. Looked at my bill and they charged me twice for my a/c evac and then when I disputed it with the office lady she became rude. Will never use this mechanic again and suggest you stay far away. Don t get ripped off like me.

I came in as a walk-in on a Wednesday to get a muffler installed. Turns out their exhaust guy was off that day and the kind receptionist said they were busy and recommended me a shop down the road in case I was in a hurry, which I appreciated. I told her I wasn t in a hurry and left my vehicle so that they could work me in when they could. I never received a quote like they promised but they called back the next afternoon to tell me that my vehicle was ready. The price was fair. The welds look rough, but I don t know anything about welding so I can t be mad.Service: Exhaust

Never bring my car her again. I dropped it off, only to call 5 hrs later for them to tell me they hadn't gotten to it. So I say im coming to pick it up then they wanna say they checked it out. Did not put it on the diagnostic machine but still charged me 62.50. Only to tell me whats not wrong with it. After I told them what the problem is. Total rip off.

After a lot of frustration, they did finally get my truck wiring issue fixed. It took 3 attempts, but the issue was a wiring problem that I know from professional experience can be difficult to diagnose. Further, they did not charge me again to fix it. I was very frustrated, but in the end they did me right. My one pet peeve is that I told them in the beginning what the problem was (I do not have access to the right facilities or tools to make repairs, and I am also disabled by a shattered knee) but they ignored my input and blamed it on something else. I have over 2 years automotive service manager experience, and 20 years shade tree mechanic experience, so a wise man would have listened to my input. I do recommend them for the simple reason that they are an honest shop. Their prices are much less than Firestone (where I was a manager), and their work is excellent. Shawn (their service writer) is a darling, and a pleasure to do business with. I have not found a better shop in the Columbia area.I expect to update this to 5 stars upon my next visit.

What a wonderful company! It was Friday afternoon, after the hurricane, and one of the couriers had a blowout on one of the tires. Jeremy came with a new tire and fixed it, he got us back on our way with minimal effort! He kept the driver and I informed (I'm in Summerville) every step of the way and we appreciated his kindness! We will be keeping this great company as our 'go to' the next time we are stuck in Columbia! Thank you for your EXCELLENT service!

Mom's car wouldn't start, they arranged to pick it up, diagnosed the problem, called to provide a quote, parts ordered, repair made, cost within quote, arranged to return vehicle, communication was great, prompt and courtesy service. This automotive shop is the best I've ever dealt with. Owners and mechanics are nice and often funny. They are very knowledgeable and easy to understand, even to the less auto savvy such as myself. You go in as a customer and come out feeling you were treated person instead of a cash cow

Very honest and reliable service. I had to have a new exhaust put on my Z71, and they brought me back while the truck was lifted to show me what was wrong with it before moving forward. I will certainly do business with them again when needed.

I am the Warehouse and Maintenance Manager at ASAP Expediting & Logistics. Jerry came to me over the summer and ever since I let him and his team take care of my vehicles, I never made another call for my service repairs. These guys are the BEST. They're not just "Mechanics" that do the bare minimum and take your money. They're professionals that treat you like your family as soon as you walk in the door. Because I have a fleet of vehicles, Jerry and his partner Donnie have a service truck that they bring and they will do any repairs they can right in my lot. And if it can't be done in the lot, I get it to the shop and it's fixed as quickly as possible. You're never just a number at platt springs, you're a PRIORITY. I guarantee once you use them you'll never have to make another call!

Took my car there twice and the first time they said they fixed it but it broke down again. Took it there again and they said there was nothing wrong with it yet it s overheating and stalling still. Made my husband's exhaust worse than it was before hand. They refunded the money. Main exhaust guy wasn't there and another guy said he could but I believe he try his best

Maybe I worked here. Maybe they stole from me as well as the customers. Check your air filters after Chuck charges you.
